I loved every single moment of this book! There are hardly enough words...
In one corner, you have Emilia, seemingly sweet artist who is just trying to find her feet as her world breaks; seeking answers to questions in the wake of her Father's untimely death.
In the other corner, you have Vincenzo; Heir Apparent. Intelligent, haughty and downright irresistible.
When these two come together, sparks fly!*
But everything is definitely not as it seems...
Who is telling the truth, and who is hiding a deep dark secret?
Only time will tell...

A mafia heir. An art forger. A suspicious death that ties them together. This is the set-up for a dark, tension-filled romance that delivers on spice, betrayal, and dangerous attraction.
I’ll be honest: there were a few moments where I rolled my eyes at the drama—but then? I was hooked. By the end, I was completely floored. The authors did such a great job of pulling me into this world that I found myself genuinely invested, desperate to know what happens next. That cliffhanger had me looking around in disbelief, muttering “WHAT just happened?!”
Vincenzo and Emilia’s chemistry leaps off the page, with all the push-pull you’d expect from a mafia romance. And then there’s Silas… let’s just say the jury’s still out on him. Is he really watching Emilia’s back, or just playing his own game? Time will tell.
All I know is, Parker & Ankers better be working on book two as we speak, because I am not patient when it comes to cliffhangers!

Well, I'm now hot and steamy! lol
That was certainly a ride in more ways than one! I adore mafia romance books and this did not disappoint. It kept me intrigued throughout. There was plot, there was chemistry, there was hot, steamy smut that I couldn't get enough of. I love that therenwas characters to love, hate and be wary of.
The car scene where Vincenzo and Emily leave the restaurant & head back to gallery, that drive....damn!
As for Silas, the jury is still out on him. My head has not decided if he is truly looking out for Emilia or just in it for the money.
Time will tell and now I must patiently (which is not my forté) wait for book two. All I can say, is Harley Parker & K.V.Ankers better be writing it as we speak!

Emilia & Vincenzo bring the heat and the tension immediately.
They both have their secrets. She the master art forger, he the betrothed Mafia heir who might have played a role in the death of her father...
But you can't fight attraction like that! I like to think I would have hesitated slightly longer before jumping the man who may or may not have killed my Dad regardless of how relentless he was in pursuing me.
The twist at the end I did not see coming! I have so many questions and hope the authors hurry up with book 2!
Is Silas a goodie or a baddie?
Is Javier really gone? Will it be that easy to escape his clutches?
Does someone punch Kayla in the face?
Waiting anxiously for the conclusion!

Where to start with this review... Be prepared to be hooked! If you want an acution packed romance that you won't want to put down and if you have to ( grr life calls), you will be left thinking about Emilia and all she is dealing with.
While Emilia goes back to her childhood home to deal with things that need dealing with, she meets Vincenzo, who you will yell at Emilia to stay away bad news... BUT IS HE???
Just when you are team Emilia and Vincenzo, the biggest twist happens, you will be left shocked and sad for Emilia.
Bring on book 2. I'm ready...

This book took a turn I didn't see coming! Not only do we have fake dating, he's arranged to be married to someone else he hates, she's got just as shady work portfolio as our hot Mafia man. They can't keep their hands off each other, we have crazy ex bf blowing up her phone and all the drama WITH a cliffhanger ending that has me dying for book 2. Cannot wait! 😍

This was such a fun quick read, the writing flowed so well and I found the characters enjoyable! Emilia and Vincenzo had good chemistry and I enjoyed their interactions throughout the book.
I am definitely adding the second book to my tbr, I need to know what happens next 😩

When you come home to find out your father has passed away and you may not own the family art gallery like you thought you did. Things start to get a bit strange and you still need to complete the job you left behind when you come to finalise everything.
Emelia has her own secrets that she thinks no one knows about. But do they???
Vincenzo is after the family art gallery owned by Emelia but there is something else going on there too.
The tension between these 2 is so good and you don't want to put the book down. Lots of twists happening too.

This book was a great read, written by two lovely authors.
The chemistry between Emilia and Vincenzo is apparent from the moment they set eyes on each other. Attempting to pursue answers and deals from each other elicits sparks as they spend time together.
Mafia heir Vincenzo has a lot on his plate from pressure from his family to marry an annoying, clingy bimbo to acquiring deals. To plans of owning the galley being pulled from his grasp with the owner (Emilia's father) being killed a day after the deal has been agreed upon.
Emilia is living overseas as an artist and also doing forgery work when her father suddenly dies, forcing her to return to Australia. Here, she is trying to escape a relationship, find out what happened to her father, and question whether to sell the galley to quickly get back to her usual life.

Slightly annoyed on the cliffhanger ;).
But a well written Mafia romance, that only lost a star as I wanted more resistance from Emmy before the spice kicked in. She was way to trusting too quick. However where the story goes in book 2 will be very interesting and I can't wait to find out if who I think the mastermind is, is correct.

This is book one in the Masterpiece Duet, where we meet Emilia & Vincenzo.
Emmy is an artist, a forger & the daughter of a gallery owner in Australia. When her father dies, she flies home to Perth to see to his funeral arrangements. But when the police tell her he died from ingesting poisonous mushrooms, she knows something is wrong as her father hated mushrooms.
Enzo is the heir to the Italian Mafia in Perth - & he had a deal with Emmy’s father to buy his debt ridden gallery. But when Emmy’s father died; the deal died along with him. Enzo must now convince Emmy to sell him the gallery she has inherited.
Emmy decides she needs to “fake date” Enzo in order to get close to him & find evidence he had her father killed. But what she doesn’t account for is their attraction to each other. October 1, 2025I’m not going to leave a rating for this book as I DNF’d it but I was a significant way through before deciding so I’m still leaving my thoughts. Honestly, my biggest problem with this book at the point I got to was how women other than the main character were portrayed. The mmc is in a sort of arranged relationship, this character and her friends are repeatedly called bimbos and described as dumb party girls, unlike our main character. They honestly just felt like plot devices instead of fully fleshed out characters, even characters besides the leads who are seen in a good light feel pretty one-dimensional which I don’t love. This was my main problem and reason for not continuing. Regardless, thank you to the author for the arc, this book just wasn’t for me.

I desperately need the second book oh my days!! This book is incredible, it’s the best blend of spice and danger with mystery intertwined so perfectly that you can’t help staying up way too late just turning page after page to see what’s going to happen next.
