Annie Rigg's Macarons is a beautifully produced book with lavish illustrations, clear instructions--and be sure to follow their advice to firmly rap your pan down on your counter top before placing it into the oven (item #8, p. 7).

Thankfully, the book is indexed and even includes a list of suppliers. While the book is heading out this holiday as a Christmas gift. I may need to take a run at them before the gift-wrapping session. Bring on the lemon ones (p. 8) with raspberry or lemon curd filling!

So much variety and so many ideas to mix things up! After reading all the recipes, I wish I could try them out all at once. Rigg presented many flavour combinations that range from the traditional to the more experimental, and also included tropical pairings. Coconut & mango anyone? I was sold the moment I laid my eyes on that recipe.

All recipes contained both metric and imperial measurements. I thought that that was a very practical decision because this saves the need to sit down and calculate the ingredient conversions before baking.

I would've bumped up the rating to five stars if a troubleshooting guide had been included. That is what would've made this book a must-have go-to guide. I'll try a recipe soon though. If everything turns out well, I'll probably buy a copy for myself since I borrowed this book from the library.

After MANY failed attempts at making macarons, I have finally mastered them with this book. I have made them 5 times in the past week and all came out perfect. LOVE IT

A good introduction to macarons for the amateur baker.
Very good for recipe ideas, but have found better results from other macaron cookbooks.
