this is absolutely insane... wheres the next one? 😅
To be honest, I devoured this book in a few hours but didn't love it as much as the first. I'm really enjoying all of the couples' stories except Ruby and the brothers. Their story bores me and is bringing down my rating of the book....
Just keep them coming because how can you not want to keep reading with all these cliffhanger of endings. These couples and their journeys are neverending and I can't get enough.
Audrey Carlan used the word warrior in one of her passages. That one word describes all the women in The Marriage Auction Volume Two. Each woman is a warrior in their own right. Faith, Savannah, Dakota and Ruby are strong and independent and have survived the unthinkable. While the men in their lives: Joel, Erik, Sutton and Nile or Noah, are getting to know them it becomes apparent they can see this too.
Faith is settling into a happy life in Greece with Joel, Eden and Penny. The chance to live a life not surrounded in fear has Faith looking to a future with Joel as her husband and the two beautiful little girls who have become fast sisters. If Faith has a little faith with her family by her side, can she finally put the past behind her?
Savannah has escaped with Erik to Norway to begin her life with him. After revealing parts of their past to each other, Savannah and Erik start to talk about the future; stating they are both all in. Savannah has finally been able to visualize the future she can have with Erik. The question is will it happen or does she “run”.
Dakota has surprisingly began to fall for Sutton. The rough start they had has smoothed out and they have began to navigate a life together in their home on their farms. Will what Savannah learns about her family history allow her to finally put it in the past and embrace a future with Sutton who has always known she was meant for him.
Ruby is the toughest warrior of all the women. Surviving and unthinkable past, Ruby now has a big choice to make, Nile or Noah, in ensure a financially secure future. Will she be able to make the correct choice between the men vying for her hand in marriage? If so, can Ruby look forward a future filled with any chance at love?
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Book 2 continues the story of the four couples finding love after entering the Marriage Auction.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: These books read SO fast, and I’m obsessed with all four of the couples. You’d think having eight points of view would be confusing and hard to master, but it has been so easy to read and enjoy.
But this book gets extra props for its ensemble narration. Each voice is so unique and well played. I’m obsessed from the get-go and it’s been like watching TV to listen to it.
Rounded up from 4.7, decent enough sequel that does make me want to see these couples to their conclusions. I care more for some than others as their stories move forward but overall an easy read that’s more engaging than any drama on streaming or cable.
If you haven’t yet picked a favorite Marriage Auction couple, well what’s stopping you!! Actually, I have two favorite couples, but really, I love them all.
For me, my favorite has been Faith and Joel. Faith’s story just spoke to me and well I’m a bit of a suspense junkie! Honestly though, each couple, and let’s not forget the party of three with the Pennington twins, has something special to it. Dakota and Sutton are total Hatfield and McCoy’s level enemies to lovers, and off the chart, right out of the gate, super-heated and doggone funny. Ruby and the Pennington twins Nile and Noah, who are both vying for her hand, keep things interesting one-upping the other. Then there’s Savannah and that soft-spoken, hunk of a viking Erik! Definitely some sweet romance right there. I also love how these the sisters’, Dakota and Savannah, stories are interwoven.
I first read The Marriage Auction, Season 1 on Amazon’s Kindle Vella, but am super-stoked to be able to have these beauties on my bookshelf! The artwork on these covers is absolutely stellar and I’m so happy the gals at Blue Box Press, Liz Berry, Jillian Stein, and MJ Rose picked up your work Audrey.
I continue to look forward to reading Season 2 episodes each week. I mean it’s a win-win for me. I still can read other books, all the while keeping up with The Marriage Auction each week. These episodes are just like the Soap Opera’s (Dark Shadows and The Guiding Light)!
Just had to add a favorite quote from the book: “Choose the man you want to be with wisely. If he looks at you as though you are the very sun in his sky, they you’ve chosen wisely.”
I am totally invested in these characters and I can’t stop turning the pages! So much heart beats from every chapter and I keep changing my mind about which sexy, protective guy is my favorite!!!! I’m obsessed!!!
We learn more about each of the couples, their friends and families. The friends and family have mixed reactions to whether the couples agreeing to get married in the near future and more than one ex boyfriend is very much against their plans.
As we learn more, the story is getting even more interesting. I think it's fascinating and an interesting twist to a marriage of convenience. I'm looking forward to reading more of the series.
Can’t lie: the audiobook version of this is spectacular! There are SO many characters and relationships where I legit have about 5 post-it notes of information about all of the MC’s… but the voice actors give so much life to the characters where I only have to reference my notes when I start where I left off the previous day.
Not gonna lie… I’m waiting for a bunch of not so weird theories I have in my head that are likely to occur… but I’m trying not to overthink this too much. Cuz in my mind this plot is about to explode on everyone somehow. This book was too “calm” in comparison to the implied bad juju that all of the FMC’s have had.
In Volume Two of the Marriage Auction, we are brought right back to the four new couples who are beginning their loves together. One couple has already gotten married, leaving the other three to do so within the month, per the contract. This is the book where we really begin to see characters develop and boy, do I like what I am seeing! So much happens in this book and I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for us in the next volume. All I can say is keep reading!! You won’t be able to put it down (I certainly haven’t been able to!).
Wow it keeps getting better, I love Dakota and Sutton I truly hope they last forever, I Love Faith and think she got dealt a horrible hand before Joel ( I love Penny and Eden ) Aiden is a true scumbag Now the 1 I want to love I do like Savannah but I feel like she is going to break Erik heart and he just loves her which is so sad, The one I want to just skip everytime I get to it but I dont and I dislike her so much is Ruby she is a piece of work even her sister knows it, I knew she would choose Nile and lead on poor Noah That just hurt reading. I really hope something changes for him.

Memorable Quotes: “Okay, I’ve got it!” she said excitedly. “Let ’er rip.” I nodded. She took a deep breath and wiggled around in her chair like she was super uncomfortable. “Come on. I shared something no cowboy would ever admit. Lay it on me.” She rolled her eyes and sighed. “Fine. My favorite music is gangsta rap.” “Rap? Like hip-hop?” I confirmed. “Like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre. Biggie, 2Pac…” She kept going, unraveling like an onion. “Big Pun, Ja Rule, and even newer artists like Post Malone, Juice Wrld. And of course you can’t forget the badass ladies like Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott, and Lauryn Hill.” I stopped and stared as she flicked off name after name of artists I would have never in a million years thought she’d be into. “Biggie, Ja Rule?” I gasped for effect. “Who are you, woman?” I snickered. “If you tell anyone in our circles, I’ll totally deny it,” she fired back, her face completely serious, which was funny as hell. I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “Baby, your secret is safe with me. Juice Wrld? Never heard of them. A lot of the others I’ve listened to, and everyone knows who Snoop Dogg is, but that was definitely a surprise. What else?” She sipped her beer. “Nuh-uh, your turn.” I took a few bites and thought about it for a couple minutes.
I jolted and reached out and cupped his cheek. “I didn’t know this fear was festering under the surface.” He shrugged a shoulder. “I didn’t know it was either.” He wrapped his arms around my body, tucking me flat to his chest, his wrists crossed loosely at the base of my spine. “I guess because of the way things occurred, how we met and became attached, there’s been a part of me that has expected you to run. And after all that you’ve been through, I wouldn’t be surprised if you did.” I shook my head. “Erik, I’m not running. I made my choice weeks ago.”
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟📿💎🇬🇷🇳🇴🏴🇺🇲👰🏼♀️👰♂️
My thoughts:🔖Page 77 of 316 Episode 45 Kiss and Make Up 💕 SUTTON - This starts where the last book left off, the episode numbers did not restart. I was expecting the bomb at the end of the previous book to be resolved now, but in soap opera fashion it's being dragged out and shelved for bigger drama. 🔖175 Episode 54 Put Him in His Place 💕 ERIK - These scenes are contradictory and on my nerves.
There are a few issues, but nothing major. I'm not a fan of how they are portraying juvenile diabetes and I doubt that all these girls would be so willing to jump these guys' bones if they have a history of sexual trauma but I'm just gonna ignore that and keep going. The ebook comes with audio and I don't like Erik's POVs at all, he's fine for Erik but everyone else in his chapter has a heavy Swedish accent and they are supposed to be Montanans so when I read "came an American voice with a slight Midwestern accent," and in my head I hear a twang but then they sound like a foreigner with the audio, it's irritating and takes me out of the show. This cliff hanger was worse than the last one and I want to jump right into book 3 but I think I need to get back to my other book to be safe cause I might just finish it otherwise.
Recommend to others: Yes, especially if you have Kindle Unlimited.

5 star Review The Marriage Auction (Season 1, Volume 2) by Audrey Carlan
Volume 2 picks up where the previous volume ended, so if you haven't read volume 1, STOP as you need to read these in order. As with previous volume, there was so much going on in this book that I had trouble putting it down when work got in my way.
We continue to follow Faith, Savannah, Dakota and Ruby. Each woman has a different reason for entering into the Marriage Auction and that is what made this so entertaining. The characters were easy to relate to and their stories intriguing.
There were moments where I feared for our leading ladies as their past come back to haunt them and put in jeopardy their present relationships. There is a good balance of heat, intrigue and romance as the couples continue to learn more about each other.
This was well written and I cannot wait for volume three in the series.
One thing I didn't mention in my initial review is that the series and chapters are structured like a TV show. So, this book is considered Season 1—Episodes 38-66; I believe the story started as one of the Kindle Villa titles.
In this installment, truths are uncovered, personal histories are revealed, and the millionaires work hard to win over their intended partners. However, just like in all good soap operas, real life keeps getting in the way as good intentions go awry, mistakes are made, and the girls' enemies and personal struggles come to light. Despite the turmoil, decisions are made, and plans move forward.
It's interesting how these couples simultaneously feel like both slow-burns and insta-love. I'm invested in the story. My heart hopes that everyone will say yes and live happily ever after, but I'm not convinced that will happen (I hope I'm wrong).
In the words of Kristin Cavallari: "Drama, drama, drama." BUT I love the angst. The groveling, the declarations of love! I love that we're back with the same couples that we met in book 1. Some of these backstories are very tragic (check the TW), but it makes me cheer harder for these characters, hoping that their new relationships will survive the 3 year contract--and beyond!
I mentioned in my review of Book 1 that I had a love/hate relationship with the multiple POVs. It was MUCH easier to keep up in this book.
The spice was delicious and romantic and swoon-worthy. The author used some words that usually make me cringe, but I honestly didn't notice it--that's how smooth and lovely I think it was.
My favorite couple may have been Savannah and Erik, but Joel and Faith have taken that spot!!! They are so sweet and amazing together. Joel is everything faith needs and wants. He supports her, loves her, and cherishes her. There is nothing he wouldn't do for her and for Eden. I love them together! The other couples are great. Ruby is amazing! Who she chose is absolutely perfect for her. I do believe that Opal will end up with Noah. They fit and have chemistry. Ruby and Nile belong together. Madame Alana is my favorite character though. She's so supportive of her girls and goes to bat for them!!!! Jarod is scaring me. I think he's going to hurt savannah. And Aiden scares me for what he's planning for Faith!!
I’m highly invested in all four women/men’s lives as well as their families. Since indulging in the first book it’s one of those “oooh, what’s gonna happen next” type of plots. Every couple has a whole lot of drama to handle so even with the switching of different people you become just as invested as I am. If you’re nosey like I am (but don’t want no drama), you will enjoy each installment of this series.
4.5⭐️ (audiobook) i am officially obsessed with this series and i feel like i am binging a CW show. It is so dramatic and all the cliffhangers have me on edge. The romance and spicy scenes are also well done and not too much considering all the couples. I also love the audio narration with the different voice actors. Sutton’s voice is everything.
I was actually very disappointed in this one. The first book in this series has actually been one of my top reads so far this year. So I was super excited to read the rest of the series. And while I did read the first book as a physical book, when these became available to listen to on Kindle Unlimited, I immediately knew that I was going to listen to it. Well, I probably shouldn't have. I really should have just waiting for the physical copy because I was disappointed in the audiobook. I just felt like it didn't pull me into the story well. Yes, there was a full cast of characters. But I still don't think it made up for reading the physical book. I might try this one again, but I haven't decided yet.
I couldn’t stop listening to this book. I found every reason I could to have my earbuds in to find out what happened. The storyline is well-thought and keeps building. I have a feeling a shoe is about to drop and I’m really hoping my gut is wrong. Ready for book 3!
I liked this one even more than the first! Maybe because I have a grasp on all the characters. I am hook, line and sinker into all the couples except the twins—hopefully that story line improves in the next one!
The Marriage Auction Season 1 Vol 2 Audrey Carlan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Man oh man, he does one sit to write a review when I’m so desperate to start volume 3? If you’ve read my review from season 1, vol 1, you’ll know each of these characters, their reasons for attending or being part of the Marriage Auction are their own and very real, but reading their journey go from that night to moving in with their new partners, is like a real story.
Volume 2, was even better, if that was even possible. So I think I’m just going to leave this here, I’ve got one woman running, One discovering her whole past is a lie, one finding happiness for the first time, and one with double trouble…. See ya, I’m off to read volume 3!! 😘
This series follows four couples and their P.O.Vs, which can be confusing to remember each story line. I’m invested to finish each story at this point 🤷🏽♀️
It doesn’t even feel like I finished the second book of the series. The pace is slow moving since it is going through 8 POV. The dramatic cliffhangers def pushes me to go right into the next one.
