Isekai Metaller Vol. 1

Rate this book
Kasuga Ryo’s Isekai Metaller combines epic isekai adventure, heavy metal action, and hilarious comedy as a rock-obsessed hero battles dragons and werewolves to save a chaotic world.

In Isekai Metaller Volume 1, meet Alexi, a die-hard metalhead who, after getting electrocuted during his band’s farewell gig, wakes up in a world full of dragons, werewolves, and monsters that are just begging for a guitar solo. And no, the “shock” he gets entering this new world isn’t from the electrocution at his gig – it’s from realizing that, somehow, the afterlife isn’t quite as he imagined. Instead of a peaceful resting place, he’s been dropped into a land that metalheads would literally die for the chance to live in.

With his trusty “Flying V” guitar, a level 999 power boost, and a heart full of rock ‘n’ roll, Alexi decides it’s time to crank up the volume to eleven, and save this crazy new world. Dragons? Perfect for a shredding solo. Werewolves? Time to headbang into battle. This isn’t just any isekai – but one where the magic flows like electric riffs and every battle feels like a rock concert.

Kasuga Ryo combines hilarious comedy, epic fantasy, and metal madness into a totally unique adventure. If you love high-energy action, laugh-out loud moments, and a protagonist who’s just as ready to throw down with a dragon as he is to rock out on stage, Isekai Metaller Volume 1 is you new go-to read!

I'm always surprised when I meet someone else who knows who Yngwei Malmsteen is. It's another isekai with an over-powered protagonist gag series. In this case, the hero is a "metaller," a fan/musician of the metal genre. There's bits of references, mostly to songs or musicians.

The humor didn't land with me and since I'd categorize it more as a gag series, so there's not a ton of focus on the setting, characters, or plot. It makes the humor is pretty crucial, YMMV.

If there's any justice in this world, this will be the next isekai series to get adapted into anime.
