Growing up in Ghostlight Falls, Rebecca has seen her fair share of the unusual, but when she runs into three mysterious creatures hiding from their past, her curiosity leads her down a path she never expects.
Will their dark history get in the way of a bright future, or can Rebecca help Blabbo, Absurdo, and Angelina find a way to be free from Dr. Sinister forever?
They say Keep Portland Weird, but Ghostlight Falls is weirder. This is a shared world series set in the cutest little paranormal town in Oregon. There is a little bit of everything non-human, from shifters to sentient objects, and even a few alien encounters.
Nicole Parker is the author of creative and humorous romance stories. She is a 30-something California native who spends the great majority of her free time writing books, reading books, or organizing her ever growing TBR list. She also has a spouse, some kids, and pets, but this isn't about them. Nicole's books are funny, raunchy, silly, and most importantly full of good vibes and happy endings.
Thank you to Nicole Parker and the other authors of the Ghostlight Falls series for allowing me to be an arc reader. This is my honest review of Hello, Nurse!
Hellllllllllllooooo, Ghostlight Falls! There’s a new trio in town, and they’ve got their sights set on a certain nurse.
Blabbo, Absurdo, and Angelina are on the run and end up in Ghostlight Falls. There, they find local nurse, Rebecca, who may be just who they need to ensure their safety. But can they really outrun their past? And will Rebecca be able to help keep their family together?
This story was ridiculous and filthy and strangely (scarily?) nostalgic in the weirdest way.Parker’s ability to transform our Childhood memories into adult fantasies is really unnerving. And incredibly cool. The author’s note also provides info about the dialogue in the story which is super cool and made me appreciate it even more.
This was a fun and sexy read that had me laughing and smiling the entire time. I am absolutely hooked on Ghostlight Falls and cannot wait to meet the rest of the town.
I don't understand deciding to take a well known cartoon franchise, make a parody of it and then the story isn't good. It isn't even funny, haha, I'm watching a Scary Movie parody.
We have Yakko(Blabbo), Wakko(Absurdo),Dot(Angelina), Ralph the Security Guard(Rufus),Dr. Otto Scratchansniff (Doctor Sinister), Hello Nurse (Rebecca, she's still a nurse), Pinky (Peanut) and the Brain (Encephalon).
The smut wasn't great. Dot aka Angelina was especially not written well when it came to smut scenes as she's like the unwanted partner in a threesome where you know the other two people are more interested in each other. You could clearly tell Yakko(Blabbo) and Wakko(Absurdo) were the characters that had been intentionally planned all along to boing (lol, I just had to because when I was reading this story I was firmly in cartoon land as a former child who watched The Animaniacs in late 90s/early 2000s) Hello Nurse (Rebecca).
Then you get to the end and the author talks about taking dialogue from another author's story (they're friends) and using it as dialogue in this book as it was in the other story and then writing in the other parts and I want to say now all the disjointedness of the story makes sense but no, the whole story just wasn't good. And I think I'm even more mad because I saw the cover and was like haha 😂 , can't believe an author is doing this, I'm sure it will be funny and total mayhem like the show...but it wasn't.
And unless I missed them explaining somewhere, why did Blabbo and Absurdo suddenly turn into Jack and Harry??? How did Rebecca (Hello Nurse) find the lab?
Anyway, at least it counts towards my reading challenge and it was thankfully a short story.
Rebecca was absolutely a rolling with the punches kinda girl, and was wooed quickly by Blabbo, Absurdo, and Angelina. There were much darker themes in this book, like escaping a lab and some trauma history, but I liked that. I would have loved more getting to know each other moments, but it was a good novella.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: history and trauma and abuse, characters used as lab experiments as children and adults (past), kidnapping, confinement, murder, explosion, ritualistic sex, alcohol use
This was my first book in the Ghostlight Falls series, and it’s such a spicy and wacky ride! I didn’t watch the show that inspired this, so I’m sure I missed a lot of the references, but I wasn’t confused by any means! I’m so intrigued by the town and I can’t wait to learn more about all of the characters who live there. I’m even more excited to dive into the rest of the series now!
TROPES: FFMM Spicy Ritual Knotting Daring Escape
Thank you so much to Nicole Parker and all the Ghostlight Falls authors for sending me a copy for an honest review. 💖
Blabbo (leader of the group, stronger than he appears, always has a plan), Absurdo (flirty, accented, has a lip ring, and has more brawn than brain), and Angelina (thinks on her feet, talks to mice, doesn't wear a shirt because she's furry) have escaped from Dr. Sinister's lab... and they are in Ghostlight Falls hoping to make a home for themselves where they can be safe, once and for all. ("And there's nothing I won't do to keep my family safe.") To be safe, they know they may need to partake in a ritual - one that requires a human with demon blood.
That's where Rebecca comes in. Rebecca is a school nurse who is mostly human, and grew up in Ghostlight Falls. They've been keeping an eye on her, and finally it's time for their plan to happen. But the plan goes awry when they realize they just want one night with her, forgetting the ritual. That one night cost them too much time. Dr. Sinister made his way to them, and the whole town of Ghostlight Falls was briefly impacted. You'll have to read the book to find out just what happens there. I can't tell you all the fun stuff, now can I?
Blabbo, Absurdo, and Angelina manage to fight their way to escape the lab again - with some hiccups along the way. And when they get out, their girl is there waiting for them. Every good romance has to have a happy ending, right? And in their case, that happy ending means living in a water tower converted to a home.
Hello, Nurse! is part of the Ghostlight Falls universe. They say Keep Portland Weird but Ghostlight Falls is weirder. This is a shared world series set in the cutest little paranormal town in Oregon. There is a little bit of everything non-human, from shifters to sentient objects, and even a few alien encounters. Books are releasing throughout the month of September 2025.
This was the first book I read as an ARC reader for the Ghostlight Falls series, and I am thoroughly hooked. My poor husband may never see me fully come home from my trips to the weird little town, and that's okay. I could read an entire five book series just about these four alone.
Just like with all of my reviews, here are a few quotes from the book that I enjoyed. -"My eyes keep flitting around the dark space, but stop on two creatures in the corner." They are unlike anything I've ever seen, but at the same time, they're somehow familiar. I swear I've seen their shapes in the shadows, or maybe in my dreams?" -"You keep your desire locked away, buried under layers of protection. Don't ask for too much. Only take what they give. Do only what you know will succeed. You distrust desire and refuse to take risks on pleasure."
Look, based on the cover I thought this was going to be a weird wacky time. I was wrong. I mean it was also a weird time but more serious and beautiful than I expected.
This was a short novella that I absolutely flew through, but it packed a punch and all the emotions as well as all of the spice. There were some darker scenes in this book and I feel like I need a whole book about the big bad of the world at this point. I do wish we'd had some more character bonding and development, but hey I can suspend my disbelief and understand that when you know someone's right you know. Also I want to be chosen for a ritualistic ceremony now!
Please also read the authors note at the end because it was very interesting understanding where the concept for this book came from.
Overall this was just a quick and easy read with plenty of spice.
Small Business BookTok ARC Reviews (BookTome Edition): “Hello, Nurse!” by Nicole Parker
Note: This ARC was given to me for free by the author and I am reviewing this book voluntarily
🎶They’re Ghostlight Fall’s Maniacs, Running before the doc attacks! Getting ritualistic to the max, To save their own salami stacks! Mice that are brainy, Doctor is a pain-y, A supernatural lead lady! Ghostlight Fall’s Maniacs, check out the book stack!🎶
From the author that brought you the “Kyleverse” series comes the ninth book in the author-collaborated Paranormal Romance series “Ghostlight Falls” by Nicole Parker! This particular installment in the series is quite unique as it acts as an unexpected, but ingenious reimagining of a certain classic animated series from the 90’s! When reading this nostalgic parody, expect a ton of comedic references to the show that inspired the narrative and wacky, action-packed hijinks! Are you ready to check out some supernatural happenings in Ghostlight Fall? Then don’t miss out on this book when it hits online shelves on September 26, 2025!
Ok I know that this book is unique in the way that it was written. But I would just like to point out that for the record my name was used for a HOT FMC! Seriously IYKYK… these very unique and somewhat familiar (depending on your age) looking characters are so entertaining. By now we know that nothing is ever as it seems in Ghostlight Falls. This not-so-sleepy little town has some of the most spectacular residents! Every time I think that I have an idea of what is going to happen Author Nicole Parker manages to pull some sort of chaos out of thin air… and entirely change it up on me! Then factor in the pure unadulterated chemistry these characters have and BOOM you have a masterpiece! And I’m loving it! I cannot wait to continue to learn about all these residents and their stories!
Excited and thankful for being a part of the Ghostlight Falls arc team! This book was a quick, fun read. All of the books in the series are supposed to be short reads but I do wish I could’ve seen more of Rebecca, Angelina, Absurdo, and Blabbo!
Okay so I saw this on my main page on KU and I was intrigued lol. I will never see the cartoon the same haha! For a short read, it wasn’t bad at all. Not what I expected but that’s a good thing lol
Join me in scenic Ghostlight Falls, where the strange is normal, the frogs reign supreme and the Wonder Hole is always open!
I’m a sucker for a shared-world book series by multiple authors AND also for love stories that are quirky, open, loving and accepting. Ghostlight Falls is surely my dream destination.
This is my first full novella in the series (check my bio for the review of the introductory short story), and I absolutely loved it. Blabbo, Angelina and Absurdo are the furry triad of my dreams. I have no idea what sort of creatures they are, but I honestly don’t care. I know they’re loving, fight for their family and their safety, kinky and domineering. And when they stalk part-demon school nurse Rebecca to secure their futures, the plot and the spice kick into overdrive. The instant attraction for Rebecca leads to a scorching hot first meeting and completely changes their plans for the future - she’s no longer a tool they need. She’s just theirs.
This was such a fun, sexy, delight of a read. Rebecca is living the dream!
Thanks so much to the Ghostlight Falls team, Unfortunate Reads and Nicole Parker for the eARC!
Thank you to Nicole Parker and the other authors of the Ghostlight Falls series for allowing me to be an arc reader!
🚨 Paging Dr. Nostalgia! 🚨 Hello, Nurse! by Nicole Parker is the chaotic, horny throwback you didn’t know you needed. This short, spicy romp serves up camp, chaos, and just the right dose of nostalgia- like flipping through your mom’s old paperbacks while eating a popsicle in the summer of ‘98. It’s weird, it’s funny, it’s gloriously self-aware, and yes…it’s horny. If you’re craving something smutty and a little ridiculous, this one’s calling your name, STAT. 🩺💋
I was beyond excited to receive this in my first batch of ARCs for the Ghostlight Falls Street Team. Nicole Parker, you continue to amaze me with your brain. WHAT A NUTTY, GOOD TIME. I laughed so much and loved all the little easter eggs that reminded me of early 90’s cartoon mornings. All the cameos of our fav cartoon characters! I feel seen!
Zany, insany, out of your brainy, unhinged chaotic horniness with a surprisingly dark plot and an even more tender found family trope? (Um the MM scenes in this were making me emotional?? halp) I need the rest of this series immediately k thanks!
When creatures (suspiciously like the Animaniacs) break out of the lab that created them and hide out in Ghostlight Falls, local Rebecca, a part demon herself, gets caught up in their plan to stay free forever, with spicy results!
If you are a fan of the Animaniacs this might taint your childhood memories! So be warned! But, Blabbo, Absurdo and Angelina are the best kind of found family and bring Rebecca into their fold.
Hello Nurse is fast paced, spicy and emotional. Parker uses a style that is quickly engaging and makes you instantly like the characters you are rooting for. The one thing I’ll remember most about this book is the way Blabbo, Absurdo and Angelina cared for one another. Their little family and support of one another is really heartwarming!
This is a very spicy book, as mentioned, so prepare yourself for some group action! It is part of the Ghostlight Falls series of connected stand alone novellas, so keep an eye out for other books in this collection throughout September.
Hello Nurse is perfect for monster romance and smut readers looking for a side of cozy fall vibes from paranormal town Ghostlight Falls.
Hello, Nurse was a charmingly quirky story about three "sibling" lab experiments and their two animal friends escaping and trying to live their best life. Enter Rebecca, school nurse and demon descendant necessary for their continued survival on the outside. They need her help, and the best way to convince her is by seducing her, of course!
I do wish this story had been a little longer since I have some questions that weren't answered as fully as I'd have liked. I really wanted to see more of the dynamic developing between the three siblings and Rebecca, especially Angelina. She felt a bit like an afterthought at times, and I wanted to see more of her being involved in the relationship.
It was really interesting that the dialogue was taken from a friend's book (with permission!) and adapted for this story. It's kind of fun how different writers can take the same base set of dialogue and have entirely different concepts.
Ghostlight Falls is always a treat to explore, and this was a really silly, and downright filthy, new addition!
HELLOOOO NURSE 🩺🔥 Nicole Parker really said “here’s chaos, here’s spice, here’s absolute nonsense but you’re gonna eat it up anyway” and I did.
I was lucky enough to grab this ARC in the Ghostlight Falls series and let me tell you.. SPICE. UNHINGED ENERGY. CREATURES THAT DON’T MAKE SENSE BUT I LOVE THEM?
Like… excuse me?? What even are blabblo, absurdo, and Angelina?? I don’t know. Nicole never told me. BUT THE BOYS HAVE KNOTS so who even cares at this point?? 😂
Our FMC Rebecca basically stumbles into instant attraction at the bar while these science experiment escapees have been lurking in the shadows for three weeks like, “hehe nurse mine now.” Totally normal. Totally fine.
Also shoutout to the unexpected Molotov cocktail scene because nothing screams romance like a cheeky little explosion, am I right??
I cackled. I blinked in confusion. I fanned myself. 10/10 chaotic spice, pls authors throw the next Ghost Light Falls book at my face immediately.
Well Hellloooo Ghostlight Falls and the start of having my childhood stories adapted into the adult world. (As if some of the cartoons we watched in the 80s and 90s weren’t already hiding many adult innuendos, here we are, in black and white, no innuendos, just words filled with spice) This is a quick read with not a lot of story and a ton of spice. We follow Blabbo, Absurdo and Angelina (lab pups) and they require something from the towns school nurse, Rebecca. Rebecca seems to be comfortable with the oddities of GLF and one night at the bar she introduces herself to the trio. From there … well … you’ll just have to grab the book yourself to see what fantasies and spicy scenes play out.
Definitely an interesting read.
Thank you Ghostlight Falls authors for the ARCs, while these were provided to me, the opinions in this review are mine alone and do not reflect anyone else’s influence.
Okay so this was my introductory book to the Ghostlight Falls series and I think my lack of enjoyment comes from two things, 1. I’ve never consumed any animaniacs media (I didn’t even realise that was the reference until I checked out some other reviews), 2. I found it hard to bond with the characters. Hello, Nurse! Was a fun spicy read and definitely fit into the quirky vibe of the series, it wasn’t to my personal taste but maybe a lot of that came from not knowing the character references and the length of the story being a bit too short to get to know the characters more.
Check it out if you like; Short quirky reads, Unique settings, Why Choose Spice
Disclaimer: I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
I was honored to read Hello, Nurse! I enjoyed reading it. Spicy level: 🌶🌶🌶 I felt like the story was happening too fast. The spicy scene happened too quickly. From the bar to the water tower. Felt like there wasn't enough gap. It felt rushed. There were plot holes. For example, how did Rebecca, Peanut, and Encephalon get together or how she found the lab. I wanted more about why they had to do the ritual. Why was it so important. I also felt like there could of been more paragraphs instead of one giant paragraph. One large one could have been broken down into smaller ones to make it easier to know what is going on.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I used to watch the Animaniacs when I was a young kid. So, this steamy adult take on the Animaniacs is one that I never had on my BINGO card. I do give props to the author for the reimagine of the Animaniacs.
I did like the why choose trope of this book. There were plenty of steamy moments to be found. The issue though that I really struggled with this book is that I never formed any kind of close connection to any of the characters in this book. Try as I might.
The found family trope is another one that can be found in this book. While I might not have liked this book, it is still a good addition to this series.
First, thank you so much to all the authors of the Ghostlight Falls series for the ARC!
This was a spicy, quick fun take of the animaniacs. The found family trope is my favorite and seeing their bond was heartwarming. Especially the lengths Blaboo would go to for his family. My only issue was with the ritual. I don't understand the importance of the ritual and why it was a nescessitiy. Other than that, if you are interested in how it would be to take the animaniacs, I recommend checking this out. ;)
Oh my! This was so spicy. I loved how it started off right away. This book was great for reminiscing the nostalgia. It had the spice, plot and drama needed.
Rebecca is a school nurse who is special, Blabbo, Angelina and Absurdo need her. Doing a light bit of stalking and pulling out the stops they can have her. They will do anything to protect their family. It was great getting the found family aspect.
This was such a quick read but 100% loved it. The NSFW art is amazing! I wish it was longer but it was a good quick read.
This opened way darker than I expected with the experimental background of the "monstrous" characters, but it makes really quickly to the "needs a mysterious *ritual*." I actually wish there had been space to expand the story and characters because now I'm very curious about how Parker would have done the whole backstory. More spicy than cozy and without much development about Ghostlight Falls but a fun, fast read.
Blabbo, Absurdo, Angelina and Rebecca are an unlikely quad but work so well. Blabbo, Absurdo and Angelina are new to Ghostlight Falls after being told they would fit in well there and they do, but they need a human. Enter Rebecca. Like all other Nicole Parker books I read this so quick and left no crumbs. It had me engaged and quick to find out what happens next! I love being in GLF it's the best for this cozy season!
Are my favorite authors slowly dirtying up stuff from my childhood? Yes. Am I here for it? Also yes!
This book is just like an episode of Animaniacs. Short sweet and to the point. Got right down to the nitty gritty and holy hotness. Bladdo giving dom vibes. Absurdo loves to eat. Angelina is here for a good time. And our pretty little nurse is just so....giving 😉 . Nicole kept to characters we know an love but make it smut.
What a wild ride! I had a great time reading this one. Even though I think I watched maybe 3 episodes of Animaniacs as a kid, I was able to parse out all the references with the context, and I was so much fun! It's so smutty and has a plot that'll keep you on your toes. The background on how this book was written is so interesting! I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so just make sure you check the author's note at the end when you're done reading!
This was another wonderful and spicy addition to this multi-author series and this was a bit of throwback fun. Blabbo, Absurdo and Angelina burst into Ghostlight Falls looking to escape their traumatic pasts and end up grabbing tight to semi-human nurse, Rebecca. Their attraction to Rebecca was instant and the romance, smoking hot. Expect to get caught up in this fast paced, emotional, chaotic, action-packed, heartwarming and poly-spice romance. Good fun!
This was a fun time!!! What an interesting concept using character dialogue from another book for a character and building with that in mind. The town of Ghostlight Falls is full of fun characters escaping the lab! Blabbo, Absurdo, and Angelia are complete with their human and demon blooded Rachel.
If you’ve ever looked at the Animaniacs and thought “Smash” and refused to elaborate-this book is for you!
How this book came into being was so very neat and I loved the creativity and exercise in creative writing. Obviously fast paced, as the story is only about 50 pages, the characters introduced are fun and likable. A lovely foray into the wonderhole that is the Ghostlight Falls series!
We have Blabbo, Absurdo, and Angelina as the three characters based off of you know what. Rebecca is a nurse who just so happens to run into the three of them. The three of them are no exception to the experiments that seem to be going on in Ghostlight Falls. This book was so clever and I loved every minute of it!
