A week before Christmas, and all through office not a soul is stirring, not even a mouse. Holly is working overtime, cold and lonely and broke. Across the hall, Declan is lonely too, and thinking this Christmas is going to be a joke. Then one blustery night Holly’s car won’t start and Declan is there to help with a little love in his heart.

Jasinda Wilder is too kind to give her fans a short and sweet with a little bit of sexy Christmas novella. Dec the Holls
The story is about Declan and Holly- get it Declan- Holly, Dec the Holls? I think it's cute! Anyway, Holly is a single mother who works entirely too hard and Declan is her boss. Right around the holidays, Holly has a really rough night and Declan happens to be there and lends a hand. Declan wonders how it is he's never noticed his beautiful employee before? The more he talks with her, the more he likes her. He wants to pursue something with her. Holly is hesitant. She needs her job. She has her kids to think about. But Declan is pretty irresistible... Will she play it safe, or take a risk on something that could be great?
This was a nice Holiday story. I liked the kids in it and how Holly always thought of them first. It was a little insta-love, but it's a novella so that's not unexpected. Overall, it was a good read. <3
Holly is going through a rough day when her boss, Declan, ends up helping with her car and saving her night. In that moment they begin seeing the other under a whole new light, and this will be the Christmas where everything will change for them.
If you’re looking for a (very) short Christmas romance, written by the talented Jasinda Wilder this is a great story. A sexy and romantic short story if you’re in need a very quick reading. And it’s free on Amazon, so you really don’t have an excuse not to read it.
Dec the Holls was a cute little story. I really enjoyed it, even though I'm not a big fan of insta love stories.
This was the story of Declan and Holly. Declan is Holly's boss. Holly is a single mother of two kids. Declan had never noticed Holly before, perhaps because he used to be in a relationship. But one night, when her car won't start and he comes on her rescue, he wonders how was it possible that he hadn't noticed her before.
They start flirting, but Holly doesn't want to risk anything, because having this job is important to her, since her children are her priority [applause for that!]. Holly isn't up for one night stands or casual relationships. Declan may be a bachelor, but he grew up practically alone and feels quite lonely for a single man, so he needs to convince her to give him a chance, since he would also take this seriously.
Apart from the insta love thing, it was a nice Christmas story. Loved the family element that was strong on this novella. The reactions, thoughts and feelings were also accurate and realistic, so I also appreciated that. Thank you Jasinda Wilder for this free novella! :)
3.5 Wishes Come True Stars * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free Sometimes little stories can touch on big concerns... this one did just that in a very sweet, caring way.
There are many of us... a little older, a little insecure about how we would be with a new person... Someone who did not know us where we fresh and young... bodies at our perkiest best... Whether it would be from age, childbearing, weight fluctuation, it doesn't matter. We, as women, are always so hard on ourselves about our bodies. So when a story approaches the issue with care and kindness... kudos for that.
There was, of course, more than what I just mentioned. There was a lonely fantasy guy, you know, a rich handsome owner of the company seeing for the first time the hard-working employee.
Christmas time is the backdrop and both due to circumstances have time to see each other clearly, seeing people for who they are without the titles or positions. There are adorable children, wishes shared with Santa, and a very happy ending for all.
This was very fast reading, a true everyday fantasy, and some actual thoughts about real issues between men, women, and bosses.
This was a really wonderful, sweet but short Christmas romance between a boss and his employee. They just happen to have more things in common than they think and it just takes a little Christmas magic (or a very astute eight year old) to get things rolling.
The book opens with Holly having the worse day ever and I did really love Declan coming the rescue even if it was a bit cliché! She really needed someone and he fit the bill.
They are just perfect for each other but Holly's a Mom and she has to be responsible...even if she hates it. Declan tries to be understanding but it's hard for him too.
And boy, are these two hot together! I thought it was great that they both found out what they've been missing!
My main complaint is ~as always~ the good ones are too short...and this one is really short. But it was free so thank you Jasinda Wilder!
And the ending...ugh, did JW really have to go there? It would have been so much better if she hadn't.

♥ "Merry Christmas, Mom. I told you Santa would come through."
Ya know those times when you amidst writing a review and the words just come out forced? Sentences kind of choppy? Whereas other times the words just seem to flow effortlessly from your mind...and you look back and think, "damn that is exactly what I'm trying to convey!" Well, this book read like those times when things just couldn't come out quite right. Sentences seemed really short, choppy, almost elementary. The adjectives were odd for the descriptive use they're intended.
In a nutshell, the story just didn't capture me. When a book is 42 pages long, ya gotta capture the reader quick and I simply gave up at 20%. I know this was a freebie and nice of her to put it together for her readers this holiday season but...it's not her best work.
I was in the mood for a steamy quick holiday read. I'll keep looking, apparently...
This is a sweet little holiday read and a freebie, and I can't complain about a free holiday gift.
I enjoyed this sweet little read about a single mother struggling to get by, falling for her sexy boss. What can I say I am a sucker for cheesy holiday stories. I love books with kids and this one didn't disappoint - I loved the "Santa" scene.
I know the holidays are pretty much over, but I do recommend if you are look for a quick sweet story.
Holly Wright is a tired single mom of two. She works at Montrose Logistics, & works long hours trying to make ends meet & provide for her kids. One evening while leaving work her car won't start and she gets help from her sexy, breathtakingly gorgeous boss Declan Montrose. He is young, wealthy,& very successful. He is the only person at work that works longer hours than Holly.
After being around Declan Holly realizes he is more approachable & down to earth that she realized. He is also charming & compassionate, and seems to have a thing for Holly. He wants Holly & is very persistent. Eventually Holly decides to give Dec a chance. I thought this was a cute, enjoyable Christmas novella.
It was a really nice holiday story. It was very cute and enjoyable and the best part is that it's FREE!
Holly have been working for Dec for 2 years. She's a single mother of 2. When one night her car wouldn't start and her night went from bad to Shitty she gets help from her sexy boss. What happens when they start having feelings for each other. Overall a really great short story.
Cute, very sexy and short. I just wish I got some closure, this really needed an epilogue. Even if not an epilogue, a cut and dry ending. I don't mind the insta-love in a novella, and it was sweet here, so 3 stars.
I love a Christmas quickie. OK, that didn't come out quite right, but basically, I like quick reads filled with good Christmas cheer and memorable characters that fill me up with wondrous feels.
Being my first book from Jasinder Wilder, I was interested to see how I would like her work, and I gotta say, I wasn't exactly wowed with this one. To be fair, it is a novella so it's not really fair to judge an author on a quickie read.
This novella is simple and pretty straightforward. What you expect is what you get and whilst I would have liked some more depth and a little bit of an organic feel to the development in the romance department for the two mcs, I can't really complain much about this freebie.
While working late, Holly find herself sitting in her broken down car and her hot boss tapping on the window, offering to help her out for the night. But Declan didn’t realize just how attractive his employee of two years was. Until now. But for Holly, her two kids are her focus and have to be put first.
Dec has his work cut out for him, if he wants to earn a place in Holl’s heart – but everyone needs to take a risk every now and then.
This was a cute Christmas romance. Since it is a novella be prepared for some insta-love, but for stories like this it should be anticipated since you only have so much space and no one wants to read about two people that just sort of like each other. This was a fun read and a great one to add to your list of holiday reads.
I found that I didn’t care for this book. The story didn’t really have a chance to grab me and I was really hoping it would. I could see myself probably liking both Dec and Holly if given more time.
There are some books by Jasinda Wilder in my TBR list but haven't had a chance to read them. And I'm glad that I picked this book for my first read.
This is a very cute novella. Really the right choice to be read in holiday and Christmas season like this. It's simple, to the point, and really really sweet
I love the story and the characters
I'm not a big fan of 3rd person POV books, but I have no complain reading this. Very enjoyable read!
This review is from: Dec the Holls (Kindle Edition)
This book was a wonderful Christmas gift for all the readers who love Jasinda' s stories. Holly a single mom and Declan a lonely boss find each other the week before Christmas, she had worked for him for a couple years and he had not noticed her before. Holly fought hard to protect herself and her children from getting hurt, but there was all the Christmas magic to help this couple along.
Jasinda pens an incredible love story, with enough heat to have the reader feeling every emotion and every touch the characters make. This is an incredible gift, and Jasinda' s books, never disappoint.
What a lovely surprise when Jasinda announced this free novella for Christmas.
This novella tells us the story of single parent Holly, when she is down on her luck her boss Declan comes to her rescue. He invites her and her two children to a Christmas party, Holly' s daughter asks Father Christmas for a boyfriend for Holly. Can Father Christmas deliver?
I love a nice Christmas romance as much as the next girl but this was a disappointment. A short story that was such a hastily put together, over-the-top cheese feast, that was not worth the time to read it.
Honestly I read this two days ago and can only remember one thing about it. Holly worked for Declan for TWO years and he has never noticed her before. How is that instalove? Puuuleeese.
Dec & Holly's story is just that, a Christmas Miracle, except told in a steamier way. A fun Holiday read to put a Christmas smile on your face, no Scrooge's allowed when reading this book.
