So over this series.

Got to 56% and just gave up. I made it to book 12 of however many billions are in the series but the writing just keeps going downhill I’m afraid.
Just bored to be honest.
Sorry, I hate leaving bad reviews because I understand that it can be damaging for the author, but the characters just have no depth and the writing is weirdly child-like considering the topic.

This is book twelve in the Dark Slayers MC series and it's keeping up the tradition of being a book that I can highly recommend. The author, Aria Ray, has an inspiring knack for delivering a well written, totally original storyline with strong characters that you can't help but fall in love with. She gives a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of the Dark Slayers MC and gives us a rugged, sexy hero who is very protective of the one he loves. He will bend the laws and go through anything to protect the person he loves. This book starts out by introducing us to Norman, a person we soon find out is twisted and sociopathic. He has just woken up and is in his kitchen making himself breakfast. As he's doing this, he reflects on the past things he's seen as a private contractor in the Middle East. The bombs, blood and gore would probably put someone off their breakfast, but not him because he'd seen it so often that he was now immune to it. He took an early retirement and now has all the time in the world to do as he likes. He finishes up making his breakfast and as he sits down to enjoy it, he hears someone crying. He pulls his laptop over and puts the news on, turning up the volume to drown out the sound. He eats his breakfast, cleans up and assembles a food tray consisting of two slices of dry toast, an apple, and a liter of water. He walks down a long hallway until he comes to a door with a biometric lock on it. He places his finger on the pad and unlocks the door. He enters and smiles at the extremely thin woman crouched on the floor. He asks if she's slept well to which she replies that he asks her that every day and it still the same answer ... it's impossible to sleep on this hard floor. She's in a makeshift cage and he squats down on the floor outside the cage placing the tray out of her reach. She is covered in bruises, but he doesn't feel guilty because they came about during their "love play" and were delivered for his enjoyment plus he also has bruises and bite marks, although those were from her trying to escape. She asks him if he could just let her go, she's done everything he's asked her to do and he promised he would. He tilted his head to the side and stared at her, but in his mind he was thinking about everything he planned to do to her before granting her her final release. We find out that he grabbed her from the side of the road as she walked down it because her car had broken down. He tells her that she needs to dance to earn her dinner. He watched her dance and reflected on the thousands of women who looked at his scars with disgust, including the forty-seven online dating matches that saw him but kept on walking past him. You see he had a large facial scar that marred half his face. So instead of allowing women to walk all over his dignity, he stole theirs. This wasn't the first abduction nor would it be his last. Next we meet Crystal Connor an up and coming actor living in "tinsel town," Los Angeles. She's entering her apartment, soaking wet and her roommate/best friend Maria asks her what happened to her. She tells her that she will explain everything after she gets a shower. She dries off, slips on a robe and goes to the living room. She sits on the couch and only begins talking once her hands are wrapped around the latté Maria fixed her. Her friend asks her if she and the male lead actor are now a thing. Crystal tells her that she and Stewart are not a thing. She explained that Stewart and the lead female actor, Patricia, were fooling around near the end of the shoot. Patricia happened to catch him cheating and broke up with him very publicly at the wrap party. So he grabbed Crystal as his back-up date at the party and they left the party together. Then she tells Maria that she didn't realize how drunk Stewart was until they were on the road. He was driving his Bentley and was raging non -stop about Patricia when he lost control, crashing them into a lake. That was all that happened. Maria tells her that she is being portrayed as a drug addict. She asked who did she hear that from. Maria turns her laptop to face Crystal and she sees a morning talk show talking about Stewart taking her to a drug rehab center after she had had a cocaine induced seizure. She got sick to her stomach when the talk show people said it was her seizure that caused the accident. Crystal turns to Maria and tells her that this means no one is going to hire an actor with a substance abuse problem. Then she tells Maria that she needs to think all of this over and come up with a plan because no one is going to believe her about what really happened. Maria tells her that maybe now isn't a good time to figure this out, that she needs a break from everything to clear her head so she should consider sorting out her grandfather's house. He died over three months ago and she still hadn't worked through her grief about it. Crystal agrees that she should probably head to Griffinsford before the reporters learn where she lives and start harassing her. So Maria helps her pack for her trip home. Then we meet Doug Wellington, aka Hash, a prospect for the Dark Slayers MC and his best friend, Fred. Fred used to be a fellow prospect for the Slayers but made some really big mistakes and was kicked out by one of the patched members. Though he does have a meeting later that day with Storm, the President of the Dark Slayers. He and Hash are shooting hoops as he waits for his appointment time. Hash was telling him what to say and do to win his way back into the good graces of the Slayers. While they're playing Fred asks Hash if he heard about Crystal Connor. He said he hadn't. You see Hash and Fred both went to the same high school as Crystal. They were a grade older than Crystal but that didn't stop Hash from having a very huge crush on her even though all she did was ignore them. Fred tells him that he heard from all the bloggers that she's hooked on cocaine and did a stint in rehab. Hash tells him that he really doesn't remember her and to stop talking about it because it was generating bad karma. We go back to Crystal who is driving back home to Griffinsford. She stops at a local gas station and convenience store where she grabs a few groceries. She steps out to fill up her red convertible with gas when she notices a large, creepy bald man with a scar running down the side of his face watching her leaning on his older model light blue pickup truck. She gets nervous, finishes filling her tank and jumps back in her car quickly pulling out of the gas station. She gets to her grandfather's house and starts looking around, she's surrounded by bittersweet memories of her grandfather. Suddenly, there's a loud banging on the door. She figures that one of the neighbors must have seen her car turning in the driveway because it was pretty distinctive and everyone knew it. She answers the door only to discover that it's the creepy guy from the gas station. She tells him that today is not a good day for visitors and he tells her that he's not a visitor. She tries to slam the door and he puts his boot in the doorway, preventing her from doing that. She takes off running towards the back door. He tackles her to the ground and when she's falling, she knocks over a glass shelf that holds all her grandfather's fishing trophies. She quickly grabs a large shard of glass from the broken shelf but he wrestles it away from her. He is pinning her to the floor and telling her how beautiful she is. He goes on to tell her that since beautiful women, such as herself, don't give normal men chances, he's going to make his own opportunity She's going to spend twenty four hours with him and if by the end of it, she doesn't like him then he's going to let her go. He stands and pulls her up with him.. She tries to convince him that this isn't the way to start a relationship and that she's too busy right now to deal with him for twenty four hours. She can meet him at a restaurant later on in the week and they can have dinner together. He tells her that she needs to come along with him or he'll throw her over his shoulder. She makes a run for the door but he snags her long hair and pulls her to his chest. As she's struggling to get away he's fumbling with something in his coat pocket and before she knows it he has a sweet smelling rag over her nose and mouth; she blacks out. He puts her over his shoulder and carries her out. We flip back to Hash who has got a week off from work and he intends to use that time to relax and go hunting. He's going up to a cabin that one of the Slayers wife owns and they all use it for vacationing. It's really secluded and nestled in a lot of woods. He rides to the cabin on his motorcycle and tosses his bag of clothes on the bed. He immediately heads towards his locker that each club member has out there that contains their hunting gear and rifles. All the Slayers do a lot of hunting and fishing out there. He pulls on his hunting pants, his reversible jacket (it flips between camo and orange), straps his hunting knife on, grabs his rifle and heads out to do some deer hunting. Before too long he finds some deer tracks and starts following them. He trails them until he encounters a very large buck grazing. He lines up his shot, but before he can pull the trigger he hears a loud, woman's scream. The noise frightens the deer away and Hash starts heading towards where the scream sounded like it originated from. He expects to see someone being mauled by a bear but instead he finds an almost naked woman come tearing out of a cluster of trees. He can't even say anything before she's grabbing his jacket and asking to help her. That there's a man hunting her and he's totally crazy. He stays looking at only her face, though he longs to look at her body. He tells her that he'll protect her but she needs to quiet down so he can hear her attacker approaching. He takes off his jacket and turns it to the camo side so she can blend with her surroundings when they get out of there. It will also keep her warm. She tells him that they need to run that he has a gun but he tells her that he needs to make sure that the guy doesn't gun them down when they run plus he has a gun as well. He tells her to grab his hunting knife just in case he goes down she has something to protect herself with. He starts looking in the direction she came from and he sees some birds shoot up into the air from behind a boulder. He lines up his gun and a large bald man appears from around the boulder. Just as he's about to squeeze the trigger for the kill shot Crystal screams that that's him. He ends up winging him and he takes off running in the opposite direction. They take off for the cabin and Hash realizes that Crystal doesn't have any shoes on in this rough terrain so he picks her up and carries her down the mountainside. They reach the cabin and he finds her some women's clothes because Storm and his wife stay there so often that she leaves some clothes there. They have a conversation where she introduces herself as Crystal and he tells her that he's Hash. She asks what kind of name is Hash and he explains that it's his club name; he's prospecting for the Dark Slayers. He tells her the origin of the Slayers and that they're not outlaws. He tells her that they're going to go to the hospital once she's dressed and they'll contact the police for her. He tells her that he's not sure if she remembers him or not but they went to the same high school, he's Doug Wellington. She says that she thinks she remembers him. That he had a friend who talked non stop and that he made that cute little robot one year for the science fair. She's on the brink of breaking down and Hash promises her that he and his club will move heaven and earth to find this guy and bring him to justice. They get to the hospital and Hash calls Storm to call their friend at the police department. He quickly explained the situation to Storm and he was coming as well. Crystal is constantly holding Hash's hand and won't let it go, he's becoming her protector which is fine by him for as long as she needs him. Detective Jeff Jefferson, their MC's friend, arrived and interviewed Crystal after first talking with Hash to get his version._The Detective tries to get Crystal to go back to the woods she escaped from to lead them to the lair she was kept at. Hash defends her and tell the Detective that there's no way he's letting her go back out there and be basically used like bait. Storm eventually agrees with him and they decide to put her up at their MC's clubhouse where she can be protected. He shows her to the room at the clubhouse that's been prepared for her and he tells her that he needs to get going so he can show the Detective the area he found her before the daylight fades but he's leaving her in good hands. He explains that one of his brothers' wife was going to take care of her and show her around. She tells him that she doesn't need a babysitter to which he tells her that once he became her protector, the Slayers temporarily adopted her. He gets a clear indication that she's really into him and he tries to discourage her because he knows that she's going back to LA to continue with her career. He goes downstairs and heads out with everyone to go search the mountainside.Later Crystal makes it downstairs and talks with Rosie, the Slayers' bartender and it's during a conversation with her that she meets Sherry, Hash's ex girlfriend. Sherry apparently has nothing nice to say about Hash and all she does is put him down, especially saying that he will never become a patched member of the Dark Slayers. It's now four days later and the men ate finally back from searching and they found absolutely no trace of Crystal's abductor or where his hideout is. There's some grumbling among the searchers' ranks as well as some of the town folk that it's all a publicity stunt perpetrated by Crystal to draw attention to herself and her soon to be released movie. Hash and Storm don't believe this is the case and agree to keep looking into it. Hash and Crystal are having a private conversation between themselves where she confesses that she's doing alright during the day but when night time comes she can't fall asleep because all she sees when she closes her eyes is her abductor getting his hands on her again. Hash offers to sleep with her and it's really the beginning of the end for his resolve not to get involved with her physically and emotionally. Here is where I'll leave you and you'll have to get the book to discover what happens next. Let's just say that things really heat up between Crystal and Hash. There is also a surprising twist that put a serious spin on the whole abduction story. So, again, you'll need to get the book to find out if they ever get to Evie and whether the abductor is ever caught. There's also the story of Crystal and Hash's romance, will it blossom into more? Is Hash gonna become a patched member of the Slayers? Whew! You definitely need to get the book to find out these things.Plus, I'll say it again, I definitely recommend getting this book as well as the rest of the books in this series, it's totally worth it for the fantastic, original storylines and lovable characters. There's also the hot and sexy bad boy bikers that exist in each and every story. Need I say more?!.

Fair warning there are definitely some trigger warnings namely kidnapping, sexual slavery, and sexual abuse. If that's not your thing you won't get past the first chapter. This book is like a soap opera thriller complete with deranged villain, dumb heroine, and hero with a chivalry complex; almost like it tries to take on more than it can chew. The dialogue can be super long winded and at times boring as is the romance beyond the bed for the main leads. There are several inconsistencies such as Fred being described as having brown hair/brown eyes and then later having long blond hair. The author also tends to switch diction a lot with Hash; he sounds far too intellectual for a biker or someone who is not educated beyond high school. He seems to have a lot of advanced knowledge about things and sometimes when he talks to Fred he sounds like a normal biker. The bikers in general of this "MC" are way too intellectual they use words like "infantile" not that that is a bad thing, but it's hard to think of these dudes as B.A. when they sound like a bunch of nerds. Don't expect the traditional respect or power structure that you find in a normal MC either. Hash as a prospect showed a lot of disrespect and obvious lack of control with his President. The twist in the plot was dragged out way too long and honestly was a bit obvious as well. I Literally HATED Fred his character was totally unnecessary except as a foil to Hash.

So the villain is a diabolical certifiable sociopath. As I mentioned above he does all of those things and has been getting away with it for years until he picks the wrong girl to be his pet. Crystal is a B-list actress who is struggling to make it and when she thinks she's had a break it all goes up in flames. To be clear she's kind of dumb as her whole snowball into career hell could have been avoided if she simply told the dude "no" and walked away, but this idiot gets into a car knowing the guy has been drinking all night effectively ended the night swimming out of a pond leaving her reputation in taters. She is smeared in public and her career is over and the guy gets off scot-free. Way to go girl...not, but it is the catalyst that brings her back into town and in the kidnapper's cross-hair; where she again proves she's dumb by stupidly opening the door having already had a previous run in at the gas station with him; this chick has zero self preservation. There are so many dumb things this girl does that it's really hard not to typecast her as a dumb blonde. All hair and no brain. It's also mentioned almost redundantly how beautiful/ pretty she is and how she's humble about her beauty and yet on several occasions she admits to be aware she's so beautiful and that being beautiful is important to her. Hash has always had a thing for Crystal to the point of infatuation; he claims to see beyond her beauty but all he really ever talks about is how beautiful she is and at the same time he uses her attractiveness against her. Their argument about his sister is so extra and dumb that I literally skipped that whole thing. To be real honest I was not feeling their romance it was very unstable from the get go and at times super droll. I also had no love for either of the main characters they were super basic and their character traits beyond the same repetition of being beautiful and intelligent were not very fleshed out. The story has a good plot but I do think it loses a lot because of the way it's written and poor character development. This had the potential to be a decent thriller romance, but the finesse was just not there.

I absolutely love this series by Aria Ray. Hash is a prosect and seems to be the sweetest, most caring Dark Slayer there is. Crystal is an actor who has come to clean out her grandfather’s house and is abducted and held hostage for a few days. Luckily, she escapes and runs right into Hash while he is on vacation. The sparks are there, and Hash does everything is his power to be there for Crystal and protect her through this whole ordeal. Where Crystal sees a hero, Hash only sees it as him doing the right thing.

When things don’t add up and people start to doubt Crystal, will Hash be able to make people see what he saw or does everything think Crystal is just putting on an act? Twists, secrets, deception, suspense, mystery, and truths – make this fun to figure out what is going on! I have to say that I am not a fan of Fred’s (Hash’s best friend) but I can see there will possibly be a story about Fred and his best friend’s little sister April in the near future! Hash is the 12th book in the Dark Slayers MC series. I love this series because the MC is about doing good for the right reasons. They are still badass bikers, but many of them are also former military and carry baggage from deployments and the atrocities of war that they have experienced. In Hash, we have a smart, driven, loyal prospect and every women's fantasy dream man. He is a true hero to Crystal, a woman he had a crush on in high school who moved on to become a somewhat successful actor. What he saved her from, though, is a definite blot on the town of Griffinsford. With drama, action, scorching romance, suspense, and MC characters that make your panties melt, Hash is an excellent addition to the Dark Slayers MC series. I can hardly wait for more books in this series!

This is the 12th book in this incredible series, and this is Hash and Crystal’s journey. Hash has a huge crush on Crystal in high school, and she left town to follow her dreams in becoming an actress. Crystal is having a tough time in Hollywood, and she returns to her hometown to settle her grandfathers’ estate. Hash is busy being a prospect for the Dark Slayers, as well as having guardianship of his orphaned sister, and he will do whatever he must to protect those he loves, and he cannot believe his luck when Crystal runs into him, and she needs protection. This is a well written story which has drama, action, romance, suspense, danger, intrigue, mystery, and love, which leads to a steamy riveting page turner.

Everyone of these books are epic. Best to be read in order as the storylines intersect between books. The characters are well developed and the storyline is well thought out. This book had a very interesting plot twist that I was so not expecting! Hash and Crystal are a dream couple, they communicate well with one another. When Crystal literally ran into Hash running for her life in the forest he couldn’t believe who he had found. They knew each other from school when they were younger. She had left to go to Hollywood to become an actor. Now he needed to find out why she was running in the forest?.

The Biker and the Movie Star

After leaving Hollywood behind due some untrue stories circulating about her, Crystal headed home to settle her grandfather’s estate and had some life decisions to make. She got a welcome home she wasn’t expecting when she was kidnapped by an insane serial killer. Hash was going to enjoy a week of getting away but when out hunting in the woods a mostly naked women runs to him with a man hot on her trail.

Hash becomes Crystal’s savior and protector all the while this maniac is still on the loose vowing to take Crystal back. This was a who-done-it that was a big page turner that wouldn’t let me put it down. I can’t wait to see what this author has next.

Hash has a crush on Crystal Connors in high school, not that she noticed him back then. She left for the bright lights of Hollywood. At the start of his vacation, he is in the woods, he never expected he to come running at him in the woods with little on. A man had abducted him her and she needed him to protect her.

Hash will do anything that needs to be done to protect Crystal. The more time they spend together the closer they get. Will he get his heart broken when she leaves again?

I loved this latest addition to the Dark Slayers MC, Hash is a bigger sweetheart than some of the other guys.

This is the 12th book of the the Dark Slayers. This book is completely compelling and entertaining. It pulls you in from the start. The story revolves around Crystal and Hash. He’s had a big ol’ crush on her Singh school. Crystal took no notice of Hash and left for a big life in Hollywood. Hash is on vacation and who comes running, almost naked towards him in the wood - yup it’s her. Crystal was actually abducted and running from her abducted and runs towards him for help, not having a clue she was running towards a boy from high school. Hash will do anything to protect her.

A very mixed up trope with mc meets serial killer but it really works.

Hash just isn’t your average mc alpha male - being far more thoughtful, introspective and aware than many of his counterparts, her still has the alpha male badassness thing for him too.

Crystal was a little less easy to grasp, the whole movie start thing being a little light on content and her being accused of being into drugs was very quickly washed over which made the first introductory chapter a little meaningless I felt.

Despite this, the story moved at pace, was different and intriguing and had a satisfying hea.

Hash & Crystal bk12

Hash a prospect with the Dark Slayers is a favourite with all the brothers, he's the first to jump in to volunteer for which ever job needs doing but mainly works the security jobs. Booking a 7 day break at the cabin that's owned by the Dark Slayers, Hash is out hunting by himself when a half naked woman runs right into him. Turns out Hash went to school with the lady in question, Crystal. He had a major crush on her. He heard she was back in town.

Twists and turns in the storyline, lust and love. Well worth a read. I enjoyed it!!
Can't wait to read the next book looking forward to Freds story, whenever that may be

She had been abducted and was in danger. He vows to protect her and see where this attraction goes. Will he be able to protect her? Will she accept him for who he is or judge him for the decisions he has made since high school? Great fast read.

didn’t like how this one started out with a S.R/M

didn’t like how this one started out with a S.R/M Norman should not have opened this book. It was confusing as I thought we were opening with a hero NOT A HORRIFIC VILLAIN. This is not how a book should open I was very confused thinking I opened the wrong book or there was some other glitch going on where I got the wrong book.
triggers all over this one and I was not warned
This one need triggers at the top and opening of book
Shame on you as a survivor
I deserve to be warned what I’m about to read

This story is filled with mystery and intrigue that drew me in and kept me glued to Hash and Crystal's story. Hash has had a thing for Crystal since high school. Good Read

This is the first book in the ‘Dark Slayers MC’ series that I have read and even though it was book 12, I had no problem following the story or the characters, which I think is credit to the author. The book was ok too good not great but I suppose at this point it’s really hard to have a new spin on an MC story. I gave it 3.5 to 4 stars because it was an easy book to read and didn’t drag on…

This was such a great story that I couldn't put it down. Well written, with action, suspense, adventure, twists/turns/, danger, kidnapping, passion, and love. I loved the alpha male that Hash was and his protectiveness towards Crystal was phenomenal. Loved this story and looking forward to the next story about Bones.

Crystal and Hash’s story has these two coming together when she’s running for her life and right into his arms. They went to school together then she went to Hollywood but came back to settle her grandfather’s affair. With these two together there isn’t anything they can’t do. A few misunderstandings and miscommunications along with the twist that you don’t see coming. It will lead to the next book.

Coming Home

We the going home to settle her grandfathers house and to see what she wants to do with her life Crystal never imagined how her trip would go, getting kidnapped was not on the menu. She escapes and runs literally into Hash. They can't find her abductor some think she is lying but when Dusty starts with her kittens it all falls into place. I love this series and can't wait for more. Will be getting more of the MC Twisted Metal?💚💙

This book had a suspenseful investigative plot. Not the usual rival issue but a true horrible issue which gets dealt in true slayer fashion. Hash is so sweet, polite & as honest as they come as he shows that Hollywood isn't all that glamorous. Heart wants what the heart wants. Enjoyable.

This was a charming, thrilling ride. I was not expecting who the bad guy was. The love between the fmc and mmc was sweet. This is my first book in this series and by this author but after enjoying this one so much I plan to change both.

3.5 Stars

This is the first book in the series I had a hard time getting invested in. It seemed to me to be more telling than showing. It seemed stiff with information being riddled off. Hash was a good character who had his head screwed on straight, and Crystal seemed every bit the actress.

Hash and Crystal went to school together, he has become prospect for an MC and she is a starlet that has come home for a break. She is abducted by a serial killer and escapes, running into Hash who rescues her. This story is full of suspense, bikers, romance and more.

Just like the other brothers of the Dark Slayers MC, Hash is rough around the edges. But when they find the one, they are all in, over protective, alphas. Hash has responsibilities to the MC and in raising his young sister, but he can't turn away from Crystal when she needs help. I never saw the twist coming and loved the author stepped outside the box to add to the suspense and mystery.

Missing something but a good story

I like the Slayers MC series and this book was no exception but it was missing something. I think if they had continued more on the car wreck and gossip with the other actor finally getting his a&& handed to him for his lying. Not a huge fan of FRED either in this story.
