Turning someone into a vampire wasn’t supposed to be rocket science, right? Or at least that was what Calder thought anyways. Instead, now he’s in way over his head as he tries his best to navigate through how to save Aiden once more. It appears Aiden’s body is resisting the vampirism virus. With Aiden unable to drink blood and his heart trying to come back to life only to fail time and time again I would venture to say Calder is becoming more than a little worried about the situation. Aiden is really starting to wonder if being buried alive was some type of foreshadowing for the current events that are now his life. Of course, he’s a bit of a pessimist so we can’t really take his opinion into consideration just yet. There’s still got to be some kind of hope especially with Calder doing everything he can. All I do know, is that Aiden being sick is turning him into the biggest brat in the history of brats. Follow them along on their little journey to find a cure for Aiden as they banter and bicker the whole way through.
Kinda Dead Inside is book two in the Bite Me series, a vampire MM paranormal romance. For fans of vampires, dark snarky humor and banter, and with plenty of spice.
* This book is apart of a series and ends with a cliffhanger. Best suited for ages 17+
Bite Me (Work in progress series): Book 1: Mistakenly Departed Book 2: Kinda Dead Inside Book 3: Coffin for Two
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I enjoyed this one and it was nice to watch Aiden become more confident in little ways. Calder is so enamoured by Aiden and watching him be this massive golden retriever for him and all the little things he does is just really adorable to watch. I really enjoy the writing by the author, but at times it feels a little fast and I would love it to be slowed down that little bit so that we can really grow this bond with the characters, by getting to explore more of the scenes in a bit more detail, this is just a personal thing for me, the writing is still very much enjoyable and doesn’t effect the plot line. I can’t wait to see more of where their story goes and what is going to happen.
I absolutely adore These characters. Aiden is sweet, innocent, not afraid to be himself and apparently very possessive. Calder is this old Vampire who is absolutely feral for Aiden.
Aiden wakes to discover he is a vampire but nothing about his transformation appear to be normal. Calder is terrified about what might me happening to his little bat. So now they are on a mission to see what they can do to make sure Aiden is okay.
I absolutely love the relationship that is coming together between these two characters. Their banter and chemistry is top notch.
I really like Jennifer Caters writing style her books are always fun to read and Kinda Dead Inside didn’t disappoint! Kinda Dead Inside is book 2 of the bite me series. The story is so entertaining, I love seeing Aiden slowly becoming more confident and The banter and humour is so fun to read. Jennifer Cater always has an entertaining way to blending emotions, adventure and humour into her stories and I’m living for it. Overall another great read and looking forward to see more from the series.
This was a very adorable second book to the series of Calder and Aiden. I enjoyed how Aiden was slowly gaining confidence in everything and how Calder was so protective of him and how worried he was. I enjoyed their witty banter, emotions all around, the adventures they are going on. I can’t wait to discover what happens in the next one
Absolutely adored the relationship between Liam and Calder!!! I couldn’t put the book down! The humour, the banter, the love story!! Jennifer did an amazing job writing the story line and characters!! I love being able to be invested in the characters!
Jennifer Carter does not disappoint at all ,Aiden & Calder were hilarious and cute, yet Calder was so protective, which I loved so much . I couldn't stop laughing whenever Aiden would get jealous and possessive over Calder.
Eve is such an interesting character and amazing best friend to have, plus she is a wolf.
Marcus, he must have a story he funny and good friend to Calder and tries help as much as he can plus Sin Aiden cat loved him . I need to know what happens next
Aiden, now a freshly made vampire, finds himself in the care of Calder, his maker. Not feeling great but also very horny, Aiden goes through the gambit of emotions associated with dying, and dealing with a vampire, werewolf, warlock and his still beating heart. The two grow close as they search for a clue and a cure for his illness. The search for Dracula begins and the book ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to the next book.
Well, this one got on my nerves to be honest. I don't know, if I will read the next book.
Aiden is really jealous and it's like 50% of the book. Aiden getting jealous at everyone who is even looking at Calder, beside Eve and the back and forth for basically the same problem is getting tiring. It's not the worst I have read but again it is starting to annoy me and so I really don't know, if I will come back for the next (&last?) one.
Also their insta love, basically, is just not getting me, this is a general problem - it annoys me with every book at this point so I am not faultint the author here, it's just really not for me.

I had such a blast with this book. The story picks up fast and keeps that energy the whole way through, it’s equal parts funny, charming, and addictive. Calder and Aiden completely stole my heart; their grumpy–sunshine dynamic is hilarious, and the way their relationship grows is both sweet and a little bit spicy. I also loved the side characters, who add so much personality and make the world feel even richer. Jennifer Carter really knows how to balance humor, emotion, and adventure, and she delivered it all here. By the end, I was smiling and laughing. I'm now interested in reading the next installment! It was definitely a five-star read for me.
I think I'm done with this series, and I'm honestly kind of bummed to give up on it because it had a lot of fun potential. But .. the writing is just not for me. The formatting issues irt not using question marks after questions in dialogue with something I was hoping the author would fix, or that I would just get so engrossed in the story that it would quit bothering me, but it really, really does bother me. 🤣 But beyond that, I just found myself skimming without any interest in reading more thoroughly because it was written so... childishly? Aiden kept "screeching," the characterization for both of them was all over the place, and it just wasn't my vibe at all. 🤷♀️
From the very first twist, I was sunk—fangs and all. The title alone set the tone, and the story delivered a bite I didn’t see coming. Calder and Aiden? My new favorite vampire couple. Their banter is sharp, their chemistry is intoxicating, and their connection feels immortal. Jennifer, that ending? You bled me dry and left me craving more 😂. Thankfully, I already have the next book waiting to sink my teeth into. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️ 2.5 peppers Vampire MM romance fans—you need this book in your veins!
This is the second book in the Bite Me series. Calder found and turned Aiden, saving him from death, but things didn’t go as planned.
This is a quick, fast paced, charming, and highly entertaining read. The chemistry between Calder and Aiden is intense, and their banter is excellent—amusing and very well executed. I can't wait to read more!
So this book is amazing!!! Holy smokes I loved ever minute of this!! I defiantly loved the grumpy and sunshine vibes!! I mean the sass, and spice was perfect!! I need more!!!
3.75 ⭐'s. On to book 3. This is fun enough that I'm going to keep going with the series. It's kindof light hearted and cute but also pretty boy vampire smut. What more could I want?
