Very quick read, probably took me 20-30 minutes. It was interesting but overall not a ton of substance. Each page is its own “wisdom” (basically just a proverb). Also, there were some points where I’m pretty sure I found two or three typos but maybe I’m just dumb and didn’t understand it. Overall it was okay, would’ve like a bit more historical information outside of the opening 4 page introduction.

Love the concept of this book and the binding is beautiful. However, I am missing a lot of information. I would love to know the exact texts the quotes come from (in some cases it does reference the text, but not the line etc., but in other cases it just says ‘Middle Egyptian Literature’ or ‘Funerary Text’), as well as what translations were used. Also, for some of the quotes I wonder whether it is taken from an existing translation, or if it is paraphrasing multiple sentences into one.
