There’s something in the marshes surrounding Bayou St. John.
Something lethal.
Jackson and Angela Hawkins Crow both loved the city of New Orleans; they’d met, become partners, and then so much more because of their first case there.
It made for a great vacation for them as summer began to wane.
Except that it was to be no vacation. Because once again, someone was dredging up legends and evil, leaving a fisherman dead in many pieces and awakening stories that had their depth in the darkness and fears of history, in things that had to create evil when it seemed too fierce for the human heart and soul.
And so there they were, in the shadowy darkness of a fierce storm about to break upon the bayou, desperate to find an innocent young woman. Cypress and mangroves tangled with the shadows as fierce howls burst through the night.
Was there a true monster in the wilds of the marsh, a rougarou ready to tear the innocent to pieces?
A great storyline and Interesting characters. Heather Graham has always been my favorite supernatural mysteries author. She's the author that introduced me to this type of mystery. I've been read all her books and absolutely love them.
This was a fast paced and quite different little tale. It was based on lore about werewolves of New Orleans and the bayou country there. Quick pleasant read. Give it a try.
As the title says, it reads like it was written by AI. Uninspired and hard to slog through. I genuinely wish I could have the time I spent trudging through this short story back.
I enjoyed this book so much. It is short, but packed full of story, nothing boring! Heather Graham has become one of my favorite authors. I really love her books.
As usual Heather takes us to New Orleans and makes us love it again. She always brings me back to the dark side of the city and keeps me very interested in the story.
