Speaking as a veteran, I was highly impressed and grateful that Sophie Moss is the first author I’ve found who could actually nail what it feels like to be a veteran and the issues that are very real and important to them. Many books try to capture the essence of military life, the terminology, and the persona, yet most fail by trying to create overly-machismo characters in ridiculous situations, using generic phrases, and hyped-up resumes – not Sophie Moss, she gets it. Moss portrays a veteran in a realistic manner and fully captures issues important to them in a way that makes you feel neither ashamed or embarrassed to be a veteran or enjoy this beautiful story. Equally refreshing, the author has created the kind of story that makes you feel like you are the one falling in love.

Wind Chime Wedding is the story of Becca – a woman on the cusp of her long-overdue wedding to her childhood sweetheart, and a veteran trying to find his place in the “civilian world”. Sophie Moss creates an entire island of scented, swaying, and living scenery that you can both hear and taste as you walk down the docks and streets of Heron Island. Wind Chime Wedding introduces you to a community that becomes your friends and neighbors, playing out like a film of some peaceful place you have long lost. The character development of young and old in Wind Chime Wedding was obviously well-thought out through the heart and soul of the author – you quickly understand why she is a multiple award-winner. It’s amazing how many different issues Sophie tackles so effectively in this gem of a story – readers can feel themselves evolve on several levels through the struggles of her jump-off-the-pages characters. This is one of those books where you forget that you are reading, being pulled into a vortex of a world and faces you want to see to the end.

I wasn't going to read this anyway (hated the last one), but I came across something while looking at reviews. Apparently there's no sex? Not the end of the world, sure...except when you consider her other books. I've read four-fifths of her current releases (Seal Island Trilogy and Wind Chime Café), with the remaining one being this, and every single book contained sex. Every book . But the book with the disabled hero doesn't get even one...? I'm side-eyeing this so fucking hard right now.

First of all let me say that this is the first book of author Sophie Moss that I’ve read and I now have a new favorite author. Get a load of this!

Becca Haddaway is a second grade teacher on a speck of land called Heron Island, a little island with the warmth and depth of a small community. She’s about to take the big plunge of marriage in two weeks to her teenage sweetheart Tom, a man that shared a traumatic life event with her in the past, therefore they had formed a very close bond with one another. She’s comfortable with Tom, it’s a romantic notion for her to grow up and marry her long time sweetheart. But if this is really real, is the bond they share the same thing as love and if so, why is she attracted to another man? And why does she keep hearing the magical sound of tinkle tinkle twink when she’s around this other man? What’s up with that?

When Becca learns that Heron Island Elementary School is in the middle of a plot of deceit and revenge on the verge of being shut down she takes matters in her own hands. This is her town, she grew up here, her mother taught at that school, she went to that school as a child and she’s not going to just get married, move off her beloved island, and let this terrible tragedy happen. This school is part of the make-up, part of the island’s history and she has to do something. And, she has to question her true motives about why she is about to marry one man when all she can think about is another.

Colin Foley, an ex Navy Seal and the son of an affluent Senator, after losing part of his leg on a mission gone bad in Afghanistan, is forced out of the military and is trying to come to grips with what he wants out of his life. After being dumped by his fiancée because he’s an amputee he has finally found a cause in which to focus his life on. He wants to open a wounded veteran’s rehab center, to be able to give others like him a purpose to go on living. One where they can feel needed, to be able to feed their families, to have a goal once again in their torn lives. When he starts having feelings for an elementary school teacher on the path down the aisle, he has to stop and re-access what he really wants out of life. He still wants a family, a home, kids, and he loves the small town feeling of Heron Island. He wants to make this his home but he has to have the right woman. One that will accept him for who he is, and not show pity for the fact he only has one leg. He cannot suffer that pain again.

This book is by far one the best books I’ve read in a while. The characters are down to earth real people with real hardships, hopes and dreams. The author brings into play the terrible struggle veteran’s have returning stateside after a war, new love, healing of hearts and minds. The minor as well as the main characters will draw you into their story opening up their lives with all their hearts and souls. You’ll find humor, deceit, revenge, struggles and love, all the facets of a good solid, well written love story.

The editing was great no issues at all and the story line is clean, superbly written and get this, NO SEX. Yep that’s right, a little kissin’ is all you’re going to get out of this book, now isn’t that a hoot and a twist. The book just flows and moves at a good pace, nothing dull about it at all. And Becca, let me tell you, when she finally gets it together she is a little can of whup ass and believe me I was high fivin’ and rootin’ and clappin for this gal. Then the next thing I knew I was tearing up, so let me tell you this book has a lot to open up in your mind and I absolutely loved it. So much so I went right to Amazon and bought the first book of the series.

I most definitely recommend this book to any age of reader. It’s contemporary and because of the story line I think it would be good for you younger marrying age gals. You know, open your minds to make sure you know where you’re hopping before you leap. Read the book and you’ll get my meaning.

I received a copy of this for the blog tour.

There is just something so magical about Sophie’s books. I love how the characters leap off of the pages, and the setting is so detailed that I feel like I’m there in the story. I adore this tiny coastal town and its nosy neighbors and how everyone takes care of each other. And I just adored the romance that developed between two characters I grew to love in the first book. :)

Becca Haddaway is a total sweetheart who is strong and confident in herself (even when she isn’t sure of anything). She’s a teacher who loves kids and who does whatever she can to take care of people. She’s also a people pleaser, and someone who is kind of set in her comfortable safety net. It’s why she has a hard time considering breaking it off with Tom and losing the only future she’s ever dreamed for herself. But she’s starting to realize that she wants more. That she wants to stay on Heron Island. That she wants to stay at the school and fight for its future. Throughout the book, she deals with a lot of doubt, insecurity, and uncertainty. And it pushes her into the arms of a man who makes her heart race and opens up her eyes to new possibilities she didn’t imagine she’d ever want. But Becca wants them, and him.

Colin Foley is a hardened former Navy Seal who is trying to reinvent himself. He isn’t quite sure what the future holds, and he’s currently using the present to help other soldiers like him. It’s a worthy cause that he throws himself into, to erase the bad memories and fill it with positive ones. But because of his father’s policies, the ones he helped create, his work is affecting Becca’s school. She enlists his help, and he’s more than eager to step up. Something about Becca makes him start to open up, to dream of something new, and leave the bad behind. She’s a ray of light in this man’s scattered life, and he knows that the feelings he has for her are more than just a passing phase. But she’s engaged to another man, and he doesn’t know if he could give her forever (and he's also still dealing with the rejection of his former fiance). But Becca makes him want to try again.

There is a little bit of a blurred line with the romance because Becca is, clearly, engaged to another man. But I thought it was done particularly well in this story. Cheating is a deal-breaker for some readers, but not me. And, to be honest, though Tom’s personality makeover felt a *little* too easy, it was part of the reason why I didn’t mind the cheating. Becca starts to question her engagement and her fiance after meeting Colin. She’s never felt this way, even with Tom, but how do you give up on someone you’ve known more than half your life? And Colin respects her, lets her work her feelings out without pressuring her into more. He kept his distance. But he was also the type of man to go after what he wanted if she gave him even the slightest reassurance the feelings weren’t one-sided. And when he did chase her? Oh boy! The sparks between them were there even in the first book, and they lit the pages in this one. I definitely could have done with just a bit *more* on the romance, but I adored watching the two of them fall in love and find true happiness.

Heron Island is also full of secondary characters, and I love that. These people, and this town, added a richness to this story. It was so wonderful to see such love and care between people who’ve known each other basically since they were born. There are no secrets, and sometimes the nosiness can be way too much. But ultimately, that just made it all the more charming. I loved that Will, Annie, and Taylor made appearances as well. I’ve missed those three, and I’ve also missed the one and only Della (Will’s aunt and Annie’s chef). And I liked that there were different story-lines with other characters going on too, but I think they pushed the romance to the side a bit too much.

There was a strong focus on family and friendship in this book, and I loved that it intertwined with the plot. So much of it revolved around the fight for the school to not close down, and how that would affect the community and especially Taylor and Annie (one of Becca’s closet friends) if it did. This book does center around Becca and Colin, but it includes almost all of the people on Heron Island. Sophie’s writing is gorgeous, and it doesn’t take me long to get hooked on the story. And it’s not hard to want to keep reading, even when it doesn’t feel like much is actually happening. The pace was a bit slow, but I didn’t mind because it led up to an ending that was worth everything. Loved it!

Wind Chime Wedding was another wonderful book from Sophie Moss! Though not as heavily focused on the romance as one would expect, it still shines with love. With joy. With hope and home and happiness. It’s about two characters who start to want more for themselves and who have found in each other someone who will stick by their side through anything.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads~~

Having really enjoyed the first in the series, I was delighted to get the chance to read this new story about the characters of Heron Island. The mix of peace and return from war vets along with school closure dramas and family secrets add to the wedding crazy that ... well you need to read and find out. Once again Ms Moss has painted such a vivid picture of life in this wonderful place that it is difficult to tear oneself away and face the working day ... but I have a feeling there is more mileage in the Island and we will be treated to the next installment soon (I hope!)

well it was more 4.5 than 5 but still...

The story was very good and I liked it very much. I loved both the hero and the heroine. He was a vet from Afghanistan and had a bad story but he was a very positive character. She was trapped in a situation hard to get out but she did.

Very good

When I began reading "Wind Chime Cafe", becoming immersed in the story of Annie, Taylor, and Will, I was over-the-moon excited to spend some more time with them in the other two books of the three book series.

Imagine my surprise when I began reading "Wind Chime Wedding" only to find out that my three favorite characters had become minor characters, at best. I was preparing for disappointment until I was catapulted from that feeling into a story that was just as engaging and compelling. The story of Becca and Colin.

After getting over my initial letdown of not being told the continuing story of Will and Annie, I took a step back and realized just how brilliant this way of piecing together a trilogy was, as both a reader and a writer. Time keeps moving forward from the last book, but two of the minor characters became the primary focus in book two. A seed has been planted for one of my own works in progress ;-)

I am a sucker for one-liners and paragraphs that tug at emotional chords and cause something to shift inside you, and there were plenty of those in this book. The way Ms. Moss completes almost every chapter leaves you with that heartbreaking but heartwarming ache in your chest. The thing is, I didn't really notice these poetic and emotional interludes quite as much as normal because I was pulled along the storyline with such interest and momentum.

I was certain that I understood the meaning of the title of this book when I picked it up, but alas the surprises continued to accumulate over the course of this read that tackles some very real and serious issues dealing with veteran assimilation after deployment. The way that this story and its thematic elements blend into those of the previous book, "Wind Chime Cafe", allow the two books to be read independently without spoiling either while still sending a cohesive message.

I'm looking forward to cracking open the front cover of "Wind Chime Summer", the last book in this trilogy, now understanding what to expect, which I now realize, could be anything at all. And, I can't wait :-)

Becca Haddaway is an elementary school teacher who's engaged to Tom. This is a pretty vanilla relationship, but she's never known anything else on her small island, and since she and Tom helped each other survive when they lost parents in the same wreck as children, there's inevitability and obligation involved in their relationship. But he works off island and envisions her leaving when they marry, and moving to the big time where she can entertain his Important Clients and be a perfect hostess/wife. Yuck.

Becca falls in love with a veteran who's involved with the wounded warrior's group home created by Will in the first book. Colin is a good guy and the question is, how will Becca and Colin come together? Plus there's a nasty subplot about Colin's horrible mother who's a Betsy DeVoss clone on the verge of closing the island school to spite her son, whom she hates! A good romance with lots of intrigue.

As Good as the First

It is always great to read an author who is able to keep the qualities of characters and storylines through a series of books. This was written as if she picked up her pen at the finish of the first book in the series and kept the story going while going more in depth with other characters. Fabulous book!

Romance and Fantasy for Cosmopolitan Girls

I Was Provided A ARC For The Release Tour
(Possible Spoilers)

A gripping, beautiful story. Full of hope, love, family, and second chances.

Becca Haddaway has spent her whole life on Heron Island. She teaches there, she has family and friends there, and millions of memories in this little coastal town. She dreams of marrying and raising kids there. But all that doesn't fit into the plan her fiance has for them. To marry and move from her home. And it eats at her day in and day out. She never imaged a life without Heron Island being part of it. When threats of the elementary school being closed and her friends needing help, Becca feels she owes it to them to help anyway she can. And with the appearance of a handsome wounded warrior, Colin Foley, Becca's doubts about marriage and leaving the island start becoming more complicated.

Colin Foley, wounded ex Navy Seal, has come to Heron Island to start over. To make a life for himself after losing so much in the war. Opening up a facility for wounded soldiers, finding a home, and eventually a wife and kids is all Colin wants. And he feels like Heron Island is just what he needs. With news of the school closing and his friends being affected by it, Colin steps up along side Becca to do everything in his power to help. He never imagined along the way he would start to feel things for the big hearted, beautiful, Becca Haddaway. She's engaged. She's leaving the island. But the connection that pulls Becca and Colin together every time they're around each other, is something he just can't push aside.

Wind Chime Wedding is such a lovely chapter to a beautiful series. We get to see all the characters we connected with in wind chime cafe. Like Will, Annie, Taylor, Della and more. While getting to dive into Colin's & Becca's world. I rooted for these two from the first chapter. The struggle each one goes through felt so real. Many serious issues are brought up in this story, and i felt that Sophie Moss address them in such a real and true way. It mixed very nicely with the elements of family and friends, of hope and doubts, and of love and loss.

Colin & Becca's story was breathtaking. I loved to see their bound for one another grow through every chapter. But you also get to see them blossom on their own.

The words flow like poetry. Every turn of the page made me want more. The friendships and love that these characters share, the feel of being home when you read of Heron Island, the emotions Becca and Colin express, make for such a griping read.

I'm very excited to see what Sophie Moss brings us next.

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
A beautiful, sweet romance that will entertain your mind and warm your heart. Colin is an ex Navy Seal whose loss of a leg was not only physically debilitating but it wounded him deeply psychologically with the ending of his career, his feeling of family and of finding purpose in his life. Now he reaches out for healing on several levels. Becca is a grade school teacher planning her upcoming wedding while firmly tied to painful memories of loss. When these two meet, there is undeniable chemistry that stirs their emotions and confuses their minds. Add to this, controlling parents, hidden agendas, lies and treachery and you have a fascinating reading adventure as these two hearts struggle to find clarity, to overcome outside forces seeking to damage their way of life and to find truth, healing and love. Amazing story from a writer in tune with human feelings.
~~~~~~~~~~Lindsey's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

I love sweet and simple romances. Sophie Moss is someone I have never read before, but now, like so many authors, I want to read more of her books. This book was sweet, simple and refreshing. It did tackle the serious issue of what happens to veteran soldiers of combat, but I think that's important too. Sophie Moss does a great job with character development as well as keeping the story entertaining and easy for the reader to follow. Check out Sophie Moss!

This book drew me in and wrapped around me. I loved all the Characters and if you read Wind Chime Cafe you will remember some of our favorites: Della, Will, Annie and Taylor. It is amazing how a story as sweet and loving as this one can make you feel good when you finish it. This book has a depth to it that you don't see in most romance books. I love reading a story where you feel more than you are shown from the writer. So thank you Sophie Moss you definitely have a fan in me.

Blog Tour & Giveaway on Agents of Romance -

Colin Foley never considered himself a hero – but that’s exactly what he is. He fought his way back after an injury that would have destroyed most men and he’s made it his new mission to reach out and help those that need it the most.

Even though he grew up in moneyed suburbs of Annapolis, the peace and tranquility of the island are exactly what he’s looking for. It’s just far enough away from the city and all of the political posturing that always seems to follow him because of his family name. So when Becca Haddaway approaches him to use some of that clout to help save the beloved Heron Island Elementary School, he agrees.

There’s just something about Becca that makes her different from every other woman he’s ever encountered. Not only is she giving and compassionate, but she’s also unassumingly beautiful and he can’t seem to stop thinking about what it would be like if she wasn’t engaged to someone else.

Becca always knew Colin was striking. With his dark hair, his intense eyes and the aura of loneliness that seems to always be around him – he drew her attention more than she was ever comfortable with.

After all, she was going to be married and leave the island to finally be able to spread her wings. But when she finds that the school is in danger of closing, she reaches out to the one person who is a danger to all of her perfectly laid out plans – Colin Foley.

She discovers that sometimes love takes you outside of your comfort zone and changes what you always though you wanted – and sometimes you don’t need to go far away to take a risk with your heart.

Wind Chime Wedding is the perfect summer read! Sophie’s words magically transport you right to the middle of the island where you can actually hear the boats in the water and smell the salty air. Each and every member of this complex community of characters will steal your heart and you'll never want to leave…

This lovely book is set on a small island where everyone knows the coming and goings of the town, but to many that is the special parts of the town. Becca is certainly one of those people. Living there her entire life with many memories to cherish. Mainly the memories she has of her deceased mother, former teacher. Becca even teaches in her moms old room now.

Becca is in the midst of planning her wedding to long time boyfriend. She doesn't seem to be in that dreamland about the upcoming wedding as most bride-to-be usually are though. She can't seem to put a finger on it. She is sad about leaving the island to start her new life. When things happen that will affect the island, Becca decided to do everything she can to keep things at a norm before she has to go. In do so, she finds herself spending a lot of time with the handsome Colin. This seems to not be helping with her wedding issues at all.

Colin, is a man on a mission. Together with his friend Will he is working towards a Veteran Assistance Center to help them get back on their feet after returning from duty. When he decides to try and help out the town that he has come to love and want to spend his life in, things get a little dicey. Old family issues are brought to the surface and make things a little ugly. Somehow though these things don't seem as bad as they should with Becca by his side. Although she really is just being friendly. Colin finds himself hoping for things that he can't have, or can he. Will he make a play for another mans woman?

I loved the feel of this book and can easily see where the series can move forward. The congregation of friends that build the main characters of the story is very strong and unique at the same time. I will watch for more of the Wind Chime Series.

#3wordreview ~ "Sweet, Powerful, Romantic!"

Sophie Moss is the master of powerful romance. Every time I finish reading a book she's written, I am emotionally reeling, and in a really good way. The sign of a good author is when you think about their book for days after finishing it, and like with 'Wind Chime Café', 'Wind Chime Wedding' just sucked me into the life of Heron Island, and made me long for more after the story had finished.

In this instalment of the 'Wind Chime' series, we see Becca's story, and along with some much-loved appearances from the gorgeous Will, Annie and Taylor, we see how life on the island continues in other characters lives. Becca is a character that just embodies everything that young people strive to be. She is good-hearted, generous and protective of and to those she loves. We see how her relationship with her fiancee came to be, and why her decision to stay with him is something she feels so strongly about. I loved the conflict this created with the gorgeous Colin, who being such a good solid guy he is, doesn't want to make her feel conflicted.

I adored seeing more of Colin, and getting his backstory, as well as seeing how this led him to join Will in creating the SEAL rehabilitation centres, was something that gave this story another dimension which made it so powerful. I love seeing realistic characters struggle with real life, and Sophie Moss doesn't back down and make his story easy, instead embracing the blood, sweat and tears that embody military life and making the characters fight for their future real, and all the more heart-breaking.

This was a stunning addition to the Heron Island series, where we see Colin and Becca fight for a love that is true and passionate. I adored their relationship, and seeing how they changed throughout the course of the novel.

** 4.5 Stars **

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since I finished Wind Chime Cafe and I have to say, it was worth the wait. I had a soft spot for Colin as soon as we were introduced to him and wanted him to get his HEA badly. He was such a strong character, who had been through so much that you couldn't help but wonder how much more he could handle. His saving grace was connecting with Will and their partnership to open up a center for wounded vets. He was very passionate about this cause, for a good reason and would stop at nothing to make sure vets got the help they deserved.

Becca, oh sweet Becca. You could tell she was not truly happy in her current relationship, but we didn't understand what was holding her in it. The more time she was around Colin and the more she thought about having to leave the island, she was starting to second guess her decision.

Will Becca realize her love of the island and Colin before it is too late? Will Colin be the fighter we all know he is and go after the woman he loves? In order to find out, you need to check out this lovely sequel.

I loved watching Becca grow stronger and become the confident woman we all knew she could be. I also loved watching Colin come to terms with his past and realize that he is worth more then he realizes. This was a wonderful story about finding your true passion and fighting for what is truly important in your life. I loved these two characters so much, that I couldn't help but root for them to get their HEA. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next in this great series!

Wind Chime Wedding continues the tale of residents of Heron Island. This time we are following Becca Haddaway's story. She is an elementary school teacher on the island who is going to marry her childhood sweetheart and leave the island to follow him to DC.

Right off the bat, you can see that Becca loves the island more than most. It is in her blood. She loves small town living and all of her friends and family who live there. When Becca learns of the state closing down the school because of budget funding, she tries to figure out a way to keep it open. Even though she is no longer going to work there once she is married, it means too much to her to let it close forever.

Becca approaches Colin Foley for help. His dad is governor and he is a vet. He is struggling in his own way, Colin in an amputee who is readjusting to life back in the States. Colin is mostly a quite guy who is working on the Inn.

When Becca and Colin starting spending time together to help the school, feelings start to develop. Becca realizes where her heart and loyalties rely. Colin starts to make Becca see that she doesn't want a life in DC. Her heart is on the island. Now, he needs to make her realize her fiancee is not the man she is meant to spend her life with..

I loved that we got to see all the characters from Wind Chime Cafe. It was great that they were included in this book.

Wind Chime Wedding is the next chapter of Wind Chime Cafe By Sophie Moss. This is the 2nd book of the Wind Chime Series. You could read it as a stand alone but I wouldn't recommend it. You kind of need to read Wind Chime Cafe in order to really meet the characters and get a true idea of some of the things being talked about in this book.
The story takes place on Heron Island where Becca Hadaway is a 2nd grade teacher who is quitting to get married to her high school sweetheart Tom.
Colin Foley is a former Navy Seal who lost his leg in Afghanistan, and also the son of Maryland's Governor. Here's a part you need book 1 for, He is busy working on turning his friend Will's Grandparents house into a Rehab center for wounded Veterans. He finally has a reason and a purpose in his life. Now all he needs is someone to share this new leash on life with.
Colin sets his eyes on Becca. Now to convince her, he is the man she should be marrying.
As with Wind Chime Cafe Sophie Moss has done a wonderful job of dragging you into the story and keeping you there from the fist word to the last, and she leaves you wanting more. She takes you through the gambit of emotions, you are Happy when things are going good, Sad when they are not. You feel like you are intimate friends with the characters in her stories. I can't wait to see what her next book will bring.

Becca Haddaway is finally going to get married to the man of her dreams and start a new life outside of that quaint Chesapeake Bay Island where she has grown up. Her fiancé is working hard to make a name for his self, leaving Becca to start saying her goodbyes alone. When Becca officially hands over her letter resignation, she had no idea that it may be goodbye for good to Heron Island Elementary School. Budget cuts among other things are about to shut it down. Concentrating on her upcoming wedding has become next to impossible while she tries to make a last effort to save the school, especially after asking Colin Foley for a little help. After finding some peace and purpose on the island, he finds that last piece of the puzzle that he’s been missing. Except, that piece is engaged.

The story was just as amazing and heartfelt as Wind Chime Café-Book 1. The author has a way of making the characters believable with the way her stories are written. I enjoy the way the characters are brought together and slowly find a way to heal and work through their emotional walls. Ah, and you mustn’t forget the yummy recipe included in the back of the book.

This is a sweet romantic read that will keep your attention. I’ll be waiting for the next in the series, just like after reading the first book. Get ready to take a journey of healing, determination, and love.

Sophie Moss

I knew from the teaser at the end of Wind Chime Cafe that I was going to love Wind Chime Wedding. Getting a chance to return to Heron Island and it's crazy cast of characters was a blast!

I immediately admired Becca's strength. She wants to save the things that are close to her heart but is learning that some things you just have to let go of. Deciding which is which for her was hard. I wanted her to have it all but knew in the end that things would work out how they should.

Colin was introduced in the end of Wind Chime Cafe and I loved him right away. With everything taken away from him after he lost his leg in Afghanistan, Colin has had to start over. Will bringing him to the island gave him a new purpose. Colin's journey was the opposite of Becca's. He wasn't holding on to things so much as finding out what he truly wanted.

The life and stories of all the Heron Island residents will always feel like watching a video tape of my family and friends. Wind Chime Wedding is contemporary romance at its best. The author has a way of making you feel at home and I adore that. 5-stars across the boards for amazing writing, storytelling, and editing. I can't wait to read more!

Beauty, emotion and a darn good story. Wind Chime Wedding is a special blend of Colin and Becca's story and the story of the residents of Heron Island. There is plenty to keep your interest and it all blend's seamlessly together.

Becca is busy planning her wedding to her high school sweetheart when she finds out the school she teaches at is due to close. Turning to the one person who can help her, Governor's son Colin, she finds more than a political ally. She finds someone who makes her question her heart and whether she is wandering into a marriage because it is expected of her, rather than because it is what she truly wants. Political battles, battles of the heart and battles for the community.

This is a story about finding yourself, following your heart and standing up for what you believe in. It feels like a real community with the different stories crossing paths. You become not only invested in Becca and Colin hopefully realising they are made for each other but in the entire community. Beautifully written with a high sweetness factor.

A beautifully believable romance…

This is a book that emulates the sigh of a beautiful spring breeze…and makes you feel so good!

Becca is all set to marry her high school sweetheart, Tom, but something’s not quite right. How can she continue wedding planning when her heart jumps every time she sees Colin?

Whenever I visit Heron Island, I feel like the wind whispers through my hair, and I can taste salt on my lips, and hear the ocean lapping at my feet… This book is that warmth that floods you like a first love, and you won’t be sorry you spent time getting to know its participants. The characters are well drawn and a great deal of research has gone into them, so that military and fishing terms and many others sit easily for one not familiar with military or island life. The romance grows perfectly, in tune and in step with the author’s story, and you’ll soon become invested in their lives and predicament.

This is a lovely story, beautifully crafted and written, with description that took me straight to Heron Island itself. I enjoyed it so much so, that I now wait with bated breath to discover who the next book in the series is about.

Wind Chime Wedding was second in the Wind Chime series. Although I haven't read the first book, I didn't feel lost. The author gave enough descriptions and background info about the characters. Now, I must read the first book!

I loved the setting being on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. That was our annual summer vacation location when I was growing up in MD. Reading this book was like visiting the shore. I could picture Heron Island and got to know the characters as if they were my friends.

There was lots of various emotions throughout the book. Sophie Moss knows how to write a book with heart felt feelings. It was so much more than just a love story which is what made it a really special book to me. Really, even the cover is beautiful!

If you like a good romance, I would highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading more of the Wind Chime series. It's the perfect summer read!

Wind Chime Wedding is the only book I’ve read written by Sophie Moss. It won’t be the last. I was immediately swept up in the magic of Heron Island, the people who make up this wonderful community, and the believable way that these characters interact with each other. Moss brilliantly paints how every small town rejoices in love stories, grieves in tragedies and how some folks seem to have an ax to grind against their own up-bringing.
I’m usually not drawn to love triangles, but Becca and Colin’s story is more about mourning, healing and realizing that you can’t help where your heart finds true love. Filled with conflict, political intrigue, wounded warriors, children who beg to be noticed and love scenes that are left behind closed doors, Wind Chime Wedding is one of my favorites.
Sound interesting? It is. It’s the perfect summer read.
My copy of Wind Chime Wedding was a gift courtesy of Sophie Moss and I offer my review freely and honestly.

Read Wind Chime Cafe first. It has a satisfactory ending, so it stands alone, but reading it will give you the background on Becca, the school-teacher protagonist in this second novel about the people of fictional Heron Island in Maryland. It also focuses on Colin, a former Seal and amputee who is setting up a place of refuge for veterans and wounded warriors to come and learn to adapt to what life has handed them.

Very good writing. Loving this series and hope that the 3rd installment will be just as good as these first two have been. Definitely recommended to those who like realistic domestic fiction with feel-good accomplishments and inspiring little gems.

After reading Wind Chime Cafe, I have been looking forward to this book. To say I wasn't disappointed is an understatement. This book picks up after WC Cafe and takes us back to Heron Island where I was immersed in the setting so skillfully it feels as though I actually spent time there and where the characters are so well written it feels as if they are real people. I love the issues she handles without beating the reader over the head with it and the sweet romance that built in the story. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

What a treat to visit Heron Island once more. MS Moss does a wonderful job of putting you into the story and making it seem like you are visiting friends. The book draws you in to the characters and surroundings it is if you were there. Having spent some of the best times at seaside towns I loved this book. I have read the other Windchime books and this one is a wonderful addition to the series. I give this book 5 stars.

I read Wind Chime Cafe a year ago and have been eagerly awaiting the second book in the series since then. Wind Chime Wedding was definitely worth the wait! The book has strong characters with a story as multi-faceted and layered as real life. It's a love story, but it's also a story of loss and redemption, struggle and triumph, friendship and family. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to next year when the next Wind Chime book comes out.

Loved this book.

It's tale focuses on how grief can shape ours lives either build something productive helping others or let it turn your life into being manipulated, destructive or vengeful.

The characters, vivid scenery & sounds, myriad of emotions and community pulling together to help a family in crisis gave the wonderful feeling of living where people cared.

I'd look forward to next adventure in book 3 though 2016 seems too far off.
