No One Has To Know

Rate this book
I’m a good man. A responsible man. And I’m definitely old enough to know the difference between right and wrong.

But when my daughter’s best friend shows up on my doorstep, everything I thought I knew about myself goes out the window.

Amber Pope is twenty years old, stunningly beautiful - and asking to spend the weekend with me. A string of bad experiences with men her own age have left her wondering what more there can be. And she wants me, a man more than twice her age, to show her.

I should say no. I should tell her it’s a bad idea.
But I don’t. After all, it’s just for the weekend. What’s the worst that could happen?

No One Has To Know is an 18+ forbidden romance with a large age gap between the MCs (26 years). It contains explicit themes.

THIS WAS FINGER LICKIN GOOD 🤩

if you need a quick forbidden and smutty read to get the fuck out of your reading slump … immediately pick this up 😍

this is a best friend’s dad romance, forbidden, age gap, kink exploration, light bdsm, consent checks, a man who whimpers and talks through it, a woman who knows wtf she wants and will tease her way to get it, standalone novella 🖤

theo has been living life on auto mode. he hasn’t felt that welcoming feeling of coming home since he got divorced. but he still kept up his gym life and got things done. he isn’t a man who slumps around and complains. no … mans is quite the opposite 🤭 amber is such a little tease. she always had a crush on her best friend’s dad but she never grew the courage to go for it. she is someone who has been used and told that her body was only made for a man’s pleasure. she never knew what truly connecting with someone through intimacy felt like. until one weekend alone with a man old enough to be her dad 👀 with all the sneaking around, forbidden stolen touches, and constant teasing, theo and amber shares a wonderful weekend together knowing that it’ll come to an end. but when they both just can’t stop replaying everything that happened in such a short time … will their secret relationship come to an end 😳

i absolutely adore the fuck out of theo and amber 🥹 i think they’re the cutest fucking couple i’ve read about in such a long time that i just completely swooned over them. from their teasing, to their intimate moments, to deep conversations and trust, they are such a great example of going after whatever you want and don’t stop until you’ve achieved your goal. they are sending a message to so many people if you look at it in different perspectives 🫶🏼

ugh i miss them already 😭 i literally just didn’t want this book to end and i kept itching for more !!! but i will literally devour anything RD writes 😩

This is a fast, smutty, forbidden romance; a good one to pick up if you're feeling slumpy or want to read something short and to the point.

I found Theo to be…interesting. When he was ~in it~ with Amber he was very hot and sensitive but the book is told from his POV and his guilt kind of throttled the progression of the story for me. I think the guilt made sense, but it's kind of like when your parent tells you you can't make the same mistake over and over again, at some point you have to acknowledge that you are knowingly and willingly partaking in something and that's not a mistake. So his guilt seemed pointless to me unless he was committed to stopping—which he wasn't. Just lean in, dude!

Amber and Theo's conversations somewhat circled the drain, but I liked them together. Amber acted her age and seemed committed to exploring in her own terms. I did kind of think she was a bad friend to his daughter—who was *so* down for her dad to be with her best friend by the end that I was shocked—but this book isn't about friendship LOL.

I really enjoy R.D. Baker's writing and look forward to reading more from her!

Listen, I love me a someone’s dad; be it an ex boyfriend, dad’s best friend, best friend’s dad romance— it’s an underrated and a favourite of mine trope!

omg the spice was so HOT and realistic, and I actually loved that this was entirely told from his POV. But, ugh, Theo did spend a lot of his time wallowing in his own guilt, and putting himself down, which I did get bored of, and the overuse of his nickname for Amber, which was “honey”, every other sentence was an overkill 😓

Anyway, it was a hot, spicy fun time.

HOT HOT HOT

Jesus fuggin’ Christ! This was so good! Such a good read. I’m obsessed with forbidden age-gap romance and this is easily one of the best I’ve read. WOW. I love that even though he’s in love with her, he let her go so she can experience life on her own. And the way Amber adores that old geezer? Ugh, perfection. I’m seriously in love with this book. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author. If you’re into age-gap or forbidden romance, you need to pick this one up.

I absolutely loved No One Has to Know! Even though it’s a short read, it completely pulled me in. The characters felt so real that I honestly wasn’t ready to say goodbye when it ended. I just wish it had been longer, i wanted more time with them and their story.

The book dives into a tricky, forbidden kind of love, and Baker handles it in a way that feels genuine and heartfelt. The emotions, the tension, the little moments between the characters, it all just hits. Even though it’s short, it leaves a big impact and makes you think about the story long after you finish it.

This ones definitely going on my “re-read” list, I could easily get lost in it again and again.

"It’s filthy. It’s primal. It’s beautiful. And I fucking hate myself for it."

“You meant it though, right?” Her eyes lift to mine. “If I wasn’t me, and you weren’t you, and we were the same age…”

Loved this! Kinky fun times between Amber and her best friends divorced dad Theo.

This read really fast in a good way. Both characters felt pretty genuine. I liked that Amber was more the instigator of the sexual relationship that started just as a very short term everyone has a good time kinda situation to realizing they are very connected and compatible despite the roadblocks in their way. I also liked that they didn't just end up together after hooking up.

The sex was hot! Wow like realistic hot too which was fun and surprising. He's a college professor so you know she wanted to do some professor/student roleplay. I could feel their chemistry in the writing.

This was a fun, hot good time!

Idk how she does it, but RD manages to write a novel with one spicy scene after another and somehow makes each better than the last. I went into this expecting a short & spicy age gap "no strings attached" fling and it exceeded my expectations. Experiencing the story from Theo's pov, specifically his internal monologue as the good guy with dark desires, trying to ignore his very gentlemanly moral compass, really made the book for me. Amber is a great character who knows exactly what she wants and girl knows how to get it. Theo didn't stand a chance. The pair of them take an interesting premise and make it absolutely unputdownable. 🤍🩶🖤

It's been a hot minute since I last read a single POV book especially since it's the MMC's. I loved the spice, the chemistry between our characters and the MMC's internal conflicts. Oh he was kinda pathetic but I loved it haha.

I loved how they didn't magically decide to be together after their weekend sex stint. They were apart for 19 months and the FMC had sex with other men and was engaged to another man. Not sure if the MMC had sex with other women though he did mention going on dates. I think that's what stood out . Even though they had been with other people, they still burned for each. Beautiful!

This book pulls you in and refuses to let go. R.D has crafted a story full of sharp spice, twists, emotional tension, and characters that feel raw and real.

Every chapter builds suspense in a way that keeps you constantly questioning what will happen next.

The pacing is spot-on, making it impossible to put down, while the writing style is both immersive and easy to devour.

Beyond the suspense, there’s a strong emotional core that gives the story real depth, making it more than just a page-turner. It's a book that stays with you.

If you’re looking for a gripping, addictive read that delivers both spice and heart, No One Has to Know is a must-read.

R.D. Baker does it again! No One Has to Know proves she’s the queen of forbidden romance and always hits it out of the park.

This book is short, spicy, and so dangerously addictive. Right from the start, Theo and Amber had me hooked with the kind of chemistry that makes you lean a little closer to the page and grin like the Cheshire Cat. It’s the perfect mix of temptation and tenderness, where every glance feels loaded and every moment sizzles with “we really shouldn’t… but we absolutely will.”

Amber is bold, playful, and knows exactly what she wants, while Theo is the responsible one who’s trying really hard to do the right thing...until he can’t. The tension between them is delicious, and Baker somehow makes the entire story feel both naughty and surprisingly sweet at the same time.

Even though it’s a quick read, it doesn’t feel rushed. There’s real emotion underneath the heat, and the writing flows in that effortless way Baker always delivers. I closed the book, wishing for more! More teasing, more heart, more of them.

If you love your romances with that forbidden tension, a lot of spark, and that signature R.D. Baker magic, this one’s a must read.

✨ best friend's dad
✨ age gap
✨ singe POV (from the MMC perspective)
✨ insta lust
✨ boring/no plot

I wanted to read this book so badly after seeing the quotes of it on Instagram. Unfortunately for me, this ended up not being that great ): There were quite a few typos, which was distracting, and it kind of read like a first draft. I also didn't really like either character. And, this is my own problem, but I don't like the pet name "honey" and my man used it 83 times 🥲😭 the ending was also a bit too cheesy for me.

and slight spoiler, but when his daughter finds out he's been sleeping with her best friend (also makes no sense how she even knew about them but whatever) she just doesn't care. she actually has to convince HIM to date her best friend. HELLO? such a cop out because this would not happen in any universe.

I would definitely try more from the author, this book just did not live up to the marketing posts I saw ):

You know when you're craving a hit of something smutty & deliciously taboo ...and then you get the hit ? After a tough week of nonsense, I just wanted to switch off & enjoy something spicy but with enough story, enough backbone to the characters so it didn't feel mindless. If this is the itch you're looking to scratch, look no further....

Amber and Theo. She's his daughter's best friend and they spend a SERIOUSLY hot, sweaty, spicy weekend together. I mean, SERIOUSLY. This is 85% of the book and there is some intermittent rays of burgeoning feelings and emotions that they both bury deep because of the taboo nature of their engagement. There is a last section that brings a very sweet HEA that i found to be very fulfilling.

It's a quick read, it hit a lot of what I was looking for. Zero notes.

No One Has to Know by R.D. Baker is a quick, smutty, wildly fun forbidden romance that's impossible to put down. Theo and Amber have electric chemistry from the start, and every scene between them crackles with tension, heat, and emotion.
What really stood out to me was Theo's character growth. While Amber knows exactly what she wants and goes after it unapologetically, Theo spends the story figuring himself out, and it made their dynamic feel balanced and real. Watching him come into his own added depth to all the steam and made the romance even more satisfying.
This is a hot, fast-paced, kinky read that will leave you sweating in your seat. If you love forbidden romance with plenty of spice, emotional tension, and two characters who are absolutely perfect together, this book delivers exactly what you want.

Kindle Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

R.D Baker does it again! She is fast becoming a favourite of mine, especially if you are into the taboo and the forbidden like me. This is a quick and spicy little novella (200 pages) that is perfect for an easy read or when you are between heavier or more complicated books.

This is a best friends Dad forbidden age gap romance (20 and 40+). It involves s*xy lessons and 'we will never tell' one weekend only goodness. The chemistry between Theo (Professor) and Amber (Engineering student) is off the charts. Amber knows what she wants and she is out to get it. Theo is happy to oblige….. "Yes Sir"!

I enjoyed the 18 months later HEA. This book is fast paced and has the right balance between sweet, smutty and fun! Enjoy! This one is on Kindle Unlimited.

This one could’ve been 5 stars. The first separation I could excuse but barely but the next three week separation after demeaning what they felt by mmc showed his lack of maturity and his apology via text letting her go again until she had to come back and do all the work again ruined the story.

Honestly the fmc should have joined a bdsm sex club and got herself a daddy to put her first and got engaged with a man his same age boom done hea but I’m a petty bitch

Also some of the mmc history gave me slight ick.

I am unsure what to say...
Ermmm..
I found this interesting to say the least. The spice didn't let the side down.
I wasn't particularly a fan of the repetitive use of "honey " from the mmc . I did feel that the MMCs actions and words contractdicted themselves a lot, but that was the point.
Best friend/ daughter of the MMC .. wow I did not expect that reaction. That gagged me. And the repetitivness of the MMCs age did get slightly boring after awhile.
despite this, it was short easy ish to read.

This book was deliciously spicy and definitely one of RDs more smuttier books. This book was definitely more spice than plot but still oh so enjoyable. Theo and Ambers love is so so wrong but so so dang hot and I really enjoyed reading about a cinnamon roll dilf with slutty glasses and a sexy college student who's bold and goes after what she wants. This was such a sweet and spicy not so short novella that I absolutely loved every moment of!

Very very smutty, fast paced and easy to read. It started off with a bit of plot and then felt like 70% of the book whizzed past with mostly sexy smutty scenes but the plot does pick back up at the end to tie off the storyline’s nicely. It’s not too long which I also loved. If you are after something seriously spicy hot to fire up your day check this one out. Be sure to check the triggers and tropes first to make sure it’s what you are after though, it’s very erotic with BDSM references.

Quickie review: This was a new to me author and it was exactly the trope I was looking for. That forbidden, best friend’s dad romance. Got to admit, there was lots and lots of “engagement” (😂) throughout the book, that I sometimes skimmed over. But the storyline was still great and even heartbreaking towards the end. I wanted them to be together and find a happily ever after and there was a stretch of time I lost hope of that happening. A great read and look forward to more. 5 Stars.
