I actually did like this story, however there were a few things that made it difficult to read ...Enough that it takes my rating from a 4 to a 3.
There were a lot of grammar errors. Too many for it not to be mentioned. This definitely needs to be re-worked and fixed, and you would actually have a pretty good beach read on your hands.
The pace is also very quick, maybe too quick for it to be believable. The beginning was specific in both Drew and Isabel being fearful of being in love after what they went through with dating in the past, yet they were in love a quarter of the way through. Its not the quick love that is the problem, its basically that its stating two different things. Nothing was taken slowly. As a novella, this pace would have been acceptable but in a full length novel, it actually turns it into a bunch of fluff that isn't very believable.
However, the characters are well written and do mesh well together. You cant help but love Drew. He is cute, sexy, sweet and has a hot career. any girl would definitely fall for him within a few hours of meeting him. Isabel is also a pretty sweet character. She is so far from whiny, and a joy to read.. I usually hate woman but Isabel has a fabulous sense of humor and you want to have a bestie just like her.
One more problem I found was with the ending. Now don't get me wrong, i love how Drew and Isabel ended their story however the lead into the next characters book, i felt just wasn't enough. We spent a lot of time with Isabel's family but Drew's was skimmed over and barely addressed and to be honest considering the name of the series is his last name, we should have gotten more time with his brothers and parents.
This book has so much potential to be a 5 star read but i really feel it needs to go back to the editing and beta processes and get a little bit of a work over.
I would recommend the story but I'd also recommend the problems I found being addressed and fixed.
Much luck to the author

This review is from: Catch Me (The Winters Family Series: Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
I love a great romance book.
There's nothing like falling into a story and meeting two people who will change each other's lives.
This was just that kind of book.
I found a fondness for Izzy. She connected to me, and drew me in. I loved everything about her. From her dialog,
to her little insecurities.
Terra Kelly wrote some amazing characters.
I won't spoil the plot, but if you like romances, sweet, sexy reads, then this is the book for you. I could picture myself sitting
on the beach and reading this book.
Great job, Ms. Kelly.
Keep writing! I look forward to the next book!

Romance, joy, love, and smiles

Believable, appealing characters with potent chemistry! Kelly skilfully relies on real-life events and emotions that we can all relate to. With such seemingly simple, but effective prose she doesn’t need a shocking or outrageous story line.

Masterfully under-pinned with fascinating families, the characters come to life. This is sexy, seductive, real and fun, with an added bonus of mouth-watering recipes

I’m not big on romance, but this book kept me turning the pages far quicker and more often than I usually do with this genre.

Catch Me! will leave you feeling, warm, happy, and upbeat – what more could you want!

This book is a very quick read. It's a fluffy little romance with a fair helping of smut.

There was a plot and it kept me interested, though it was a little fantastical at times!

A nice read if you're looking for something quick that doesn't require any thinking!

I'll start by saying this was out of usual reading range. I'm a guy, and I generally prefer thrillers. But I also belong to a group that had expressed a lot of good things about this author's work. I'd already been exploring books outside my comfort range, and thought this was a good book to also try.

I'm glad I did. Though this book didn't change my reading preferences, it did present a lot of good surprises, and exposed me to a whole new viewpoint, that of a plus size woman worth more than she realized. And how she came to value herself more.

The story itself is sweet, clean, and young. Yet also very sexy, with early graphic episodes. But, not before some very playful fun flirting. With dialog that was catchy and contemporary, and stayed that way.

That alone, without maybe more specific exploration of Isabel's issues about her insecurities, wouldn't have gotten me to give this book 5 stars. It was the combination of the story well told (consistent in tone and purpose), with the writer's technique that moved this from a 4 to a 5.

First, returning to the idea of more exploration about the female lead's feelings, we are told about which "kinds" of boys had passed her up, or ignored her. And there were moments, like -

[Isabel] "'...I love you more than chocolate.'

"Drew smiled, 'That sounds pretty serious.'

"Isabel smiled, 'You have no idea.'"

Lots of little gems.

But again, for me, it was the author's use of section breaks that brought the story to life.

Using short narratives and frequent segment breaks (denoted by extra space between the narratives), the point of view (pov) changed and mirrored and contrasted the two main characters' view of what was happening. The interaction was convincing for me. I believed the two characters real involvement with each other.

The author also used segment breaks within one person's pov to signify moments, pauses, that meant something to one or both characters. It's a nice touch, like reading a cinematic camera change with a written narrative. I hadn't seen this before.

And the author was able to do these segment changes and pauses with the same smoothness and fluidity within segments.

It created a convincing atmosphere of a genteel sweetness that was also hip and young.

There's more, but this alone swayed me to a 5 star.

And yes, it was a fun read. (smiles)

There are times when I like to read a good romance novel.
The reasons: I spend a lot of time writing mystery novels featuring strong female characters and I enjoy reading books that (a) give me some new perspectives and (b) show me how other authors treat their female characters, especially those with a mind of their own.
Author Terra Kelly's "Izzy" Sloane is a strong female character in "Catch Me," although there was a time when she wasn't. In fact, there was a time when she caved in to her former boyfriend's obsession with re-making her into his ideal woman. A Philadelphia television reporter, she wised up, took a job that led her to North Carolina and there fell in love with a hunky firefighter.
Unlike her former boyfriend, however, Drew Winters thinks she is already perfect and has no interest in making her into anything more than his girlfriend.
Kelly's writing is smooth and though Izzy and Drew spend a fair amount of time in each others' arms, the sex scenes in this novel aren't over the top. They are, instead, nicely written. What I liked most about this book was the fact that both Izzy and Drew read as "real" people: They are unsure of themselves in many respects, especially when it comes to admitting their feelings for each other. I also liked the fact that they come from loving families. I spent nearly 50 years as a journalist and, frankly, I saw too many dysfunctional families as part of that job and don't care to read about them now that I'm retired.
Kelly is also a cook with her own food blog so there's a fair amount of time spent in the various kitchens of "Catch Me." As someone who enjoys cooking myself, I also liked those scenes in the book and I especially liked the fact that Kelly includes recipes for some of the dishes Izzy and the other characters make at the end of the book. (I've tried two so far and will try them all...)
A fast read with interesting, likable characters, I thoroughly enjoyed "Catch Me" and would recommend it to romance readers without hesitation.

Catch Me is the first book in the Winter Family series, it is set in North Carolina and is the story of Isabele Sloane and Drew Winters.

Izzy is a reporter and has relocated from Philly to better her career, she finds herself living next to sexy local fireman Drew. The two leads are instantly attracted to each other and although Izzy initially questions that Drew could be attracted to her and her curves, the two begin a relationship.

Catch Me is an insta-love/lust story where the two leads fall hard and fast for each other and are both surprised by the intensity of the feelings they have for the other and the speed that they develop them. Although some insta-love stories seem rushed and unbelievable, the way that Terra Kelly manages to project Drew and Izzy's emotions draws the reader in and you feel that you are right there with them, feeling everything they feel.

This is a sweet, sexy and fun read. The romance is not bogged down by miscommunications, angst, or will they/wont they etc; It is a flirty and fun steamy romance, with very likeable characters that are believable and easy to relate to. There is also a good cast of supporting characters made up of Izzy and Drew's friends and family.

I really enjoyed Catch Me and will definitely be continuing with the Winters Family Series. 'Need You', Alex Winters and love interest Alyssa's story is next and is available now.

A copy of Catch Me was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

(I received a free copy of this book for an honest review)

I really enjoyed this book. While reading I found myself smiling and laughing. The characters are very realistic and I enjoyed getting to know them.

Isabel Sloane is a plus size women who for the most part is very comfortable in her own skin. She hasn’t had many boyfriends and the last one she had was sleazy Chad. After Isabel ends the relationship she decides to take a job at a local news station in North Carolina. The job was only supposed to be temporary.

Drew Winters is a sexy firefighter living on the beach in North Carolina. The only type of women he has dated are selfish and unhappy.

One day Drew notices new neighbor Isabel standing at her window in her house. At that moment he thought she was so beautiful and he wanted to get to know her. This story is about the two of them falling in love, and Isabel having to figure out her next career move. They are both very supportive of each others careers and are very close to their families.

This is a light and fluffy romance with very realistic life decisions. If you like sweet romances and quick reads this is the book!!! There is no cliffhanger and the end of the story makes you want to see what’s going to happen with the rest of Drew’s brothers. I'd also like to see what happens with Drew’s long time bestfriend Danny!!! I will be reading the rest of Terra Kelly's books.

Also, I loved the recipes at the end of the book! I will be trying them out :)

Rating: 3.5-4 Stars!

This is the story of Isabel Sloane and Drew Winters. Isabel has just moved for a temporary position to North Carolina from Philly after ending a relationship with a sleazy co-worker. After struggling with her feelings about her plus size body for most her life, feeling comfortable in her own skin but a little unsure about others. Isabel is unsure whether or not to believe it when the hunky firefighter Drew tells her she's gorgeous. She begins a relationship with him and falls hard, leaving her with questions can someone as gorgeous as him really love me? What happens when my time here is over? Will we really be able to have a future?

This story gets a 3.5 almost a 4 from me. I love the storyline and I love Drew and Isabel, they were honestly, just a little too much for me. They have a very romantic relationship I just felt like maybe they came off as a little too strong, too soon and while some people love this it's just not really for me. So if you want a super sweet easy read I recommend this to you and tell you to ignore my rating and give it a shot I am confident many readers can connect with them in a way I didn't.

A modern parable of bliss! For me this charming book embraces the ease and sincerity of a positive fable; the author`s desire to build a moat against an unkind world--and invite us into her loving, supportive and delicious bubble. It was so seductive, the steamy lovemaking and delectable dishes, I was almost sad to leave at Catch Me`s closing. Having the recipes used during to narrative posted at the end was a thoughtful touch. As for this Venus and Mars thing that allegedly separates us, after reading Kelly we all desire similar things: sensuality, trust, magnetic attraction, supportive family and friends, and a horn-of-plenty supply of yummy food. As for the moral of the fable: be content, embrace change, revere oneself. avoid negative karma and sex is not a dirty word if blissfully shared with a loved partner.

A wonderful, passionate love story.

Once in a while I like to take a break from the murder and mayhem within the thrillers I typically read. The cover of this book caught my eye and I picked it up…and simply liked it very much. The storyline isn’t complicated – girl meets boy, they fall in love, etc. But the author did very well in developing the characters to the point where I began to care for them. Not just Isabel and Drew (hot stuff!), who’d be fun to hang around with, but also their families (Drew’s brothers eerily similar to mine). As well, I also enjoyed the cottages-on-the-beach setting, a perfect location for this steamy romance. There were conflicts along the way, of the will he/she or won’t he/she type, enough to take me through the story and keep my interest all the way to the final ending. Oh, and the recipes…yum. In short, I thought this was a wonderful love story. I’d read more from this author.

My rating is solely based on my taste. I didn't like the story. There was little to no plot and the characters did not live up to the author's description. They were described as commitment shy, but fell in love and into bed without a moment of hesitation. Even the cover was a contradiction. The female character described herself as a plus-sized girl, while the cover depicts anything but that.
The very little bit of conflict was so insignificant I don't know why the author bothered.
The writing was okay, although too redundant and Ms. Kelly went briefly from third party into first party a few times.
This story is so sickly sweet I felt the need to see my dentist. If you are looking for a easy read full of love and not much else, you will probably like this.

This story is a little bit different from the last couple of ones that i read.
The love storylike Isabel a Drew have, can ring to your door.
From the first time they saw each other the attraction was high. They wanted to be together from day one.
Isabel is a reporter in a local channel, and wanted to fly high, so she moved to North Carolina to do her job, grow up on her carrier and then settle down in her home town.
Drew is a firefighter, love his job and had enough woman in his life and dream of finding the one.
And then they see each other for the first time.
Seeing him and getting along with drew, make Isabel think if she really can find happiness.
This story make me realized that when we are in love, everything is different, for the best of course.

I would describe this book as great summer reading. The type of story that leaves you happy and allows you to escape in to the world of romance.

I particularly enjoyed the two main characters. Isabel was made more believable due to her experiencing human self-doubt and insecurity. While Drew the alpha, handsome male had a history of superficial women in his life that made him feel real.

Family connections feature strongly within the story line and allow the reader to be pulled in to the characters journey.

This book is an enjoyable read. It will leave you feeling warm and attached to the people that fill the pages. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I really enjoyed everything having to do with the story that is told in this book. The chemistry and families left me wanting to read more and see family member more in depth. The only thing that really bugged me in this book is really just a matter of formatting. Everything just kind of flowed from one paragraph to the next, but it would switch people or jump in time so I would be reading and all of sudden be like oh wait this is her perspective now. Honestly just adding breaks would solve this. Other then that I really enjoyed the story and the writing was great. I can not wait to read the next Winter family member!

What a great first book and beginning for this freshman author :) A sweet, romantic, easy read that's good for when you're busy and may have to stop reading, at least it was for me. I was able to put it down when my un-plugged life interfered with reading. But, as soon as I had the time to pleasure read, I did look forward to getting back to this story :) ... Even tho I won this in a book event online, I would definitely recommend this read to fiction lovers of romance :)

It was sweet and made for a nice Saturday afternoon read while I was getting healthy again. I enjoyed the relationships with their families and the main characters. It is not very often you read a man who admits that he may have been judging based on appearance so this was a breath of fresh air.

Will look forward to the rest of the series

Drew Winters is a firefighter and the middle brother in the Winters family. Isabel Sloan is a gorgeous plus size reporter who moved to Wilmington, North Carolina as a reporter for the local television station. Isabel lives across the street from Drew on the beach. Isabel likes to walk around naked, and one day Drew is at his front door and looks over and sees her standing in her window with no clothes on. He ends up introducing himself to Isabel a little later and they take a walk. Isabel can't believe that such a good looking guy is interested in her. She was made fun of because of her body size when she was younger. Her ex was always talking about her body size and trying to get her to watch what she eats. But there is something between the two of them that they both feel. I enjoyed s book and getting to know Isabel and Drew. They are both fun people to be around. I encourage you to read the book.

I received a free copy but voluntarily reviewed it.

This is a very interesting book about two people falling in love. It is the first book in the Winters Family serial, and, based on this book, I think this will be an excellent series.

Drew Winters is a firefighter in Wilmington, a small town on the coast of North Carolina. Isabel “Izzy” Sloane is a news reporter from Philadelphia who moves to Wilmington. She is a plus size woman who has, often, been, unfairly, judged based to her size. In spite of that, she loves to lounge around the house in the nude.

Drew and Izzy are neighbors. When Drew spies Izzy nude and looking out her window, he decides to meet her. There is an instant attraction. The author uses the rest of the book to beautifully share their growing love for each other. This involves fun, laughter, adventure, lovemaking, family as well as their ordinary life and routine. I loved it all!

Alert: I am not a big fan of graphic sex, but this author, very skillfully, depicts it as lovemaking. Therefore, it is beautiful, loving, humorous, sweet and realistic. The author uses their lovemaking depict each character’s personality as well as the beauty of their growing relationship.
I loved this book, and I can’t wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this book!

Isabel grew up in Philadelphia, but when she gets a job offer in Wilmington, NC, she looks at it as a way to explore a new area of the country. She gets a cottage by the water, and is enjoying her new life. Then she meets her neighbor
Drew. There is chemistry from the first time they meet. The more they learn from each other, the more they enjoy spending time together. Isabel only planned to be in North Carolina temporarily, though.

I would give this book three stars. A quick read, and I enjoyed it. The recipes at the end were a nice touch, too. The only thing I didn't like was how insecure Isabel was about herself. It was a bit strange to me how someone so insecure about her body but yet walk around naked all the time. All in all, it was a good book, though. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Catch Me is book one in The Winters Family series by Terra Kelly. I really enjoyed the storyline and the story has some great characters. This book can be read as a stand alone, but don't stop here. I read book four first and I can tell you there is more greatness to come! The main two characters in this story are Drew Winters & Isabel Sloan. Can't wait to read more about them!

I don’t understand why an author would change the name of their books!
I was going to read this book and found out I all ready read it under another name. Now “Hard to Resist”.

Drew and Izzy, can they find love

Izzy moved from Philadelphia to North Carolina to work in a TV station. Her neighbor, Drew, is a fireman who has grown up in the area. They have a spark, but Izzy's contract is only for two years. The story grows as their relationship changes. For those who enjoy the love story with conflict of course. I received this book free for an honest review.
