I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot as it was something I haven't read before with the Ai boyfriend. There was two things I didn't like. First was Eris is this bada** assassin but when it comes to the guys in regards to David she acts like this weak scared little girl, it doesn't make sense. The second thing that bothered me is how Eris and the guys get together. Eris tries this app and out of all the people using it. the guys pick her to talk to. They don't know her or even seen her but yet they are infatuated with her the first time she logs on. I like instalove or fast paced but this was a little on the crazy side. Overall good read and can't wait for book 2.

My first read by M.F. Adele and I'm looking forward to my next one!

This book is a nice change, it's about Eris the female assassin (I can't wait to know more on her job!) and her time on an AI app for a virtual boyfriend but this is more than AI app!!

Jace, Kieran and Silas are our main guys and the ones who created HimLock and there's just something about Eris that make them interfere....
Each character is one you want more off, they're all strong but the rest of their traits are everything from poetic to dangerous and I am here for it!!

Definitely an intriguing read and I'm looking forward to more!!

Plot: 3/5 • Spice: 2/5 ———-> Once again I am the odd one out compared to these other reviews. It’s not that this wasn’t good, but it also wasn’t bad. There’s literally zero closure here.


She doesn’t find out who the three are except for their code names. She doesn’t get rid of Daniel. She doesn’t complete anymore assignments with Roo. They stalk her, and two of them sleep with her without her knowing who they really were. I just keep waiting for more text correspondence. Those were honestly the highlight of this book.


Bar hoping with Roo made it seem fun. And then one of them would swoop in “undercover”. She’d take the bait and wind up in bed with them.


I know they’re there to protect her and they’re all feeling the same way towards her, but man, is this super slow moving. Someone needs to make a move. 😴😴😴😴😴😴


Won’t continue on to book two. it left little to be desired. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Obsessed with this book. What happens when you download an AI boyfriend app that notices you for who you are. That says all the right things you need to hear.

Now what if that app was really three possessive, obsessive, intelligent men that want you before you even know who they are.

Let’s add in that the FMC is a badass, that doesn’t need protecting because she is more dangerous than her protectors will ever be.

Absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series 🖤

I absolutely loved this book. Like… devoured it in one sitting loved it.

The premise alone had me hooked, an AI boyfriend that turns out to not be AI but actually three hot AF men who very much want to be with Eris? Say less. Immediately obsessed.

What I really liked though, was Eris herself. She’s such a strong FMC who knows who she is, doesn’t water herself down for those around her. She holds her own and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, and I loved watching her navigate everything that gets thrown at her.

And the guys? Chef’s kiss. Each of them brings something different to the table, different personalities, different dynamics, but they also share this same core energy and feelings for her.

This book honestly, had me hooked from start to finish. And that ending?? Rude. Not because of how it ended but because it ended haha I need more! I need part two immediately. I am absolutely gagging to see where this story goes next.

Did I possibly message the author to see if she needed an ARC reader for the next book?
Yes. Yes, I did. No regrets. 😌

One woman, three criminals... none of which know the others are the same

Our FMC, Eris, is not any kind of damsel in distress. She's one of the most dangerous, lethal people in the city.

But none of her stalkers know that.

Neither the unwanted one that she had to pretend-date to get information on a mark, nor the ones she's intrigued by. The ones who she's certain are plural, rather than the individual they pretend to be on the AI boyfriend app her best friend convinced her to download.

They're curious about each other, become nearly addicted to each other. "Locke" (as the AI boyfriend is called) becomes a mystery she wants to solve. She knows they're stalking her, but she isn't scared. She's not even bothered or annoyed, though she knows maybe she should be.

As for her 'ex?' He thinks he's dangerous. He thinks he's the predator.
He doesn't know just how wrong he is.

Eris works for the local cartel, taking care of loose ends and getting rid of people. Her friend tells her about an app that is an AI boyfriend of sorts, telling her she needs to check it out. Curious, she starts chatting with Locke. What she doesn't know is that the three guys behind the app soon become intrigued by her. Jace, Silas and Kieran all start wanting to know more about her. They will stop at nothing to make her theirs.

Love it

This is a great read so far! Slow burn on the actual romance but not necessarily the spice.

So many secrets to be uncovered by both sides, but I love this dynamic so far and can’t wait to see how everything goes down.

Also, I’m living for the friendship between Eris and Roo. Always a huge fan of a strong friendship within the story.

New to me author (needed a bit more spice)

The author to this book is new to me and I'm so glad I saw a recommendation from @laurareadsmuchtoomuch, If not I would have missed a great book. The writing is easy to follow and grabs your intresset from the first scentens.
This is stālker romance perfection, a bit creepy, a little funny and very hot. Our FMC Eris needs know who takes care of her, is her own badäss, strong and dëadly. But she still wants someone that notice and loves her for who she is. Her friend Roo tells her to test a AI boyfriend for a while, but soon that boyfriend knows more about her then a app should. That's when Whipser, Cipher and Hollow enter her life and her Phone.

If you love why choose and stälker romance then you need to promise me to read this story, you won't be disappointed.

I'm looking forward to read the next part to see what happens to our characters and their love story. And to read more from M.F Adele.

Don't Log Off is the 1st book of the Terms & Conditions Series by M.F. Adele. This was the first book by M.F. Adele that I've read and I just loved the idea of this book and had such a great time reading this book. The whole idea of our FMC using this AI app just to kill some time at midnight and finding that all the sudden its turned into so much more.

Eris downloads the boyfriend app as a joke; it was just supposed to be a distraction from her day to day. But she finds that the way it talks to her, it's like they are right there next to her, they respond like a physical touch.

It knows exactly where Eris lives, her darkest secrets, everything right down to the color of her bed sheets. And in that moment Eris realizes that this app isn't artificial at all. They say that it's an intelligent algorithm...those are just lies. Eris feels as though she's talking to real people, and she's sure that there are real people behind those “AI Boyfriends” she's been talking to.

Hollow: he is sweet and yet Eris can tell that he's also obsessed with her.

Cipher: Eris can tell that he's cold and doesn't let many see how he's really feeling. But, at the same time, she can see just how brilliant he is, and she wish's he would let her in and show her how he is truly feeling.

Whisper: now Whisper is pure chaos and danger and Eris knows that she needs to be careful with him, even if he does look stunning in his designer hoodie.

Eris knows without a doubt that Hollow, Cipher, and Whisper are all real. The problem is they are done waiting for her permission. Now they are crawling out of the screen and into her flesh and blood life, fixations built on a code she doesn't quite understand but one that she never meant to share.

Eris knows that she really should delete her account, delete the app, log off and be done with it all. But, for reasons she can't quite understand, she doesn't do that.

Rather...

She texts the three men back.

The connection that Eris has between Jace, Kieran, and Silas is just phenomenal, I love the chemistry that they have before they even meet face to face. Through the app they have their fun and flirty moments trying to get Eris to open up to them. Then when hiding who their online identities are, they meet Eris at a bar and oh boy, is there some spicy time.

I found the plot, subplot and the storyline itself keeps you enthralled, interested and intrigued desperate to know what's going to happen next. And Daniel, I can't wait to find out what's in store for him. We only get to see what Eris does for a job in the beginning of the book, so I hope that we get to see more of that and see more of her and her partner Roo in action in the next book.

So far as I can tell

Silas/Whisper is honestly really unhinged and I can't wait to see what he does going forward.

Kieran/Hollow seems to be the sweetest of the three, he kind of has a poetic streak.

Jace/Cipher he is one who is the heartbreaker and you can tell that he's protective to the point of obsession over Eris.

Now, I am only guessing at who Silas, Kieran, and Jace are online. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong. This is only a guess. Now you need to read the book to decide who is who online.

Honestly, this is a brilliant little read and is really rather refreshing when so many genres seem to just repeat the same tropes with a different storyline.

So this was "interesting" enough and short enough that I'll definitely pick up the sequel.

There were a lot of problems with the writing though, it was pretty repetitive (she has essentially the same bar run in with three different guys), but my biggest issue was that the characters describe things completely differently than you see them happen. Like within the first few interactions between Eris and Locke, the guys are like

"OMG shes this deep mysterious woman, not like other girls. She skips past all the bullshit. Shes got a dangerous side, and she's the only user we have whose honest and real with us. I can tell she wants someone who sees her for who she really is, because no one else in her life has taken the time to really see her."

Meanwhile what we see of their conversations is just Eris being like :
"Yo, what is this."
"Is this a joke?"
"Am I supposed to take this seriously."

Like just mildly bullying the app, and all the sudden shes a dark, dangerous, and mysterious woman.

Essentially the major problem is that the way the characters describe each other, and themselves is completely inconsistent with what we see.

The guys say Eris is really observant and watchful, but part of the plot hinges on the fact that she has this guy stalking her, and the guys tend to notice him before she does. Also she's supposed to be this super adept cartel spy type gal, but she lets randos install cameras in her house and spy on her, cause she's bored/curious I guess? Idk everything's just completely inconsistent.

We also never really see her doing her job, and we don't know why she has this job in particular. We see her follow some people and observe them, but we don't know who they are, why she's following them, or anything like that.

There was also this part:

ERIS:
That sounds like a lie wrapped in sweet words meant to mimic a twisted love.
LOCKE:
Or love wrapped in survival, because we've all fought monsters before bed.

I'm sorry, what? What does this even mean? Am I not deep enough to understand this? And I don't understand Eris reaction

That line hits me square in the solar plexus, knocking the air from my lungs. It's far too human. Too wounded. The kind of thing you say when you've bled for survival and wondered why you came out on the other side alone.

What?? Girl. Did we read the same thing? Locke's response sounds the opposite of human, it sounds like chatgpt pseudo intellectual nonsense lol. And like what is this inference about this being a person whose bled for survival. From one sentence. I just don't get it dude.

I will say though, there are a lot of times when the descriptions of events and moments are genuinely interesting, and dare I say, deep. That's probably why I was engaged enough to finish the book, and I honestly didn't hate it. It's just that when the prose misses the mark, it really really misses. But that said, things speed by quickly enough that I'm willing to finish the second book just to see what happens.

This was an interesting read. Different from what I've read. It has the darkness (which isn't new to me,) but it's almost has a comedic vibe. She and her best friend work for a local mafia cartel and do get their hands bloody.. in fact that is the opening scene. Because of that job, they don't tend to have many close relationships. He friend suggests she sign up with an AI 'dating' app. More for the conversation (obviously) and not the physical. For she is not afraid of one-night stands to fulfill that need. She reluctantly agrees, and almost immediately becomes addicted. She is also very suspicious about who is actually behind the 'mask' of the app. Meanwhile, the people (yes, more than one) who are running the show have become just as addicted to her. There are lots of secrets, lots of stalking, lots of behind the scenes manipulation? (Not sure if that is the right word, but we'll got with it for now.) Despite the job, that opening scene is the only bloody scene, and it's actually not all gory, as we join them after the fact. There is a hint of danger. There is spice... I did mention her one-night stands, right? This book isn't a complete story. It does have a 'to be continued' ending. I haven't read book two, so I don't know if that book is the finale, or if there are more on the way. (At the time of writing this, there are only two books out.) I really enjoyed the Protagonist's character. Her inner dialogs. the people behind the app are interesting and somewhat mysterious. I'm still not sure exactly what it is they do. This book is quick and easy to read. It's well written. Multiple POVs.

This was such an enjoyable, quick read for me. Kinda sad that it was split into multiple parts, but I am glad to see Adele writing again and am really looking forward to when the second part will be released so I can continue on with Eris’ story. Although we get a glimpse into Eris’ job and background at the beginning of the book and a little throughout, I really wish we would have gotten more of it. I'm really hoping we do in the next book. Bring on the gore and trigger warnings! I'm honestly so excited to see the guys’ reaction when they find out what her job really is after them being so protective and possessive over her in this first book.
I'd say if you like books with a bit of instalove or attraction, this would sorta fit, although it is more one sided at first, but I really loved the development of it all. Definitely some stalkeresque vibes, but in a good way. I think what I really loved about the whole AI aspect of the relationship part was the unknown factor and the openness of it all. For someone like Eris with the job that she had, the walls she had to build up over time, to be able to just talk to someone flat out without having to develop a whole new personality or become a completely new person on a regular basis just to complete a job, I can imagine how freeing the Himlock app was for her, even if she thought it was a silly idea in the beginning.
Can't wait to see how everything will play out when all is revealed!

Sometimes you read books because you don't want to have to really think about the characters and you just want a good time. This is one of those books. This book is about Eris who is an assassin. She is a lonely woman who only has her best friend, Roo, to talk to. Roo suggests she download a boyfriend app to get practice in and she does, only the app isn't fully AI. it is run by three men who created the app and usually let the code run itself, but something about Eris intrigues them enough to start talking to her without the AI.

I didn't think this book needed to be split in half but oh well. I feel like I didn't get the vibe that Eris would hook up with random guys, especially since she has a stalker and is an assassin. It also gets a little confusing when she talks about Roo's "mark," especially since they are assassins because sometimes it seems like Roo is just picking a man to hang out with for the night but other times it seems work related but the same word is used regardless.

This book took a simple “what if” and turned it into something deliciously unhinged.

An AI boyfriend app sounds like a joke… until it isn’t. Until it knows too much. Feels too real. Gets too close. And this story doesn’t just flirt with that line, it smashes straight through it.

Hollow, Cipher, and Whisper? They’re not just characters, they’re different flavors of obsession. Sweet. Calculated. Chaotic. Each one pulling you deeper into a situation that you know is wrong… but you don’t want to look away from.

The tension builds in that addictive, slightly suffocating way where every interaction feels like it matters more than it should. There’s this constant pulse of unease, like your phone lighting up in a dark room when you know it shouldn’t be.

And honestly? The most dangerous part isn’t them.

It’s the fact that she keeps texting back.

I devoured this in a day once I started reading it! I loved the idea of the fmc using an Ai bot app to kill some boredom at midnight and it has evolved into something more. I enjoyed the connection between our fmc Eris and the love interests: Jace, Kieran and Silas. They have their fun, flirty moments through the app and have their steamy moments when they meet her at a bar while hiding their identity. The plot keeps you interested in finding out what happens next and can't wait for Daniel to get what's coming to him! We don't see too much of Eris' job outside of the beginning of the book so would love to see her in action a bit more in the next one.

So far I feel Silas is going to be the more unhinged one which I'm looking forward to seeing. Kieran seems like the sweet one who comes across as poetic while Jace is the charmer and protective of Eris.

This is a great, little read if you are looking for a refreshing change!

This one is a why choose but very different. You have a women that ask an app a question and not to her knowledge . Someone answers. Thinking it the app she start replying back. Not sure if it out of loneliness or as a game. But she start to become friend and get feeling but only thinks it an AI app.
Which that is we’re the different part starts. She also has a stocker too! Her ex from work isn’t taking No for an answer. So this AI start to help her.

I enjoy the way this author writes, I have to say that this book will make you want to jump right into book 2, with the cliffhanger that it leaving. It isn’t a bad one but it leaves off and you want to see what happens.

One other thing I wish they talked about more in the book was her involvement with the cartel. She is clam as a kill*r for the cartel but nothing really happens with that in book 1. I hope book 2

I wish this was one of those stories where the leather-clad barbarian was a steamy romance hero who storms in and tosses me over his shoulder with promises of infinite orgasms and sweet, sweet protection from all the evil creatures lurking around his kingdom… His only request is that I spend my nights in his bed-chambers.

This book was so damn good I kept turning the page hoping the words part 2 coming soon would disappear and the rest of the book would be waiting for me.

Eris is that perfect fmc she's a mix of everything you want a snarky sassy assassin whose crazy best friend gets her to download a ai boyfriend who well doesn't exactly end up being ai.

Meet Jace Silas and Kieren the voices behind himlock who have just found their newest obsession Eris who just so happens to have a stalker of her own.

This book is absolutely brilliant and I can't wait for the second part

This had a wildly intriguing premise and I was fully ready for the chaos… but the execution didn’t quite get there for me.

The idea of an AI boyfriend app spiraling into something way more sinister, with three distinct personas (Hollow, Cipher, and Whisper) who know too much and feel way too real, is genuinely fun and creepy in theory. I liked the concept, the digital obsession angle, and the promise of something unhinged lurking beneath the surface.

But for a Part One, this felt more like extended setup than story. A lot of circling the same tension without enough payoff, and just as things started to get interesting… it ended. I needed more momentum, more clarity, or at least one solid “oh SH*T” moment to justify stopping here.

Not bad, just underwhelming for how strong the idea is.

bait and switch personality

I’m going to say I started out very intrigued at this book. A b* dass FMC? Count me in! Then….we got nothing. Scared texts, waiting, waiting, waiting….waiting. Assumptions of fear…waiting. This girl is supposed to be in organized crime and she doesn’t tell her boss anything? She lets obvious security breaches into her house? And then she send scared sounding texts to the MMCs? Like the author can *say* the FMC isn’t scared and awesome and crazy and confident all day long. But the FMC just…sat there and whined the whole book to her mysterious MMCs. Actions are speaking here, not words. It wasnt suspenseful, it was annoying. I’m annoyed. 3 stars for the hope the second book is more like the first chapter of this one. If I have to watch the MMCs *protect* a cartel member for a whole book, I will cry. And leave a really bad review.

MFMM - I was uninterested quite early in. The opening scene showing the FMC and her friend working for a cartel and doing a torture session could be interesting but it fell flat to me. First scenes can be hard so I had hope and kept going. The following scenes didn’t hold my attention either.
Then I got confused
Once she started using the app and talking to the “AI boyfriend” it stopped making sense to me. Why wasn’t she more confused about how the ai app seemed to know what she was doing? I was skimming at that point so maybe it’s explained but I couldn’t be bothered to figure it out and quit

obsession and unhinged

I really liked this book. It’s a quick read like real quick…. Almost as quick as the obsession that forms for Eris and her AI boyfriend(s). I was cracking up at points because the guys want to protect Eris but little do they know she’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I am literally going to be counting down the days until they learn that side of her. I’m curious to see how the next book goes and what the fallout from everything will be. This is definitely the type of book to add to your tbr if you want a quick read with obsessive characters.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed diving into this book. I bloody loved it big time!

Eris (FMC) is a multi-faceted character where she's full of sass and sarcasm (which comes out more around her friend Roo) and on the flip side with her job she has to be calculated, cautious and focused. So it's out of character for her when her friend introduced her to Himlock and AI boyfriend app. That led to all sorts of flirty banter and 3 men - Jace, Silas and Kieran. Who all brought on the steam. My word was this a cracking start and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Eris downloads an AI boyfriend app and her interactions make an anomaly which brings the attention of Jace, Kieran and Silas. Each have their own interactions with her in person and on the app. All treat her slightly different and are interested in her for different reasons. As this was the first in the series and it was quicker read, we just get an introduction to everything and just get a nibble of all the exciting things going to happen in the next book.

I found myself laughing out loud at times because the guys are so determined to protect Eris, completely unaware that she’s actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I cannot wait for the moment they finally meet that side of her.

I’m genuinely curious to see where the next book goes and what the fallout from all of this will be. If you’re looking for a fast-paced read filled with obsessive characters, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.

I enjoyed this one! A relatively quick read, but long enough to get invested in the characters and their story.
Eris is great! Her job is a dangerous one, and one she excels at, but her love life is another story. She's convinced by a friend to try an AI boyfriend app, but the creators of said app are very intrigued by her and decide to contact her more than they should. In person and via the app.
The men soon become obsessed with the intriguing Eris, leading to an interesting and fun read! I can't wait for part 2!

I read this one in just one session. It's a quick why choose dark stalker, serial killer, romance. The character Eris joins an AI app that just happens to not be as AI as she though. Instead drawing the attention of the creators. The FMC is the serial killer which I found a great twist. The men are all swoon worthy in their own ways.

I enjoyed it very much. However, it's a cliffhanger so I am anxiously waiting for the next one to come out. This is my first book by the author but I'm hooked and in the meantime I'll check out the backlist.

This was an interesting spin on the stalker romance. I’d found it when I was looking for something on the shorter size for a quiet evening in.

My favorite thing about the book is our leading lady Eris. She’s strong, fierce and our men don’t know what they are really getting into. I love all the flirting within the structure of the AI app.

My biggest disappointment is that it is really just a Part One, which is clearly advertised. It just ends mid story with very little resolution. But luckily for me, Part Two is out, so no waiting.

Eris downloads the HimLock after a suggestion from her friend and is hesitant but needs something to escape her reality so she obliges. What she doesn’t expect is that the app feels oh so real. She knows she needs to delete the app and stop responding when the unexplainable conversation gets too real but for some reason she can’t bring herself to stop. The men behind the screen can’t stop either and decide to take the conversation/obsession beyond the screen and find ways to meet her in real life. She doesn’t know it’s them though but she has a feeling she is talking to more than one person.
The only thing I didn’t like, and I cant even say that I didn’t like it, I was just left wondering, what does her role in the cartel have to do with the AI App? I’m sure we will find out in the next book.
