He is my partner in arms and guns. He is my best friend. We go on missions together, we work out together, and we support each other. We are both Alphas.
One health issue requires him to help me out... in ways that could only be described as scandalous in the Alpha society. But he is the only one I trust, and after the first time, I know I am ruined. No Omega could give me what Hawk does.
This short, steamy novella is written from Phoenix's point of view and is a standalone in a series of books called Steamy Omegaverse. Nothing in this book should be reproduced in real life. This is strictly fantasy-related and for a good-time read. Little Plot, More Smut between two Alpha guys. ( Lot's of breeding and knotting)
Blackburn is an independent writer into the dark erotica genre; horror-erotica, dark romance, taboo stories with steamy content that will make the reader all captivated. The kinkier, the better... the creepier, the best. A complete dark vibe envelops each page they write.
Blackburn loves horror movies, crime documentaries, rainy days, vodka with raspberry flavor and you can see them at their desk crafting new worlds that will pull you into a journey full of steamy moments and suspense.
When Blackburn sits at their desk, they put on the headphones, start the music, and as they listen to music, scenarios began to play into their head and the fingers hit the keyboards creating the stories.
One of the best things about being a writer is the interaction with my readers.
It’s one of those books where you find yourself repeatedly asking “wtf why am I reading this?!” But you can’t stop. This book is a trainwreck, and it sucks you in.
The author promised little plot, and he delivered. Although there was more than I expected. So I went in fully expecting an erotica. No biggie there.
My two main complaints that really brought the book down for me are below:
- The blurb is a bit misleading. There is no sign that these guys are friends before the “health issues” begin. Instead Hawk seems to take pleasure in putting Phoenix down, and Phoenix seemingly hates it, but refuses to react.
- There are no TWs in this book. Which fine. I don’t have any triggers so that’s no biggie. But I do have icks. Degradation is one of my biggest icks. It just removes all enjoyment from my reading. Degradation is a main component of Phoenix and Hawk’s relationship. Had that been included in the blurb or a TW page, I probably would’ve avoided reading.
Also the prolific use of “pup” and “puppy” as pet name gave me the ick too.
I got the underlying plot and premise of the book, and I think it could have been a great book. There was just something missing that I couldn't quite put my finger on... some of the phrases got repetitive.. I get it he's an alpha, it's not normal for 2 alphas to be together... he wants to fight him off.. got it.
