My mother was an addict. Let me run the streets wild and I fell into the game in order to provide for myself the way she wouldn't. And then I got addicted to the game. They called me City, because no matter what lane or zip code I stepped into, I made things happen. My respect was a given, until getting set up cost me years of my life. Now I'm on to a new lane, and an even more potent love.
A man of many titles but his heart remains the same. What would you do for the love of City?
Enjoyed this one, Dandridge just one of those authors that ima rate higher lmao like I’m biased she always start at a 3.5. Only reason this wasn’t 5 was the pregnancy confusion. At 35 having consistent unprotected sex and playing dumb saying it perimenopause just pissed me off. Like sorry you and Corey too old to be stupid. ESPECIALLY CUS that man ain’t pull out since the probably chapter 4. Otherwise this was good all issues were tied up nicely. I can’t wait to see what’s to come. Like I said Dandridge is the best urban/ romance author at interconnecting her series. Like she is gonna give you just enough to intrigue, it’s never poorly executed she could really teach a class on how to lead the readers to the next story without drowning us in BS and info.
City was the man. The story was exceptional and it held my complete interest. He and Porsha were too cute. The characters from other books are always a pleasure and a treat. Lyrics parts in the storyline were a bonus.
I love City and Porsha together. They both have some thug in them but they know how to be vulnerable and soft with each other. I love the way City went at her pace but absolutely took care of his woman even from the shadow. It's good to see how him and Lyric came to be family even though it was effed up. I love that him and Travis stepped up. I get tickled at how they don't know what to call each other but she's his chap and that's her dad for all tense and purpose. It may not be by blood but by love and protection. It was good seeing all of the gang again. I recommend you reading this because I definitely have love for the City.
I loved the way Dandridge caught us up in their love story but also gave us the rundown of their pasts. I loved their banter, their friendship, and their romance. Even when she was a little scared she still stood tall for him. It was clear they had each other no matter what. I really enjoyed the connections made to the consortium series and the guest appearances of some of our faves! As always, Dandridge hit this out of the park!
Baby!! When I tell you I love me some City!! His whole vibe & being and the way he loved on his Pretty P!! This was a sexy & funny and opened and closed doors! I love him. Everybody got they just.
I would highly recommend reading the desperado series before reading this book HOWEVER, I’ve only read one book in that series so far & I was able to keep up & figure some things out but I do feel like if I would’ve read the entire series specifically the Quaterbacks Keeper prior to reading this book it would’ve flowed better for me but that’s a reader thing. All that aside the book was good af!!! I’ve gotten glimpses of City & Porscha in some of the other books I’ve read by Dandrige & their book did not disappoint at all. This book got me out of a slump I was creeping in. It was good & entertaining.
I loved it. City was everything. I love City and Lyric’s bond ( brother/sister and daddy/daughter. Lyric definitely gave Wednesday vibes when she was around City.
I was so glad to see Porsha find love. She deserved that. To read Porsha and Lyric’s backstory was good. Lyric’s mom was something else. I’m glad Lyric kept her energy around her mom. To leave a child as a teenager was horrible.
At this point, anything D writes is gold. City was such an intentional man. Pretty P had trust issues and deep insecurities but one thing she never doubted was Big C’s love for her. Great story and so much fun seeing the reunion with all the past characters. Can’t wait for the football season books 🥳
At first Porsha had me mad cause she was playing with my man Corey. This man was nothing like her ex but she was so stubborn that she was pushing a good man away. Now since Corey ain’t wrapped to tight and he had his sights on her, he was willing to play while hitting her with some pressure. Now I need to see Trav get his HEA, great story overall
Yes! YES! YEEEEEEEES! This book was everything I hoped it would be. Love is patient. Love is kind. This is exactly what that scripture means to me! You outdid yourself once again
Corey (City) and Porsha love story was touching and explosive. The way City loved her was top tier. Dive into this catalog by Dandridge Monroe you will have hours and hours of great stories.
One of my favorite series. Took one star off because I wish we could have gotten a lil more build up to them coming together and then sis gave us a big time jump lol. I’m sorry Dandrige I’m greedy you could have given us another 50-100 pages 🤣
Ms. Monroe you never disappoint. You follow through is perfection. We appreciate your hard work that you craft to keep us hooked anticipating your next book.
3.7 .. It was a cool story but was very wordy. The parts where I would’ve liked more details lacked and the parts that I didn’t feel needed as much, went on and on.
City was a refreshing read after some of the heaviness in Shâhzâdeh (which was epically good). But as always, Dandridge knows how to balance her overall world/universe perfectly. Here we get Corey, aka City and his Pretty P, aka Porsha ripping and running. The length was just right, and for once, it actually isn't a slow burn. Dandridge wisely starts us off with peeks at their past, a flashforward or back??? Into their first entercounter & first hunching and from there it's ready, set, game, MATCH! I loved the low stakes in this romance. There wasn't some huge impediment, just regular ole insecurities and trust, but the story still moves at a great clip. Seeing City pour so much dick, I mean love...I mean love and dick, in Porsha was nice. This book felt a little bit like a homecoming or waystation. Like some other storylines are wrapping up to make way for new phase of the universe and it's again nice.
The smex scenes were popping. Watching love on the page was validating. Seeing some cameos from our favs made me crack a smile, and Travi Trav Travis is now Big Daddy, and there isn't any other way to say it or put it.
Dandridge Monroe delivers on all fronts as always 😁, offering smooth writing and good times.
