York is missing. The cartel knows. The government’s involved. Nowhere is safe.
Outgunned on foreign soil, nowhere is safe as York, Theresa, and William find themselves pitted against the ruthless Aces—brothers with a reputation for violence. But emotions run as high as the adrenaline when what happens between the sheets starts to affect their focus, leaving them more vulnerable than they realize.
When the Aces turn the tables on York, he finds himself in a dark place he's not sure he can come back from—and he's willing to kill everyone, pay any price, even sell his soul to the devil himself, if it will take away the pain.
Caught between the two men who destroyed her life as a Raven, not even the world burning down around her can stop Theresa from falling for them—both of them. All she wants now is to finish this cursed operation and get out of Venezuela alive. Hopefully, she won’t have to do it alone.
This story had me on the edge of my seat! I don’t want to give away the full story but I do want to discuss the characters. Theresa York and Will. A trio that works really well together even though they shouldn’t. The tension and chemistry surrounding these three was wonderful to watch and I really enjoyed the developing relationships between these people as they grapple with their feelings around love, loyalty and the concern of allowing their feelings to cause problems within their working relationship. Not exactly the typical working relationship when it involves life or death situations every single day. Love and feelings of protection and loyalty can put others at risk when you have a mission that is meant to be more important than each other.
I was annoyed for awhile with Theresa‘s character not having the emotional intelligence that I thought she would have however I was reminded that she is still quite young and unfortunately instead of being out in the world and living a normal existence she was recruited early into a life filled with deceit and fear and this would create a person that perhaps hasn’t developed that part of themselves fully. I enjoyed watching her character development. No doubt she’s a bad ass who owns every room she’s in and steals the attention because she deserves it, not just because she’s beautiful but because she has a present that commands it. She oozes confidence in her work even if she is a little reckless. Watching York and will fall head over heels for this woman was really fun to watch. It was twisting them inside out trying to avoid the feelings and almost laughing at each other when they saw it in the other person as well.
Chapter 19 in particular had me in tears at the end with the way York spoke about Will and Theresa and the love he has for them both and the regret in not speaking the truth before he lost them. It broke my heart for him even though I’d viewed him a a bit of a jerk the whole time.
Again this book felt so much like I was watching a movie because the author effortlessly provides creative descriptions that allow me to feel in the moment! Loved every moment of this!
I couldn’t put this book down. From the first page, I felt like I had been dropped into a movie—one of those rare, gripping ones where the tension simmers and the emotion pulls you deeper with every scene.
The world McDonald builds is vivid and cinematic, but what truly hooked me was the slow, magnetic pull between York, William, and Theresa. The way their connection unfolds is so layered and emotionally charged—it's not rushed, not forced, but incredibly alive. Every look, every moment shared between them carried weight, like something just waiting to tip into more. And when it does? Wow.
The writing is smooth and sharp, full of energy and quiet intensity. Just when you think you know where it’s going, it shifts and takes your breath with it. McDonald doesn’t just tell a story—she crafts a feeling, a rhythm that you ride all the way through.
I felt every second of this book. The pain, the pull, the hope, the heartbreak. The characters are deeply human and beautifully flawed, and their bond is one of the best slow-builds I’ve read in a long time.
I’ll be thinking about this one for a while—and I’ll be first in line for whatever McDonald writes next.
ARC - and the plot thickens !! This is the second book to Ravens duet !!!!!! The first was a spicy, suspenseful mr/mrs smith vibe and this one unravels more into to story and connection between York, Theresa and William.
Team William ? Team York? Do they all survive and stay as a team ? What next?! Tripoli / Theresa deals with her new reality outside the Ravens and caring for more than just herself admits the chaos. A new world, a new game plan … that may or may not go as smooth as they hoped for. Tension, heat, more action, plot twists.
It’s a steamy action movie packed in-between a cover and a back. The way I felt this story. I laughed, I teared up and really got into the masterpiece McDonald crafted. Not your typical love boat and everything you needed to spice up your TBR list. This did not disappoint!!! You need this , go get it . Read both together. Share because you care. Then keep your eyes on this author because this is only the beginning readers…. You’re in for a ride !! 🔥✨💕🤌🏻
Ps. Team William for me. I want to know which characters drew you in and which team you’re on ?!
I read Ravens as and ARC, absolutely loved it. There are not a lot of books that I am not 95% sure where they are going and where they will end up. McDonalds mind is as smooth and sharp as a windswept mountain lake, so much going on to carry you along but you never know when the rouge wave is going to knock you out of rhythm.
When I got the email that Three over Aces had dropped for ARC, I was on the edge of civilization and drove to service and fought with technology to download it. But I could not wait. I proceeded to read it in every spare moment over the next 3 days. This book was so fun and easy to get lost in.
If you can I would recommend reading both books in one go, I think they would flow even better.
WOW, I love these characters and this story. These people are so strong and so clearly damaged all at the same time. The heat given off in these pages is enough to bake a cake with enough to spare for 12 dozen cookies...and a pie with incredibly flakey crust!
McDonald blew me away with development of Teresa, York, and William. She slowed down a lot and filled them out so well. There are hints of more and I will be waiting eagerly for anything else She writes!
Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!! I loved the first book and enjoyed even more the 2nd. It was hot, sassy, intriguing and kept me wanting more. I really like the author’s writing style. Highly recommend!!.

I was privileged to be an ARC reader for this and I’ve been impatiently waiting to share my thoughts. Steamy, evocative, and incredibly well written, “Three Over Aces” is one of the best romance novels I have ever read.
The plot outside of the romance is so enticing that honestly, I’d have read a thriller without the spice and been satisfied; however, the way that the romantic plot is presented is seamless and satisfying.
Overall, I can’t recommend enough!
Now go read it so we can discuss the main characters!!!
This book completely delivered — both on the spice and the action.
The intimate scenes were intense and really well done, especially that first scene where they share her. 🔥 But what stood out most to me was how the author included moments of overstimulation — something that’s so rarely acknowledged in steamy books, and it made everything feel much more grounded and real.
One of my favorite moments came toward the end, when York watches them and has to escape to the shower — it was a subtle but powerful way to show just how deeply affected and invested he is. That tension was built so well.
On the action side: top tier. I’m a big fan of darker, more intense storylines, and this one hit the mark. The two major action sequences — one with York solo, and the other with the full team — were cinematic and high-stakes, and I was fully on the edge of my seat.
Even though I still have some reservations about Will’s behavior in this book, I really appreciated the way the relationship dynamics evolved, especially from York’s point of view. His inner monologue about Theresa was obsessive in the most emotionally compelling way, and it felt raw and believable.
Overall, a powerful and unforgettable finale to a wild, emotional ride—this book stays with you long after you finish, perfectly capturing the highs and lows of a truly epic journey.

4.5 ⭐ “Three Over Aces” by R.M. McDonald Well…. That was a wild, delicious ride.
This was the perfect mic drop ending to the duet satisfying, emotional, and just the right amount of chaos to keep me flipping pages like my Kindle was on fire!!! The spice? Girl!!, we’re talking chef’s kiss levels. Just enough heat to make you fan yourself, but woven so well into the story that it never feels gratuitous.
The characters? I’m in love. With all of them. No, seriously each one felt layered, real, and maddeningly lovable. By the end, I was equally invested in their happiness and their questionable life choice's! And that emotional payoff! Totally worth the wait.
If you read book one, you need this conclusion. If you haven’t started the duet yet…what are you even doing?
I did not like it has much has the 1st book but it was a satisfying ending to the story. Personally I don’t like love triangles so I wasn’t really into the romance story line. There is a particular kink that I’m also not into that gives me the ick so that also turned me off but that’s a me thing. The second book definitely focused more on the development of the relationship between the three characters. I did enjoy the character growth with York, I think he is probably my favourite character. I just wasn’t has into the second book like the 1st one and was a little bored but it has nothing to do with the writing it was well done. Book is spicy 3🌶️🌶️🌶️
I really enjoyed the second book in this duet for the spice factor but also storyline that gets you thinking and keeps you engaged. The love triangle between York, Theresa and William coupled with danger elements made for a quick read. I was hooked on the characters and couldn't put this book down. My favourite part was that it was like neither York nor William seemed to have all the attributes that Theresa needed and the tension created by this dynamic was extra 🌶🌶🌶. Looking forward to the next series by this author.
I really enjoyed this action packed, undercover agent assassin duet. This book features more of the why choose aspect of the story than book one and has more action scenes as opposed to planning like in book 1. I feel it is well written, clear, and concise. The spice be spicin’. This duet gave me Bourne Supremacy vibes but if Bourne was a chick - she’s badass, and super clever. I really liked the FMC and the supporting MMcs were likeable as well despite their morally grayness.
I love this duet SO MUCH. The happily ever after was so satisfying, like I needed another reason to be jealous of Theresa. Perfect level of plotline and romantic suspense throughout the book.
R.M. can’t write fast enough to appease me now.
Sorry, girl, but you created one more monster than you meant to with these books.
I was so excited for this book! Completely devoured in less than 24 hours. Super steamy - be warned. I really like the writing style and find myself cracking up at the dialogue. If you like James Bond type action movies with spice - you will love this!.

This book was AMAZING just like book one. I couldn't put it down. Tripoli is feisty as ever and York and William compliment her perfectly. I look forward to reading more of R.M’s books in the future 😁.

This was a tough one to put down. I devoured it in one sitting! R.M. McDonald has done a fantastic job of creating a vibrant world that we get dropped in to. We got to know about Theresa, William, and York in the first book, but this book upped the ante on character development. This was the slowest of burns, but the tension amongst our three MCs was delicious. The suspense plot was top-notch and could have been a book all on its own, but I loved the blend of romance and adventure. I'm disappointed this particular story is over, but I am looking forward to reading more work by the author!
