Children of the Yellow Sun

Rate this book
On a world of eternal day and endless night, the forgotten children of Earth prepare for war - until one boy begins to see through all eyes.

Nythan was born in the dark, exiled with his people to the frozen edge of a distant world. In the shadows of his domain, myths and stories are passed like breath on glass. Stones remember names no voice speaks, and silence is anything but empty. Beneath their feet, something older than time stirs - a memory buried deep, forgotten by all.

Across the burning lands, another kind of mind awakens. Born of silk and crystal, the Hive does not hope, but it remembers. It remembers what humanity has done.

Children of the Yellow Sun is a haunting tale of first contact, memory, and the price of survival. As two civilizations stand on the brink of annihilation, one child holds the key to something neither side truly understands.

The war for the soul of a planet has only begun.

Small housekeeping:

I’ve posted a cleaned-up edition of Children of the Yellow Sun. If you grabbed the book earlier, be sure to have the latest copy. Open your Kindle/App → long-press the cover → Remove Download → go to All and download again. Kindle Unlimited works the same, or you can just return and borrow again.

For over three decades, I’ve devoured most of the published science fiction, occasionally venturing into fantasy for variety. In my youth, I tried my hand at writing but never pursued it seriously.

Children of the Yellow Sun is my first true attempt at crafting a long and complex storyline. I truly hope you found some wonder in these pages, and that you’ll return for the continuation of the story.

Children of the Yellow Sun throws you into a stunning alien world where silk towers hum with life, stone cities cling to survival, and two enemy civilizations share more than they dare to admit.
The human and Hive perspectives are equally rich, transforming monsters into people and enemies into something far more complicated.

At its heart, this is a story about survival—but also about perspective, about how fear and misunderstanding can shape civilizations for generations.
And when a long-dormant intelligence awakens, a shocking truth is revealed that turns their local struggle into part of a far greater mystery.

The book poses the timeless question—“Who is the real monster?”—and answers it with layered characters, lush settings, and a slow-burn tension that keeps you turning the pages.

Probably the best free book I have ever read on my Kindle. A praise worthy entry for a new author. Its hard to say much without spoiling the story tbh, if you like sify and are into layered and philosophical approach to the science fiction concepts, you will not be disappointed.

I recommend it to all readers who are looking for more than just a simple escape into space. This book is not just good science fiction – it is outstanding literature. Can't wait to read more literature from this author.
