One man's unhealthy obsession could destroy everything.
Londyn Siegler never imagined her attempt at a fresh start would include a stalker intent on watching her every move. Nor did she imagine her unidentified stalker would follow her back to the very place she was running from--and now the only place that can offer even a semblance of protection.
Now, as danger grows and the stalker remains at large, Londyn finds herself seeking refuge with Sheriff Brodie Brenneman, the man whose heart she broke. When the stalker's attacks increase in severity, Londyn and Brodie find themselves fighting for their lives...and their rekindled love. Can justice be served before it's too late?
An unexpected stalker. An unexpected second chance at love. An unexpected danger.

The plot is perfectly paced, and it was fun to catch up with characters from UW. The second chance romance will have you rooting for Londyn and Brodie, and the faith included in this story serves as an illustration of how God is with us even during our most frightening times.
I'm eagerly anticipating Book Three.
Readers who enjoy faith-filled suspense will not want to miss Unexpected Danger.
*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for promotional purposes. All opinions expressed are my own.
The tension brought to this story of a young woman in danger of a stalker bent on terrorizing her and who is unhinged, evil, elusive kept me on edge as it rapidly transitioned from one moment of fear and danger to the next. As Lyndon desperately fled her pursuer toward the familiar safety of her previous home and faithful friends, she found herself repeatedly esconced in the grasp of terror.
Surrounded by familiar friends, an adorably sweet boy-child, a "second-mother," and her beloved, yet distanced, former boyfriend she finds respite and protection. Hopeful yet doubtful of a second chance with Brodie, she finds comfort in his protection.
An exciting, squeaky clean, faith based story that entertains as justice prevails. I highly recommend.
I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, alone and are freely given.
Wow! This is a book filled with intrigue, drama, kidnapping, and more. It's also filled with a ton of twists and turns that kept me in suspense the whole time that I was reading it.
Londyn is a multifaceted character. She's super sweet and trusting but when she needs to kick butt, she does it! Brodie is 😍! He's a protector, dedicated to his job and his family. My favorite character is Xander! He loves his dog, Yukon. He also loves bugs and learning.
I love that Penny Zeller always has components of faith in her books. Brodie often prays to God and finds comfort in the scriptures. I look forward to reading her next book!
Wow! Talk about suspense! This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. And I may have been a little creeped out haha. Londyn is being stalked by a man who fancies himself in love with her. But when she turns him down it gets very dangerous for her. Attempted murder, assault, kidnapping and more. Whew! Thank goodness for Sheriff Brodie being the hero. Londyn broke his heart when she rejected his proposal. But now that she is back in town and in danger Brodie is protecting her. This story is very fast paced with one thing after another happening. I really enjoyed it, even though it scared me a little. The bad guy is so creepy. I really liked Londyn and Brodie and was so glad they got a second chance. Good Christian content as always. I definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
In a new town, Londyn, discovers she is being stalked by someone who is obsessed with her. When it escalates, she realizes who it is and decides to move back to Pronghorn Falls to escape. The story begins with a whirlwind of suspense and continues throughout the narrative. There is one twist after another I didn't see coming. Danger comes from lots of places-those you would not expect!
The story kept me glued to the pages as each situation heated up and kept me on the edge of my seat. The stalker was relentless, challenging those who hoped to bring him to justice. I also appreciated the Christian elements that resonated with the main character's moral values. The second-chance romance also blended perfectly. The ending was fantastic. Highly recommended.
I received an ARC from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.
This story is filled with heart-stopping moments and well-developed characters! Penny Zeller does an excellent job of keeping the reader engaged and maintaining a fast-paced narrative filled with action throughout most of the book. Although the plot revolves around a crazed stalker, there is no graphic violence; instead, the characters share scriptures during challenging situations and demonstrate their trust in God. It's a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat without resorting to gruesome details. Entertaining in every way, this book is well worth the late-night hours spent reading!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat as I read about Londyn and the person terrorizing her. The author did a great job at keeping the reader guessing as to who was involved in the criminal activity. I loved that despite the awful things happening to her that Londyn continued to seek out Scripture and guidance from God.
The addition of Brodie and his whole family was so sweet. The relationship between Aileen and Londyn was one that I really enjoyed.
Thanks so much to the publisher and the author for the arc. The opinions are my own.
In Unexpected Danger, Penny Zeller has once again written a story full of action, suspense, romance, and faith!! The story is a well written, dual point of view, with characters rich in detail that come alive as you read the story. This book is a page turner with plenty of twists that you won’t see coming! And the villain is very easy to dislike! I love that the characters’ faith is lived out in their lives and not just “they went to church and prayed”. And yet it isn’t “in your face” or preachy. The main characters show growth in their faith as well as in general and the side characters are just as well written and fun to get know! I read an advanced copy of the book but I also preordered it so I could have a copy to lend to my friends, I know they’ll love it also! All thoughts and opinions in this review are honest and true.
Unexpected Danger is a Christian Fiction suspense novel that follows the adventures of a young woman named Londyn. She has recently moved to a new town and started a new job however, she has the vibes spoiled by a stalker. She ends up enlisting the help of Brodie a man whose heart she broke some time ago. Will these two be able to stop the stalker before it is too late and is there hope at rekindling their relationship. Overall this is a high packed action story that will surely have you on the edge of your seat!
A very good story. And great characters in Londyn and Brodie.. Perfect story for those who love Christian suspense stories. I received a copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
Unexpected Danger is filled with suspense, danger, and twists and turns. After discovering she has a stalker, Londyn flees, heading back to Pronghorn Falls, but her stalker follows. Londyn's stalker is relentless, evil, and great at manipulating and deceiving people. Upon returning home, Londyn also has to face her ex Brodie, whose heart she broke 10 years ago. I enjoyed this second chance Christian romantic suspense read and the Brenneman family. Looking forward to book 3.
GREAT suspense read! This is book two in this series, and the third suspense book Penny has published, with more on the way! I love the fact that she has branched out from Historical Romance and has contemporary romance and suspense books, as well. I love her writing in all three genres.
I enjoyed getting to go back to Pronghorn Falls and finding out what the Brenneman family has been up to. I'm looking forward to book 3! Just how much trouble can one little mountain town get into? I guess we will find out!
This book had me on the edge on my seat very quickly and I would have finished in in less time, BUT I'm a teacher and couldn't read 24/7!
Brodie is the perfect "cowboy" law enforcement officer and a guy who loves his family and his girl, even when she walks away. He cares so much about the people in his town, too. He was raised with high values by his parents. His father died but his mom is still the matriarch of the family and leading her boys in the right direction.
Londyn is such a great character. Her back story is complex, yet she has a "rescue story". She grew up in a terrible family with a father who never cared to be in her life and a mother who only had time for herself and was busy changing husbands like clothes each season. Yet, she found stability, faith and love with the Brenneman family. She grew up hanging out with them and became more a part of their family than her own. Londyn learned what a family could be and what it meant to love someone and be there for them.
Her relationship with her mother distorted how Londyn saw her future and when Brodie proposed to her, she ran away. She regretted hurting Brodie and the rest of the family as soon as she left. Moving away from her mountain town and the family she had grown to love did give her a chance to see the difference between a big city and small mountain town. Little did she know just how much trouble it was going to lead to.
I loved how strong Londyn is in many ways, but that didn't stop her from asking for help when she needed it. When she was a youth, Brodie's dad taught her how to defend herself and how to think things through in scary situations. She also didn't hesitate to ask God for help in those situations. That didn't mean she bested the villains in the story alone or never got hurt. Quite the contrary. It was NOT an easy task to find and stop the person who was stalking her.
There were so many twists and turns in the story. That is why I struggled to put the book down even though I had to. Most nights I would fall asleep while I was trying to read just one more page. I wasn't sure how many times he was going to slip past getting caught and who all he was going to drag into his lies.
Was suspense supposed to be on my radar ever again. No. Then why did I read another 😅... Well, let's just say Penny Zeller's books are too good to pass up. And... I had to continue the story after Rourke and Mila.
The opening scene was brilliantly set up. Lightning, blinds... everything. Creepiest, and great way to get one to distrust any person who's outside their window at 6 p.m.... 😅. Never underestimate a stalker. I really hoped it wasn't him at first, but man 🫣. My pusle picked up so many times. Birdcage and dart for the win, though 🏆 🙌🏻.
Also, don't read this book on an empty stomach. My mouth is watering for hamburgers, onion rings, and perhaps a Deep-Dish Stuffed Crust Cheese Pizza 🍕🤤. That was the only disappointment in this book. How could she drop it 😱, jk, lol.
The faith themes ran so deep ❣️. Praying to God over every decision is such a vital truth. He wants to guide and give us wisdom, but we have to ask.
And I was so happy for Londyn (I just adore her name) and Brodie to get a second chance. My favorite scene was definitely their dance at the adoption fundraiser. It's literally too cute. And yay, Xander is back. That kid is hilarious 🫶🏻.
I definitely like this one more that Unexpected Witness. Since Brodie already had an established relationship, romance wasn't really the center focus, which was nice. Though, I wouldn't have minded if one of the last chapters hadn't included how muscular he was. Londyn already knows what he looks like 😅
CW: Death, Murder Attempts, Violence (not gory), Stalker, Hoarder, how touches feel, noticing how muscular someone was, forced kisses (not really described)
My Rating/ Age Recommendation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5 Stars)/ 20+-Married (due to the nature of suspense)
Definitely need the conclusion to this suspense trilogy ASAP. But I suppose I'll have to wait, 🥹 *deep sigh*

Unexpected Danger by Penny Zeller is a great romantic suspense story, the second in the Mountain Justice series. In this story we return to Pronghorn Falls, the setting from book one. We get to see beloved characters from the first book, Unexpected Witness and meet new characters. This book focuses on Brodie Brenneman who is the sheriff of Pronghorn Falls and his ex, Londyn Siegler who left town after breaking his heart in the past.
Londyn has been living in a city where she has made some new friends, has a new job, and, as the book opens, we learn she has a stalker. It didn't take me long to figure out exactly who the real stalker was, I think the author meant for it to be a bit obvious to the reader. But once Londyn realizes who her stalker is, the suspense really gears up. Personally I loved that there was even more suspense than the first book. Brodie, who is trying his hardest to protect the woman he still loves, and Londyn and the reader have no clue when or where the stalker is going to strike next. The anticipation keeps building. More than once Londyn's life is in danger. Not only her life, but those around her. The author sure did make a villain who is dispicable. He's crafty, and manipulative, and always a step ahead.
And of course, this is a romantic suspense, so I was rooting for Brodie and Londyn to be able to work out their relationship. I thought they made a cute couple.
As with all the author's books, faith is an important part of the story. The main characters are both Christians and they pray and seek the Lord's will throughout the book. We also see how Londyn realizes she never sought God's will before making the big move taking her away from Pronghorn Falls.
If you are looking for a faith-filled book that will keep you on the edge of your seat you will want to read this book.
I received an e-copy of this book as a member of the launch team and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own honest thoughts.
Really enjoyed Brodie and Londyn's story!! Brodie has loved Londyn for years. He thought she loved him, too, until the night he proposed. Londyn turned him down and then left town without seeing Brodie. Now, she returns to Pronghorn Falls with a stalker following her. Londyn realizes she never asked God if her leaving Pronghorn Falls was His will for her, and she also realizes how much she loves Brodie, and that instead of running from him, she should have married him. Now, she really wants a second chance with Brodie, if she can live long enough to tell him, and if Brodie can find her stalker in time. Love how Brodie depends on God, and love how Londyn comes to realize she's let fear make some of her decisions for her, and that she realizes she needs to depend on God, and not listen to her fears, and that God will turn her fears into triumphs. The only problem was that I knew who the stalker was long before the characters figured it out. I'd have preferred that it would have taken me longer, though the book is still really good!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
A sheriff saves his one and only love from an evil man
Loved being back in Pronghorn Falls with the Brenneman's . Brodie and Londyn story was exciting from start to finish . Londyn had moved away from all she had ever known . She was enjoying what she was doing. But that changed when the stalker started harassing her. Then she wished she was back in Pronghorn Falls. When she decided to go back she finds out who her attacker was. Because he harassed her all the way home. It almost killed her too But Brodie and his family came to her rescue. But the guy tried every which way to get her. But Brodie persistence in protecting Londyn finally worked. Xander made the stories fun parts . In the Brodie and Londyn got the wedding that should of happened way before. Looking forward to Grayson and Oak lee story. I'm sure Grayson alot like his brothers Will read more by this author.

Can I just say I am so glad this author not only writes historical romance but mystery/suspense as well! Whatever she writes, you can tell she pours her heart into it! I enjoyed this book so very much and highly recommend it! A stalker is on the loose and seems one step ahead of Londyn and the police. When the stalking starts in the new city she was living in, Londyn decides to move back home. Somehow the stalker follows her there too….
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The review is my honest opinion of it.
A sociopath on the loose. The threat of imminent death. Betrayal, kidnapping, constantly looking over your shoulder wondering what evil lurked around every corner? Would Londyn’s ex be able to protect her? And if per chance she made it out alive, could God work a second miracle and give them a second chance? This story will keep your heart pumping overtime, your emotions in overdrive….truly a work of art and deserving of 5+ ⭐️s!
If you enjoy stalker suspense that's not over the top graphic, then Unexpected Danger by author, Penny Zeller, is right up your alley. I was so disappointed when the author exposed the identity of the stalker 30% through the book until I realized that not only had I already guessed who it was—but the author needed to reveal the psychopath in order to write a very unique type of suspense story. An intense, riveting, romantic, unputdownable read!
Unexpected Danger, the second book in the exciting Mountain Justice series, is a riveting, entertaining Christian Romantic Suspense read. This story took me on an emotional roller coaster ride as a romantic obsession escalates from stalking and intimidation to far worse! The compellingly paced plot is packed with action and danger as a mentally unstable, relentless, elusive villain presents a formidable challenge to those who seek to apprehend him. The characters are expertly crafted and memorable--even the ones who are objectionable. It was wonderful to revisit Pronghorn Falls, reconnect with the Brenneman family (who I fell in love with in the first book of the series) and be introduced to Londyn. Vibes of a second chance romance for Londyn and Brodie resonate throughout the story. They so belonged together, and I kept rooting for them to figure it out too! I appreciate how they show their commitment to God and seek His wisdom and guidance through scripture and prayer. I totally enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in the series! I read an early copy of this book from the author with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Penny has done it again! I didn’t want to put this book down. Londyn Siegler just wanted a fresh start in the big city, but someone is watching her… stalking her. The suspense kept me turning pages late into the night, and I couldn’t stop wondering—will she ever truly be safe? I received this book as part of a ARC group but my review is my own opinion.
Zeller masterfully sets her character in what most would assume is an ideal, safe location, to start her life anew. A small town, where she quickly gets a new job, with doting, new friends, only to have everything quickly change to tension, suspicion, and danger. I recommend this; it was an exciting read.
This book will keep you the edge of your seat. It's a second chance romance that's full of action, suspense, drama, and danger. It's a great read! I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was a very good book with and so refreshing to read an interesting book that keeps you interested and also be a Christian book with no profanity and inappropriate scenes and also glorifying the Lord.
Another great book by Penny Zeller. This is the second in the Mountain Justice series and it did take a little to remember all the characters from the previous book but not that long. This time we feature Brodie Brenneman who is the sheriff and Londyn Siegler who moved to get over breaking Brodie's heart.
Londyn moved to a bigger city, has a new job and new friends but we see right from the start something is wrong. She starts to get disturbing texts and phone calls and is seeing things she knows are not right. It seems she has a stalker who the police are trying to find. Even when she decides to leave her home it seems she is still in danger.
Brodie still loves Londyn and seeing her in danger he has to help her. Who is the stalker, why is her doing what he's doing. What does he want. These are all questions Londyn has. This is very much a case of cat and mouse with Londyn having no idea when he will strike again.
This book is full of suspense with the not knowing when the stalker will strike and how. How does he always seem to be able to find her. There are down times which are important to the story but even in these times there is always a sense something may happen. I will say I was happy with the outcome after even more suspenseful moments.
I have to say a young boy around 6ish stole the scenes he was in. Xander is Brodies nephew and like all young children says some interesting things. I laughed at many of his comments. It is good to have some lighthearted humour in a suspenseful novel.
If you enjoy romantic suspense with a twist on the normal story, I am sure you will enjoy this book. I read it in two nights, and it would have been faster if I hadn't been so tired. When I took it up last night I didn't want to stop and finally read the last 3 chapters this morning when I got up.
