Three years ago I was working in a New York City strip club, struggling to make a living. When Donovan Mitchell, the heir to one of the largest real estate empires in the country, offered me a chance to leave it behind, I couldn’t resist him or his offer. I agreed to do whatever—or whoever—Master Donovan wanted me to do whenever he commanded it be done. At the end of the four years, I could have the job of my dreams.

Own a restaurant? How many Michelin stars did I want?

Be a fashion designer? What show did I want to present in?

A Hollywood actress? Television or movies?

Record an album? Would I like that with a Grammy?

He has the contacts to make anything happen.

I became a plaything for the Master and all his friends, the richest, most powerful men in New York and beyond. I’ve been fucked, whipped, flogged, caned, tied up, and played with in more ways than most people can imagine. All with a plastic smile and a honeyed “thank you, sir” on my lips.

There are only three ways out of my contract. One, leave with nothing. Two, serve the four years. Three, defeat Master Donovan at a single game of chess and have anything my heart desires.

It took me two years to figure out what I wanted. It’s taken me another eighteen months to prepare. Now I’m ready to claim my prize, and I’m willing to put everything on the line for it.

Tonight, I’m going to beat Master Donovan at his own game.

Tonight, I’m going to make him mine .

About the author

Chris Mor

5 books52 followers
Chris enjoys good food, steamy books, and long walks in the forest with his wife. Or the beach. Or parks. Okay, he enjoys long walks just about everywhere, and has since he was a kid. The world around us is simply incredible, and there’s so much to see beyond what you can see outside the car window.

He also loves telling stories. When his two cats aren’t trying to add to his manuscript, that is. A lifetime player of tabletop and role-playing games, he’s always been the one to step forward to run the game, weaving a story for his friends to enjoy. Writing has been something he’s always considered. It just took finding the right story to get him started.

Like a good trail, he doesn’t know where this journey will take him, but he’s going to enjoy the trip.
