Thea Fera is starting over…again. For the third time in the last year. New town. New job. She hopes to fade into the background wherever she goes so he can’t find her. Her stalker. The man who killed her alpha, Connor.
Running is all she’s known for the last year—and for good reason. However, after moving to a small picturesque mountain town, she meets six alphas and a beta whose scents trigger emotions in her she’d rather stay buried. When her suppressants fail earlier than expected, she’s faced with the choice to spend her first heat with strangers. But the idea of being with anyone other than her late alpha is unfathomable.
It turns out being on suppressants for ten years straight, illegally, is not so healthy for an omega. With mini heats popping up and some dangerous complications from the waning suppressants, she has no option but to rely on these men who say they’re her scent match.
Thea can’t afford to let her heart get involved. Not that she has one left after it’s been shredded into pieces. But the more time she spends with them, the more her shattered heart is pieced back together by the very men she’s sworn off. And maybe…she can do the same for them.
Rugged Part One is the first in a duet MFMMMMMM why choose omegaverse romance. It’s first person, multi POV, with a plus-size FMC. The book ends on a mild cliffhanger that will be resolved in Rugged Part Two. Please check the content warnings at the beginning of the book.
2.5 stars rounded up to 3. This book could benefit from further editing. The lack of punctuation and the long, run-on sentences make it somewhat difficult to read. It's also a bit boring because we only see the stalker part come into the picture at the very end.
For this to be her first debut novel, it is truly amazing. I was immediately hooked from the beginning and it held my attention the entire time. I love everything about book 1. I am a huge sucker for large harems with the added bonus of being able to easily differentiate the MCs. I love Thea and her men so much. She is very strong for going through what she has. I even teared up a few times. The author did a wonderful job giving us flashbacks to explain her past. While it’s still in the early in their relationship, nothing felt rushed. I can’t wait to read book 2
I really enjoyed this novel; I think the story is interesting and the characters are pretty well developed. The grammar and editing thereof could use some work, however. The author doesn’t seem to have a good grasp of when it is appropriate to use the word “which” and often the sentence structure seems backwards. I do look forward to continuing the series; I believe this is a debut novel (well done!) and I’m sure the writing will improve over time.
Wow. What a great read! These characters jump off of the page and suck you into the story in moments. My heart breaks for Thea's past, but her guys are making for a hopeful future. The cliffhanger is a killer! I will be sitting at the edge of my seat, impatiently waiting for part 2! Congrats to the author on her debut!
Part one was such a great read, I’m not a fan of slow burns but this one? This one was perfect, I couldn’t imagine finding love again after losing the love of your life. I’m loving the character growth of the entire cast. I can’t wait for part two! Overall this was a wonderful read, I’ve cried so much and I’m pleasantly happy with how many times I’ve laughed and smiled!
I love a good OV, and this one is that. The characters are fantastic, the plot is multi faceted and never does it drag in just to fill pages. I am thoroughly enjoying it as a whole. For a debut, the author knocked it out of the park.
DNF – I tried several times to finish this book, but I just couldn’t get into it. The writing style and story didn’t connect with me or hold my interest.
