I received this as a gift and was excited to read and learn more about the life of St. Mary Magdalene, and I was incredibly disappointed. It is blatantly obvious that this “book” is AI generated, and with little historical basis to go off of it spends a lot of time over exaggerating things like her potential upbringing in a small coastal town. It is also incredibly poorly edited, numerous sections repeat themselves like they were accidentally copied and then pasted twice, with one section appearing 3 or 4 separate times. Whoever generated and published this did not even bother to proofread it once before publication. The “book” would make mention of witnesses to her miracles and then would not list who or what those miracles were. The “book” runs out of ideas after a while and just starts repeating itself over and over with slightly different phrasing. I was looking forward to praying the novenas, but seeing they were also AI generated disappoints me. As a Catholic, especially with the recent encyclical Pope Leo just published regarding AI, I am saddened to see it used in the generating of a book about someone so important to the life of Christ. Prayer is supposed to be a divine connection between you and God, we should not be delegating something so sacred to a generative algorithm. I will now be searching for an actual human written book on St Mary Magdalene.
