Another in the Polk Island series, in which photojournalist Patrick Brown is home after years of globe-trotting and making a name for himself. When he arrives home, he's in for a surprise when he learns that his former girlfriend is now a mother and her 4-year-old daughter is HIS! Patrick is determined to be the kind of father (involved and present) that his own father never was.
But will London allow him to develop a relationship with his daughter? After all, she's been everything to that child since she learned she was pregnant.
As the two adults gradually begin to get to know each other all over again, Patrick's mother attempts to interfere, just as she had previously so many years earlier. What are they going to do about that?
