Some guys never leave their hometown. Professional baseball player Trace Calland couldn’t wait to escape Dunbar, Washington—only now he’s back, with a damaged shoulder and his ballplaying career on the line. Trace is hoping his new physical therapist, Avery Unger, might be just what he needs. No coddling. No fangirling. Just professional care. Which is proving to be a problem now that something is sparking between them, because Trace needs to focus on healing and getting back to his team. And while Trace’s old dream may be in danger of being over, something—or rather someone, namely the talented, beautiful Avery—might take its place.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Harlequin - Romance via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 3.5 stars. “The Rancher’s Vow”, by Alexis Morgan, is a sweet romance between two very likeable and relatable characters, in a small town setting populated by compelling secondary characters and also some cute animals. I liked Trace and Avery and how naturally their attraction and chemistry flows while try to fight it with very little conviction. I loved the honesty between them and the fact they, particularly Avery, address the therapist/client relationship issues. They’re always failing and trying to find excuses on this matter and that’s interesting too. Trace loves his career and aches with the convalescence outcome but just staying at the ranch, and in Dunbar, reminds him how much he also loves this life. The love and affection in Trace’s family and the bonds between the two brothers are wonderful. The ranching life and the animals are also interesting. I would think dancing and riding wouldn´t be good for the recovery process.
I received an ARC of The Rancher's Vow thanks to the publisher through NetGalley and leave this review voluntarily.
This is a sweet, albeit predictable, romance. I really enjoyed the main characters, which is definitely a selling feature of the book. There are also cute rescue dogs! The main male character is incredibly loveable and it had me rooting for them to be successful from the start.
