Dominic and Celina . . .

Celina was offered to Alpha Dominic Voss in an arranged marriage. Dominic accepted her only as a means of leverage, expecting her silence and obedience. She was nothing more than a business deal. No one took notice of her, yet when he saw her for the first time, he felt something. All the other females in the ballroom sought his attention, but she fully ignored him, causing his wolf to show interest. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. But this isn't about mating -- this is about control. Celina disliked the silk gown she was forced to wear, and the diamond necklace is a cold weight, more like a collar than something lovely. I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Alpha Dominic Voss walked into an arranged marriage and walked out with a fated mate. He only agreed to the marriage to secure a partnership with the Renault Pack. When Dominic first saw Celia, his wolf made his claim. This was not how this was supposed to work. Celia Renault was the first born of Alpha Corvin Renault. She thought she was coming to this ball to finally get away from her family. A family that never accepted her. Instead of her freedom, Celia was married off and immediately sent to Silverpine with Domonic. Celia was always the outcast of the family. Because she had never shifted, Celia was used for leverage. That was the only way she could help her family.

Celia and Dominic tried to keep things the way they agreed but the mate bond was too strong. The closer they got to her the more Celia's wolf came out. Maybe Celia just needed to be around her mate. Of course, that is not all. Celia and Dominic discover a plot to kill him and take over his pack. They are in a race against time. Who is after Dominic? Suspense is the air. Will Dominic find out who is after him before it is too late? Action and love are entwined. Celia seems to get stronger the longer that she is around Dominic. Maybe her strength will help them figure out what is going on.

This is a fascinating story of cruel family dynamics, forced marriage, power plays, and shifter relationships. Celina Corvin was bartered and forced into an arranged marriage by her alpha father with Dominic Voss, the alpha of his own pack, who had no interest in getting married. Celina was mocked and dismissed by her father and siblings because she couldn’t shift, unlike her family. She was considered defective by them.

Celina was basically ignored by Dominic after their farce of a marriage. He and her father were busy trying to join forces for the betterment of their packs, or so Dominic thought. There is intrigue, lying, cheating, and attempted murder, as well as a mole. When Dominic’s life is threatened, Celina’s true nature comes forward.

There was so much that happened in ‘Fate Took Me Captive’ that it was difficult to put down the book! Ruby Brinks has a wonderful ability to make her characters come alive and get her readers quickly hooked on her books. This was an enjoyable read. Celina was a woman constantly ridiculed by her family and ignored by others. She held a quiet strength that was released when she was "sold" to Dominic Voss. The one man whom she should hate for his part in using her as a pawn for his ambitions.
Dominic is a man who is only half living. He doesn't fully realize it until he brings Celina into his home, into his life. She brings a light into his shadowed life.
This is a slow burn, character evolving story. It was nice watching as Celina slowly finds her way in this new life and watch Dominic see her like noone else ever has. She is strong, determined and stubborn. When betrayal rears its head, they work together to save their empire and the pack.
If you like a magical shifter story with evolving characters and found family, this is your read.

Can Dominic and Celina find happiness?

We start with a woman who was always treated like a mistake. Never wanted, never loved, simply used. Now she’s being forced into a marriage by her father to a rival Alpha she’s never met before. Then we have a bitter man, an Alpha, who’s always ruled by control and never even thought of opening his heart to a woman. Their marriage is a simple signing of a contract—no muss, no fuss. Then Celina goes home with Dominic to spend her wedding night alone in the guest house. This story is a torturous ride as these two find each other. We have a bit of everything, from betrayal and family, to hope and love. I was pulled into the story by the wonderful writing and kept engaged until the very last word, which was sad to read. Of course, there’s the heartfelt sigh at the end too.

Darkness and Light

A great action packed wolf shifter arranged marriage romance. I couldn’t put this one down. There is action, family drama, an arranged marriage, betrayal, steamy romance and HEA.

Celina has spent her life not being fully in control so she's not surprised when she's "sold" to Alpha Dominic as part of a pack trade. Dominic has spent his life doing everything for his pack and never truly living, which he only realises when he brings his new wife into the pack and she starts bringing light into his life, while growing in character herself and helping his pack to grow in strength. He had a plan but hadn't realised he needed her.

There is wonderful character development in this slow build romance and I would recommend if you love fated mates and shifter romances.

This story was so good. The way the female had such strength even after years of abuse- both physical and mental from her family. She would not let feelings get in her way of what she wanted. Yet, she had the calmness to listen to her inner wolf and not make decisions that where out of spite or anger. He was all Alpha - dealing with his own inner self due to how his father raised him. As the story progressed they both grew and had i site into the other. The flow was so good. You could see them and smell the baked goods. You felt her heart break and the anger rise up. The other characters were such good additional characters they supported and pushed as needed too. I so enjoyed this love story and their journey to get to their hea.

Darkness into the Light of Love

What an amazing read! This book took me on a journey through pain, tension, sacrifice, betrayal and finally trust and love.

Filled with danger, twists and turns and a secret no-one could have predicted, you won’t be able to take your eyes away from this entertaining page-turning storyline!

Dominic came across as cold and emotionless and had rules for Celina, rules his Wolf didn’t agree with.

He was fighting himself and emotions he never knew existed which soon changed into the greatest love of his life, a devoted love that would surpass all evil, betrayal and give them both the HEA fate had engineered.

A highly recommended read.

Celine is the pawn that is moved strategically across the board, from one Alpha to the next. This story is full of internal battles as well as pack alliances. The twists that follow her around are insane. Alpha Dominic Voss has a plan, with his unyielding power he usually gets his way. Alpha Corvin is playing the long game. He rules his pack with a clenched iron fist. But while these two Alphas are playing pack politics the pawn has reached the other side of the board... This book is magnificent! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!.

Review of Ruby Brinks's Fate Took Me Captive This book is a captivating blend of family power struggles and paranormal romance. Despite Celina desire for freedom from an arranged marriage, her relationship with Dominic, the Alpha Wolf, is full of tension, sacrifice, and has a slow-burn romance. I liked the way the author showed Celina transformation from a pawn in her father's schemes to a strong woman. It was also pleasing to see Dominic change from aloof to protective. The middle felt a bit slow, but the emotional ending made it worth it. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

When you have been a pawn to your father your entire life, you conspire to have your own life. Celina has been nothing but the dutiful daughter who cannot transform into a wolf. She is a pawn for her father to broker with to make himself more powerful. All she wants is to open a bakery. But her father had other plans for his oldest daughter. Very good read. Ruby Brinks brings out the best in her make believe world.

Excellent Book!

This book was amazing! Great story arc, well written and defined characters and solid editing. Both main characters, Celina and Dominic, were well crafted and the chemistry between the two was like watching the best of symphonies. I had not read any of this author’s works before now but I’m definitely going to be checking out her other stories. She is a master storyteller and literary craftswoman. I sincerely wish that more authors would take their craft as seriously as Ruby Brinks seems to do. Highly, highly recommend this book!

This was a story that kept me hooked from the first page. Drama, action, suspense and twists and turns throughout have made this a book you won't be able to put down. The characters of Celina and Dominic are believable and have depth. I loved seeing how their relationship and characters changed with everything going on around them and how they dealt with the power play and betrayal from within. This is a story that I highly recommend reading from a talented author.

Loved this book. It was very well written with the right amount of emotion, action and characters, along with plot. Definitely recommend
