Syxe St. James was once the perfect wife—prim, polished, and quietly miserable. When her marriage to a powerful doctor crumbles overnight, she’s left broke, stranded, and desperate. The only person willing to help? Montana “Monty Geez” Ortiz—Philly’s hottest rapper… and the boy who used to sleep at the foot of her bed when home wasn’t safe.
Montana didn’t expect to see Syxe again, let alone with bags under her eyes and nowhere to go. But when she steps in to care for his kids like they’re her own, he realizes he never really got over her.
Now she’s living in his house. Watching his children. Sleeping down the hall. And no matter how many times he tells himself to keep it professional, one truth
She was always his. Even when she belonged to someone else.
All Mine is a steamy, emotional urban nanny romance full of second chances, forbidden feelings, and the kind of love that makes you break every rule.
Oh this was a great one, honestly this author is very talented I loveeee when the girls make us apart of the book like baby this felt like I was standing in the corner of some of these scenes. There was a few minor issues where info was repeated but from the other parties eyes but with no new elements to make it feel special. Where this author really shined is in the way she made us readers really look at the ins and out of abuse and not in the graphic jarring ways a lot of others do. We got the other side the after math of abuse and how to come out on the other side. This was heartbreaking and gut wrenching at times but the love throughout made this phenomenal to me. I will say I didn’t like Calvin and I felt like Monty was being real mean and spiteful. Like I get that he was hurt but I feel like everyone was dunking on Syxe, when it’s like do y’all really think this is the time to make it about your feelings of abandonment or should y’all give her more support and compassion. Like Calvin I get you felt neglected and abandoned twice but not once did you acknowledge all that Syxe lost and sacrificed FOR YOU AND YOUR WELL BEING. Like she was thrust into motherhood with no guidance no positive feminine influence yet no one could empathize see how she ended up with an abuser? Like please I love Jackie Brown real bad and I hope we get her and Cash’s story next. The extra tidbits ALLL THE WAY AT THE END lol got me so excited for the next story. It’s so many potential moving parts that I can’t wait to see what she does with it I hope by fall the author means September 21st lmaooo Update: cus I didn’t mention it yesterday but there is a lot of back and forth between the FMC & MMC and while it does get a tiny bit annoying I think it’s refreshing and authentic to see the struggles post abuse, post abandonment like I definitely had to catch myself cus I’m like wait a minute, it’s not always rainbows and sunshine immediately. I think that’s what really made this author stand out because a lot of times as a reader we get some horrid graphic scenes and then the next chapter the FMC is deeply in love and they ride off into the sunset. We get a HEA for sure but it’s one they worked for.
I can tell you that when I start thinking of a review midway through- it’s a five star for me!
Sometimes it remains that way and sometimes it falls off.
In this case, the story just got better and better.
————— Storyline/plot: brother’s friend, older FMC, nanny romance- Definitely executed differently than I expected BUT I loved it! Chemistry: AMAZING! The tension/relief balance was executed so well! There’s some: history, hunching, heaviness, and happiness sprinkled throughout with this couple🙃🥹 Spice: spicy scenes were plenty and had the spice on them🥵🥵🥵 Pacing: perfect for this story. Drama: a lot but well placed throughout the story.

Now, let’s code switch the review tone:
Putting on my glasses for a more professional approach 🤓🤓🤓 ⬇️
This book had me highlighting and saving quotes throughout the entire 300+ pages!
The story is long but it was so well written that I didn’t “feel” it.
———
“pen game 🔏✅” moment:
- The tension between the MMC and FMC.
In my opinion, this is not always easy to execute. Without the proper balance, the reader could lose interest for various reasons (too long, not enough action, resentment of characters, etc).
However, this balance was so well done by the author throughout this story. Strategically choreographed to keep us wanting the “next moment” with our couple.
“pen game 🔏✅” moment:
- The complexity of the storyline.
There were so many components involved in this story. It never felt overwhelming, out of place, or unnecessary.
I did have one part of the story I felt dragged a little. After reading the sneak peak, it made perfect sense why that person was still around.
————
I loved this book and would definitely recommend this read.
The epilogue was flawless.
That SNEAK PEAK was AMAZING….I have a page full of notes just on that alone!!!
I promise I will patiently wait because THAT story sounds better than this one- that is saying a whole lot!
“All Mine” was cool, and I liked the story. It’s a second chance, brother’s best friend, age gap love story told in third-person (sometimes) with alternating views between the leads and two secondary characters. (The secondary characters will be the main focus in the next book.)
I initially felt kinda weird about Syxe being a constant in Monty’s life since he was nine and then hooking up with him when he was 23. I liked that it was acknowledged in the book. Syxe was beating herself up about it, but Monty assured her that he was a consenting adult then and wanted something with her then and now. It still felt slightly weird but not as much once they talked about it.
Which, Montana and Syxe are so hot and cold with each other. So much so that I thought the sexual things and vibes happening between Montana and Syxe were supposed to be dream or something. They’d play with each other and whisper sweet nothings but then they’re at odds on the next page or his age was an issue for Syxe or Monty was talking real reckless to Syxe. It was just too much back and forth. They eventually got it together though.
As far as their relationships with the other characters, I liked reading about Syxe and Jackie’s friendship. I do wish we could’ve read more about Syxe and Calvin rebuilding their relationship, but I understand that wasn’t the focus of this book. And Maddison is a trash ass 🥷🏾.
If you decide to read “All Mine”, here’s a heads up about a few things: * With the way the dialogue is formatted, I kept getting confused on who was speaking. Keep in mind that even though a new line of dialogue has started, it’s probably still the same person speaking * The story starts to flip flop between first- and third-person around the 53% mark. It sometimes happens within a sentence and it’s pretty jarring * Usually when there’s a graphic in the middle of a page, it’s used to show a passage of time. That’s not always the case with this book, so try to ignore them.
I wanted to love this because I’m a sucker for a nanny romance & I heard good things. I’ll say that I soft DNF’d about a month ago & I should have just kept it as a DNF. I love the redemption/self-discovery after an abusive situation story line. That will forever get praise in my book. And I think at times the author does a great job of conveying emotion and the writing has a rhythmic almost poetic cadence at times.
However, the story fell flat for me for numerous reasons. There were about 3 or 4 sub plots that I felt were left unfinished. And parts of the story felt extremely rushed.
Also there was so much back and forth, including a completely unnecessary (to me) 3rd act breakup, that I really didn’t want them to get an HEA. Syxe needed some time on somebody’s couch and idk what Montana needed. I was irritated with them after a while.
Additionally, formatting wise, I wish there was separation between the dialogue. Sometimes you couldn’t tell who was speaking because the dialogue was embedded into an ongoing paragraph. Plus lots of repetition and random page breaks. Also about 55% in the author must have forgotten she was writing in 3rd person POV & started the chapter off in 1st person and mid chapter back to 3rd. And there were other times where the POV changed mid sentence.
This story gave me everything I wanted from a second-chance, nanny romance. Syxe’s journey from being the “perfect” wife to finding herself again was raw and real, and I felt every ounce of her strength as she rebuilt. Monty was that mix of protective and vulnerable that makes your heart ache, and the way he still cared for her after all the years, and heartbreak made their connection hit even harder.
What really stood out, though, was Cash and his silent demeanor. He wasn’t loud with the love he carried for Jackie, but the way he showed up for her, even when she didn’t want his help, said everything. He was steady, protective, and gave her the space to finally soften around Cash. Jackie could let her guard down and allow herself to be cared for, despite the differences in their backgrounds. The ending shocked me, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next. I just know Jackie might be caught in the middle of a love triangle, and I’m ready for the mess.
All Mine is more than just a steamy nanny romance, it’s about love that protects, heals, and makes space for softness in a world that’s often too hard.
Syxe & Montanas story starts way before we meet them in the 1st chapter. I was unsure about the age gap given she met him originally when he was only 9. But they addressed that and I was content on how the story played out between them. There were a few side plots that I would have liked to dig more into but I think that is opening up for more books down the line. The story itself, 4/5.
What I struggled with was the lack of editing. I downloaded an updated book that went through edits and was surprised to find so many issues. The constant switching from 3rd person to 1st person narrative. Some parts also became repetitive when switching from 1 pov to another. The multiple quotations marks and placement that made it hard difficult to figure out who was speaking. And there were a few things that didn’t add up (the age gap changed a few times). With the format/editing issues, 2/5.
All that said, this book had serious potential and I believe the next book in the series will improve.
2.5 ⭐️So, the author initially released this book then pulled it off Amazon to send back to editing. Unfortunately, it looks like this book has not been edited at all. There were lots of discrepancies, unnecessary repetition, and countless grammatical errors. There were constant switches between first and third person within the same sentence! However, the story was not bad and the author has great potential.
This was my first read by this author and I was not disappointed. It was unpolished in areas but the potential is very much there and I enjoyed this read and the story line. Montana and Syxe got a past that takes back to childhood very much unfinished business with drama and reconciliation with finding yourself again after past trauma. Their happy ending was long overdue and I’m glad to see their growth and love blossom in many ways with success.
Now I’m on to looking forward to reading Jackie and Cash book because we need to get to the bottom of that mess. I see many good things happening for this author hope she continues in her growth and continue unlocking her potential. ❤️
So, if I’m being honest I didn’t care for Calvin or Montana! They can both kick rocks. I understand why they were all so upset with Syxe but they never stopped to think about her why and all she endured while with that pos husband. It’s ridiculous that at more than 50% of the book they are still bickering and back and forth about much of nothing. I don’t see how Montana couldn’t understand that Syxe was married and still had unfinished business. She had that moment with him but she was still battling her husband and risking losing so much by leaving him. How could he expect her to just drop everything? She had to be fed up and ready. Nonetheless, this book was good! I am sooooo ready for Jackie and Cash book because this good doctor we were just introduced to seems like he is about to give Cash a run for his money 🤣🤣🤣
This book was enjoyable to read, but as we started getting towards the end of the book, the grammar and the switching of the POV’s mid sentence got worse. I think if the author and publishing company re-edited it’ll definitely be five stars. I also think that there were a couple things mentioned that were never addressed fully. I really wanted to see more of her relationship with her brother and how it was restored.
This story was good but the back and forth between the MMC - Montana and FMC- Syxe was starting to get annoying. One moment he forgives her and they are getting it on and then the next second his is pissed again. The blowout from their relationship going public could have been avoided if he stated they grew up together. She lived next door so it wasn't like they were strangers. Other than that I think it was a cute story and I can't wait to read about Jackie.
3.75 - 4 ⭐️ Overall, I enjoyed this story and its characters and I was definitely engaged throughout each part of the plot! It was nice to see black representation through every character and see black love in the perspective of older characters. However, the writing did lose me as some points with the sudden change of POV and scenes that didn’t feel necessary to have in this book as it didn’t really add to the FMC and MMC’s story. For example, I was not a fan of how many scenes we got of Jackie and Cash, I think since we know that they are the couple in the next book, just one or two scenes would’ve done the job to introduce them rather than having several scenes of them interacting one on one if that makes sense. Don’t get me wrong I was eating those up! But, I think since this is the FMC’s book we should be focusing more on her relationship but maybe I’m looking too deep into it lol. Either way, I would recommend!!
3.5⭐️: Montana and Syxe are too cute! Their love runs deep deep.... lol! Overall a good read! Some parts had me all the way into this book, while others not so much. But the spicy bits, yes please! I will say though, the many grammatical errors and the way the shifting between characters are not always clearly written out, was kind of disappointing.
This book was absolutely everything for me. It had depth, it had bits of grit, and baby the steam was the absolutely there. Montana may be young but age ain't nothing but a number for this young man because pressure was most definitely applied. His age def was showing with the hot and cold vibes he was giving out originally but then again he was hurt and a man hurt is essentially like a toddler hurt 🙃
I'm so happy though that Miss Syxe got her happy ending because she needed to know that it was possible for her to be yourself and to still be loved and cherished. She didn't have to shrink herself or erase her past to be worthy and to receive the world.
I cannot wait to get more of Jackie because baby girl needs to be shown that she doesn't have to be everything and she doesn't have to demean herself to get what she deserves. That mf Marcus did her number on her but I got a good feel that Najee is going to reverse all of it and show her what a true man can do!!
This book is written with 2 Tyler Perry films put together. To make a story 1st movie "I can do bad all by myself" and the other Diary of a mad black woman Mushed Mushed together Unfortunately this book just was Horribly written I'm sorry my honesty.
The romance between Montana and Syxe could have been something special, but too many pieces made it just… an okay read. The book was entirely too long—we circled back to Syxe running away like 3 different times. By the last time? Yeah, that could’ve been cut.
Montana deserves sainthood because Syxe had me stressed with all the indecision and the way she kept playing with this man’s feelings. 🙄 And why would anything Nia said carry weight in their relationship?! Then Syxe randomly got a job at a school, Monty started beefing with Marcus outta nowhere… like, how did he even get in it?!
This could’ve been tighter and more focused, but instead it dragged.
⭐️⭐️💫 (2.5/5)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
90% sure this book was written by AI. Horrible formatting, repeating dialogue and the repetitions don’t even match, going back and forth in POVs unnecessarily, story is just all over the place.
Example: In Jane’s POV Jane turned around and grabbed her toothbrush.
Next line, In John’s POV Jane bent over and picked up her toothbrush.
Like???????
AND it’s changing from 1st person to third person to… everything. It’s a lot.
The plot line was great, but if you’re going to use AI to write a story, at least take the time to iron the kinks out.
Any positive review you see regarding this book has no reader integrity or common sense.
Overall i enjoyed the storyline , the writing was all over the place, it was moments I had to pause and see if I was reading first person or third person..
I love the plot of a the nanny romance… the chemistry was hot! The drama was well done. It was weird at first with the age gap but I guess long as they were consenting adults.
Syxe and Jackie friendship was real and raw. Love their bond and how they were rebuilding their friendship after all the years she was away in her previous toxic relationship.
once I got over that hump, I was all in for the story. Just a few minors but nothing to not read the book over.
Absolutely loved the sneak peek at the end!! I’m all for Jackie finding her happiness.
This was cute but really didn’t hold my attention.
Now I am a sucker for brother’s bestie and a good nanny romance however this was all over the place. Montana was so hot and cold when it came to Syxe, it was annoying. I feel like he had every right to be mad that she ran off the way she did but cleary you want her so get over it. The third act breakup to me was so unnecessary and could’ve been avoided if they stated they knew each other since they were kids. After a while I honestly stopped caring if they ended up together.
I enjoyed that Syxe was finding her independence and rebuilding her life after being in that abusive relationship for so long and I’m glad that she got the life she always wanted.
All Mine was a cute story and a solid 3.5-star read for me. The hot-and-cold dynamic between Syxe and Montana felt a bit much at times, especially since it left big emotions between them that weren’t always fully addressed. I really enjoyed Jackie’s role as the best friend Syxe turned to when escaping her abusive marriage—we also got glimpses into Jackie’s story, which I can’t wait to read next. I do wish the kids had more dialogue and a bigger presence in the book instead of feeling more like cameos.
I also felt that everyone was a bit harsh with Syxe. Yes, she had pulled away about 10 years ago when she got married, but her actions came from trying to protect them, and I think she deserved more grace. That said, the emotional depth was incredible, and I loved that the characters were flawed, human, and made mistakes—it made them feel real. The author did a great job blending different tropes together seamlessly. There were some grammatical errors that made parts of the dialogue a little hard to follow, but overall, this was a strong first book and a good read.
4.25 ⭐️. I ate this book up. I really enjoyed this storyline and was soo invested in Montana and Syxe’s relationship. The only thing I’ll say is I didn’t like the writing format. How conversations were written threw me off about who was actually speaking. Also I wish Syxe told Montana the severity of why she stayed married. I do believe that may have been on purpose but that boy was hurting. Other than that this passed the vibe check. Would definitely recommend.
Montana waited for Syxe, Syxe waited for Montana. They knew their souls needed one another they just had to get the problems out of way first but I’m happy they made it. They both deserved the love they had to offer one another, Micah and Imani included.
Absolutely here for Syxe & Montana. Their story involved a lot of healing and moments of exasperation but they always made their way back to each other.
Can’t wait for Jackies story, and seeing where everyone is soon
