Definite shades of Rosemary's Baby and a hint of The Omen to this one, but not as scary or as steeped in the occult. This novel is more full of body horror and a lot more steamy than either of the other novels I mentioned.
The entire story is told from the view point of Aiden, the husband of Pandora. We never get a glimpse into Pandora's thoughts or emotions. Experiencing two miscarriages and a stillbirth through the emotional lens of Aiden was enlightening. The entire novel being told through Aiden's perspective made the story unique.
The real horror does not start until you reach the halfway point. Once it begins the book reads much faster.
*RANT ~ What the hell is the word "anyways" doing in any book!? If used as a colloquial marker to stress the way a certain type of character may speak I may forgive its use. Seeing, or hearing "anyways" is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard! I nearly DNF this book due to "anyways" being used throughout, especially since the characters using it were well educated and highly leveled professionals. Despicable.

Horror Fans Enjoy!
If you want a horror book that gets under your skin and lingers long after you’ve shut down the Kindle, put your head on the pillow and try to sleep, then this one is for you. The aspects of Pandora’s pregnancy and the childbirth itself are top-notch body horror. Enjoy!
