Rate this book
One small town mayor with dreams as big as her heart. Two very different men vying for her affection. A distraction? Or a chance for true love?

Mayor Maggie Marston is determined to build a performing arts center in Promise Cove, but everything is going wrong. When contractor Justin Thomas buys a summer home in the area and immediately pitches in, she thinks all her problems are solved.

Sheriff Tom Gerard has loved Maggie since he shared his Hostess cupcake with her in first grade. He wants more, but is afraid to lose their deep friendship if he makes a move. When Justin arrives in town and threatens to steal Maggie’s heart, he realizes he may have waited too long.

Torn between two men, Maggie’s attention to her project frays. Her relationship with her teenage daughter becomes strained. When a crisis hits, she’s forced to decide what—and who--really matters to her. Only one man can truly help her. Will she make the right choice in time?

Set in the glorious country of western Montana, this later-in-life tale will delight fans of clean small-town romance. Prepare a cup of your favorite tea and snuggle up with this exciting love story.

This is a well written book with a cast of strong, likable characters. The author does a great job building this small town story and the love and friendships as well as the romance. She does a beautiful job painting the scenes and moving the story fluidly. I loved reading and am looking forward to the next book.

So Maggie has always put everyone's needs in front of her own. She wanted to go to college but her father got sick, she came home to run the family store with her mother, she got involved with a person she thought would be her savior and take her away but she ended up pregnant and he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby so she handled it. Her life has been to HANDLE IT. Her best friend Tom has always been there for her but she could never really feel for him what he felt for her. With him there were no bells and whistles so she could not be in love with him right? So she continues to look for people like the one who left her. Each time hurting Tom worse and worse. She starts dating Justin who is just like Paul and Tom just keeps hanging out until he just can't do it anymore.
Then there is the scare and the tragedy that could be happening and Maggie realizes that she is truly in love with Tom but is it too late. She realizes that a true love isn't all about hearing bells but the companionship and trust that two people build up and that they work through the differences and are in tune with each other.
BUT < IS IT TO LATE>.

Grateful to the author for allowing me to read an ARC of the next book in the Promise Cove series. I know it is classified as a "romance" book but it is SO much more than that. This is a book about a small town, their friendships, their history and how they always step up for each other. Maggie, Kelly and Alex are best friends, they could not be more different. Maggie runs a business and is the mayor of Promise Cove. She raised a daughter. Her mom is leaving for France and her daughter will be leaving for college. Maggie is at a crossroads. Will she take a chance on love with an "outsider" who just strolled into Promise Cove or will she finally see the man who has been in love with her his whole life and finally accept him ? This book is beautifully written. You will love each and every character. You will want to live in Promise Cove. Trust me. Buy book one and read it, then you're ready for book # 2 when it comes out. SO glad I found Casey Dawes on Facebook. I have enjoyed reading all of her books !

What a wonderful journey that pulled me in and made me feel like I lived in Promise Cove. Maggie and Tom have been best friends every since he shared his cupcake in elementary school. For Tom, he loves Maggie but for Maggie, Tom is her best friend. I am impressed with Tom’s patience as he supports Maggie over the years. Maggie is at a crossroads as her mother prepares to visit Paris for her art and her daughter, Teagan, prepares to head to college. I love how we got to learn about all the challenges that Maggie faced and conquered that lead her to this point. She has two amazing friends, Kelly and Alex, that are great sounding boards and always there with a glass of wine. She finds herself attracted to a visitor in town which puts a strain on her relationship with Tom. I had moments where I wasn’t sure what Maggie would choose as she works through all her feelings as she finds her next path in the crazy journey called life. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Maggie's Choice . . .

Maggie Marston is the mayor of Promise Cove. Her life is changing as her daughter is preparing for college and her mom is going to France to immerse herself in art. Maggie also has dreams and wants to build a performing arts center for Promise Cove. Then a stranger, Justin Thomas, who happens to be a contractor comes into her life and she is attracted to him. This puts stress on Sheriff Tom Gerard who has loved Maggie since grade-school but never told her how he felt because he didn’t want to lose her friendship. Maggie has always considered him her friend and never looked beyond that. But with Justin showing interest in her, Tom needs to speak up now if it’s not already too late. Who will Maggie choose to be part of her life and her future: Justin or Tom?

I fell in love with Promise Grove and those her reside there in the first book so was great to be back and catch up with everyone and see what is in store for Maggie. Poor Tom he is the most patient and kind man when it comes to how much he loves Maggie who just doesn't see it, but now is the time for things to change and while we also revisit the past. This series is like a warm blanket that makes you laugh, roll your eyes, cry with sadness and happiness as well as want Maggie and Tom to have a HEA.

This is the second book in the Promise Cove Romance Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Maggie, Tom & Jason. Tom has been in love with her since grade school but doesn’t want to ruin their friendship but when Jason comes to town he knows he may have waited to long.

Wonderful and witty read about a love triangle in a small town. Entertaining characters to follow along on this journey. There are a few twists and bumps in the road. Like that the characters are older. Good read.

I really enjoyed this book, it has everything! The story line is realistic and entertaining. It’s well written and I loved that the characters were of a more mature age and later in life. A heartwarming story. Casey Dawes is a new author to me and I am so happy to have found her.

Great book

This series is wonderful but if you are about to read the kindle version the editing is downright embarrassing. It was very distracting and made me sad for everyone else that reads it.
