Dearest Initiate,

The Black Crown Society does not welcome the unworthy.

It crowns the ruthless. It protects the Chosen. And it buries the rest.

Lucien Devereux is born with sin carved into his bones—captain on the court, heir to the Sinners, and destined to rule. Power follows him. Fear respects him. He does not kneel.

Seraphina Carvelli is the one temptation he was never meant to claim. The whispers call her forbidden. The truth makes her his obsession.

Three years ago, she disappeared. Now she’s back in Black Crown’s sacred halls, pretending she was never his.

But the Society is watching.

Every Son of Black Crown must Choose—one woman bound to him in ritual, sealed in blood, and made untouchable. Once chosen, there is no escape.

When an outside threat begins circling the Society—and Seraphina becomes leverage—Lucien faces an impossible decision: let her walk away again…or bind her to him forever.

Because every crown is bought with blood.
Every vow demands loyalty.
And the most dangerous love is the one you’re willing to kill for.

He is the Sinner no one dares cross.
She is the girl he was never meant to touch.

And once he Chooses her…the world kneels.

I love a dark mafia romance with a little bit of taboo action.
They both “found out” that she is his half sibling only after they become incredibly infatuated with each other, they haven’t spoken for years and now…she’s back and he still hasn’t gotten over his obsession. Lucien Devereux is the definition of a morally black mmc who will stop at NOTHING to get the girl, so you have been warned! But there’s also nothing he wouldn’t do to for Seraphina, whether it’s to protect her or make her the happiest cult wife in the world. This man is soo unhinged and is perfect for the Zade Meadows girlies out there. The storyline was good, but in my opinion still pretty basic apart from the forbidden half siblings thing. There’s a major cult storyline and the secret society dark academia vibe was on point. But there’s also nothing plot twists just didn’t get me all too much and didn’t really stand out to me. There also isn’t much development of the characters apart from their romance, and I loved how the banter at the start turned into this fierce protectiveness of each other. One thing I do wish is that we got more of their past together as it would really sr us up to connect more with the characters. But overall book was a fun and spicy read and I give it a 4/5

Holy. Moly. And by that I mean UNHOLY of course.

The tropes and teasers for Unholy Sinners truly didn’t do this book justice. While I think some readers may not enjoy the religious aspect to the story, I actually enjoyed it. It was dirty and filthy and I liked it more than I probably should.

The desire you see between the FMC and the MMC is just insatiable and I (unrealistically) want to see that kind of desire and unfettered devotion in my future man.

It’s the unhinged devotion From the MMC that was entirely too enticing for me.

I need the next book now please!!

I am absolutely FERAL over this book. 🌑🖤 Unholy Sinner had me locked in from the first page and I swear I barely blinked until the end. Lucien and Seraphina consumed my entire brain chemistry. The obsession, the tension, the possessiveness, the history between them??? Havoc Wilde really said “here’s a romance dipped in sin and blood and devotion” and I happily drowned in it.

Lucien Devereux is THAT man. Toxic? Absolutely. Protective? Unhingedly. Obsessed with Seraphina to the point of destruction? Delicious. Every scene with him felt sharp edged and addictive, like standing too close to a fire and loving the burn anyway. And Seraphina was not some weak little heroine either. She matched his energy in the best way and their chemistry was genuinely volcanic. Every interaction felt loaded with years of pain, longing, anger, and want. I ate it UP.

The Black Crown Society atmosphere was everything I wanted. Dark, secretive, elite, dangerous. It had this gothic velvet-and-blood vibe wrapped around every page. The rituals, the power plays, the “Choose” aspect??? Inject it directly into my veins. The stakes felt massive and the romance somehow still managed to overpower all of it.

And can we TALK about the obsession in this book because WOW. This wasn’t soft love. This was “burn the world and kneel in the ashes together” kind of love. The man said mine in every possible way without always saying the word and I was giggling like a lunatic the entire time.

I inhaled Seraphina and Lucien’s story in one sitting and now I’m sitting here emotionally wrecked, sleep deprived, and already wanting to reread it. Dark romance readers who love morally grey men, secret societies, blood vows, obsession, possessive energy, and a couple willing to destroy anyone standing in their way… this book is your next addiction. Five stars without hesitation. 🖤👑🔥

Honestly, after the other books I've read of this interconnected universe, this has been the strongest. A few things that I loved about this:

♰ Not all the characters were virgins and were only interested in one person. In a lot of the other books the characters seemingly didn't have a past and it didn't ring as realistic
♰ While the insta-love was there it wasn't all consuming. They were able to function to do other things
♰ I believed this relationship actually could be real.

I very much enjoyed this read. The one criticism that I would have is that there wasn't a whole lot of detail and there were a bunch of time jumps in the chapters. You'd start one and she'd say "I've been here for 3 weeks"... WHICH I'm happy that they're giving us context, but I would have loved to see more interactions with other characters to fill in those gaps a bit. She seemed like she hit it off with Valentina and we didn't get much interaction outside of the initial one. The same goes with his relationship with Asher and Cassian. Cassian - who seems to have some sort of situationship with Lucien - kinda wish we would have went into more detail with that.

I'm interested in learning more about the Black Crown Society, too... We've gotten tidbits, but not wholly. Also, we got to see Ramsey Blackwood. Gotta love seeing old buddies. I do gotta hand it to these kids for coming out I don't want to say normal, but normalish with the parents they have. I'm excited for the rest of this series. I feel like we're gonna love these pairings.

SATAN & HIS LITTLE SINNER! Unholy Sinner is the first book in the Sinners of the Black Crown Society series by Havoc Wilde. A dark college basketball romance where the MCs are part of a secret society, obsession and manipulation is the game, the witty banter is top notch, the spice is spicy and the suspense holds your attention. Loved the ring scene, it reminded me so much of Penn Blackwood! But...I wish we had more info on the MCs past, the time lines sometimes didn't fit and the epilogue left me wanting more.

TW: Heir to Power, Secret Society, Chosen/Claimed, Ritual Based Bond, Touch-Her-and-Die Energy, Dangerous Love, Not actually related/No blood relation between main characters (lying about being half-siblings in the beginning), Power imbalance, Ritualized violence, Blood imagery, Religious imagery used in dark contexts, Threats of violence, Manipulation, References to abuse of authority, Dubcon, Murder.

I would like to Thank The Smuthood and Havoc Wilde for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promised an honest review.

Seraphina Carvelli has been gone for three years and has come back to finish her senior year of college at St. Augustine. She's keeping her head down and hopes she doesn't draw the attention of Satan since she tried her best to forget him.

Lucien Devereux hasn't forgotten his Little Sinner and he's still obsessed, but he found out one important piece of information that changes everything. Seraphina is his half sister.

Both are descendants of the Black Crown Society and it's time for the Choosing ceremony and Lucien will kill two birds with one stone in his Chosen.

Seraphina knows Lucien is out to break her and she intends to fight back but what happens when the psychopath breaks her so bad that it rebounds back on him?

The amount in which I loved this book might need to be studied. I knew when I read the blurb I wanted to read the book. It just sounded like a book that was going to be good. It honestly made me want to watch the movie Skulls with Joshua Jackson (yeah, probably dating myself with that one 😂) but I couldn’t get enough.

Is it archaic? Yes
Did I care? No

Lucien and Seraphina were born into wealthy families that are a part of (or rule) a secret society. Lucien is set to select his “Chosen” who is the society equivalent of his wife. He can choose any available daughter of age in the society and he wants Seraphina, complications be damned. This is where the book gets GOOD!! There are some complications that make this selection extremely interesting and if you decide to read this book (which you should) read the content warnings because they are helps and important and make the book enjoyable. They work together to right some wrongs and uncover the complications.

Anyway, Seraphina tries to fight her attraction at every step and fails. It’s a real love/hate, thin line relationship and it’s fantastic. She’s feisty and sassy and a perfect counterpart for Lucien

I think Lucien was definitely crazy. He was a man obsessed and in the real world I’d be scared but as a book boyfriend, I’m here for it!! He was powerful and dominant and he loved the challenge that Seraphina brought into his life.

Go read this book! After you read the content warnings! There is one thing that might make you wanna put this book down, but I PROMISE IT’S NOT AS IT SEEMS!! So go read this book.

This review is based upon my own opinions and thoughts. Thank you to The Smuthood for my ARC, in exchange for my honest review.

Any book that keeps me going to the point where I have read it 50% just in one sitting because of the writing and flow of the story is an instant 5-star read for me!

Thank you to the Author and The Smuthood for sending this ARC my way. <3

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, cover to cover. Loved Lucien a little more than Seraphina because of his humor and wit! The main characters were giving, okay? They served. Ate. Left no crumbs. SO, SO GOOD! The FMC was done SO right. I am screaming because this book made me SO happy and got me out of my reading slump. :)

Okay so, Unholy Sinner follows the story of Lucien and Seraphina - his half-sister - but that clears out pretty quickly before things take turn for the worse. They're part of a secret society and this year, Lucien has to partake in the ritual of finding and announcing his Chosen. Ding. Ding. Ding You guessed it! He chooses Seraphina who's baffled because wtf? She's his half-sister (or so she thinks). The story progresses where they both navigate how to hide this secret from the council and simultaneously gather evidence whether or not they truly share DNA. Lots of drama, confrontation, tension, steam, and spice, through and through. You will be on the edge because why is this happening and will they end up together after all this mess? Bonus addition? He's a star basketball player and she wears the rival's jersey to an important match. Seraphina - 1, Lucien - 0. He then makes her change in the middle of the game threatening to do it himself in front of the entire stadium. Seraphina - 1, Lucien - 1.

You guys are in for a treat and I cannot wait for future books in this series because this is my brand of crazy and intense! 5/5 💕

Get you a man who is completely unhinged but will still wash your hair and paint your toenails. 🧼💅

This book was the perfect start to the Sinners of the Black Crown Society series! This is my first read by Havoc but it definitely won’t be my last.

I absolutely adored how obsessed and protective Lucien is over Seraphina. I mean, who doesn't love a man who is completely unhinged but still washes your hair, paints your toenails, and will drop everything to make sure you are safe? Ugh, perfection. I was smiling like crazy.

The storyline and the society itself were so well-written. I also LOVED how strong-willed Seraphina is, there is nothing better than an FMC who refuses to take BS from anyone. Watching these two slowly realize how deeply they care for one another was so worth it. And that plot twist? My jaw was on the floor...I did not see it coming at all!

The ending gives you all the warm, fuzzy feelings, and I am incredibly excited for the future books in this series.

Thank you Havoc and Smuthood for the ARC! ❤️🖤

Tropes:
Dark romance
He falls first
Touch her and die
Morally grey, obsessive/possessive MMC
Secret society

ARC read, thank you to the author and Smuthood PR for an early copy.

This book was utterly unhinged in the best possible way! Although, I almost DNF’d in the prologue and was only able to continue because I read the content list and found out that , so worth bearing that in mind. The secret society added a novel element, especially the whole Chosen concept.

Lucien is everything. He’s possessive, utterly obsessed, jealous, morally so dark grey it’s basically black, and will literally kill you for looking at Seraphina wrong. But he’s also protective, gentle, caring, and will wash her hair and paint her toenails. He does some truly f*d up things, both to Seraphina and more broadly, largely because he doesn’t know what to do with his feelings.

Seraphina is no one’s damsel in distress and, other than once in the beginning of the relationship, gives Lucien as good as she gets. She’s strong, passionate, and equally obsessed, although she fights it for so long before finally giving into the electric chemistry.

The spice is next level hot, although there’s a degree of dubcon, so check your triggers. Lucien and Seraphina are a raging inferno together and damn near melted my kindle! 🥵

I would have liked the secret society aspect to be explained a little better, as it was confusing at times trying to keep everything straight, hence 4.5 stars instead of 5. That said, I’m 100% bought into this world and can’t wait for more, particularly given what I’m hoping will be Cassian & Valentina’s and Asher & Ophelia’s stories.

Lucien Devereux was completely unhinged, but in the best way possible. His possessiveness over Seraphina was almost terrifying, yet.. I loved every moment of it. Their relationship was built on manipulation, obsession, power struggles, and raw emotional chaos.

“Sometimes when you push someone past the edge, you find out exactly what they’re capable of.”

Seraphina was a total badass. The stunt she pulled during Lucien’s game was perfection. Even though Lucien tried to control her, she never stopped fighting back. Their dynamic was toxic, explosive, and completely addictive.

The constant back and forth between Lucien and Seraphina kept me stressed the whole time. One moment, they were at each other’s throats, and the next, they were drawn together by an attraction neither could resist. And after she finally submitted to him, the guilt she felt combined with that moment of aftercare really pulled at my heart.

The spice was absolutely wild. I was genuinely thankful for the downtime at work while reading this, but I kept checking to make sure no one was looking at what I was reading. Yeah, they're nosy that way lol.

This is not a sweet romance. This perfectly represents dark romance: obsession presented as devotion, control masked as protection, and love twisted into something dangerous and all-consuming.

Book: 3.5⭐️

Things I absolutely loved:
Lucian washed Seraphina's hair and then painted her toes at the end. There is just something about a tough powerful guy that will do everyday things for their women.

This is a quicker read and for me light on the dark romance. If you are just starting out reading darker things this one is a great starter book.

Tropes:
🖤 Darkish Romance
🎀 Forbidden (half siblings until they weren't)
🖤 Obsessive / Possessive MMC
🎀 He Falls First
🖤 Heir to Power
🎀 Secret Society
🖤 Chosen / Claimed
🎀 Ritual-Based Bond
🖤 Touch Her and 💀
🎀 Devotion Over Redemption
🖤 Morally Gray / Antihero MMC
🎀 Dangerous Love with a HEA
🖤 Basketball Romance

This starts out with Lucian and Seraphina being pulled to each other but were told they were half siblings (share same dad). Of course when you get into secret society you never know who you can trust. The person that told them they were siblings were lying so don't let that keep you from reading it.

I went into this book thinking it was going to be darker than what it was. The tropes had me hooked but it didn't keep me interested like I was hoping it would. I am not sure if it's because it's under 300 pages and just needed more. For me there were so many missed opportunities to make this a 4.5 or higher read for me.

Check trigger warnings.

Thank you Havoc Wilde and The Smuthood for the early copy. Above are my honest thoughts.

I recieved an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

This book drops you straight into the thick of things in a way that pulled me in and did not let me go. Lucien and Seraphina are both from families of the Black Crown, a secret society that rules from the shadows. Lucien has been raised to take the reins and be at the helm because of his family's ranking. Both Lucien and Seraphina's family are hiding dangerous secrets that become even riskier when Lucien names her as his Chosen to be bound together forever.

I absolutely loved the progression of their relationship. They grew up together and developed a connection, but then Seraphina's family moved away for three years. When she returns, they don't automatically get back together. Instead, we get to witness the tension between what they want, what their families and the Black Crown wants, and the struggle of discovering what they want. I also loved the way Seraphina and Lucien both fought back in their own ways. They didn't let tradition blindly keep them bound. They're still part of the Black Crown, but more so on their own terms. I have to add that I don't like basketball (I don't hate it I just don't watch it) but the writing really pulled me in to the action of the basketball games. Lucien is the absolute perfect amount of possessive/ touch her and die without being over the top.

This book felt like it was over too quickly. I looked up and I was done. This was a good read indeed. I hope there's more from the Black Crown.

Havoc, you really know how to write a man that leaves a permanent mark on someone because Lucien? Yeah… he was no exception. Somewhere between the threats, the control, the obsession, and the protection, you somehow made me understand that sometimes the things we never would’ve chosen for ourselves end up becoming the very thing we needed most. And honestly? I’d let the Black Crown Society tell me what to do any day of the week.

Lucien, sir… you knew exactly what you were doing from the very beginning. The threats? Perfectly delivered. The possessiveness? Unhinged in the best way. The way you could break down a stubborn woman until she finally gave in? Dangerous. And somehow between making enemies pay, protecting your chosen, dressing her in your jersey, and always staying ten steps ahead of everyone else, you still managed to make yourself impossible not to love. A manipulative chessmaster with devotion buried underneath all that darkness will do it every single time.

And Seraphina? She’s my kind of FMC. A woman who refuses to apologize for taking up space, for being stubborn, for wanting more, for giving in when she chooses to, for being sharp around the edges, for needing help, for having claws and not being afraid to use them. She reminded me that sometimes being the villain in someone else’s story just means you finally chose yourself first.

So with all that being said…when exactly are we meeting the rest of the team?

✨Gifted ARC✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

The tropes on this one sucked me in! Forbidden / dark / secret society / touch her & ☠️/ morally gray? Yes, please!

THOUGHTS 💭
🖤 Our MMC Lucien was so deliciously, forbiddenly obsessed with our FMC, Seraphina; even if it was wrong and forbidden, he couldn’t stay away.
🏀 Lucien was wealthy enough and well-connected enough to be above the rules and the law - he ran campus and Seraphina doesn’t have a chance to escape him.
🖤 There was a history and a dark secret between our MCs and it had me on the edge of my seat. I kept wanting to see more of the politics and the characters and the secret society! I wanted the story to go deeper, I wanted the story to be darker, and I wanted to really be immersed in this forbidden story; it didn’t fully get there for me.
🏀 Lucien’s obsession and Seraphina’s dislike… I truly couldn’t get enough! They say love and hate are two sides of the same coin and there’s just something about the way these feelings played out in this book. I loved that Seraphina could hold her own with the society prince.
🖤 That forbidden spice just hits differently. 🥵 It’s so wrong, but so very hot.
🏀 I loved seeing the vengeful side and the hateful side; the tender side and the protective side.

Thanks so much to The Smuthood and Havoc Wilde for the ARC of this book!

I swear Havoc Wilde really said: “Oh, you thought you knew unhinged? You thought you were prepared? That’s adorable.” Cuz this book didn’t just deliver chaos — it baptized me in it.

Lucien. OH LUCIEN. My man is unhinged, obsessive, feral, and somehow still operating with the precision of a man who has already planned your wedding, your funeral, and the exact shade of blood he wants on his hands if anyone looks at you wrong.

He didn’t just join Penn Blackwood in the number one spot — he materialized next to him like a demon summoned by thirst, breathing down his neck, whispering “move over, king.” Penn should be sweating. Lucien was this close to snatching the crown. If Havoc would have given him one more scene of obsessive devotion? Penn would have been DONE.

And let’s not forget Seraphina. My girl is badass, stubborn, and built from the bones of every woman who ever said “try me” and meant it. Every time she stands up for herself, I swear I hear a faint “YESSSS QUEEN” echo from the heavens. She’s the kind of heroine who makes you want to kick down a door just to prove you can.

She and Lucien together?
That’s not chemistry — that’s arson. Plain and simple.

I am already feral for the future books.
Give me the others.
Give me their trauma.
Give me their obsessions.
Give me their descent into Havoc‑brand madness.

Lucien freaking Devereaux! I was excited for this series what with all the little teases we got in the previous books, and Havoc did so good!! Lucien and Seraphina blew me away, the plot was great, and the peek into the other storylines have me crazy excited.

Rating : 4.5/5
Tropes : Basketball, Secret society, Bold FMC, Obsessed MMC, suspense, found family vibes
Spice : 3.5/5

Lucien is the captain of the basketball team at St.Augustine's and the heir to the Black Crown secret society. Seraphina is the daughter of one of the members of the society, albeit a low ranking one. Lucien was obsessed with his little sinner way before they were in college but certain instances took Seraphina away from the place. Three years later, and as soon as he sees her, he's done waiting. The story delves into the secret society aspect and there is a suspense plot that keeps you guessing how to story is going to go next. Not going to lie, felt a little disappointed that we didn't get more information about what happened to Seraphina's brother, and the story behind what took them away for three years. But hopefully, Havoc is giving us all that more in the next books, so Excited eep!

The secret society drama had me devouring this book. So unrealistic but very entertaining.

Lucien is an arrogant basketball player, heir to the Sinners, and a little unhinged, but it really worked for me. Seraphina is bratty and that's what drives Lucien towards her. Lucien is supposed to choose someone to be their partner in blood (like a marriage, not family). They "discover" they are half-siblings before the ritual and it creates chaos.

Their tension was explosive and the spicy scenes were hot. It wouldn't work for me in real life, but in this book? It works perfectly. I wished I had a little bit more context on their history before Seraphine disappeared and the secret society. I think it is probably part of an interconnected spin-off series, but it did not affect the flow of the story. It just made me read faster. I really want to know more about the side characters like the background of Seraphina's parents, brother, and more on how the chosen ones are going for Cassian and Asher. Will definitely read more by Havoc.

If you like your book boyfriend to be powerful, an athlete and completely obsessed with you to the point of being unhinhged then this one is for you! This is the first book in the Sinners of the Black Crown Society series. The series starts with the heir to the throne, Lucien who is completely obsessed with Seraphina who may or may not be his half sister. Because of their familial connection he knows he can never have her. So he makes sure that no one else can either. This makes Seraphina hate Lucien more than she already does. She’s not a woman to be told what to do and she hates the society and its stupid rules so she decides to fight Lucien with everything she has. Lucien has big plans to make changes to the society once he takes over but first must get rid of all of the obstacles standing in his way, the biggest one being his (their) father. This is an enemies to lovers/bully book at its best!

This is a dark romance filled with obsession, control and dangerous attraction. It blends psychological tension with high spice, creating a story playing on power dynamics, intense chemistry and very blurred lines.

I really enjoyed this book. I constantly found myself reading “just one more chapter".

I also liked the characters. Lucien is a strong, morally grey alpha guy who is completely obsessed with and protective of the FMC. He knows exactly what he wants—and it’s her. Seraphina, on the other hand, is feisty yet vulnerable. She puts up a fight, but deep down she wants him just as much.

There is a constant push-pull dynamic between them and the battle for power and control within both their relationship and the secret society surrounding them. Add in the semi-forbidden aspect of the half-sibling connection and plenty of steamy spice, and it made for a very enjoyable read.

This is more for readers who enjoy darker romances, obsessive and slightly deranged MMCs, intense chemistry, and messy, potentially toxic relationship dynamics.

Lucien Devereux is the definition of a walking red flag, yet I couldn't tear myself away from his hold over Seraphina. Their story isn't a gentle love affair it’s a chaotic, high stakes battleground of psychological manipulation, mutual fixation, and intense power plays.

Seraphina holds her own beautifully. She is fierce, resilient, and refusing to be broken. Her brilliant retaliation during Lucien’s twisted game was easily one of my favorite moments of the book. Even when he tries to dominate her world, she matches his energy step for step, making their volatile chemistry absolutely electric.

The suspense of their constant friction kept me on edge from start to finish. They constantly oscillate between wanting to ruin each other and giving in to a magnetic, inevitable attraction. What really caught me off guard, though, was the emotional depth after the turning point of her surrender. The heavy contrast between her internal guilt and his unexpectedly tender aftercare truly struck a chord.

Review of Advanced Copy:

One thing I will say up front is that I came into this story somewhat blind. I have read “Sinful Obsession” from Havoc in the past, so when I had the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book, I took it. That being said, in the first few pages I felt the heaviness of the history between the two main characters, Lucian and Seraphina. That heaviness was so intriguing that I was taken back to when the elder woman in my family would sit back with coffee (or tea) and would drop some heavy lore that kid me was internally bursting through the seams finding out about. Dark romance has a way of hooking you that way. Not everyone can do it well but I am again impressed with how Havoc hooked me. We all know it’s wrong but there’s something about it that makes it that you can’t turn away.

The obsession and control as well as the push and pull of the main characters made it a compelling and solid read. The spice was definitely there.

MF Dark Secret Society Romance

‘I lean back in my chair, enjoying the show. My Little Sinner has claws, and she’s not afraid to use them.’

Great read! This was quick, dirty, spicy and perfectly unhinged. He’s the kind of red flag that will cross any line to make her his…. Even if it’s a sin 😉 And she’s not the type to take it lying down. In the end all that mattered is that they both wanted it…

No cheating, no OWD, no third act breakup with a HEA

‘It’s not a fairy tale. It’s messy and complicated and sometimes downright fucked up. But it’s ours. This isn’t a beginning or an end—it’s just another chapter in a story that was always going to end with us together. Two fucked-up souls who found their match in each other.’

I really enjoyed this one. I loved the relationship between Lucien and Seraphina. They both are perfect for each other & compliment each other really well. I don't think I've come across a more suited book couple before.

Lucien is so obsessed and possessive of Seraphina. I love the way he protects her and looks out for her. The man even washes her hair & paints her toenails 🥹🥹 I had to laugh how s3xual the whole scene sounded while he was washing her hair 😂🤭

I also really enjoyed the whole secret society storyline. It can be a trope that I'm not a massive fan of usually, however I really enjoyed it in this book as I think the author did it justice and made it amazing.

Highly recommend ❤️

Havoc Wilde truly excels at delivering sharp banter and irresistible, red-flag mafia men, and Black Crown Society member Lucien did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the dynamic and constant back-and-forth between him and Seraphina, especially Lucien’s delightfully over-the-top possessiveness.

While I'm a huge fan of secret society tropes, I do wish we had gotten a bit more depth regarding the society itself in this installment—though I’m hopeful more lore will be revealed as the series progresses. My main critique lies in the character development; I felt we could have understood who these characters really are if we had more scenes showing them grow. Additionally, the climax felt a bit rushed with very little buildup, and I would have loved a stronger plot twist to anchor the ending.

Overall, though, I loved the story and the characters. It was a fantastic read, and I am incredibly excited to dive into the rest of the series!

I am loving this series already and it’s only the first book!!

Seraphina and Lucien are destined to be together, although they both have strong feelings they have kept each other at bay because they both think they are related, which was such an ordeal. They may have had a few encounters when young, doing dumb things young kids do, but never went as far as having s3x.

As they’re older now, Lucien seems to have gotten even more obsessed with Seraphina and has picked her as his chosen. Seraphina doesn’t like that much because of what they believe to be true. Although she’s strongly attracted to him.

The things Lucien does to get his ways and the extremes he goes through to get what he wants. Now talk about one heck of an impressive alpha male right here!

The push and pull, the sarcasm and the spicy sexy scenes (to die for)!

I’m looking forward to the rest of the gang cause this book was soooooo good

I rate Unholy Sinner a 3.5.

When I read the blurb, I really loved the idea of this book, and I did enjoy myself. I loved the banter and tension between Lucien and Seraphine. I was so shocked at their relationship in the beginning, but I knew something else had to be in the works. Even though they are stubborn, they care about each other and will do anything to help each other. I liked the basketball scenes in this book because I was able to see Lucien in a different element than being the heir to the Black Crown Society. I also liked how Seraphine didn't make anything easy for him. With all of this, I just wish there was more. I was questioning the plot after reading because I wanted more elaboration. I loved the flow of this book, but just wanted more overall. Also, I felt somethings were repetitive in the book that didn't need to be. I will be reading the second book and any more in the future.

The story is quite captivating, mixing tension, secret society, manipulations and secrets overall.
The whole secret society is truly interesting, and I found myself wanting to know more about it, what they do, and what their operations are.

The main characters are quite entertaining, but I just am not too fond of the brat/brat-taming part of it.

It is, however, very interesting to see that the author did not shy away from showing Seraphina's mental and emotional meltdown. The duality of her desire, what she does and what she believes is true, what causes her to react this way and the consequences. It added depth to the characters and their situation.

I was also quite invested in knowing the truth of everything, wanting to know more about each character, their motivations, the lies and their reasons.

Overall, an entertaining book, and I hope there will be Cassians and Valentina’s story as well as Asher’s.

I felt like this was missing some pieces. There were parts that made me think did i miss something. It was not as dark as I thought it would be either. I had questions still on everyone involved. They mentioned her family up and disappeared and are back. I was unsure on the why on that.

Lucien has a terrible father and I was curious about his mom that is only mentioned. Seraphina has an awful mother and her father is kind of a mystery too.

There were really great descriptions on moments related to the chosen cult scene. It was well done and for a moment had be questioning is there a supernatural element.

It ends with everything working out but still felt half finished with everyone else not having to own up to anything... Plus the whole I have questions about many things that felt not fleshed out or explained.

I had high hopes and maybe that was my fault but don't come for me. I didn't like this as much as I thought I would 🫣

Now I have read quite A LOT of dark romance and I love them. By the blurb I was expecting darkkkkkkkkkkkk romance, this give me a lukewarm grey romance that I was hoping would get darker as time went on.

While it wasn't as dark as I was expecting, there were still things that I felt were missing, I can't quite put my finger on it but there was something for me. I also didn't really feel a connection to the characters.

While this one wasn't for me, I know others will enjoy the read.
