There isn't a description of this book anywhere I can find, so I'll just write what I remember from my childhood. This was a book my mother read to me when I was little, that she loved when she was in grade school.
It is about a young girl named Jennifer who goes to live with her rich aunt in Chicago. I remember the book had really neat descriptions of the old mansions that used to be in the city, before they were torn down or converted.
I can't remember why, but Jennifer decides to take up ballet lessons. She also makes friends with a young paperboy (maybe named Tony?) who she sees on the way to her lessons.
I'm sure a lot more happens in the story, but it ends with Jennifer writing a ballet about the city, and the paperboy's father writes the music.
It was very sweet, and one of my favorites to have my mom read to me! It was part of a series about Jennifer, which I read a few others of from the library, but none of them had the same impact as this one - maybe because they didn't have the memory of my mother reading it out loud to me!
