She taught me how to be the perfect Dom for her … then told me she didn't want me.

I didn't know what to expect when I was promoted to the executive wing at my job, but I never expected Olivia Lucero.
As the CEO of a cybersecurity company, Olivia is as ambitious as they come. She’s as fierce as her late father wanted her to be, and when the company starts to experience problems, she’s ambushed by the men working beneath her. They’re intimidated by a strong woman in power, and they expect me to go along to get along. But I’d risk it all before I let that happen, and that’s when she sees something … unique in me.

I've always called it my dark devil, but Olivia sees it as a flower to be nurtured. She brings something devious out of me. Something empowering. I barely recognize myself when I'm with her, and we make the perfect mess together.

But there are rules to this game we’re playing. It’s just a Dom/sub dynamic. Just sex. No matter our chemistry. No matter how perfect our depravity is. I am not allowed to fall for her … my teacher … my submissive.

But I'm breaking. The more we work together, the more I struggle to keep her rules intact. During the day, she's my boss. At night, I'm hers … and I want more. Our company is on its last legs, and we’re supposed to save it together. But how can I save the company when I can't save myself from her?

This is WS Greer's best work to date! When I say this book hit hard that's an understatement. The pages wouldn't turn fast enough, I couldn't devour it faster if I tried! One day was all it took! Quinn and Olivia are two of my favorite characters, each bringing a depth that many will be able to understand and empathize with. For us women, we all want to be that independent woman, but deep down we also want to be protected, cherished, cared for, respected, and all the other things that make us feel feminine, but society says we can't be both, so we tend to choose. And Quinn wasn't much different. He struggled with his fathers history and how he thought that defined him. What I saw was a deeply emotional man who had feelings he didn't know how to properly express because he hadn't embraced that side of him yet. But once he did it completed a circle and allowed him to come into the man he was meant to be. And with both of their evolutions they became the best kind of partner to each other that they didn't know they needed. I think we all struggle between what is expected of us and what and who we want to be, thinking there is only one answer. But in reality we are complex, and have so many facets that make up who we are, we just have to be brave enough to embrace them all. Now, for the spice factor, because I know ya'll come into Greer's book knowing it will be a spicy ride....yes, the hot, luscious BDSM spice is there and it takes you into a chokehold right from the start and doesn't let go, so buckle up for the ride because this is his spiciest book yet! I love the way he delves into the bad sides to the D/s dynamic, specifically fakes, because I think a lot of us may be curious and have even encountered a fake Dom (or even a sub) who liked the idea of it but didn't respect the lifestyle enough to learn all they could before jumping in with both feet. And in turn, made first encounters for some into something bad, to be feared, and maybe even made some walk away entirely. So I'm glad that was addressed and put in its place! I can't wait to grab my signed hardback of this book to add to my WS Greer shelf! If you're like me, you will finish this, have a hangover, and want to turn right around and start it again! You've killed it again Will, BRAVO!!!

Phew .. this was it!

I remember reading in one of his previous books a book that was mentioned called Left of the Slash and I immediately went online to see if that was a real book or not. And it wasn't. I was lightweight bent out of shape and wishing it were. And now it is and it was definitely worth the wait!

I loved all of the characters. I absolutely love the camaraderie in books and movies between Black men and he nailed it here - because we're just entertaining as a people LOL I love that in his books you get all of the hottest kink, but there's also an actual legitimate story involved and it has always been a really good one. I've never been left to feel like, dang something is really missing here.

I will say the one and only thing that made me itch and gave me ick was hearing a Black man refer to his main member as "the C word" - come on now... You KNOW it's "the D word" 😏 But other than that, I really enjoyed the entire story and I'm looking forward to the next book.

I had such a great time reading Left of the Slash by W.S. Greer I found this to be an incredible read! I think that the character development and emotional depth were both perfectly executed here , and the Dom/sub dynamic was written with a lot of care and authenticity. both the plot and tension had me hooked from start to finish. The books this man writes are incredible! I loved watching both character's grow throughout reading this story, the growth of them both individually and together. The ending was also very deeply satisfying to read and it has also wrapped everything up perfectly. I can say this is a must read for anyone who enjoys reading an emotionally spicy office romance that has real heart and heat.

Passion! Fire! Struggle! Love! The tension of the book had me on edge! The dynamic between the two main characters is amazingly realistic and the Dom and sub dynamic is perfectly written! The anti-hero male main character is perfection! I loved the ending and how the tension was dragged out! Five stars and always an automatic buy author!

Thank you to The Author Agency for my ARC of Left of the Slash by WS Greer!!

My initial thought after finishing Left of the Slash was how much I appreciated the balance between plot and spice. In my limited sample size of books I’ve read in this genre, I have mostly enjoyed it when the author abandons plot and just goes full smut because the balance between plot and smut when it comes to kink exploration just ends up feeling forced on both accounts. Greer was able to deliver a well written plot that incorporated the spice at the right times and in a way that didn’t feel forced. He also was able to present information about a BDSM lifestyle in a way that was educational but also hot. I am not in a position to determine if what goes down between Quinn and Olivia is realistically how it would go IRL, but it FELT authentic reading it.

So why am I giving it only 4 stars if I liked it so much? I struggled SOOOOO hard with Quinn at different points throughout the book. Personally, I didn’t love how everything went down in the end. With that said, I still really enjoyed most of the book, which I think may be a first for me. I don’t know that I can say I’ve liked a book if I actually struggled with the end result. It’s very weird tbh. I think part of it was I took the time to read the acknowledgements at the end of the book and learning that Greer himself struggled with Quinn as a character helped. I can appreciate the process he explained going through to get to this version of Quinn and I respect how satisfied Greer ended up being with the finished product.

My last thought is I genuinely hope to get an audiobook version of this book some day. With the right narrators this book would be absolute fire. Left of the Slash is available on KU now!

10/10 ⭐️ 10/10🌶

WOW, WS GREER HAS DONE IT AGIAN! This is my 4th book that I've had the honor of reading and I have LOVED each one but I gotta say this one so far is MY FAVORITE. I just loved Olivia the fiery CEO (FMC)
who is a woman who knows what she wants and takes no BS from men & who secretly wants a man to make her his submissive and when she meets her newly promoted employee Quinn (the MMC) she learns quickly that he has every potential to the perfect Dom she's been looking for and he's definitely up for the challenge as he's always felt like he's had a darker side but not found the right woman to help him explore that darker side and when she unleashs his beast he's unstoppable and becomes the Dom he was always meant to be and the Dom she always dreamt of but with her always living for the company her father founded can they keep things alive or is this only a spicy discovery to help unlock each other truths for it all to crumble cause their scared to let go of the unknown. If you haven't read any WS GREER books and you love books that are about BDSM and a author that knows what their talking about then READ WS GREER BOOKS AS YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED cause he definitely pulls you into the story and you fill like your apart of it and another thing I love about his about his books is I'M ALWAYS LEARNING SOMETHING NEW ABOUT THE BDSM LIFESTYLE & as a person who doesn't live that life but who IS DEFINITELY intrigued & LOVES TO LEARN about it I can appreciate the new knowledge I walk away with after reading a WS Greer book.

Left of the Slash ~ Quinn about him, and Olivia.

Having read several books by this author, I was thrilled to receive an ARC. I must say this book is exceptionally well-written. The characters were incredible, and their dynamic was portrayed perfectly within the BDSM lifestyle.

Quinn and Olivia both struggle with issues tied to their fathers, though in different ways, these challenges prevent them from fully embracing themselves and their desires. Quinn is determined not to become his father, while Olivia is so focused on meeting her father’s expectations that she sacrifices her own needs, ultimately doing herself a disservice.

Typically, it’s the male character who avoids commitment or emotional attachment, but in this case, it’s the female character keeping her distance.

Olivia, a female CEO, faces misogynistic men daily. She believes allowing Quinn to defend her would undermine her image as a strong, capable boss and weaken her ability to run her father’s company in the eyes of these men.

The spice was intense, featuring impact play, knife play, bondage, and plenty of degradation—it was delectable. This book delivered relatable characters, an insightful look into the D/s dynamic, and a solid plot. Without a doubt, it’s absolutely worth the read.

WS Greer has done it again!
I swear the books this man writes are top tier! Each of his FMCs I have been able to relate to and have found the same words I have thought written on the page before me. And that is no exception with Left of the Slash.

Olivia is the closest I have ever related to one of his FMCs. I mean it was like my exact thoughts were written on the page when she described her last relationship and her experience with fake doms. And Quinn 🥵 he comes off as a cocky, arrogant, ahole, and to the outside world he is. He is someone who knows what he wants and when he wants it. He doesn't take no for an answer and certainly doesn't back down from a challenge.  He is the definition of touch her and die, even when she isn't his.

The scenes in this book are just yes please! I mean the first time ever is in her office, talk about HOT. That and the fact that this man is willing to learn and doesn't get offended when she corrects him. Its incredible how well he is able to read her body and how well she is able to allow him the space to become the "perfect" dom for her all while finding who he truly is and pushing her limits to do the same. Because while she may know what she wants and who she is as a boss, her daddy issues run deeper than even she thinks they do.  And just like any good dom would, Quinn helps her realize this, though not in the way you'd expect.

I loved getting to read this book and getting to experience the world that Greer is able to create in such a small amount of time. Once again proving why he is an auto buy / read author for me.

I was so excited to dive into Quinn and Olivia’s story. Olivia is such a dynamic character, I enjoyed that she was a bada** in the office who is independent and wanting to continue her father’s legacy, but she also has a softer side where she wants to feel taken care of. Then there’s Quinn, watching how he struggles with what happened with his father and creating a different life for himself. From chapter one, I love how he always stood up for what he believed was right. Their journeys were hard fought and so worth it. The tension and buildup were so well done, and the spice was off the charts. WS Greer writes the best BDSM scenes I’ve read, and I liked that this book delved into the not-so-great side of the D/s dynamic as well as explored their relationship in a healthy way.

I was turning the pages furiously as the tension kept mounting between the two. It was also a great setting that dove into what women face in a misogynistic workplace. I know a lot of women in my family who have faced the same daily struggles that Olivia was facing. There should be a lot more Quinns out there for sure. As with all my reviews, I recommend reading trigger warnings to make sure the book is the right fit for you. But as for me, I will be rereading this book again in the near future because I don’t want to say goodbye to the characters.

I've read a few W.S. Greer books and I have to say this blew me away!! I live and breathe the BDSM lifestyle and I've never known a man write this so well as W.S, this was absolutely fantastic.

Left of the Slash follows Quinn and Olivia who both struggle with issues tied to their families especially Daddy issues, though in different ways. Quinn is determined not to turn out like his father, while Olivia is so focused on not destroying her father's company. So when Olivia sees the Dominant side in Quinn she instantly wants to bring that side of him out.....even though he knows nothing of the BDSM community she's willing to help and teach him.....but she doesn't want the full commitment with regards to feelings so can Quinn commit to that? Or will it all fall apart before it even starts between them? I loved how Olivia had to work to not crumble under the misogynistic men who she worked with while also showing she was a strong woman while being at work and showing them who was boss....plus then to give all her submission over to Quinn was something special to read.

I absolutely fell in love with the BDSM scenes in this they were written so well...the spice was off the scale hot 🔥 I loved the St Andrews Cross scene 🥵 this had a solid plot line along with the smut it's without a doubt worth the read.

**ARC REVIEW**

Left of the Slash by W.S. Greer was such an incredible read! The character development and emotional depth were perfectly executed, and the Dom/sub dynamic was written with such care and authenticity. The plot and tension kept me hooked from start to finish.

The story follows Olivia Lucero, a fierce and ambitious CEO trying to hold her company together in a male-dominated industry, and Quinn, the younger employee promoted to her executive team who quickly becomes entangled in both her world and her rules.

Olivia is a strong, independent, and unapologetically fierce Latina heroine—and I absolutely loved her. The chemistry between Olivia and Quinn is undeniable; their dynamic within the BDSM relationship is both powerful and beautifully portrayed. And the spice? Sizzling. 🔥

I loved watching both characters grow throughout the story, both individually and together. The ending was deeply satisfying and wrapped everything up perfectly.

This is definitely a must-read for anyone who loves an emotional, spicy office romance with real heart and heat.

Thank you WS Greer and The Author Agency for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

You need to add this one to your TBR ASAP because W.S. Greer has done it again!

Every single release from him blows me away. He’s honestly the only male romance author I’ll read without even checking the blurb first because I know he’s going to deliver the perfect mix of spice, emotion and angst and Left of the Slash is no exception.

I absolutely loved Quinn and Olivia’s story. Their dynamic? Perfection! By day, she’s his boss - total powerhouse CEO energy - but by night? Let’s just say the tables turn and it’s divine! Olivia’s this fierce boss babe who knows how to take control, but also craves someone who can take care of her for a change… and Quinn? Oh, he understands the assignment.

Both of them have their own struggles, but together they bring out the best in each other, and watching that unfold was just so satisfying.

I don’t want to spoil anything, but trust me when I say this one hits every note - steamy, emotional, and full of that tension we live for. Add it to your list, like, yesterday.

WS Greer has easily become my favorite male romance author. This book was HOT🥵 and the pages could not turn fast enough.

Olivia is the definition of HBIC and is used to men treating her as less than, especially now that she’s become CEO of her father’s company. We soon learn that Olivia has a dark side to her, one that desires release and being able to let go of her dominating day to day.

In comes Quinn, who just got promoted to executive in the company and the chemistry between him and Olivia is sizzling from the start, before it even really sizzles. Quinn is the definition of a real man. No toxic masculinity, no ego stroking, no misogyny to be found. A gentleman willing to listen and learn from a woman who knows what she wants.

Their dynamic and relationship was so much fun to explore, this book was intoxicating, and Greer does it again!!

This is a very interesting book. We have an older submissive woman (35) and younger (27) dominate man. Quinn works for Olivia. In fact he was just promoted before she began working there. Olivia inherited her father’s company and decided to run it. However, the company is sinking fast. Olivia trusts Quinn to help her fix the problems in the company. As they tackle the problems, they acknowledge the darkness in each other. Soon these two are in a very sexy scene in her office. However, these two although the crave the same kind of sexual relationship. Olivia needs to help Quinn realize his potential as a Dom, since he has the strength, dominance and power but not the knowledge. It’s a very refreshing story having a couple have a Dom/sub relationship in the bedroom but a very different dynamic when at work since she was his book and he did respect her. Great story. I loved the spice and the complex characters.

This book took me THROUGH IT!! The dynamic between Q and Olivia was utterly captivating! Seeing these two grow not only together, but separately was alluring. Both coming from grief and trauma with their fathers, but in totally different ways was so beautifully written. Embracing themselves and loving who they are before loving someone else is a lesson none of us wants to learn, but Will wrote it so enchantingly that you can’t help but root for both of them. Then the Dom/sub aspect of it all… literally had me in a chokehold (or maybe that was Q) either way, the D/s goes beyond just the bedroom and we were taken on a journey exploring that. I loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND of this book and couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.

Left of the Slash - Highly Recommend

This book was beautifully written. I could feel the emotions woven through every page. The characters pulled me in right away, and I found myself deeply connected to their journeys. Quinn’s growth into his Dom role was powerful and compelling, while Olivia’s transformation was inspiring. Watching her step into her own strength and finally choose to live for herself was one of my favorite parts.

The confidence that builds within her throughout the story is magnetic, and the chemistry between the characters is unforgettable. The spicy scenes were amazing, balanced perfectly with the emotional depth of the narrative. And that ending? Absolutely satisfying without giving too much away.

Overall, this is a story that blends growth and empowerment in a way that stays with you long after you finish. Highly recommend!

My first book by this author and it does not disappoint. In the beginning it was a little bit hard for me to get into, but the more I read, the more I got into it and ended up loving the story. It is a very well written story and the characters were amazing. I very much liked the dynamics between Quinn and Olivia. I also found it rather intriguing that it was the female character who was hesitant about commitment versus the male. And of course the anti-hero MMC was done perfectly. Plus the title suits the contents within this book. The spice was on point and the ending was well done.

I never think he can top his last book AND THEN I AM WRONG AGAIN!
How he words things and the phrases he uses are creative and so captivating! Makes you want to read faster than you already are!!! I love the banter/how the two main characters speak to each other are great; so relatable in my own marriage. Being so comfortable and playful with your partner.
I do not want to give anything away, but you are in alllll the feelings. He puts you through all of them throughout and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
When I thought one thing was going to happen. I was incorrect.
Keeps you on your toes.
Ending. CHEF. KISS.

Talk about tension, power, and heat! This dark, addictive romance pulls you right in from page one. If you love stories filled with dominance, desire, and characters that blur the line between power and vulnerability this one’s for you.

Quinn is hands down one of my favorite MMCs from WS Greer. This man knows how to take care of his woman and protect her but don’t be fooled, he’s got some dark desires simmering beneath the surface.

Olivia is a total badass strong, independent, and fierce yet she knows exactly when to surrender to her Dom. The chemistry between them is explosive and their dynamic is everything I crave.

Well Mr. Greer, you’ve done it again!!!! Can I just say how refreshing it is to see a character that isn’t afraid of a powerful woman??? All the freaking snaps for you!

Olivia is such a badass and I hate how much she had to deal with from her male coworkers. I mean just cause you have a 🍆 doesn’t mean you have to act like one. 🙄 Enter in Quinn. The perfect counterpart for Olivia. He’s not intimidated by her and he actually helps her make the company better and catch the one sabotaging.

I’ve read every WS book and this is by far my favorite, and that’s saying something because I LOVED AGGGTD. 😍 well done, and I can’t wait to read what’s next!!!

WS Greer will always have me reading his books. His books might be dark, might include triggers, but he is always respectful and really understands writing about women. This story was incredible! I loved the woman in power and that you see what women deal with as a result. Quinn was perfect in the sense that he stood up for her not just because she was his boss, but because he knew that the was she was being treated had to do with her being a woman not because she couldn’t handle the job. Their chemistry and the spice was off the charts. I can’t wait to see what WS Greer comes out with next!

Had the pleasure to arc read this book and it did not disappoint. I’ve read other books from the author and was excited to see how smooth and easy reading this one was. The story was easy to understand and to follow as we get to see the character’s growths, developments and depth. You get everything from plot, tension, spice (Quinn was so incredibly smooth, I was melting!) and Olivia just a strong, badass Latina that you can’t help but love her. The story and the dynamics were so relatable and loved how the story all comes together in the end. Definitely a must read!

I think I say this with every book from W.S., but he’s done it again! I fell in love with Quinn and his personal growth and acceptance. The overall character development throughout the story is fantastic. I refuse to spoil this for anyone, just know it’s definitely worth the hype!! The story line is there, the character growth is there, and of course the spice is there. I’ve been a big fan and have followed this W.S. for a while now. You can clearly tell he has poured his love into these characters and it’s truly beautiful.

I enjoyed meeting Olivia and Quinn. Such dynamic and real characters.

It showed the struggles from professional and personal.
We get to learn about a "lifestyle" right along side Quinn!
Living vicariously through him and Olivia.

It also showed the cutthroat world of business.

I loved the values Quinn's father instilled in him!
I would hope more fathers would do the same.
Olivia's and Quinn's fathers were definitely not in the majority I fear!

This story held my interest throughout!

Emotional.
Steamy.
Intense.

I highly recommend it!

Good recommended book!

First time reading this author. This book was recommended in a group chat for a monthly read, and I must say I enjoyed the book. It was not just wham bam thank you ma'am, but you learned some things about how BDSM works. Thanks for the information. It had a great storyline with Quinn and Olivia. Olivia had the need to control in all aspects of life even though she was submissive she kept trying to control not falling in love until Q stepped on the scene with his dominant personality and said no ma'am! HE DOES IT AGAIN

NO SPOILERS

I loved left of the slash. For someone who likes learning more about the culture, I can always look forward to books from this author. He always gives more information than you could ever need while also making it fun to read about.

Left of the Slash is the real and nitty gritty of what a D/S relationship could be and how to fix the issues that may come. The characters are well written and probably my favorite of this author.

You will love every minute you spend reading this book.

This book was so good and totally worth the wait. I love when BDSM stories are told where the sub introduces the Dom to the Lifestyle and Left Of the Slash gives us just that. I also love seeing the MMC navigate figuring out who he is while growing. This book was written so well and has a little of everything for everyone. My only critique is the over use of "c*ck" it gets very repetition and I wish "d*ck" was mixed in some.
