The fourth (and final) installment in The Thorpe Sisters series...

Phyllis Thorpe
is the youngest of four sisters and has spent her entire life living under their shadow. From being a little girl, she always had them around to look after her, to play with, to inspire her.

But one by one, the girls start to leave Thorpe Hall to start their own lives, leaving Phyllis behind, and the cottage has never felt so empty.

Reader, you may know her fate but do you know her history?

After finishing this book I can actually say it was my favourite. Phyllis is the last book in the thorpe sisters novellas and I can say it got me so emotional.

Faith has written this series so perfectly and I felt such a strong connection to all the sisters! Each individual sister has such amazing depth into their character and I honestly think Faith has such a strong point of writing historical novellas and pulling you in!

After knowing what happens to Phyllis throughout the series reading her book knowing the outcome was so emotional and Faith was really able to bring that out of the book.

I really enjoy when faith refers to the reader as it adds such a personalisation to the story and it really drives home the timing of these novellas!

I highly recommend reading this series as it really has become one of my favourite series of all time!

MY FAVOURITE BOOK IN THE THORPE SISTERS SERIES!!!!

oh my god it felt so good to be back in this world after reading books 1-3! I could already feel that it was going to be a little heavier I won’t say why because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read it but if you know you know.

I loved getting snippets of what we already knew happened but from Phyllis’ perspective and then the addition of new information from Phyllis was so well balanced.

Can we all agree that Nathaniel is a horrible person (but written purposely to be that way which made him the perfect villain for this series)

I actually love Phyllis so much!!! The scene talking about the soup kitchen was so wholesome and the way she talks about helping others who need it filled my heart with so much joy she is just such a wonderful character.

I had to take a couple of hours after reading that last chapter and epilogue because wow.. I cried my eyes out. I’ve built such a connection to these characters but to go through the events through Phyllis’ perspective has been my favourite of them all! The ending although I knew it was coming from the previous books, I was not prepared for that. Definitely my favourite book of the series!!! Well done Faith you’ve truly written a masterpiece.

Phyllis’ book is book four of the Thorpe sisters series by Faith Fawcett. A group of novellas written back in the Regency era - think Bridgerton but for teens.

The stories are told in third person, much like someone telling you a story rather than you reading it yourself!

Upon reading the first three books in the series; Felicity, Adelaide and Kitty, they all touch upon subjects that were hard during those times, and if you have read those books much like I have then you know full well how this story will end.

What an emotional rollercoaster this book took me on, reading about a young girl at the age of five, grow through life with older siblings. There was a sense of loneliness in this book but there were some happy moments too.

This is the first book that has ever made me cry and it was that very last chapter that really tugged on my heartstrings, but as painful as it was to read (in an emotional way) I’m so glad I pushed on through it.

This was SUCH a good book! I may or may not have cried at the end. This series was so amazing, and in my opinion every book has gotten better!

Shout out to the character development as it was great.

Phyllis was such a good character and her growth was immaculate. I won’t give much away but I think the author note at the end says a lot, and you’ll know what I mean when you read it, as you should.

Well done Faith!

Honestly what a beautiful book with a beautiful story! Easily a 5 star read. Seeing it from Phyllis’ perspective brought a whole different spin on the stories we heard about in books 1-3. I honestly couldn’t put this book down, from start to finish you got all of the emotions and it really did feel like reading a journal, or as if us, the reader, was there living it besides them.
This is a book I will always recommend to others. Truly beautiful
