A sensual and fun collection of stories!
Five carefully crafted stories that follow the adventures of different women. Each one erotic or sensual in theme, with a range of characters and scenarios that brought fun and flirty moments, deeper more meaningful moments, and exploration.
I loved each one of the stories, as in their own way they were unique. The women who were typically the main characters were on a journey, really discovering or finding out who they were or what boundaries they could push. With the right help, they were achieving all sorts, living out dreams, exploring fantasies, and just free to have fun and be who they really were. It was enlightening and each story brought a new sense of excitement and anticipation.
There really was something for everyone, and lots to discover and explore! As with any short story collection, these are great to revisit, and read if you do not have much time. I highly recommend this collection.

A Workplace encounter between three very different women, but when they come together (pun intended) they erase all their differences and replace them with pleasure. This story is pure fantasy and it’s fantastic.
Watching:
This short has it all. Age gap, 1st person pov, it’s Sensual, Sexy, and Deep in more ways than one. It’s deliciously intense and satisfying.

This Work rivals, only one apartment extravaganza has fire meets ice vibes, you’ll have to read it to see if it buns to the ground or is frozen over. But don’t forget that ice and fire can both burn.
Peep Show:
An accidental but consensual act of voyeurism leads to a lone night shift workers fantasy coming true. The reader gets two scenes in this short and my oh my are they hot.
Blast from the past:
-Takes us back to The Club and I could not be happier about that. This sexy age-gap is all about trust and knowing that you have enough control in order to be able to give it up. Safe sex is the theme throughout and let me tell you it is hot as hell.
I loved every story for different reasons, the characters are great and you get just enough of a peak into their lives to be able to relate which only enhances the main event.
Be warned this is not safe for work, well unless you’re a dare devil like me! There’s something for everyone, it’s a collection of beautiful sapphics of different ages, shapes and sizes.
Another fabulously written Brooks book that I’ll revisit again and again.

I am a big fan of A.L. Brooks The Club and was so excited to hear of her latest erotic anthology Liberation. This book contains 5 short but very hot stories of sapphic women experiencing the freedom that comes with exploring and embracing their sexual desires. And we get to come along for the ride!
There is a little bit of something for everyone here, from voyeurism in Peep Show, to self pleasuring in Watching. Each nugget of a story is a quick and steamy read, but with its own plot and relatable (and lovable!) characters. The last chapter took me back to The Club for a quick reminder of why A.L. Brooks writes erotica so well.
This is perfect for readers wanting a quick erotic escape and I enjoyed every chapter. A great addition to any sapphic library!

Five short and spicy sapphic stories! I really enjoyed this. It was great to get five completely different stories. Each written in a unique way. Varying between first and third person, single and two POV’s. It also covered an array of different tropes, Workplace Romance, Age gaps 12-24 years, Ice Queen, Mature FMC’s (40s plus), Plus Sized Rep. Also lots of different kinks 😈

liberation is a sizzling, well-crafted collection of sapphic short stories that delivers both emotional depth and seriously high heat. even though i read it a month ago, what sticks with me is just how well-written each piece was. the prose is sharp, the pacing tight, and the chemistry between characters leaps off the page.
the standout for me was the story featuring two workplace rivals. the tension, banter, and the eventual release were perfection. i genuinely need that story expanded into a full-length novel.
this was my first read by a.l. brooks, and it served as an excellent intro to her style. i'll definitely be exploring more of her work after this.

Liberation is a collection of short stories that will light your insides on fire ( in the best way possible). This book could be read in one sitting but I challenge you to read one story every night before bed. Just take your time and savor every delicious detail in every story told by A.L. Brooks. By the way if you decide you like this book you must read The Club😏

Brooks writes spice so damn well and this new collection of short stories doesn’t disappoint. Centered around women who have been holding back in some way, Liberation contains 5 distinct vignettes of women letting go in the most glorious and hot ways possible. One of the things I love about Brooks’ erotic stories is that they are really great fully fleshed-out stories first and foremost - in a very short time you get to know the characters, minimally the protagonist, well enough that the scene is believable. And then you layer in the sex and get exquisitely written scenes that are self contained but leave you wanting more. I would be very happy to read a longer form piece about any of these pairings (ahem, groupings) to see where it goes next, but am also very satisfied with the window into these worlds.

General Thoughts
This is a really great collection of sapphic erotica short stories. Each story has a different setup; though they all have one thing in common: they’re sapphic and spicy. I appreciated that each story had enough information going into it that I didn’t feel just tossed into the spice. There was enough context for me to have a decent understanding of the characters and the dynamic involved. Additionally, all of the stories (and the spice) felt different enough to not feel repetitive. The spice is as varied as the stories, which helped keep my interest even if some of the spice wasn’t 100% to my personal tastes, there is definitely something for everyone~ (And well written!)
Final Thoughts
This was my first introduction to this author and color me intrigued… I’d like to read more works by A.L. Brooks in the future. I thought this collection was really well done and felt cohesive while still being varied. If you’re looking for some sapphic, spicy short stories, this collection is definitely worth a look.

Picture the scene, cold and rainy autumn day, just finished my book and decided I wanted something quick and easy to read so I picked this one from my TBR. I’ve loved previous books by Brooks so thought I’d finally push it up the list.
