Good book, but I don't feel like this is for me at the moment. 😅 Sounded good at the time I downloaded it, but now I can't give it my full attention, and I kinda dread having to read this. L me, lol, because it's actually quite interesting! 😂🤦‍♀️ That's what I get for waiting so long to read it.

Quick Take Review 💥:

A thriller packed with twists, some predictable, and a cast of unreliable, untrustworthy characters. The smooth writing and steady pacing make it an enjoyable read, even if it doesn’t quite reach the level of exceptional.

In Depth Review 👇

Summary 📖:

Engineer Talia Danver builds algorithms for a high-end dating app, but when it comes to her own love life, the code has never quite worked. That is, until she unexpectedly reconnects with Townsend, the one who got away.

Or more accurately, the one who left her for someone else.

Townsend insists he’s changed, and Talia wants desperately to believe him. But believing him comes with complications, like the fact that he’s the prime suspect in the disappearance of Amanda Reade, the very woman who broke them up in the first place. And in cases like these, it’s usually the boyfriend.

At least that’s what Amanda’s sister, Kaitlyn, believes. Talia’s sharp-eyed coworker, Meera Ratnam, agrees, and she’s willing to risk everything to stop Talia from making a deadly mistake.

Then the messages start.

Threatening texts; from Amanda’s phone.

But that’s impossible. Amanda is missing… or dead. So who’s sending them? Is Amanda still alive, or is someone playing a twisted, dangerous game with Talia, and how far will it go?

Writing 📝:

Corinne Sullivan’s writing is really engaging and easy to get into. Everything flows smoothly, so it never feels confusing or hard to follow. The pacing feels natural, and it’s easy to stay invested in what’s happening. Sullivan also does a great job bringing the settings and different situations to life without overloading you with details. It’s descriptive enough to paint a clear picture, but still light and easy to read, which makes the whole experience really enjoyable.

Thoughts 💭:

“Whoever said truth is a deep kindness clearly didn’t understand female friendships.”

I’ll be honest, based on the summary, I really wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. I didn’t dislike it per se, but it definitely didn’t live up to the expectations I had going in.

I really enjoyed how the prologue grabbed my attention right away. You can tell one of the main characters is in some kind of dangerous situation, but it doesn’t give away too much. It’s just vague enough that you’re left wondering who it is and what’s actually going on. That mystery pulled me in and made me want to keep reading to find out what happens next.

Talia and Townsend reunite in Chapter One, and it immediately made me more curious about what’s going on between them and where things might lead. It’s not like think escalate the second they see each other again, but their reunion definitely gets things moving and sets the tone for what’s ahead.

The chapter length also made this book really easy to fly through. They weren’t super short, but they never dragged either, they felt just right. I never felt stuck in a chapter, which made it way easier to keep turning the pages.

“It’s like sitting in the passenger seat of a car that’s destined to crash; there’s nothing she can do but brace for impact.”

There’s honestly nothing worse than chapters that go on forever. For me, once a chapter creeps past ten pages, it starts to feel unnecessary. These were the perfect length; enough to get something done, but not so long that I felt trapped.

One thing I love about thrillers is getting just enough information to try and piece the mystery together on my own. I like picking up on little hints and clues along the way, trying to figure out how everything will unfold before it’s revealed. In this case, though, it felt like the reader was handed all the answers practically outright. There wasn’t much room to guess or theorize, everything was basically spelled out for us. That took away a lot of the fun for me and made the experience feel pretty underwhelming. I didn’t need the author to hold my hand through it all, but thats pretty much exactly what she did.

Overall, the pacing of the plot was really well done. Nothing ever felt dragged out or slow, but it also never felt rushed or skimmed over. The story maintained a steady, natural flow from start to finish. Sometimes in the middle of a book, things can hit a lull and feel like they’ll never pick back up, but that never happened here, which was a big plus for me.

“Clearly, she needs Townsend to shut her up for good.”

The flashbacks that were sprinkled throughout the story were really well placed and never made the plot feel messy or confusing. They blended in naturally, sliding in and out of the timeline smoothly without making anything feel jarring.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I didn’t trust a single person in this book. They were all so unreliable in their own way. Every character felt capable of doing something seriously shiesty, and I loved that. I really enjoy thrillers where you can’t quite tell who’s good, who’s bad, or who’s hiding something. When everyone feels like a suspect, the stakes automatically feel higher, the tension builds, and that’s when the story really starts to get fun.

The characters in this one were a bit hit or miss for me, which honestly felt fine. I think that’s how it’s supposed to be in books. Sometimes when you like every single character in a book, it can get pretty boring. Having a mix keeps things interesting and makes the story feel more real. So, Sullivan got that part right. I was pleased with that aspect of the book.

“Men don’t know how lucky they are, to be able to run alone whenever they want without fearing for their lives.”

Talia is (more or less) the main character throughout the story, and unfortunately, I didn’t connect with her very much. She came across as a bit naive, letting her feelings for Townsend blind her to all the obvious red flags. Despite the way he treated her, she wanted (and ultimately took) him back, which made most of her decision making skills feel frustrating and, honestly, a little silly to me.

Meera wasn’t terrible, but I could never fully get on board with her. I understand that she was trying to be a good best friend; even if her approach was, at times, overbearing. She wasn’t exactly off-putting; she just never quite won me over either. My feelings toward her are hard to pin down. Overall, though, she was probably my favorite character.

I felt similarly about Amanda’s sister, Kaitlyn. As a sibling, I can absolutely sympathize with her. I would do anything to find my brother if he went missing. But I struggled with the way Kaitlyn handled things. She publicly accused Townsend online without any concrete evidence tying him to Amanda’s disappearance. Most of what she had was circumstantial, filtered through her own suspicions and experiences. It felt reckless, like she was willing to destroy his life based on assumptions rather than proof.

“Leave me the fuck alone, or I will make you leave me alone.”

As for Townsend, he immediately gave me the ick. He was a walking red flag, and I do mean the brightest shade of red. Honestly, the name Townsend alone feels like a warning sign.

And Amanda? Don’t even get me started. She was the absolute worst, she’s so awful she had me ready to flip a damn table. Just thinking about her makes me cringe. Yuck.

The multiple points of view worked really well in this book. I enjoyed getting inside the heads of all the key players, and each character felt distinct with their own personality. While each chapter is labeled with the character’s POV, it honestly didn’t even feel necessary, Sullivan did such a good job making each one feel like their own person. Writing from multiple perspectives can easily get confusing, or make characters start to blend together, but I was impressed with how smoothly the author handled it.

This book promises plenty of twists, and it delivers to an extent, but unfortunately, a lot of it was fairly predictable. Many of the twists that were meant to be shocking ended up having a surprisingly soft landing. Some of the big reveals felt like letdowns, which was disappointing and pulled me out of the tension and atmosphere the plot had built.

That, combined with the fact that much of the information was essentially handed to me through a PowerPoint presentation, were the only reasons I didn’t rate this book a bit higher.

That said, I have to admit the subtle twist at the end genuinely caught me off guard, which was a nice surprise.

Can we talk about the name Townsend for a second? I just could not get on board with it. For some reason, it drove me crazy the entire time I was reading. I don’t know why, but it just wasn’t working for me. No offense at all to anyone named Townsend, it’s nothing personal! It just didn’t click for me in this book. Maybe because to me it sounds more like a last name than a first name.

Final Verdict ⚖️

[ ] You NEED to read this book! DO IT!

[✅] You won’t regret picking up this book but also won’t regret it if you don’t.

[ ] Don’t make the same mistake that I did. DO NOT read this book!

Just a reminder: reading is totally subjective, and that’s what makes it so great. What speaks to one person might not to another, and that’s okay. There's never a reason to put someone down for loving a book you didn’t vibe with or vice versa. Be kind, the world is already cruel enough. 😊

I would like to thank Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book.

This is my voluntary, unbiased, and honest review.

i'm always disappointed whenever a mystery/thriller book ends up being predictable. it's one thing for the reveal to make sense according to all the hints scattered throughout the book, but i don't like being spoon-fed things without being allowed to come up with my own alternative theories. the hints scream in your face, and it makes it hard to even try to uncover the mystery yourself.

the characters are.....Something, for sure. no one here is likeable. meera is the one who has the most going on for her and you want to root for her because life keeps kicking her while she's down, but then she makes decisions that make it hard to properly root for her. townsend is just your typical insufferable tech bro, but he was written like that on purpose, so that's fine.

i think there was a LOT of exposition that wasn't done in the most engaging way. it felt a bit info dump-y, and it just felt like there was someone nudging me to remember it for later. i would've rather have it be more subtle.

thank you so much to NetGalley and the author for allowing me a copy of this super fun and thrilling book in exchange for an honest review <3

Corinne Sullivan had my trust issues working overtime with this book. every single character in Yours Truly made my internal alarm bells ring; even the ones who seemed harmless. i went in with my usual mantra when reading books like this: “not a single person or narrator can be trusted and i will not let anybody fool me.” and oh, i was right to be suspicious.

the story is told through four different POVs and each one is unreliable in its own unique way. every character filters reality through their emotions, fears and self-justifications. its incredibly fascinating (and unsettling) to watch how differently they each perceive the same events. i loved how it kept me guessing and constantly trying to figure out who was lying, who was delusional and who was the most reliable narrator or person.

and when the truth finally comes out and all the puzzle pieces start fitting together? oh, it was brilliant and a little stressful. having everything slowly make sense and the dread of what it all meant for the guilty party was very well done.

it was clever, tense and full of unreliable chaos. Yours Truly was the kind of book that had me reading it in every free moment i could find because i was dying to know how it ended.

In the past, Talia Danvers and Townsend Fuller dated until one day she walked in and found him in bed with Amanda Reade. Talia works as an engineer for a dating app and is still trying to find someone to spend her life with. She bumps into Townsend on the lake in Austin. He invites her to go see the bats take flight at sunset under the Congress Street bridge. She is lucky because it's a beautiful experience for her. When I was there they did not leave from under the bridge, so good for Talia that she got to experience this with Townsend. Townsend and Talia fall back into their old habits. He apologizes for cheating and she forgives him. Talia's co-worker Meera does not trust Townsend and she never misses and opportunity to let Talia know how she feels. Meanwhile one night while Townsend and Talia are together, there is a knock at the door. Two police officers are there to question Townsend because Amanda, the former lover has been reported missing by her sister, Kaitlyn and she is convinced Townsend is the culprit. Talia begins to receive frightening texts from Amanda and from that point on the book takes you on a twisty ride. Who is guilty? Who is following Talia? Is Amanda dead or alive? At one point in this book, I suspected every character and was surprised by the ending.
4.5 stars because I it would have enjoyed it even more without the tech talk. Overall a hard to put down psychological thriller that leaves you guessing until the end.

Tnx NetGalley & Thomas & Mercer for the arc!

This book was interesting enough to make me read it in one go. Talia, our FMC, felt like a good character... a bit too naive maybe. It felt like she really liked Townsend and even after he cheated, she still took him back. Ofc, this is all in the beginning... (ahemmm)

Now, Townsend…he started as a total red flag. From the first few chapters, you could tell something was off. Between the cheating and his sketchy startup, I had my doubts about him from the start. I knew it was too easy for him to be the criminal, but I also knew he wasn't a nice guy who made one dumb mistake.

The pacing was actually good, didn’t feel slow or draggy, it went straight through with steady suspense. There wasn’t really any romance, even though Talia and Townsend were back together, it was more about manipulation and mind games.

I loved the multiple POVs and the unreliable characters. The writing style was simple and easy to follow, which made it a super fast read. And that ending? Honestly, I didn’t see the end twist coming, even though I thought I had the story all figured out.

Overall, it’s an easy, quick psychological read, perfect if you’re in the mood for something twisty but not too heavy.

Solid Twists

At no point did I know who was guilty. I was only sure one person wasn't, and even that's a stretch. This was incredibly well done.

It took me a while to pick a book however once I noticed “Yours Always”, i knew right away that i want to read it.
The premise was intriguing and entertaining as I completely immersed myself into the story as i could not put down the book.
I enjoyed the multiple POV, mainly the interesting idea that once a character is introduced, next chapter starts with their POV by continuing the story. I liked that the author gives you clues so you can guess what’s happening but also keeps you doubting till the end.
I’m rating only 4 stars as the final twist of the book just did not make sense for me, like I get it- that’s the shocking part, but why would it ever happen? Also the behavior at the end of one character was just over the top… if the ending would be less telenovela type but kept more simple, it would’ve been 5 stars for me.

Overall, I can only recommend this book and looking forward reading more books by the author.

A big thank you to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It was a very interesting read that had you guessing who to trust. Many times, thrillers have a hard time making other people seem able to be criminals. I feel like the author did a great job of making everyone sem worthy. The multi povs was a nice way to see how it was through their eyes. It also was a fun way to see clues come in from each person.

this was very interesting. it was a very straightforward thriller, but what made the reading experience fulfilling was how you genuinely could not trust any one.

my guess about the twist turned out to be right, but it was not guess founded on predictability. it was just a guess from watching and reading so many thrillers and mysteries. the unpredictability that sullivan constructs to keep the plot moving was well-done, and while i would have loved a more of a smoother flow in the story-telling, for lack of a better explanation, this was really good!!

This was a great read. I was able to get an arc off of NetGalley and it did not disappoint. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I liked the character development in each of the characters. I kept guessing who the killer was the whole time & then the ending with the twist really got me at the end. I wasn’t expecting it. I think it would have been better if the blurb for this story didn’t mention unreliable narrators, because that tells you right there that you won’t be able to believe everything you’re reading. I suppose the trick is for the reader to figure out who is unreliable and who is not, but seasoned readers won’t have a hard time with that.

Talia and Meera are female engineers for a dating app who have been friends for a few years when Talia reconnects with an old flame. Townsend cheated on her before with Amanda, who has now been labeled a missing person thanks to the concerns of her sister, Kaitlyn. Meera is frustrated that Talia’s making the same mistake twice, and Talia’s frustrated that Meera won’t give him a chance to prove he’s changed.

Now that Kaitlyn has reported Amanda missing, the police become involved and focus on Townsend. Then Talia receives threatening messages purporting to be from Amanda, and no one knows what to believe. Except, the author gives way too many clues throughout, and I knew both who the guilty party was and what the plan was. When everything is obviously pointing one way, it’s of course not going to be that obvious. That’s about all I can say without spoilers, but I wish that wasn’t the case because there are some serious flaws with the ending.

I like that the author was trying for something different, but it doesn’t work with all the loose threads still hanging out there at the end. Maybe if there were a sequel that explained what was going on for certain characters during certain periods, it would be better. Then questions could be answered and plot holes resolved, etc. But otherwise, it just doesn’t work.

The premise of Yours Always had me curious right away, second-chance romance meets possible-murder suspect? I had to see where it would go.

Yours Always is one of those twisty, “who can I actually trust here?” thrillers that leans hard into messy relationships and bad decisions. We’re following Talia, an engineer for a high-end dating app who hasn’t exactly nailed her own love life. When she reconnects with Townsend, the ex who left her for someone else, it already feels like a bad idea… and then you add in the fact that he’s the prime suspect in the disappearance of Amanda, the woman he left her for. As Talia tries to convince herself that Townsend has changed, Amanda’s sister is certain he’s guilty, Talia’s coworker is quietly investigating on the side, and creepy texts start coming in from Amanda’s phone. At that point, it’s less “second chance romance” and more “am I sleeping next to a murderer?”

What I liked most was the vibe, slick dating-app world meets old-money Austin, with this slow, creeping sense that everyone is holding something back. The unreliable narrator angle is fun, no one feels fully trustworthy, and I really enjoyed trying to figure out who was lying, who was in denial, and who was actually dangerous. The menacing messages, the blurred lines between love and obsession, and the way the story plays with that “it’s always the boyfriend” idea all kept me intrigued.

However, there were a few points where I felt like we circled the same emotional beats, Talia doubting herself, then convincing herself, then doubting again, which made the middle drag a bit. I also would’ve loved a touch more depth from some of the side characters, especially given how much they factor into the mystery. That said, the overall mix of toxic romance and psychological tension meshed well, and the ending has that satisfying, slightly unhinged punch I like from this kind of thriller.

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the ARC.

This book follows Talia Danvers, a brilliant tech professional whose personal life is far less streamlined than the systems she builds. When an old flame reappears, their reunion quickly becomes tangled in the unresolved disappearance of a woman connected to both of them. As unsettling messages begin arriving and suspicions shift from one person to the next, the narrative grows increasingly tense. The author structures the story through several viewpoints, each coloured by its own biases and blind spots, creating a maze of conflicting interpretations that keeps the reader questioning every assumption. The result is a psychological puzzle driven by shifting loyalties and buried motives.

What makes the book especially gripping is the way each chapter deepens the uncertainty. Every character feels capable of deception, and the steady drip of new information constantly reshapes the reader’s understanding of what truly happened. The momentum stays sharp, the mood carries a constant edge of tension, and each reveal is delivered with striking accuracy By the time the final reveal arrives, the story has built to a sharp, satisfying conclusion that rewards careful attention. Readers who enjoy thrillers built on unreliable perspectives and escalating tension will find this one hard to put down. It leans toward the predictable at times and features a cast that’s not always easy to warm to, but it still delivers an engaging and satisfying read overall.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts and review:

I read Yours Always in one sitting; I could not put it down for anything. From the start, I was sucked in and couldn't do anything until I knew what happened. I was at the point of no sleeping until I had all the answers!

This story is so engaging and compelling that I couldn't turn away. The unreliability and obsession of each female character: Talia, Amanda, Amanda's sister, Talia's best friend, and even Townsend's mother are just like a siren song calling the reader to just keep turning pages.

With each chapter, I thought I knew the end, and with each chapter, that changed into a new theory. Even when I got to the end and was told the truth, I still questioned whether I was being tricked. I don't think that I have ever enjoyed being strung along and confused in a book as much as I did with this one.

2.5⭐️ rounded. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of this one. I was intrigued by the premise, and it did grab me right away, but I just couldn’t stay in it. In a mystery/thriller I think I prefer to be given juuuust enough as to where I have to try to put things together on my own. I felt like this author was almost spoon-feeding the information, giving away too much to be able to formulate any of my own thoughts or theories. It made it predictable in a way that took the fun out of it. It’s a bummer because I liked the idea and the multiple POVs, but the execution just left so little for the reader to have to figure out on their own. I do think there is an audience for this style of writing, but I am just not in it.

That said, I do really want to thank NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the opportunity to read this eARC. Even though it wasn’t a favorite for me, I think there will be many fans out there for this one!

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Because of the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book.

The writing is fine, the author able to keep me guessing until the end. The characters aren't likeable, but they are interesting enough not to hate reading.

I wanted to hate rich boy Townsend, but nothing about him was atypical. Meera and Talia are friends through their work as engineers at a dating app called Cuff in Austin, Texas. Townsend fxcked around with a young woman named Amanda Reade, who goes missing. There are still some unanswered questions, by the end, but almost everyone is somewhat unhinged. I am not sure that its cool to paint women as these obsessed, stalker-y characters- but it was over a basic white man named Townsend??

3.5 stars but rounding up!

EVERYONE deserved to be put away in this book. This was the kind of story where you trust no one because all the characters are shady and treat each other horribly.

This was a fun dating app thriller with multiple POVs. Talia meets Townsend through a dating app only to catch him cheating on her one day. But when they meet again, Talia gives him another chance. *** I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t give anyone with the name Townsend a first chance to begin with***

When the other woman ends up as a missing person and presumed dead, Talia and Townsend begin to receive threatening messages through the dating app and being stalked. Talia doesn’t know who to trust: the man that cheated on her or the man who swore has changed.

By: Corinne Sullivan
Pub Date: April 1, 2026
Publisher: Thomas & Mercer

My first book by this author and the story-line kept me turning the pages, so many crazy scenarios/twists.

My Texas heart loved this book, as it mentions Austin, Georgetown, the BATS, I-35 expansion (always under construction), UT and obsession. I live close to Austin and Georgetown.

Told in several POV’s you need to pay attention and what you think happen, has you second guessing yourself at every TURN! I know when people witness the same event they each have their own perspective based on their emotions and own past.

OBSESSION, trust, twists and characters along with the familiar grounds to me make this one so much fun. I highly recommend it.

This novel about the dangers of online dating has some things going for it. It’s timely. The characters are well-drawn and believable (albeit mostly drab). The storyline is compelling. The tension is taut. The pacing is just right.

The big problem with the read is an overabundance of exposition from the omniscient narrator. Fiction readers don’t want to be told how characters think or why they do what they do; we want to be shown. We see the characters more vividly through their words and actions than we do by the narrator explaining their thought processes and motivations to us. And there’s just too many endless segments in this novel where the narrator goes on and on in telling instead of showing.

Yours Always was an intriguing and entertaining read that kept my attention from start to finish. It felt like a constant guessing game, which made it hard to put down.

The story is told through multiple points of view, which I thought was a great choice by the author. This approach helped keep the narrative engaging and allowed me to gradually learn more about each character and their motivations.

The plot was clever and well paced, with twists that genuinely surprised me. Just when I thought I had things figured out, the story took another turn.

Thank you to Amazon Publishing, Thomas & Mercer, MBC Books, and Corrine Sullivan for the eARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

What would you do if the one time love of your life showed up declaring that he had made a terrible mistake and wanted you back? And to what degree would the fact that the woman he left you for has mysteriously disappeared, and he is the primary suspect, affect your decision?

Your friends and family certainly believe that it should be a deal breaker! And that is the situation that this story's protagonist faces...

An entertaining thriller, this is worth reading and gets 3.5 stars.

I really wanted to love this one! The opening was great. Then once I got to know all the characters I realized I was
I was being spoon fed the information and that’s no way to read a thriller. I only finished ready to see if I was right. And I was. The intrigue was lost around the 50%mark unfortunately.
I would give this author another chance for sure but this book didn’t do it for me. Super grateful for Netgallley hooking me up with a prerelease copy. I wish I had a better end result, but honest is best!
