New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby returns to Triple Creek Ranch with a sizzling romance between a brooding ex–Secret Service agent and the president’s daughter he’s sworn to protect.
Five years ago, Secret Service Agent Gideon James took a bullet to protect me.
It haunts me every single day.
As the president’s daughter, my life has never truly been my own. But when a traitor in my security detail tries to kidnap me, Mom sends me to Montana—to the one man who’s never failed to keep me safe.
These days, Gideon runs an elite security training facility on his family ranch. He’s not exactly thrilled to see me, and his family trusts me even less. But during our intense self-defense sessions, something electric ignites between us. Those steel-gray eyes see past my title to who I really am. For the first time, I’m discovering my own strength—and a desire I can’t deny.
Just as I’m falling hard, betrayal strikes again, threatening everything Gideon and I have built. Now I must choose between protecting my heart and fighting for the man who’s always protected me—and the only place I’ve ever truly belonged.
Kristen Proby is a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of over seventy published titles. She debuted in 2012, captivating fans with spicy contemporary romance about families and friends with plenty of swoony love. She also writes paranormal romance and suggests you keep the lights on while reading them.
When not under deadline, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and their fur babies, riding her bike, relaxing with embroidery, trying her hand at painting, and, of course, enjoying her beautiful home in the mountains of Montana.
I liked the set up of the ex-secret service agent trying to move on after retirement, only to get sucked back into protecting the First Daughter when things get sticky. She comes to stay out at his ranch, for safety and for a bit of self defense training.
Nothing ever happened between Lena and Gideon when he was working for her mother, the Madame president of our story. However, she (Lena) gave him a run for his money and she was always trying to be independent and buck the system whenever she could. Though we do learn through the romance, that a lot of what Lena really wanted was just to live her own life.
It's been a few years since Gideon was guarding her and he has tried to move on. Things ended kind of traumatically with his position and he wants nothing to do with it all anymore. However, once she is on his ranch, he realizes how different she is now and how much what happened to him, his injury and retirement from the role, made her come to her senses and be smarter. Very nice to see that growth.
An enjoyable, if predictable romance from Kristen Proby. The dick is twitching too quickly and she is far to wet, far too quickly... but we all expect that at this point, right?
Dual narration by Sean Masters & Avery Caris, who do a great job!
4 Stars 3 on the spice scale

*Thank you to Must Love Audio and the author for an ALC of this title.*
Lena is the daughter of the US president, and when someone tries to kidnap her to get to her mom, they call the only person who kept her safe five years ago, the one who put his life in danger for her. Gideon. She has always had a crush on him, but she feels so guilty about what happened to him all those years ago, and she blames herself.
“I love you so much. Nothing works without you. I’ve been haunted by you, and I can’t stand the thought of being without you for another minute.”
When Gideon got injured five years ago, he couldn’t go back to what he was doing. Now he’s a retired lieutenant who lives on a ranch with his brother and best friend When the president calls him asking for a favor, he says yes, and now he has Lena at his ranch, protecting her and teaching her how to defend herself… and let’s say feelings definitely develop 😋
This book was a mix of everything!! I really enjoyed it. I loved the tension, the yearning, and the past between these two, it really added to both of their character development. and the added forbidden romance just made it even better
A really engaging second book. The five‑year jump works well, Gideon’s no longer the Secret Service agent who once took a bullet for Lena, but that history sits between them. When her life is threatened again, hiding out on his family ranch brings all the tension, protectiveness, and slow‑building chemistry.
It has that great mix of romance, suspense, betrayal, family tension, and all those ranch vibes that make the whole dynamic feel even more compelling. Lena and Gideon are both easy to root for, and I enjoyed watching them find their way back to each other.
4.75⭐️ | 3🌶 Another Kristen banger i finished in a day! The characters plots were so refreshing. I loved this one. It was so much fun, I deeply disliked everyone in Lena's circle because how could they do that?! Can't wait for what's next, thank you to Kristen & Team for the arc.
If Kristen writes it, I’m going to read it without a doubt. In the case of Safe Keeping, I could not wait to get my hands on this book, because I was so invested in Gideon’s story from Safe Haven, book one in the series.
And damn, did this book deliver. The story itself is captivating, the yearning is so palpable, the grumpy x sunshine dynamic is fun and the tension between Gideon and Lena is delicious.
I also think the concept is so unique, with a former Secret Service agent and first daughter dynamic that was absolutely addictive to read. I was invested in these characters and their complicated path to their HEA.
The audio featuring Avery Caris and Sean Masters was a perfect compliment to the story, with both performers absolutely sucking me in from the jump. I can’t recommend this book enough!
4.25 stars - thanks to Must Love Audio for the ALC!
I was SO excited to get Gideon's story after absolutely loving Ryker & Willow's story in Safe Haven (book one of the Triple Creek Ranch series). And it did NOT disappoint.
This story centers on Gideon's life after the secret service. He was shot in the line of duty, and his body never fully recovered. When he retired, he went home to his family's ranch in Montana to build a life there, building a successful business to train others in his special skill set. And the only thing that could possibly drag him back into the world of politics + protection? The first daughter, Lena.
When Lena escapes her attempted kidnapping, she gets sentenced by her mother, the President of the United States, to Montana for safe keeping. There, she finds Gideon, a man who feels like a ghost to her. When he was shot, he was relieved of his duties on her detail and she never saw him again. Now, together, they have to work through past trauma and fight to build a future they will both be comfortable with... with training, tools, and skills to protect themselves. Only... that's not the only thing that Lena learns, and the more she finds out about Gideon, the more she cherishes the man, and the more he wants to protect her at all costs.

THE AUDIOBOOK (read in dual narration): Lena is trying to figure out who she is, and Avery Caris helps bring her story to life while she tests boundaries and finds an inner grit to work through some of the hardest things a person should go through. Equally as compelling, Gideon, read by Sean Masters, is incredibly reserved. He always wants to care and protect, often at the expense of what he really wants. I felt all the emotions in this story through the audio - highly recommend (audio listening is free with ku!).
As well written and compulsively readable as this story was, I can’t give it more than one star. The frustration outweighed the enjoyment at nearly every turn, and the emotional logic of the romance never fully added up for me.
First: the family dynamics were unbearable. I went into this book already uneasy because of how Lena was described in book one by Gideon and his family, and somehow the author doubled down. Willow was outright horrible—bullying, cold, and cruel—and Gideon wasn’t much better. One of his first interactions with Lena in years is telling her he doesn’t want her on his property because she’s a “pain in the ass” and her security issues might affect his family. Meanwhile, someone is actively trying to harm her. The cognitive dissonance was wild. We’re supposed to root for this couple while he’s making it clear she’s unwanted with him.
And the setup itself felt unrealistic. Lena is nearly kidnapped and murdered, and the President of the United States decides the safest place for her is… rural Montana with no Secret Service? It strained credibility.
Willow’s treatment of Lena was the breaking point. She invites Lena to dinner only to bully her, blame her for Gideon getting shot, and make it clear she doesn’t want her there. Then she shows up the next day to double down instead of apologizing. It made me actively dislike Willow and retroactively question my rating of her book. Yes, she eventually apologizes and becomes Lena’s friend, but it felt hollow because of how long and how intensely she was awful.
Gideon defending Lena in those moments was great, but it also felt contradictory because he had told Lena himself he didn’t want her there either. Lena deserved better from both of them.
The romance had chemistry, but the emotional foundation was shaky. There’s no denying the tension—these two want each other badly, and the scenes are hot. Their training sessions, the shower moment, the aftercare, the little gestures (the art studio, the romance novels)—all of that worked. Once they finally sleep together, they’re essentially together, and I loved that.
But the emotional logic? Not so much.
Lena repeatedly pushes herself to injury because she won’t complain. Gideon doesn’t realize the extent until after, and while the aftercare is sweet, the dynamic felt off. And his drill‑sergeant behaviour the next day after sleeping together was unnecessary—thankfully Lena shuts it down.
The trauma handling was deeply mishandled. Lena survived a mass shooting, thought Gideon died, wasn’t told the truth, didn’t receive therapy, and was told to “deal.” Her parents—especially her mother—were awful. And Gideon not checking on her after the incident? Also awful. It made it hard to buy into the “safest with him” narrative.
Then came the third‑act breakup—my least favorite trope. Lena’s mother orchestrates it, blames Gideon, and Lena wakes up alone in DC after being unconscious. Gideon gives up instantly. Months pass. Lena is the only one fighting for them, sending texts, working on herself, building a life, pursuing her art. Gideon? Does nothing until Ryker and Willow point out how pathetic he’s being. The man who would “burn down the world” for her suddenly can’t even send a text.
Their reunion felt lackluster because of that.
The betrayals were excessive. Chelsea being the mole. The lifelong Secret Service agent being behind the kidnapping attempt. The abusive subplot with Howey. It was twist after twist with no emotional payoff, just shock value.
And the series itself feels disconnected. There’s no real buildup to this storyline, no meaningful connection to the other series beyond a charity benefit. It feels random in a way this author usually avoids.
In the end: I’m happy Lena gets her HEA, but I don’t think Gideon—or his family—deserved her. The chemistry was there, the potential was there, but the execution left me frustrated more often than not. This could’ve been a five‑star book with different choices, but for me, it missed the mark.

Kristen Proby has done it again! Safe Keeping pulled me right back into Triple Creek Ranch and gave me everything I love in a romantic suspense: danger, tension, forced proximity, emotional healing, and a protective hero who is impossible not to fall for. Lena and Gideon’s story had me hooked from the start.
Gideon once took a bullet for Lena when he was her Secret Service agent, and that moment still connects them years later. Now, when Lena’s safety is threatened again, she is sent to Montana to the one man who has never failed to protect her. But Gideon is not the same man he was before, and Lena is no longer just the president’s daughter hiding behind a title.
I loved watching Lena grow into her own strength. She has spent so much of her life being protected, watched, and controlled, but with Gideon, she starts learning how strong she really is. Their self-defense training scenes were full of tension, chemistry, and that slow burn pull that makes you want to keep turning the pages. Gideon was broody, protective, and a little emotionally guarded, which made him even better. The way he saw Lena for who she truly was, not just who the world expected her to be, made their romance feel so meaningful. Their connection was electric, but it also had so much heart.
This book had the perfect mix of romance, suspense, betrayal, family tension, and ranch vibes. I loved the Triple Creek Ranch setting, the protective found-family feel, and the way the danger kept the story moving without taking away from Lena and Gideon’s love story. If you love protective heroes, romantic suspense, forced proximity, bodyguard romance, and broody cowboys with a soft side, you definitely need to pick this one up!
The audiobook for Safe Keeping by Kristen Proby was such a fun mix of romance and suspense, with a bodyguard trope that immediately pulls you in. The stakes are high from the start, and the tension never really lets up—between the danger surrounding Lena and the unresolved history between her and Gideon, there’s always something simmering. I loved watching Lena step into her strength throughout the story; she starts off already fierce, but her growth into someone even more confident and capable was so satisfying. And Gideon? Fully in his protective, slightly grumpy, completely down bad era and it works so well.
On audio, Avery Caris and Sean Masters absolutely deliver. They complement each other perfectly, bringing out the pining, the tension, and the emotional undercurrent of the story in a way that makes it hard to stop listening. The chemistry translates effortlessly, and the banter and flirtation feel natural and engaging. It’s fast paced, a little suspenseful, and very easy to binge—definitely a standout for anyone who loves romantic suspense with strong character dynamics and a solid emotional core.
This is an engaging romantic suspense set in Montana. When Lena, the daughter of the President, is the target of a kidnapping attempt, her former Secret Service agent, Gideon, is recruited to hide her at his ranch. In addition to serving as her bodyguard, he trains her in self defense and encourages her to follow her own path with art. It's great to see Lena develop self assurance and independence. There's lots of sparks between this pair and it's fun to see their connection build as they spend time together.
Book 2 in the Triple Creek Ranch series & wow! This book! I absolutely loved Lena & Gideon!
This one is ex secret service agent/first daughter, age gap, protective & grumpy MMC, and a badass/ strong FMC!
The narration for this one by Sean Masters & Avery Caris was perfect for these characters! They brought all the tension, emotions, and yearning into this performance!
This was a fun read, full of so much tension, forced proximity, and absolute heat! I loved the training moments with these two & the added suspense this one gave me. It kept me hooked in and loving this story! The found family vibes from this series is so special and I loved the added heart it brings to this story.
Truly such a great read by Kristen & I can’t wait to see what else comes from this series!
Loved this one. Lena is the president’s daughter. When a threat is made, she is sent to Montana to stay with her old Secret Service detail. Gideon lives on a ranch in the middle of nowhere and runs a training facility for security personnel after he is no longer in the Secret Service. When Lena shows up, he realizes that she’s not the teenager he once guarded. He vows to keep her safe and they spend their days training so that she is strong and not vulnerable.
I absolutely loved this one! I have always had a thing for bodyguard romances (don’t blame me, I grew up on Kevin Costner and then Kate Holmes movies ) and this one was everything I ever could have wanted.
Gideon and Lena were perfect. The history, the tension, they ways Gideon fought so hard now to blur the lines. It was just absolutely amazing.
And let me tell you this was probably one of the best dual narrated audiobooks I’ve listened to. Sean Masters and Avery Caris were absolutely phenomenal and made an already amusing story even better.
✨ Small Mountain Town ✨ Body Guard x First Daughter ✨ Age Gap ✨ Forced Proximity ✨ Forbidden
Kristen is an autobuy author for me. I absolutely love her and her story telling. Her characters and always so real with so much emotional depth and Gideon and Lena’s story showcases that.
He’s this gruff retired Secret Servive agent and she’s the first daughter who is in danger, and I ate up every word of this.
Kristen just blends swoony and spicy so well, and when they finally gave in…. I was a puddle on the floor.
Please pick up this book, it will grab your attentions and not let it go.
It wasn’t that the book was bad. I did enjoy the story and growth of the characters. But the age gap in this one made me uncomfortable maybe it’s because he met her at 17.
Loved this story and the narrators! The voice of Gideon was perfect! Loved the progression of the relationship between Gideon and Lena, the trust they found, the healing, the freedom to be them. And the suspense! I had a suspicion about it and was correct.
Lina was the President's daughter, Gideon used to be one of her Secret Service Agents in the past, until he was hurt while protecting her. Lina didn't have the easiest time being in everyone's attention, because she was the president's daughter and when she did a bad thing everything and everyone went haywire. And this time it got to that point where Lina needed to go under the radar, because someone wanted to kidnap her and Gideon was considered by her mother to be the only one who could be trusted with protecting her. That's how Lina would end up in the small town of Montana, at Gideon's family ranch. But during their training sessions something started sizzling between Lina and Gideon. Will that be enough for them to built a strong relationship which could stand against everything that threatened their happiness?
Ohhh, this book was so, so good!! I simply loved how everything was built between Lina and Gideon, that slow burn and intense tension being so captivating. They were so different from each other, but I liked how well they just clicked together, even if there was an age gap between them and with him being such a broody man, always serious and vigilante, and her being a happy, careless and full of dreams kind of girl. It was so sweet to see Gideon so protective of Lina, even in front of his own family, which clearly showed how lost was already for her🤭. There was some suspense which was a constant present throughout this story, because of the fact that they didn't really know who was behind the plan of hurting Lina and that was something which I really liked, never knowing when the unexpected would happen.
I truly liked this book by Kristen Proby, enjoying so much listening to Sean Masters and Avery Caris, who did an incredible job in getting me immersed into this story, in making me feel so intensely everything that happened with our characters. I truly recommend this book and series, this one being the 2nd book of "Triple Creek Ranch" series, but which can be read as a standalone as well.
Thank you so much Kristen and team for offering me this e-ARC and ALC! So grateful to be part of your influencer team 🤗.

ARC/ALC Review: 5⭐️ Safe Keeping is book 2 in the Triple Creek Ranch series featuring Gideon James & Lena.
Lena is the daughter of the President of the United States and Gideon is her former Secret Service Protection. Years ago after an incident where Gideon was injured, Lena had no idea where he was or if he was okay she just knew that he wasn’t on her detail anymore.
Now Lena has found herself the target of an unknown group of people and her Mother is worried for her safety. She sends Lena to Montana to hide out with Gideon while they figure out who is targeting her.
After his injury Gideon was no longer fit for the secret service so he returned to his families ranch in Montana and has opened a training facility where he trains up and coming recruits who will go on to offer personal protection and security to various celebrities and important people. He is once again called upon by the President to keep her daughter safe, but this time on his own turf.
Having Lena under his roof and protection will prove to be difficult for Gideon to keep his distance from her. Eventually sparks fly between them and things get hot and heavy, but when the dangers to Lena end up in town, will Gideon be able to keep Lena safe once and for all?
I am a HUGE fan of Kristen Proby and stories like this one are the absolute reason why. This book was fantastic, it kept me on the edge of my chair the entire time and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The chemistry between the characters and everything they go through to get to their HEA had me truly invested and made me feel like I was rooting for my close personal friends..
The audio was preformed by Sean Masters & Avery Crais and I cannot say enough amazing things about it. I highly recommend picking uo this series on audio and I wonder if we will see more of them in the future!
Thank you Kristen Proby for the opportunity to read/listen to this fantastic story!
Safe Keeping is the 2nd book in the Triple Creek Ranch series. I was highly anticipating this one since the last book. I couldn't wait for the romance between a Secret Service agent and the president's daughter. Kristen Proby definitely didn't disappoint!
Gideon James was badly injured protecting the President's daughter 4 years ago and could no longer be a Secret Service agent. He gets called in to protect Lena again after she was almost kidnapped by one of their own agents. He brings her to the ranch to keep her safe and in hiding, while giving her self-defense training.
Gideon is surprised by how much Lena has matured and grown into a beautiful woman. The attraction is difficult to deny with their forced proximity and training. I loved how protective and supportive Gideon was of Lena. Their chemistry was perfection and I loved their banter.
I also love how Gideon helps Lena through her trauma from the attack that happened years ago. Lena had a lot of guilt for what happened, even though Gideon never blamed her. It was also amazing when he defended her to the heroine from the first book when she was being kind of a bully to Lena. I loved the little found family Lena had with them all after living a lonely life as the President's daughter.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎤Dual narration by Sean Masters & Avery Caris
Sean Masters was absolutely perfect as the broody, ex Secret Service agent Gideon. Avery also did an amazing job with all the emotional things Lena was going through, especially the parts dealing with her PTSD.
Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.
Lena is the daughter of the President and her life is in danger, so she's sent to hide out at the house of the secret service agent (Gideon) who once upon a time took a bullet for her.
They haven't seen each other in four years. While Lena has always been attracted to Gideon, he only saw her as a job. But oh how things have changed. Now she's a fully grown hot af woman that he can't keep his eyes, and hands, off of.
It was so fun watching these two continuously talk themselves out of their feelings....until that f*ck it moment. Then all bets were off. The heat and chemistry between these two dang near it melted my Kindle.
And the audio just made it even hotter! Sean Masters and Avery Caris were amazing! I could listen to Sean's grumpy growly voice read literally anything. And Avery nailed all the emotional rollercoasters Lena went through. These two had me blushing in public more than once with their naughty mouths! It was such a good time and I didn't want it to end!
I fell for Gideon in Safe Haven and I went totally head over heels for him in this book! He was utterly perfect....broody, grumpy, protective....then full of yearning....swoony, jealous, and possessive. And Lena was everything he needed to bring light, laughter, and love to his life. Her witty sassy comments had him fuming and me giggling!
It was just all so good and ended too soon, but the ending and epilogue wrapped it up perfectly!
ok fire read! Picked this one up on a whim because bodyguard romances will always be a fav!!!!! loved how they went so long without seeing each other because it makes the age gap (WHICH WE NEVER ACTUALLY FOUND OUT WHAT IT IS) less of a big deal since they met when she was young
This book checked all the boxes for a swoon worthy romance; I could not get enough of Gideon and Lena together. Their history. The risk. The perfect ending.
🎧Sean Masters and Avery Caris were fantastic! The nailed the emotions in this story and their voices were the perfect match for Gideon and Lena.
Huge thanks for Kristen Proby for the gifted ARC & ALC of Safe Keeping.
I probably say this all the time but this is another 5 star read from Kristen. I don’t think there is one book that I have not given 5 stars to and Safe Keeping is no different.
Gideon and Lena’s story broke my heart and even had a tear in my eye a time or two. But like with all of Kristen’s books she pulled it off with the drama, the storyline the spice and the HEA.
I struggled with the first 30% or so; it gave me the ick. I didn’t like how Gideon immediately changed his tune about Lena after seeing her for the first time since she spent years as his Secret Service detail — until she was 20. He sees her again at 24 and then — BOOM — instalust. With that age gap, you should still be seeing her as a kid. Then he’s mad at his own family who, justifiably, blame her for him getting shot and almost losing his leg.
I kind of just ignored the things that bothered me and enjoyed the rest of the book for what it was.
~ forbidden love ~ bodyguard ~ daughter of the US Pres ~ suspense ~ high chemistry ~ found family 4.8 - Proby does it once more! I loved Lena and Gideon! Classic forbidden love with suspense and thrills. Lena is a sweetheart and is struggling with PTSD from a near kidnapping experience that got Gideon severely wounded. As a bodyguard, he protects Lena fiercely, and after the incident, he steps back to heal and be with his family. Lena is devastated to lose his protection, and when another kidnapping attempt has her going into hiding, she is sent to Gideon's home, where she is well protected. Gideon runs a training camp for self-defense and is not ready for the feelings he develops for this beautiful and talented young woman, now hiding in his home. How can he keep his feelings in the right place? Or should he make Lena his? Lena goes from hating Gideon to feeling very different when seeing his care for her and those close to him. But how could they ever have a future? There are a lot of emotions in this one, including a childhood of neglect, adoption, PTSD, feeling unloved by one's own parents, and loneliness. It's deep and beautiful. I love watching Lena take a leap and using her artistic skills and build friendships. The enemy was a surprise in this, but had it coming! I cannot wait for this author's next book!
I absolutely devoured this audio! I loved each of the characters so much! They complemented each other and supported each other so well! I loved being along for their healing journey and getting to see these two work together through it! Gideon and Lena’s story had me so invested! I loved the forbidden feeling and suspense had me hooked immediately! 🤭
The narration was great! Sean Masters captured Gideon’s personality perfectly! Avery Caris was amazing as Lena! They really brought the story to life and made this story so enjoyable!
I absolutely LOVED Safe Keeping by Kristen Proby, it is an incredible small-town close proximity/age gap love story. It is the second and final book in her new Triple Creek Ranch series. Once again Kristen Proby shows that she is an amazing storyteller. Kristen Proby is a must-read author for me. I was hooked from the first few pages, and it was impossible to put Safe Keeping down, it filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and I loved every moment on every page. Safe Keeping is one of my favorite books that I have read recently. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? Safe Keeping is the story of Gideon James, former Secret Service agent, who runs an elite security training facility on his family ranch and the First Daughter, Lena. Gideon returns to the Triple Creek Ranch in Montana after being shot while protecting Lena, four years earlier. Gideon is reunited with his childhood best friends, “The Three Amigos,” his adoptive brother, Ryker and Willow, Ray’s niece. Gideon and Lena have not seen each other since then. Gideon is summoned to the White House by Madam President, “Eagle” after a failed kidnapping attempt on Lena, “Blackbird.” The president wants Gideon to take Lena to his ranch in Montana and keep her safe, until the Secret Service can determine who was behind the kidnapping attempt. I love everything that Gideon does for Lena, to help her feel comfortable in his home. I especially love how he gets her art supplies so that she can draw while she is on the ranch. Lena’s initial interactions with Willow are anything but cordial, since Willow blames Lena for Gideon’s injuries. While on the ranch, Gideon trains Lena to be able to defend herself. I love the results of Lena’s training on the obstacle course; it is one of my favorite parts of the book. Gideon still remembers Lena as the reckless woman she was when he protected her. I love the sizzling chemistry between Lena and Gideon. I love the conversations between them that flow so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Lena constantly flirting with dirty talking Gideon. I love how Gideon still calls Lena by a new nickname, “Rebel,” instead of her Secret Service sign. One of my favorite parts are all the heart-to-heart conversations that take place in Safe Keeping, especially the ones Lena has with Gideon, where he encourages her to show her artwork using a pseudonym and Lena’s eventual conversations with Willow. I love all secrets that they share with each other, and how he shares memories of Debbie and Ray with Lena. Another favorite part of the story is the change in the relationship between Lena and Willow. A surprise plot twist threatens Lena’s life, and the president dismisses Gideon and takes Lena home. Surprised to learn who was behind Lena’s attempted kidnapping and the attempt on her life. I love the name that Lena chose as her pseudonym and Gideon’s reaction when he notices it on artwork that Lena gave to Willow and him. My favorite part is Gideon’s proposal that took place later than he originally planned and how they admit their feelings for one another. I loved that Safe Keeping is more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Lena and Gideon are facing that need to be resolved. Gideon’s past is heartbreaking, and Kristen Proby tells it so beautifully. I love ending of Lena and Gideon’s love story and all the plot twists and surprises, and how both Lena and Gideon change because of their love for one another. As well as all the changes that they are willing to make to have a life with one another. My favorite part is how Kristen Proby incorporates the picture on the cover and the title of the book into Lena and Gideon’s love story. My favorite part of the book is the epilogue that is told from Gideon’s perspective, the significance of the wedding dress that Lena wears on her wedding day. I really enjoy how the book is written in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Safe Keeping is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, as well as laugh out loud moments. Safe Keeping is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in a Kristen Proby love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. I love the family dynamic in Safe Keeping, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Gideon, Ryker, Lena and Aiden. I love the man that Aiden has become. It feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I loved all the characters in Safe Keeping, who does not love a small-town close proximity/age gap love story. Loved the descriptions of Triple Creek Ranch in Montana, makes me want to visit. Highly recommend love story. I hope that at some point in the future that Aiden with get his own love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.
