Sami

Getting involved with someone new after my divorce was the last thing I expected.

Then I met him.

Loyal.

A younger bad boy who belongs to a motorcycle club.

I shouldn’t want him. Especially when he is only a few years older than my daughter, but I’ve come to crave the safety and peace he brings me.

The only problem is my daughter won’t accept him.

Do I risk my relationship with my daughter for true happiness or do I let him slip through my fingers and make the sacrifice?

Loyal

My sole focus has always been the club that took me in when I needed it most.

Until I saw her.

Sami.

The single mom who is a decade older than me.

I knew I wanted her the moment I laid eyes on her. It’s why I bought a house to be close to her.

There are powers that be that don’t want us together though. Society, her daughter, and the sleazy ex-husband who seems to think that she belongs to him.

I’m not one to give up easy though. I will fight for her until my dying breath.

With every new book in this series, it becomes harder and harder to decide which member of the Lotus MC: San Antonio is my favorite—and Loyal definitely made that choice even more impossible.

This book is packed with emotion, tension, angst, and heartfelt moments, yet nothing ever feels overdone or exaggerated. That’s honestly what stands out the most to me with Cala Riley’s writing: the realism. The emotions, the relationships, the conflicts… everything feels believable and grounded in a way that makes the story hit even harder.

At no point while reading did I think, “this would never happen in real life.” The reactions, the difficult situations, the emotional growth—it all felt incredibly authentic, which made me completely invested from beginning to end.

As for the characters, Loyal absolutely lived up to his name. The way he supports Sami, respects her choices, and gives her the space to make her own decisions while still standing firmly by her side was genuinely beautiful to read. He’s protective without being controlling, present without overshadowing her, and that balance made him such a strong MMC for me.

Sami’s journey was equally compelling. Watching her slowly rediscover herself, face difficult situations, and grow stronger through every challenge was one of the highlights of the book. Her emotional evolution felt natural and deeply human.

I also really appreciated the way the reverse age-gap trope was handled here. It wasn’t romanticized to the point of feeling unrealistic, nor was it unnecessarily dramatized. The authors approached it with nuance and honesty, which made the relationship feel even more genuine.

And of course, one of the best things about this series remains the Lotus MC itself. The sense of family, loyalty, and brotherhood is incredibly strong, and I think this book showcased that dynamic even more than the previous ones.

Honestly, this book had everything I personally love in a romance: the perfect pacing, emotional depth, angst, action, tenderness, and strong character development—all perfectly balanced.

Loyal was such an amazing addition to this series, and I already cannot wait for the next book.

This MC romance is a reverse age gap with a divorced single mom. It is a fast-burn with found family, a bratty teenager, a crazy ex, amazing MC members, and tons of drama.

I love the realism that Cala always puts in these books! Even though the books are fiction, the circumstances that these characters are in are very real. In this book, Sami is a recent divorcee with an ex who believes she belongs to him. Her daughter is upset by the divorce and tries to get her mom to go back to her dad. Once the ex and daughter find out that Sami and Loyal are dating, all hell breaks loose and it's nonstop drama.

Loyal definitely shows why he was given that road name. He is extremely loyal to his MC brothers and now to Sami and her daughter as well. He's so patient, understanding, caring, and loving. Sami never knew love and happiness before she met Loyal. She's a hardworking mama who has put her own happiness on the back burner to make her daughter happy. Now she's trying to live her life finally. Loyal and Sami really bring out the best in each other.

This book had me so angry and frustrated with the ex and daughter and then as soon as Loyal showed up, everything was fine again. The emotions are raw and feel so real. I loved the different pacing and start to the relationship in this book versus the usual style of the other books. The ending perfectly sets up the next character's book. Loved this hard-fought happy ending and the bonus epilogue is the cherry on top!

Our favourite sweetheart finally gets his woman and more in this Lotus MC San Antonio entry!
Loyal's patience, hard work, and determination has him feeling like he can live up to his roadname and position as VP. (Even though we all know he earned it from the beginning).

After a year of secret hook ups and stolen kisses, Loyal lays it all on the line for Sami; either they go all in together or he needs to move on. He's been all in from the start, but there's only so long a man can keep his claim for his woman in the dark.

With a teenager in need of an attitude adjustment, and an ex husband who doesn't understand the meaning of divorce; Loyal is the only thing that makes Sami happy. Even with the age gap, he’s everything she needs for support, encouragement, and, of course, stamina as a perk of dating a younger man.

A great entry in the series as always, I couldn't put this one down, refreshing after being stuck in a reading rut. Both sweet and sexy, Loyal finally receives some of his own loyalty and love returned.

The gang make appearances also, helping Sami and Farrah assimilate to the lifestyle and the true meaning of family.

Only Cala Riley could get me to truly love a reverse age gap, but the way this was written was utterly perfect. Loyal has been a part of the Lotus MC for years. The club president, Savage, saw something in him and made him the VP before he was full patched in and I loved it. Knowing that he earned that road name and how close he is to his brothers made this book even more enjoyable. He moved in next door to a beautiful single mom and with a lot of time and patience was just there showing up to help when she needed it. Sami is going through a really difficult time with her ex and I love that we get to see Loyal showing her that not all guys are like that. He showers her with love and support and it is how, even when she pushes him away, he continues to be there. Things between these two are straight hot and I love every minute of how they work together to show Sami’s daughter, that age is just a number.

Sami is a 30-something woman, with a teenage daughter who is her entire world. And an ex who doesn't understand divorce or boundaries.

Loyal is a 22-year old biker who could not care less that the woman he loves has a daughter closer to his age than she is.

One would think Loyal would run for the hills, especially with the psychotic ex-husband who can't take no for an answer and enlists his daughter's help in making life miserable for Sami. But he doesn't. True to his name, he hangs on for the ride because Sami means that much to him.

I'll admit I had a little trouble at the beginning because I couldn't wrap my head around the time-line of Sami's life so it felt a little unrealistic but hanging in there paid off and all was made clear in the end. Spicy and sweet all at the same time. With a firm grasp on what family should be. Worth the read.

Thanks to Cala Riley and Hambright PR for the advanced copy of the book. This review is voluntary and entirely my own opinion.

I’m OBSESSED with a man who knows what he wants!
Loyal and Sami’s story is crazy and chaotic and before I knew it I reached the end but they get their HEA! I love it and I love even more how Farrah and Loyal build a relationship even though she tries to cause issues for her mom and him in the beginning!
Loyal has had plenty of time to look after Sami and decide he wants her and so when the opportunity comes you know he takes it!
Between a crazy ex who has decided he wasn’t letting her go to just the normal craziness that is an MC life there is always something happening but there is something to be said about an MC romance because you KNOW the men will do anything and everything for their “old lady”

Loyal by Cala Riley

🖤🖤🖤🖤

Clearly, we know I love anything written by these two. Loyal is now part of my chapter of MC men to swoon over—welcome, Loyal!

Honestly, this book had me a little nervous with Loyal and Sami (love the name choice) being together (ish) so early on. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Boy, did it drop! I was on the edge of my seat, head whipping back and forth, wondering WHAT ELSE is going to try to ruin the life Sami is trying to build after divorcing her useless ex-husband.

I felt for Farrah—having your parents divorce is one thing, but to be used by someone who is supposed to protect you no matter what is heartbreaking. I’m so happy that she and her mum have the club as family now.

I’m always so excited guessing who the next brother will be—the main character—but I’m also so happy Farrah is with a brother’s kid as well; I would love to see their story in the future too!

Another banger from Cala Riley!

First and foremost reverse age gap is one of the most underrated tropes out there. And then a MC reverse age gap!? I couldn’t run faster to sign up for this ARC.

And it did not disappoint. Loyal is just that. He’s the most level headed, in tune with his feelings, loyal kind of man. And for 22, he is all man. Wise beyond his years.

Next door is Sami, a recent divorced mother. She left a loveless marriage to a terrible man. They start a situationship because of the age gap and her 17 year old daughter.

I love the story. The twists and suspense. There is nothing better than a man that is so down bad for a woman that he gets advice on handling a single mom. Mix that with a dirty mouth. I would say he’s pretty flawless.

I loved this book so much!

Not your typical age gap story…nope this one is younger guy and slightly older woman…and their story does no disappoint.

He is not stalking her…he is not obsessed with her…not for one little minute…just because he bought the house next door to where she would be living with her teenage daughter so he could keep an eye on her…it’s just being neighborly.

One flat tire changes the course of how she seems him, Loyal, but she doesn’t learn his government name, not just yet, there will be time for all of that in the future.

Through ups and downs of sneaking around, dealing with angsty teenager, abusive ex-husband, work, being the VP of the MC….so many balls being juggled but these two find a way to make it work.

Angst✅
Drama✅
Trauma✅
Violence✅
Smexy🔥🔥
HEA❤️❤️

I think this may have become my favourite book from Cala Riley so far!
There is so much that happens within this book but nothing feels rushed or left unanswered.

Single mum who is older than the MMC, daughter who is initially not happy about the relationship, an ex who quite clearly doesn’t understand what divorce means and so much more!

I could not put this book down and picked it up this morning and finished it this afternoon, I had to know what was going to happen next.

Each book within this series and the original Lotus series have been so good and have so many different tropes, there is truly something for everyone.

ARC Review of ‘Loyal’.

Cala Riley never let me down!
Every book I have ever read of them is such an amazing ride! Especially when stories overlap and are interconnected in their MC worlds.
The story about Royal and Sami really touches ground how two people with an age difference try to make things work. Dealing with teenager kids is even more tricky to work through.
Loved how it doesnt portray a black and white view regarding the dynamics of this topic. Love or almost adult child? Age difference yes or no?
This book just kept it real.
The chemistry between Loyal and Sami is sweet, respectful. Their 🌶️ is thrilling.
I cannot wait to read the next book!

Read this one in a day!

I was really looking forward to Loyal’s story (he was such a sweetheart in the previous books)

This was such an easy, fast flowing read; I genuinely liked the way the reverse age gap was written and her being a single mom to a 17 year old? I can honestly say I’ve never read that before and it was a refreshing change of pace

Loyal was very mature and an absolute sweetheart, I fell even more in love with him😍

Definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!

Matt & Sami
Reverse age gap, ex drama
Sami is a divorcee who has a teen daughter. Loyal/Matt is the VP of the motorcycle club. They started causal, only sleeping together when her daughter was at her dad's house. Then things shifted. They both wanted more. The daughter and the ex husband started causing more and more drama.

This book gives you the spice and the good drama, and in all true Cala Riley books a happy ending with hopeful hints of who the next book will be about.

I loved the reverse age gap. Loyal is such a sweetheart. He truly worships the ground Sami walks on. The spice is excellent!

The found family in the MC knits this whole story together. I adored how they welcome both Sami and Farrah with open arms. I am so intrigued with what happened between Farrah and Abel, I hope we get to find out one day.

Overall another great MC romance by this duo. Looking forward to more from this series.

His name is loyal for a reason and oh does he live up to it. This man is absolutely perfection and the way he goes after the women who’s old and has a teenage child! She just wants love and the ex is a wee bit cray cray and not in a good way! Loyal is everything!!! I am obsessed with this series and can’t wait for more!!!

We finally get Loyal’s book and what a book it is. This book is a great addition to this series.

Loyal and Sami have been dancing around each other for a while now and it is time for them to make it real or move on. Cala Riley do not shy away from exploring the dynamics of an age gap romance and the insecurities that surround it. Add into the mix a teenager that does not approve and an ex that does not get that when it is over it is over and you have everything that you need in a book. Loyal really does show Sami how he earned his road name.

I read this book in one sitting it was that good – actually the whole series is.

Obsessed from the start. The reverse age gap alone made this a must read for me and I love a good MC read. I loved Loyals energy and how he handled everything thrown at him. My heart hurt for Sami so many times in this book. The ending had so much hurt happening and wondering what’s to come next

I love a Reverse Age Gap, throw in MC Romance and Loyal is absolutely perfect. There is something about a younger man treating a woman like the queen she is. This one has a great story and the perfect amount of spice.
