'The wild prince's favorite' is the third book in ‘The Dragon empire saga’ series, we had to wait a while for it, but after reading it, I can only say it was worth it!! I’m very happy that the author took her time to write it. Because she gave us another great story, I enjoyed every page!

In the first story, we meet prince Kairen and the slave Cassandra. The second story is about their eldest daughter princess Cecillia and in this story, we follow the love story of prince Kassein (one of Cecillia’s younger brothers).

This story takes place several years after the end of the second book. Prince Kassein is 18 years old and known in the Dragon Empire as the Wild prince. The question is which of the two is the wilder, Kassein or his dragon Kein? A childhood trauma caused Kassein and his dragon to grow apart. And ever since, they have done nothing but fight. When they were young, the damage was limited, but now that his dragon Kein is bigger and stronger, the situation becomes more dangerous with each fight. Their battles are bloodthirsty, gruesome and legendary throughout the empire. As a result, Kassein was punished by being appointed commander of the North Army and send to the North by his older brother Kassain, now emperor of the Dragon empire. Luckily, Kassein can count on the help of Tievin, a servant of the Imperial family, who’s now also the Grand Intendant of the North Army. Tievin has no fighting skills, but he’s the one who makes sure the army has everything they need and he’s very intelligent and likes to write everything down.

Life is in the army is quiet for Kassein, with occasional battles with the Northern clans or with his own soldiers or his dragon Kein. But everything changes when Kassein finds a young woman in the Northern Mountains. She’s seriously wounded by her own people, Kassein takes her back to his army, his tent.

Many tribes live in caves in the Northern Mountains. There are so many different tribes that even twenty year Alezya, who was born there, doesn’t know them all. Her own clan is one of the closest to the Northern army. Her father is the leader of her clan, he’s selfish and evil, thinking only of his own needs, not those of his tribe. Alezya was once married, but after giving birth to her white skinned daughter Lumie, she and her daughter were rejected by her (ex-)husband. Even her own tribe thinks she cheated. But she didn’t! Alezya sees her child as a snow-white wonder. Now she lives back home, but even here, she and her daughter are pariahs. And then one day Alezya tries to flee with her daughter but that ends badly. Alezya gets wounded and falls in the hands of the enemy.
To Alezya’s surprise, the tall, strange warrior takes good care of her. She has never felt as safe as she does with Kassein (and his dragon!). He’s gentle with her and protects her, even from his own people. They don’t understand each other’s language, but the way he treats her and looks at her makes her heart sing. But as much as Alezya wants to stay, she must return to her clan for her daughter.
Alezya and Kassein don’t realize it yet, but this meeting will change their lives forever! After generations of war between the tribes of the Northern mountains and the Dragon Clan, there’s a chance for peace, but not everyone wants it and to win, everyone will have to choose a side and fight. Can Alezya save her child? And will Kasein still want her when he knows all her secrets?

Like the other two books, this was another big book and a slow burn romance. I enjoyed every page! But this story was a bit different from the previous two books, because in this story we got both Alezya and Kassein POV’s. And we even got Tievin’s thoughts a few times. During the periods when Kassein and Alezya were separated, the author also shared what happened to them. The story was very fluent writing and while the other books had some typing errors, in this book there weren’t any (or at least not that I noticed). The focus of the story was primarily on Kassein and Alezya, the North army and the clans of the Northern mountains. We did see a few familiar faces, like princess Kiera (Kassein’s older sister) and her partner, both of whom were a great help, a few other siblings and Kassein’s parents (Kairen and Cassandra). And there were all the dragons, big and small. In this story, we saw what happened when a dragon and his owner weren’t connected, when they lived as enemies. It was very dangerous, and in a way sad, how this deep bond didn’t exist between Kassein and his dragon. That’s why it was fascinated to see how Alezya won, not only Kassein’s heart, but also that of his dragon. And even her daughter Lumie (who was such a sweet child!) had no problem winning the hearts of both Kassein and his dragon. This story was about the many different kinds of love that exist. The love between a couple, between parents and their children (young and old), between siblings and between friends. Hate can destroy you, but love can heal almost anything. Alezya was a strong character, she was also empathetic, intelligent, loyal, resilient and above all a protective mother. Her baby daughter Lumie was everything to her. Kassein was a great warrior, but he showed Alezya that a man could also be kind, gentle and protective and that he could love a child who wasn’t his own. (Kassein reminded me so much of his father, a great warrior obsessed with a woman and her child and he would do everything in his power to protect them!) It was great to see how the bond between Kassein and Kein strengthened thanks to Alezya and her daughter. Alezya and Kassein supported and complemented each other well. I liked that very much. Tievin was a fascinating character and it was very interesting to learn more about the Northern tribes. We got an epilogue too, I loved it.

The author gave us another great story in this wonderful fantasy series. I really hope that she will write more stories in this series. It’s one of my favorites series and I know that I will reread the three books many times in the future.

5 ⭐ because enemies, dragons, and just the right amount of grumpy

I am absolutely loving the Dragon Empire Saga, and book three did not disappoint. Jenny Fox delivered another romance that left me smiling, swooning and craving more.

This time, we follow the next generation of dragon royals, the children of Cassandra and Kairen, and focus on their youngest: Kassein, and his other half, Alezya.

We'll start with Kassein, the Wild Prince. Bachelor, 18, self-exiled, and grumpier than a rainy Monday. He's the commander of the Northern Army and feared across the Empire and it's neighbours. His dragon, Kein, should be his closest companion... except Kein keeps trying to kill him. Literally. And since we already know dragons reflect the heart and mind of their bonded human, something inside Kassein is clearly broken. He's powerful like his father, Kairen, but he's completely estranged from his family. The mystery around him builds beautifylly.

Now with Alezya. She comes from the Northern Tribes, the sworn enemies of the Dragon Empire. She's a single mom of a daughter with albinism, and is rejected and abused by her people, treated like a witch, and surviving constant humiliation. And yet, she endures. For her daughter, for herself. Her resilience is both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Their story kicks off when Kassein rescues Alezya from the mountains, and in true "heir of the War God" fasion, he falls hard. What makes this story extra juicy? It's not just enemies-to-lovers, it's also a language barrier romance. They don't speak the same tongue and have to navigate every emotion, every misunderstanding, without words.

We get everything: unconditional love, fiery tension, bickering, personal growth, tender family moments, and some hot AF scenes. Plus, cameos from the royal family, and the setup for the next book (👀Kassian👀).

And Tievin? Poor man. He's the comedic relief stuck in the coldest corner of the empire with an emotionally constipated prince and a murdery dragon. And I loved every second of it.

Do we get a HEA? Yes.
Is it reread worthy? Absolutely.
Am I impatient for the next book? You bet.

Jenny Fox continues to build a rich world full of emotional depth, political intrigue, dragon lore, and couples that make you root for love in all its complicated glory.

worth the wait

As soon as I saw this title, I reread the first two books. So, the author’s voice from War God and White King was still fresh in my head.

Wild Prince has all the things that I loved about the first two books. The world building. The distinct personalities of the characters. Strong women. And the natural evolution of the relationships between the characters.

Wild Prince started a bit slower than the other two books. But as the story evolved, it was clear why Jenny Fox took the time to show how different Alezya and Kassein’s world view was so that it was more meaningful when it came together.

I do wish it was longer. I know that is strange but War God and White King *felt* longer. And while I know Wild Prince was a lot more edited than the first two (since they were developed on a pay per chapter app), there were a few unresolved things for me particularly what the hell happened to Kassian and Kian. I loved his character in White King and his fall from grace here felt so sudden. I know there were some implied things but I wanted more. I just want to know what happened. So that’s just me being nosy and also wanting more from the book.

I guess I just want a fourth book, is what I’m saying. Jenny Fox writes these long novels and builds a world I never want to leave. I do love seeing some of my old favorites in this book again. But not enough Kareen and definitely not enough Naptunie. And now after reading through all three novels in a row, I reluctantly leave the Dragon Empire.

Riveting tale of a mother torn between her daughter and protector

This is the first romatasy I've read where the heroine is a mother. The complex emotions of her characters are displayed fantastically through a language barrier and cultural differences. This story blend well into the series by reintroducing preview saga characters in a way that doesn't confuse the reader if they were to decide to read them out of order. The story also aligns in the world the author previously built. It's obvious that this author loves her character and world. Although the title is long at 1028 kindle pages it never feels boring or slow.

This book is about a mother who is separated from her child because of her clan. A dangerous man with a sad backstory finds her on the verge of death. He nurtures her and feels overly protective of her even though they don’t speak the same language. He senses that she wants to go back to the mountains where he found her, he finds her again beaten badly with an order from her father she must carry out or never see her daughter again. Over time she learns the language and is falling in love with the man who saved her. She learns more about him… want to know the rest… READ THIS BOOK YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

great!

My favorite character in this book is Keira, just like her aunt Shareen they are cut from the same cloth! They are both hilarious 🤣 love how they speak their minds and their response to things. This is the third installment of this series I’ve read, I can’t wait and I’m hoping that they will be a 4th and 5th installment of both DARSAN and Kassain. Need to know how they did in their lives. Jenny Fox is an incredible writer ive read almost every book she has written. I appreciate her vision of these characters and the way she is able to explain and make the stories connect. Giving you a background of what each character has gone though even if it’s a little summary.

Beautiful love story

Jenny is one of the best writers around and this book was absolutely amazing. It was heartfelt, with such captivating imagery, you feel like you are in the story. It is action packed (with some of the best battle chapters I have ever read) and so so much more. The depth of these characters was astounding and the story building was unbelievable. It was an absolute treat to read. Such a good 3rd book.

Like father, like son.

I normally consume books within days but I took my time reading this one. I didnt want the story to end. I loved the Wild Prince as much as I loved the War God.
They have fierce women that can love them through their thick dragon scales.
I loved the world building in this one, the contrast between cultures and languages.

Really enjoyed it

I really liked this book. The kindness that Kassein showed Alezya at the start really warmed my heart and the fact they fell in love was even better. Kein's role in bringing them all together really touched me too and I love that Lumie was so accepted in his family, and that Kairen was her favourite considering he's known as the war god.

What a fantastic book! Loved it with all my heart, from beginning to end. A really good love story, and really great character development. The only small thing I have to comment on is that I think the characters are a bit young.

I've been waiting for this book for a long time. Devoured it in 3 day. It was definitely worth it. To be back in the Dragon empire world felt amazing. The known and unknown worlds, the characters - new and old. Thank you Jenny, I can't wait for the next adventure you send us on.

It was just okay. The other two in the series gripped me with twists, exciting storytelling, and I really felt the connection and tension from the MMC and FMC. I just kind of felt this book went though the motions. Nothing was really a surprise.
