Oswald Wilson, CEO of Wilson Athletics, cornered Monica at a gala and told her she didn't fit in their world and had the nerve to show a picture of a socialite that he'd picked for his son, Dallas. He scared her so bad that she ran. Five years later, Dallas Wilson is still grieving the loss of the love of his life. His legacy as heir to the company brings him no joy. His father is still trying to set him up with socialites that he has no interest in. Monica comes back to New York and accidentally runs into Dallas and finds out about Mathew, his whole attitude changes. He's willing to stand up and fight for his family when Oswald starts his torturous schemes. Dallas has protective schemes of his own with help. Oswald is no match against his son when it comes to protecting his son and the woman he loves.
Oswald had me so mad I was cussing at my Kindle. I could not believe the ends he would go to to get what he wanted.
It’s was ok but in the book he was 5 then towards the end he was 7 next page back to 5 and his eyes were brown the. Again in the end blue like his father two chapters over back to brown other than that it was ok
Get comfortable you will be reading until the last page has been turned this is my first by this author. Monica dated the love of her life in college though they would be together, yes, they had their differences, but his father didn’t think they belonged together, so he found someone he thought belonged to his son, someone more like him, so she left, especially after finding out she was pregnant without telling him. Dallas sexy as all get out owner of Wilson Athletic his legacy that his father held over his head but to accept it he had to marry the women his father choose for him and he gave her space to think about it while he figured out how to stand up to his father but she disappeared with is heart giving him his answer. Yet, when fate gives them a second chance he realizes she had his son who is five years old an amazing little boy and he isn’t walking away this time in fact he isn’t letting them go in fact he going to fight tooth an nail for the two of them showing her that she is worth everything to him but will she give him another chance, will she trust him with her heart again, will she trust him with her son, will she believe him after his father, what will his father think, and are they meant to find happiness the second time around as a family?
This book had a decent start, even though the reunion was a little far fetched. Former college sweethearts separate when the father of the wealthy son tells the girlfriend she will never fit into his world. She decides to leave only to find out that she’s pregnant. Five years later, she returns to the city with her son and starts working. A chance encounter at a conference reunite the former lovers. Spoiler alert for the rest About halfway through the book, at a climatic part, it seems like the author forgets what she’s writing. In the scene where the hired henchmen try to kidnap the son, there are so many inconsistencies. Why would she text everybody to call 911 and not call 911 herself? Why would the boyfriend stay with the child (and read a book) while she goes to tie up the knocked out henchmen? Why would she pick up the gun? Why did it take so long for the police to make it to the apartment when we were told that they could “hear boots coming up the stairs”? Why didn’t she get medical attention when she had very obviously broken or bruised ribs, a split lip and bruises on her face? How does the son’s eyes turn from brown to blue?
Monica Hudson has built a life for her and her son Matthew. A life separate from Matthew's father, Dallas Wilson, because of his father, Oswald Wilson. Oswald didn't want the college sweethearts together because Monica wasn't good enough for the Wilson family. Six years later, Monica and Dallas meet at a tech conference. Sparks fly again.
There were a few continuity errors. Page 117/55%: Monica takes off her clothes. Five paragraphs later, she takes them off again. Page 125/59%: Matthew's age is changed from 5 to 7 Page 174/82%): Monica set the towel wrapped gun on her kitchen counter. Four paragraphs later, she's holding the towel wrapped gun in her hand. Page 179/84%): Matthew's eyes have been brown. Now, they're blue.
Forced to break up with the woman he loves Dallas can't get over her. When a conference reconnects them, Dallas sees it as a sign, but he wasn't expecting what comes next when he finds out that he is a father and his own father had his hands in breaking him and Monica apart. Will their reconnection lead them along the path to happiness. This heartfelt story had me glued to the pages.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was good. I am glad that Preston and Mary from the previous book are also included in this one. This one is about Dallas and Monica and of course their little boy, Matthew. The only issue that I had while reading this book was the inconsistency especially when it came to Matthew's age and his eye color. Just little typos and nothing serious to take away from the storyline. It was good and had a HEA.
Another wonderful second chance book by Vixa. Monica and Dallas were college sweethearts until his after interfere and she leaves without a word Five years and a son later they meet again.
The journey to their HEA makes this story very interesting and once you start it you keep reading till u finish it Great job Vixa. I highly recommend this book.
This story had all the elements of a compelling read—a wealthy heir torn between duty and love, finding Monica again after five years and discovering his son. While the premise was strong, the flow felt a little rushed, and the return of Preston and Mary didn’t quite match their first-book portrayals.
Great love story had me smiling so much right now I don’t know how I’m feeling. Smiling because it was a good story sad that it ended so soon. Love the way Dallas fought to protect Monica & Matthew. It was sexy, but more of a beautiful love story that in the end made you feel good.
Love and Heirs book 2. A new author for me and I'm a fan. From chapter 1 you are pulled into and emotional rollercoaster that gives you all yhe feels. Monica and Dallas. Love betrayed, a secret child, and love reunited. But everything isn't simple cause you got some crazy WTF happening. A great and worthwhile read.
This book is okay I feel like the author just changed the names of the characters. They just feel like the same characters from the last book. Also the book needs a really good once over!!
Heir of My Life is a battle of the heart. Vaughn takes emotions on a dance with destiny that is full of secrets. Around every corner is a new revelation and an inevitable culmination.
