Assigned to protect his best friend’s sister, a battle-hardened operative must break every rule in the book to keep her—and his heart—safe in this pulse-racing romantic suspense novel by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin.

Audrey Langston is done with love. After heartbreak, betrayal, and secrets that shattered her life, all she wants is peace—and to raise her son in safety. But when a violent home invasion rips that fragile calm apart, she’s thrust into a web of shadowy enemies, where someone is watching her. Hunting her. And the threat may be tied to a past she thought she’d escaped.

Alejandro Rodriguez doesn’t trust easily, not after the woman he once loved nearly killed him. Which is why protecting Audrey should be just another mission—the problem is, it’s personal. She’s not only his team leader’s newly discovered sister, but she’s also the woman he’s spent the last two months trying to resist.

As danger closes in and buried lies come to light, the lines they’ve drawn begin to blur. Passion ignites, trust is tested, and every step takes them deeper into a deadly game.

In a world where nothing is as it seems, their intense connection may be the only truth left…if it doesn’t destroy them first.

Brittney Sahin began writing at an early age, with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing—never stopped imagining.

It wasn’t until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students’ advice and begin to write again.

In 2015, she published her first novel, The Safe Bet. When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.

Into The Deep by Brittney Sahin is a book that delivered so much more than my very high expectations for it. The book is the second of three in her Delta Security series and not only continued the high standards of the first book, Against All Odds, but took those standards even higher.

She weaves together characters in a story that instantly leave you feeling invested in their circumstances, relationships, and evolving suspense. She creates scenes and descriptions that make you feel as though you are present for the action. The descriptions are never too much but create a perfect setting. As I read, found my heart raced, I swooned, and I felt every emotion from anger and frustration to pure joy and laughter. This book brought all the fun and action delightfully from start to finish. The trope and developing characters are perfect. The only thing better was the author throwing in a few familiar names and characters from another series or two she wrote. It’s like visiting or checking in on old friends. My smiles became broader. Whether there was a mention or two of familiar characters, or full character engagement, it was delightful. Although nothing is lost if you are unfamiliar with those characters.

The story was constantly filled with suspense. When I thought I finally had the mysteries solved, the story took another twist. Every twist was artfully created with perfect timing. The story was a constant source of fun and never felt too easy or too complicated. The author’s writing style is engaging and I couldn’t put it down. Simply, I loved it in every way.

It is helpful and recommended to have read Against All Odds before reading Into The Deep. It will make it even more enjoyable as some characters and stories are evolving from the first book in the series. While you’re at it, I recommend grabbing all of Brittney Sahin’s books. You’ll wish her characters weren’t fictional.

Into the Deep can have so many meanings and is such an appropriate title for this book. Brittney Sahin is masterful at creating stories not only with great characters, plots and surprises, but she is also able to reach the reader on an emotional level with her writing that keeps you invested and coming back for more.

After the death of her second husband, Audrey and her son Chase move to Colorado to be closer to Chase's father, Trevor, who is an overprotective ex-SEAL. She’s done with love, done with relationships, done with men. When her home is invaded, and she is attacked, it appears that it wasn’t a random break-in. Trevor calls in her newfound brother, Ryder, and his Delta Shield team to help investigate and protect Audrey and Chase.

Alejandro (Alex) is still recovering from his ex-wife’s betrayal, a betrayal that almost cost him his life. He wonders if he will ever be able to love and trust another woman again. Then he meets Audrey, during Christmas at Ryder's house, and he feels an instant attraction to her, but she is off limits, not only because she is Ryder's sister but also because he is not sure he can open his heart to another woman.

This is a love story with slow-burning romance, suspense and plot twists that you don't see coming. The banter between the characters, the camaraderie and love they have for each other can be felt. Brittney also brings in familiar faces from the other books/series in her universe to lend an assist, and I love to see characters used outside their own series.

I cannot wait for book 3. I think Reed's book is going to have the best banter and humour out of the three books!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Into the Deep is a gripping romantic suspense that pulled me in from the very first chapter and never let go. Brittney Sahin delivers a perfect balance of high-stakes danger, emotional depth, and undeniable chemistry.

Audrey is a strong, relatable heroine whose main focus is protecting her son and rebuilding her life after heartbreak and betrayal. Alejandro is intense, guarded, and fiercely protective—the kind of hero who carries scars from his past and tries desperately to keep his heart out of the mission. Their connection is layered with tension, history, and emotions neither of them is ready to face, making every interaction feel charged and meaningful.

The suspense is fast-paced and well-crafted, with constant tension and twists that kept me guessing. The threat feels real and personal, and the sense that someone is always watching adds an edge of unease throughout the story. I loved how the danger forced Audrey and Alejandro closer together, blurring lines and testing trust.

What truly stood out was how seamlessly the romance and action were woven together. Neither overshadowed the other, and both worked to strengthen the story. Themes of trust, healing, and confronting the past were handled beautifully.

If you enjoy romantic suspense with a protective hero, strong heroine, intense chemistry, and nonstop tension, Into the Deep is a must-read. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more from Brittney Sahin.

Into The Deep-Delta Shield Security Book
This was the 2nd book for the Delta Shield Security Group. It’s Alex’s turn to find his love. Audrey is Ryders newly found sister that we just discovered was his sister at the end of the last book over Thanksgiving. Alex and Audrey had an instant connection. This new book has them falling for each other all along the way while navigating things like Ryder being her big brother and Alex having to deal with those emotions and worries. Also things like Audrey being in the middle of an operation and now having both Alex and Ryder having big feelings about her being involved in the opp. Audrey finds out that so many people on her life have lied to her over the years and she’s having a hard time adjusting. There are lots of plot twists in this book that take a minute to keep track of. This story unravels and brings in several of Brittney’s old teams that we’ve read about over the years, it’s nice to
Visit familiar faces of the past and remember those personalities. Overall I would of course recommend this book and all of Brittney’s books, but please read it in order.

If you’re looking for suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat from page one with romance and a touch of spice, then this is your book.

Brittney never fails to keep my heart racing and my mind spinning. How she weaves the tapestry of these stories boggles my mind. There are twists and turns I never see coming, yet she ties everything up so neatly and in a direction I could never have anticipated. Her mind is a beautiful place.

This book is decidedly less spicy than previous books, but that takes absolutely nothing away from the incredible plot and character development. I’m loving this new direction in her story telling.

As always, we get cameos from past series. I’m always giddy when a certain fork wielding character appears. I love the way this book sets up the next in the series.

Exceptional, fast paced story with multiple twists and turns! Ms. Sahin certainly knows how to pull you in on page one and keep you turning pages until the very end. The character development evolves over time giving the reader perspective of each main character. There are cameos of those whom her readers are very familiar with, however one doesn’t need to read her catalog to grasp and enjoy the story. The plot and suspense build steadily, keeps you thinking you know ..when suddenly you don’t, taking you to heights and bringing you down to a wonderful conclusion. There are moments of sadness, true family values, service and loyalty to country, humor, humility, subtle spice, and hints of things to come. Definitely a recommended read…one of her best. Grateful to have received an ARC of this book.

This book has everything you want in a romantic suspense! It’s a brother’s best friend/teammate, found family and all the twists and turns that keep you guessing (and gasping out loud) until the very end! It’s is filled with characters you love and a couple of characters you love to hate. I really enjoy how Brittney Sahin has such strong, yet vulnerable characters and makes them even better with a little TLC from the right person. This book is a wonderful journey of healing love for Alejandro and Audrey! There are cameos from Brittney’s other books so you can keep up with how their happily ever afters are thriving. This book can absolutely be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the first book in the series, Against All Odds first. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Mini Spoiler-My biggest pet peeve is the Russian Roulette pregnancy trope, but that being said Audrey and Alejandro are fire.

I've been reading Britney's books for the about 3 years now and I started with Falcon Falls, and at this point I am going to need crime scene board with red or yellow string to keep track of all the cameos and crossover characters. But that's what makes her so great. Tying all these stories together takes real thought and talent and Britney's got it in spades. Her characters relationships burn hot and fast but they last, and Audrey and Alejandro are no different despite the ghosts and betrayals from both of their pasts. And from what I can tell, I'm not military nor is anyone in my family, but she does her research and makes her operators and their missions are real as possible. 5 stars, hopefully Reed's story is ready soon!

Brittney Sahin did not disappoint us but she never does!

Into the Deep is book 2 in the Delta Shield Security Group Series and gives us Alex and Audrey’s story.

Just as she does in all of her books, Brittney takes us on a journey watching Alex and Audrey find true love is nothing short of exceptional.
Neither Alex or Audrey wanted a relationship but after her life gets shaken up, Alex is the one to protect her. Lines become blurred and romance flares to life as they work together to find the truth.

Be sure to read Against All Odds, book 1 before reading this as the characters will make more sense.

Man, I devoured this book. Audrey and Alejandro’s story was epic. Like always, Brittney superbly balances fast paced action with weaving a beautiful love story. Characters we know and love appear while she introduces new characters we can’t help but want to get to know. I loved this and you will too.

Another great book by Brittney Sahin. I loved Alejandro. He didn't let his ex-wife break him, and still gave his heart out again, and I just loved that for him. So much suspense, and a great read!
