A small-town yoga teacher finds something real with a linebacker posing as a lumberjack in this sharp and spicy romance from USA Today bestselling author Sara Ney.

With rugged good looks and muscles for days, Harris Bennett stops traffic no matter what he’s wearing—flannel shirt or football jersey. So when management sends him to Star Lake, Washington, for a team-building retreat, it’s no wonder a local mistakes him for a lumberjack. And Harris leans right into the misunderstanding. Because that “local” looks amazing in yoga pants.

Lucy LeBrandt is a yoga instructor with trust issues: She doesn’t have time for men. But she’s definitely drawn to the hot, goofy lumberjack who seems to know nothing about, well, lumberjacking. He’s only in town for a week. Maybe she can squeeze him in between classes…

Harris has no idea what to do with an axe, and Lucy has no idea what to do about Harris. But they both know exactly what to do when they’re alone together. Can they split the difference between them, or is their romance just one stroke away from “TIIIIIMBER!”?

This book gave me some mixed feelings. The rom-com premise was nice, and the idea of a “fake lumberjack” who’s actually a football player was entertaining and had a lot of potential. There were definitely moments that made me smile.

That said, while the story was light and easy to read, it didn’t fully click for me. I found myself wanting a bit more depth from the characters and their development. The romance was cute, but fast, I didn’t feel as invested as I hoped to be.

Overall, Falling for the Fake Lumberjack is a decent rom-com with some enjoyable moments, but it may work better for readers who prefer very light, straightforward romances.

‘I don’t think I want safe anymore.
I want fire.
I want electricity.
I want something that shakes me awake, something I feel in every nerve ending- something like him.’

It has been a minute since I read a Sara Ney book. I have quickly been reminded just how much I enjoyed her over the top MMC’s and her witty writing ways. Harris is BIG ENERGY, over the top, but a total sweetheart. Lucy is a gem. Satisfied mostly with her life, coasting along until Harris shows her how much joy is missing from her life. I cannot tell you how many times I literally laughed while reading this book. The banter is on point, the swoon real, and the lead for the next book included.

Harris Bennett is sent on a team-building retreat with his football team. To say this has him underwhelmed is not an exaggeration. Activities about bonding, trusting, and deeper connections, no thanks.

Lucy has lived in the small, but popular lake town of Star Lake, Washington her whole life. Living above her parents garage, running a yoga studio, and having a bestie who knows her inside and out.

The town is taken over by the football team, her bestie on edge because of the upcoming fall fest that needs to go off without a hitch, and no sight of Mr. Right.

Life takes an unexpected turn when she quite literally runs into a stranger who gives off rugged outdoorsman vibes. One she thinks is Annabelle’s missing Lumberjacks.

Amused and attracted by Lucy, Harris plays along.

Cue in yoga on the dock gone wrong. Amazing foot massages that lead to a make-out session having Harris acting like an inexperienced teenager. Romantic gestures like climbing a trellis, which works out way better in the movies. A not so cute-meet with the parents. And, naughty time in the woods that leads to poison ivy being in places you especially don’t want it.

This book will keep you entertained and the pages turning.

This was such a cute, fast read! I really appreciated that there was no third act breakup, which honestly made the story even more enjoyable for me.

This was also my first time reading from this author, and I had a really good experience. I was able to do immersive reading, and I genuinely liked the narration it flowed well and kept me engaged the whole time.

Everything felt super fast, though. The main characters basically fall in love over a single weekend, and then the epilogue takes place only about a week later, which left me wanting more. I was kind of expecting a little extra at the end something that showed more of their future together or how things settled long term.

That said, I’m hoping that book two will give us more insight into their relationship and let us see how things develop between them. Overall, a sweet, quick read that left me curious for what’s next.

Thank you The Author Agency for the eARC and Brilliance Publishing | Brilliance Audio for the audiobook.

I can always count on Sara giving me a book that makes me laugh out loud. Lucy is a yoga instructor for the resport that Harris and his teammates are staying at for "team building". When she mistakes him for one of the lumberjacks for the fall festival, hilarity ensues.
Harris is a pro football player, not a lumberjack. He absolutely has no idea what he is doing, but he's going to go along with it because that is what Lucy thinks and they obviously need help. He's skipping team building for lumberjack practice and spending time with Lucy. What was supposed to be a week getaway is now something he doesn't want to let go of.
Lucy knows that Harris is just here till the festival, and when she finds out he is a pro football player, she doesn't feel like her luck with him will fare much better, but she is falling hard, and falling fast.
Their story was just adorable and what I come to expect from my Sara Ney books. They don't give me anxiety, they make me feel lighthearted and always make me smile. This book was a great escape from real life!

Read if you like: small town, hidden identity, romcom, fast burn

This book was fine, it started off well but then fell flat. I didn’t feel any chemistry between the main characters. I couldn’t connect to them and I wasn’t yearning for them to get together. I guess it’s difficult to make a romance believable after spending 1 week together.

There was no depth to the characters, I think the author tried to give Harris a backstory but it didn’t go anywhere. He came across as super cocky at first then turned goofy. Lucy is such a boring character, she literally has nothing going on and even the story about her exes invoked zero emotion from me. The dialogue felt so stiff between them and the “banter” was forced. Also the fact that they used a condom the first time, then all of a sudden no protection was mentioned and they didn’t communicate about not using it anymore - but they spent the rest of the book banging?

Harris describing the yoga scenes had me laughing. He is so dramatic, it was great 😂

He doesn’t say I love you back to her in the epilogue?? Whatttt??
I was hoping for a HEA but we get a HFN. There’s no epilogue for their future, does that mean they just continue to do long distance? Who sacrifices their career and moves? It was wrapped up so quickly the ending felt unsatisfying. I didn’t want Annabelle’s POV, give me their 5 or 10 year epilogue!! 😤

Harris, an American football star, heads into the woods for a team retreat and ends up being mistaken for a lumberjack by Lucy, the town’s yoga instructor. Instead of correcting her, he plays along and trains for a festival he’s wildly unqualified for.
But when the truth comes out and Harris has to go home, will their romance survive?

I absolutely loved this story. Harris is a total golden-retriever (Labrador) hero — funny, romantic, accident-prone, and completely smitten with Lucy from the very beginning. He definitely falls first… and more than times after that 😂😂. I’m really hoping there’s a second book for Annabelle

This was super adorable and just a fun, sweet, low stakes read and I loved it. The mistaken identity trope was the perfect not so meet cute for these two. And Harris was an absolute golden retriever and so very down bad for Lucy.

This one kept me giggling from beginning to end and was just what I needed today.

The audio was fantastic. I loved listening to Ruby Corazon, Alex Knox and Lexi Maynard bring these characters to life. Thank you so much to Brilliance for the advanced copy!

Falling For The Fake Lumberjack is the first book in the new series called axis and Endzones by serrin A,(I apologize if anything is misspelled my phone is messing up and I cannot get the spelling just FYI I am blind and use voiceover,) the book is about Harrison and Lucy Harrison‘s coach sent him on a retreat something he calls forced fun and it is in this town where he meets yoga teacher Lucy and of course after a few misunderstandings they fall in love. When it comes to romance books the recipe is always the same it is the nuance in details that makes it worth reading but when this book started in Harrison started whining and complaining he really came off as a big baby and I can’t fathom who would find that attractive at all. I liked Lucy a lot more although she did say things such as I have to get up at the ass crack of Dawn and although that is funny IDK it just came off as uncouth or uncivilized maybe… It may just be me but I had no interest in these two and only finished the book because I said I would read it and write a review and here is my review. If any of this sounds funny or attractive to you do read it I do like the authors other books I’ve read but sadly this one not so much. That is not to say I won’t read the next book and the series because I absolutely will I just Hope the guy is dreamy and the girl more civilized or if not doesn’t use her ass crack as an analogy. #NetGalley, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #SerrinA, #TheFakeLumberjack,

Harris Bennett is a football player forced to participate in a small town summer team building retreat but he is not having it. He didn’t like summer camp when he was a kid and he doesn’t want to participate in fishing nor hikes nor yoga. While he is off ditching class, he literally runs into Lucy LeBrandt, the yoga instructor who has never really left their small town. After a collision spilling coffee all over both of them (would it be a romance novel if there wasn’t a spilled drink at some point), she jumps to the conclusion that Harris is one of the substitute lumberjacks her friend hired for a lumberjack contest/demonstration for the holiday season because why else would a super built dude be wandering around their small town. Harris decides to go with her assumption and spends the next week convincing Lucy to give him the time of day.

This was a fun book; initially I did not like Harris because he seemed so cocky and just angry about "mandatory fun” but he grew on me when his dorky, goofy side came out like when he tried to climb a trellis, or freaking out over bears. He just felt much more human then, instead of a smarmy professional athlete. Lucy has some insecurity about living a small life in her home town and still living over her parents’ garage but she is sassy and sarcastic and gives Harris a lot of crap which is very enjoyable. She does think he’s a lumberjack for quite a long time but we’ll just go with the premise because it’s fun.

There were a few minor things that I did have questions about though: in the beginning, they definitely talked about condoms and birth control but about half way through the book, they stopped mentioning it and as far as I can tell they stopped using them. I don’t know if somehow I missed a conversation they had or the book just assumes it happens but that threw me off, especially since contemporary books generally at least talk about condoms/birth control/STIs. Also, they feed peanut M&Ms to a deer…I looked it up, deer can eat a little chocolate but it’s not really good for them. Don’t give them chocolate. Lastly, the romance seems to go very quickly, over a week or a long weekend? They go from zero to in love so quickly and then we reached the end of the book and skip to the epilogue. I feel like it needed a little longer to wrap up the story. It definitely felt like they left a lot of room for a sequel especially about Lucy’s friend Annabelle.

Overall, this was a solid rom com. The characters are fun archetypes with witty banter and sass coming out of their ears, the premise of mistaken identity is a classic, and the conflict is relatively low stakes which is great if you are not a person into deep angsty characters. Bonus if you enjoy lumberjack shenanigans.

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25

Falling for the Fake Lumberjack by Sara Ney builds on a clever premise and turns it into a charming, feel-good romance that is both sexy and surprisingly sincere. The mistaken identity setup works beautifully here, not just as a joke, but as a way to strip Harris Bennett of his celebrity status and let him be seen as a regular guy, even if he is a very muscular and attractive one. Watching a professional linebacker happily play along as a clueless lumberjack adds a layer of humor that carries through the entire story and makes Harris immediately likable.

Lucy LeBrandt is a strong, grounded heroine whose hesitation around relationships feels earned rather than frustrating. Her trust issues are handled with care, shaped by past experiences instead of exaggerated drama, which makes her choices feel realistic. As a yoga instructor rooted in her small town, Lucy values stability and control, and the idea of getting involved with a man who is only passing through is everything she tries to avoid. The tension between her desire for Harris and her need to protect herself creates a steady emotional pull that keeps the romance engaging.

The chemistry between Lucy and Harris is undeniable from their first interaction. Their banter is playful and sharp, filled with teasing moments that highlight how well their personalities complement each other. The spice is confident and fun without overpowering emotional development, allowing the relationship to feel balanced rather than rushed. Sara Ney excels at blending humor with intimacy, and the result is a romance that feels lighthearted while still offering emotional depth.

The small-town setting of Star Lake adds an extra layer of warmth to the story. It creates a cozy backdrop that contrasts nicely with Harris’s larger than life football career and reinforces the idea of slowing down and finding something real. The limited time frame gives the romance urgency, raising stakes, and making every shared moment feel important.

Falling for the Fake Lumberjack is an entertaining and satisfying read that delivers exactly what readers expect from Sara Ney. It is funny, flirty, and heartfelt, with characters who feel genuine and a romance that grows naturally out of connection and choice rather than convenience. This book is perfect for readers who enjoy small town romances with strong chemistry, witty dialogue, and a hero who is confident enough to be both swoony and silly.

Small Town romance where a pro-football player pretends to be a lumberjack in order to impress the hot yoga teacher? Sounds like a great time!

Falling for the Fake Lumberjack is the first book in the Axes & Endzones series by Sara Ney- and it connects with Not Yours series but not in a way that you HAVE to read that series in order to enjoy this book.

And I did enjoy this book.

Harris and Lucy's story at its core is fun, flirty and a lighthearted read- I just felt like it had so much more potential. As a whole I'm not sure that we really get to know these characters beyond a bit of a surface level. With their romance already being a bit of a whirlwind (it all happens over the course of a week) I fully got the lust and attraction between these two, Harris and Lucy just clicked in all the best ways, even if Lucy was oblivious to some of Harris' flirting early on. Their banter was fun, their flirty texts made me smile and there was for sure plenty of comedic fun with Harris' teammates and other situations he and Lucy found themselves in. I'm just not sure that anything between them exactly screamed more than a fling between them, besides the story explicitly saying that. And for Harris to essentially manipulate a love confession out of Lucy when they hadn't even know each other for a full month, then not reciprocate the sentiment? I was absolutely BLOWN!

Maybe this was done intentionally since the story ends with more of a HFN rather than HEA, and hopefully we'll see their relationship withstand more as the series continues with Annabelle's story but I'm left wanting something more substantial, even if it was a fun read.

“I want something that shakes me awake, something I feel in every nerve ending—something like him.”

Falling For The Fake Lumberjack is a light, low angst romcom that leans hard into humor and delivers exactly what it promises: laughs, banter, and a delightfully ridiculous case of mistaken identity. When Lucy bumps into Harris and immediately assumes he’s one of the lumberjacks hired for the town festival, he decides to roll with it—partly to impress her, partly because he and his football teammates are already in town for a bonding retreat and, honestly, why not? Their verbal sparring kicks off instantly, and so do the sparks.

The flirty, snarky back and forth between Lucy and Harris was easily my favorite part. A few scenes had me laughing out loud at just how unhinged their antics got. Harris starts off with a hint of grump, but he quickly reveals himself to be a lovable goofball, and I adored watching that shift. Lucy is a total spitfire, and seeing her push past her comfort zone added a nice layer to the chaos. Their supporting cast—Harris’s teammates and Lucy’s best friend—brings even more humor and energy to the story.

While the timeline felt a bit rushed and I would’ve loved more space for Lucy and Harris to deepen their connection (and maybe a peek further into their future), the overall experience was still charming. The characters are delightful, and the story delivers plenty of heat, heart, and humor.

This was cute & hilarious - Harris goes to a small lake town with his NFL teammates for “bonding” & meets Lucy - but pretends he is a hired lumberjack to impress here - news flash - Lucy is not impressed. Lucy also doesn’t date tourists… unless Harris. What will happen when he comes clean and admits he is not, in fact, a lumberjack?

Tropes:
🪓 small town
🪵 real lumberjacks (but not the MMC)
🪓 “just one night”
🪵 instaluv

Narration by Ruby Corazon, Alex Knox & Lexi Maynard - the audio is fun, Alex Knox is not who I’d choose for a spicy scene tho 😂

Quotes I enjoyed:

“What’s the point of being good at everything when you can be bad and have a little fun?”

“It’s fine. I’m fine.” She giggles, though we both know Annabelle uses the word fine the way other people use Bubble Wrap—to protect herself from having a meltdown.

Dislikes: I loved the beginning of this book, the couple has fun chemistry - but - the spicy seems are overwhelming. I found myself wishing the book would end because every other chapter was smut and… well… boring smut 🙈

SPOILER

….

..
.
I was also annoyed to Lucy was against love but found out that he had lied to her their entire relationship and just laughed about it, then move to AZ with him a week later 🙄

Will I continue this series? No.

This was one of those reads that I liked, it was enjoyable for the most part, but I didn’t fall in love with it. Which is not something that I had on my bingo card when it comes to this author ~ but here we are.

While I can see why others will fall in love with Harris and Lucy and their story, for me, I just didn’t get into their story. Harris didn’t really do it for me. I love me a cocky and charming MMC, but his style of it just didn’t hit the right buttons and while I did like Lucy, she’s a nice person, I just didn’t connect with her. So, their journey ~ while smexy ~ kinda fell flat for me.

And I guess that’s really how I feel about the book, it just kinda fell flat. There are some great moments with the football players and yoga and the lumberjacks practicing, but, for me, the character growth and small town touristy vibe (there are things but I’m not going to list them) just weren’t there. With all of that said, I am looking forward to Annabelle’s book and to get to know her when she isn’t a total stressball.

Falling for the Fake Lumberjack is a small town read with an insta lust/love kind of feel. Harris is in town for a retreat with his pro football team when he meets Lucy, a yoga instructor. From the beginning they banter back and forth, which was one part of the story that I really did enjoy. Unfortunately, there were a lot of inconsistencies in the early part of the book that made me question continuing on. Harris and Lucy are going to watch a movie and he is in Santa pajama pants but then it talks about his jeans. Lucy is described as being in sweatpants but then she has leggings. It is hard to focus on the actual story when there are inconsistencies in the smaller details. I also felt like this book was high on the spice scale but overall I didn't feel the chemistry or connection between the main characters so it just seemed like too much. I think there was a lot of promise with the premise and location of the story, but the execution fell flat. I am not sure that I would continue with the series.

Harris Bennett is a football player that is in Star Lake, Washington for a team building retreat with the other players on his team. Harris is suppose to be attending the workshops but skips out of them because he can. The morning after he arrives to Star Lake he runs into Lucy LeBrandt, the local yoga instructor. Lucy mistakes Harris for one of the missing lumberjacks that her bestfriend and party planner Annabelle Franklin is looking for. Star Lake is hosting a lumberjack competetion and Annabelle doesn't know what to do when only three of the eight show up for training. Luckily for Lucy and Annabelle's sake Harris plays along with the ruse. Lucy and Harris banter back and forth until they start to text and meet each other in between her classes and his lumberjack practices. Soon Lucy finds out that Harris is a famous football player and an actual lumberjack. This is a funny and spicy romcom that anyone would love. This is the first book of Ms Ney,s that I have enjoyed and it may not be the last.

Harris is a professional football player who goes to Star Lake with his team as a team bonding experience. While there Harris is mistaken for one of the lumberjacks that is supposed to be in town for the upcoming festival. He continues to charade when he spots Lucy, the yoga instructor that has caught his eye and he wants to impress.

Lucy is a yoga instructor with trust issues. She isn't looking for a relationship but when she spots Harris she is drawn to him and his antics but will she take the chance?

This small town story is a sweet read. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts even at their first meeting. My issue with this story is that for Lucy having so many trust issues she really did not have the reaction that one would expect when Harris's true identity came out.

Overall, this is a good read that is enjoyable. I'm not sure if I will read the next book of the series but I will recommend this first book to others.

Signs. I believe this is my official break up with Sara Ney. Honestly breaks my heart but this is the second book of hers that making MC an athlete but have him zero to do with actual sport the whole time, just makes me so mad.
You have a team of professional football players going on retreat but a) no one recognizes them. b) their couch who’s with them? Has no actual idea where his players are. c) almost zero group activity are on the page. d) and their MMC gets hurt??? Like dude. You’re under a contract. There is no way you would be falling off second story building. And e) participating in a lumberjack project where you can get serious hurt.
And the insta… I don’t even know what. Because I didn’t feel the lust and most definitely didn’t feel the love. Don’t tell me the ILY after two weeks.

Nothing about this worked. Absolutely nothing.

Falling for the Fake Lumberjack leans into fun from the start. Star Lake is a charming small town, the team retreat setup worked for me, and I genuinely liked both Lucy and Harris. Lucy being a yoga instructor was a nice touch, Harris is very much a cocky golden retriever, and his teammates brought some great humor. Annabelle easily stole scenes for me, and I’m already excited for her book.

Where the story wobbled a bit was the mistaken identity. It was entertaining, but it stretched my suspension of disbelief, especially once Harris was regularly around his teammates. Harris could also feel a little inconsistent, though his goofy moments and determination to impress Lucy were highlights. Overall, this is a quick, steamy, low-stress read that leans into fun, even when it gets a little absurd. I did wish for an epilogue to better wrap up Lucy and Harris’s future, but I still enjoyed this one and will happily continue the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC.

Overall I enjoyed Falling for the Fake Lumberjack. It is a quick easy to read rom-com about a professional football player who becomes an overnight lumberjack to impress the small town yoga teacher. The story is fast paced since the entire book takes place in the span of two weeks.

The ending was kind of lackluster for me. It didn't really seem like a guaranteed HEA more like a HFN. In the epilogue Harris pushes Lucy to say I love you but doesn't say it back. The way everything went down in the pool scene I wasn't 100% convinced that Lucy and Harris were endgame. The chemistry is there to make them being endgame believable. I would have appreciated the second epilogue to be one in the future maybe a couple years down the line instead of setting up Annabelle's book.

So this is my first experience with this author and I found I really enjoy her writing. But when I first met the MMC I really wasn’t sure I was going to like him in the beginning. Harris is there with his team to do teambuilding events. When he’s mistaken for a lumberjack, so he goes along with it. Because the person who mistaken them was Lucy, who is the local yoga instructor. And just the thoughts or what he said kind of rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning initially and that’s why it wasn’t sure if I was going to like him, but I actually did! I just had to get past the things, he was initially thinking in his head. Once their relationship started building it really changed and I really liked them together. The banter. The chemistry. It all came together. I will 100% be reading the next book in this series!

Usually enjoy Sara Ney books so much but with this one something was missing.
We have a nfl player, so sportromance element I dig so much, posing like a lumberjack because of mistaken identity and instant connection with the small town yoga instructor who's struggling to move forward after a Bad relationship.
It was fun, and I enjoyed the teammates dynamic, the small town characters popping and meddling around them. But it started to feel a little flat, It make me feel hungry for the usual chemistry between her main characters
And then we have that smooth end and epilogue and I need to read the next part, what's Annabelle up to. So 3.5/4 stars for letting me wondering and keep me wanting for more pages

Fake Identity
He Falls first
Sports romance
Yoga Teacher x Football Player
Dual POV - 1st person

Dual narration - Alex Knox , Ruby Corazon, & Lexi Maynard
Really enjoyed their performance of this fun rom com

Such a fun sports rom com with top shelf banter. I had a great time listening to this one.

Harris is in this small town for a team building retreat with his team. He is a bit of a grump, he definitely doesn't think the team building is needed. Trying to make the best of the retreat he explores the small town and gets himself a coffee when bam he meets an attractive yoga teacher. These two have chemistry immediately. Lucy mistakenly thinks Harris is a lumberjack and he plays along. After all he is only looking for a "retreat" hook up from her.

I really enjoyed this book. Sara Ney's writing is fun and flirty. Easy to follow and entertaining.

3.5 stars.
Good parts: There were some humourous scenes, the pacing was good, and I felt the chemistry between the two MCs.

Frustrating parts: While the scene was funny, Lucy comes across as either gullible or not-so-bright for believing Harris in their meet cute. This made the other characters' assertions that she was clever and smart unbelievable. She also came across as extremely unprofessional at the first yoga session that Harris attended-- to that point, what credentials does she have for teaching yoga?

I also didn't like that people pushed Harris when he was injured rather than letting him rest and wondered why it didn't seem like the coach had been informed.

Anyway, this was a funny read, just take everything with a grain of salt.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Oh My Gosh! Has there ever been a Sara Ney book I haven't enjoyed?
This one was no different!

It made me laugh and sigh in delight.

Harris pretending to be all that lumberjacky-ish.. lol too funny.

Were they things I could nit-pick? maybe, but this book delivered for me at a time I was struggling and it was very enjoyable. I loved the fact that yeah.. we do not know what exactly will happen in the future. I don't mind.. Happy for now is enough. Although now that I am writing this... gosh, could Sara Ney be planning more?

Looking forward to the next book in the series!!

Many thanks to Netgalley,Montlake and Author Sara Ney for the opportunity to read an share my unbiased thoughts.

You push, you pull, and you try to squeeze. But no matter how you do it, you still can't fit into those favorite jeans.

That's how this reader felt about this book. Tried, oh so hard, to invest in Harris and Lucy. Tried to pull for these two.

He ,the cocky football star who is a bit insufferable (see: his actions with his teammates) and Lucy (see: a bit annoying in how she 'claims' she's not looking for love but her actions show differently ).

Found their back and forth overly long texts tedious. The snark that the author possesses in her "Douchebag" series was conspicuously absent.

This ARC was provided by the publisher, Montlake, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sara Ney is nearly always a laugh out loud experience for me. This one didn't quite hit the mark unfortunately. Not a bad story and honestly, I'm not sure why it didn't hit right because it had all the promise of her usual stories but the banter just didn't seem to work like it usually does. Might be my own frame of mind (although I badly needed a funny rom-com at the time). Harris is absolutely charming and has his moments of hilarity and Lucy is cute. I get not wanting to get close to someone who is just going to leave and I get insta-lust (not my favorite), I just didn't FEEL that connection that brought them together. Might be a re-read when I am in a different frame of mind. It is cute, it is quirky and like I said, it has all the hallmarks of her usual stories, it just didn't wow me.

This book came at the perfect time. I was in a reading slump and I couldn’t find a book that took off. This book was absolutely heartwarming. I think I just needed a change in genre. But I absolutely loved the premise of this book. the characters, I fell in love with them easy and The silly moments really kept my interest. After meeting this author, I promised that I would read more of her books and this one did not disappoint. I absolutely love the characters the silliness. I laughed, and I felt my heart warmup it was sweaty and hot. But I also enjoyed the atmosphere. What a fantastic book I will be reading more of Sarah Ney

Thank you NetGalley for this book!
