One war is over — but more danger lurks in the galaxy.
After a surprising victory, Carter Ash finds himself leading a large civilization during a tumultuous time. But there’s no time to rest — The remnants of his former enemies still threaten his people’s stability, while an old foe grows ever stronger.
The only way to survive is to keep building the United Interplanetary Republic. With the help of a flirtatious scientist’s eager experiments, he struggles against increasingly bleak odds.
His people cannot stand alone against the threats of the galaxy, and Carter must find a path to victory and safety — Even if it costs him everything.
The War Mad Scientist is a LitRPG adventure for discerning adults.
Truly a phenomenal series, once you start you can’t put it down. The characters really drive the story and every challenge the face is thrilling. I cannot wait for the next one!
While I enjoyed this book, it wasn't as good as some of its predecessors in the series.
The MC's new LI for this book is the one on the cover, who happens to have 3 breasts, and speaks like a "Valley Girl" by saying "Like" ever other sentence. The valley girl phase was an abomination on reality for anyone that lived through it, and so I found her exceedingly annoying. She's the UIR's top researcher, and she talks like she's got fluff for brains.
The MC continues to punch way above his weight class when it comes to levels and his game civilization ranking. So many of his skills are just overkill for anyone his level, and inevitably help take down foes much stronger than him. There's so much math involved in his skills that they become almost mind boggling in their power.
I'll read the next book, but the recycled antagonist thing is not a favorite trope of mine. Bringing book 1's antagonist back for book 8 wasn't great, and she'll be the antagonist for book 9 at the very least, so we'll keep seeing the same thing over and over.
Alternate universe, advanced technology, game universe, base building, aliens, harem adult situations
Carter adds another women to his harem, and has fended off the hostile neighbor and defeated another. Plenty to unpack. Lots of action and character development. Above average editing. Enjoyed. Looking forward to the next book!
