“Well, they say they’re supposed to look like sisters, not identical twins.”
“Right now, mine look like very distant cousins. So distant that legally, they could get married.”
Yep it’s banter like this about eyebrows that has us laughing out loud at Meg Easton’s portrayal and humour of the human psyche. Crikey she’s a pearl and not wanting of haunting descriptions either. Can you believe her fun situations ? They work as they ought ,some even fraught and a lesson taught .
But told with aplomb and bold as they come. The characters are real to life . Larger than life even . And that’s the attraction of her exciting ,fast paced style. Always emits a smile with her keen wits that makes it worth while reading in the wee hours because you’re drawn in even though it’s almost morning and you’ve not gone to bed because the characters won’t get out of your head.
Not that I blame them it’s gotta be cosy , there’s enough to keep them occupied cos clear my head? I’ve tried . There’s a busy township ,a fellowship of Jane’s things instead of those jewels and rings …
Anyway I digress . There’s a lot going on in this book. I mean the title should tell you what you’re entitle to read at speed and with gusto if you must know but . Here you go…Miles Lancaster ,Spy ..
There’s this gal by the name of Reese ,she has a roomie called Charlie ,she’s Miles’s sis if you please. Reese doesn’t know why Miles is aloof but without evidence ,she hasn’t the proofs of an administrator questioning nor mentioning anything profound as yet. She is openly sharing because she’s caring about what’s going on and what her monicker is on.
Reese is a researcher ,founder of knowledge and technology,well she’s a librarian but much much more and she’s having to go undercover to settle a score.
Meanwhile she’s about to be hit with the truth about Miles’ double life and after five years she’s having a hard time getting her head around its impact on her own life. Mystery and their history shared as she thought…
Now the thing is ,is she so overwhelmed,overwrought that she’s having her doubts about her friend’s goal and whether she knows him at all.
Somehow their friendship status and their other activity cross over each other with such hilarity. It’s clarity she’s after and an happy ever after on the horizon? Well it wouldn’t be in the realm of surprising. Even though she’s kept him at arms length . Give her strength because there’s one thing Miles doesn’t know about her too

I think I say this with every new book in this series but here I go again...this one is my favorite so far!!! I have seriously loved all of these books, and maybe I love this one even more because of seeing the family of spies and the previous main characters continue on in this most recent book. Whatever it is, Meg Easton has created a series that I am all in and here for!!! I need more and declare that she can't stop writing these books! They're FANTASTIC!!!
And let's just bask in the fact that this is a Best Friends to More trope! *Happy Sigh* I love a good Best Friends to More. She did an incredible job writing Reese and Miles's story. I was enjoying looking at some other reviews for it and so many of them declared this to be THE BEST Best Friends to More book they've ever read. I have to agree that it is seriously up there in my top 5 (all of them being #1 of course).
It was pure delight while reading this book. Especially the set up of them having their spy movie/tv series night! That was so much fun to have in their story. I loved it because it reminded me of my family. We sure love watching clean, cozy murder mysteries, or spy shows, and we all have to make a bet within the first 3 minutes of the show of whodunnit, how, and why. Then of course we adjust throughout but we love seeing if any of us were right with our initial guesses. So I of course connected with Reese and Miles over that.
They're just too adorable! I loved the line in the book that (I'm paraphrasing) basically says that their history and backstories are so intertwined together after being friends their whole lives. Isn't that just the greatest?! The actual quote is much better. *Winks*
I loved the big reveal for when Reese realizes that Miles is a spy. And when she realizes how interconnected all of their friends are. Ooof! I'm sure it hurt some too. But I loved watching how she processes and how he explains and doesn't try to explain it all away but let's her process and feel and ask questions. And let's just say when she finally decides that moving him out of the friend zone is worth it (she just didn't want to lose their friendship), you're going to be giggling and cheering out loud for them!!! Whoop Whoop!!!! I just adore these two so much!
And all of the fun spy elements, and missions, and problems, just made the book even that more FANTASTIC!!! Of course that's my opinion, but I'm sure you'll agree when you read it.
I do suggest reading this series in order. You could technically read them as standalones, but I promise the enjoyment factor of this series is a LOT higher when reading them in order!!! I don't think you'll be disappointed by reading the previous books. They are so worth it!!!
Content: Clean. Some mild moments of peril, fighting, and spy stuff. But I loved how the author wrote it in a sensitive and clean way. Just goes to show that you can have fantastic books and be very engaged and entertained, all while the book is clean. The chemistry between Reese and Miles is fantastic as well, and clean! Some kisses but nothing further.
I received a copy from the author but will be purchasing a physical copy to add to my collection of the other paperbacks! They look amazing on my bookshelf! All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Another excellent book for the Romancing the Spy book series! I love the easy friendship that Miles and Reese shared with each other. There were legitimate obstacles in the way of a relationship, but I love how they both realized those things didn’t change who they were and how they each felt.
Favorite parts:
-the “engagement” party madness
-when Reese finally knew about Miles being a spy. Everything about the day/evening.
-their first date that was perfect for them.
-all of the Lancaster siblings and their commentary. Especially Charlie. She was hilarious.
-the kidney stone. Ohhhh dear. (And the nicknames).
-their games they play when people watching or watching tv
Favorite quotes:
“I can miss him without it being a thing.”
Charlie says nothing, but I can practically feel the look she’s giving me. I sigh. “What?”
“Are we still pretending you and Miles are a strictly best-friend situation?”
“You think it’s only other people keeping track of you? You look out for others at least as much. It’s the way it’s supposed to be. We all help each other. People need people.”
I shake my head, not entirely convinced. “No. I bring chaos.”
“Not chaos. Adventure.”
“‘Adventure’ is just a nice way of saying ‘chaos.’”
“I like the chaos you bring.”

Another great book in this series. Enjoyed the characters and the H and h talking to each other. They met in college and have been best friends ever since. The H loves the h but can’t tell her because she refuses to be more than best friends. The H is a spy and the h is a middle school librarian. They are together every day that the H is not gone on a case. Their favorite pastime is to create and solve mysteries. They both are very good at doing it but the H is more observant and has taught the h many things including self defense. When the h follows the H to get her purse when he is on a case she accidentally gets on the criminal’s radar. The h doesn’t even know what she has done because she doesn’t know that he is a spy. Then the H begins to think that he needs to tell the h what he really does and then tells her. She realizes that the skills he has when they are playing their favorite game is based on his job. As things progress with the case that the H is on and they are about to catch the criminal in the act the h is captured by the criminal’s accomplices and held captive, and although skillfully interrogated she is never tripped up. When the interrogator gets a phone call the h seizes the opportunity to escape and get help. There were fellow spies pursuing the h and they get there after she gets shelter with neighbors. The H, not knowing what is happening with the h, skillfully carried out his mission to a successful completion. The couple gets a HEA. Recommend that you get this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Enjoy.

Reese loves bees, books, and the kids coming into her library. She needs to knows so many things to keep up with the kids. But she does not know that Miles, her best friend for five years, is a spy. Or that his family are almost all spies. When Miles decides he wants to make their relationship more, he needs to tell her the truth and he has no idea how she will react. Mix in bad guys, interrupted talks, a lost purse leading to a compromised op, and even a surprise delivery to keep things interesting. A wonderful read. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

A Hilarious Spy RomCom
I love the spy angle and the whole Lancaster family. What really made this book shine for me was the witty one liners. Miles and Reese have the best conversations and text exchanges! She’s quirky and he meets her right there.
“Every dark SUV we pass appears suspicious. Miles catches me watching one through the side mirror. “That’s a family coming home from a soccer tournament.”
“You don’t know that.”
“There are three children in uniform in the back seat.”
“They could be tiny operatives.”
“They’re eating fast food.”
“Maintaining cover requires commitment.”’
I loved the humor, but how they were also there for each other for the deep things too. If you’re a fan of the friends to lovers trope, this is a must read!
And the scene where Miles finally tells Reese that he’s a spy. Priceless! I can’t say enough good things. Go read the book!

I love this series and the Miles/Reese's story confirms that the past three books weren't flukes...not that I had any doubts! Each story presents different family members that are connected through the family spy business as well as by bloodlines. This time It's Miles (Ledger's twin) and his best friend since college, Reese. They share so much. In addition to being best friends: her roommate is his sister, her mom is married to the man who is responsible for all their disguises at CSA, and his family is basically her family sharing holidays and family milestones. They even "play" spy games together. But due to Miles and family's abilities to keep business 100% separated from everyday life, Reese has no idea.
Fast moving, amazing characters, and emotional connections combine to make this series and this book an incredible reading experience. Each book left me thinking that there was no way the author could top that story with the next one. This book is the third time I have unbelievably underestimated the author! I especially loved this book because of Reese and her creative imagination!

I was blessed to be able to read an advance copy of Spies Don’t Fall for Their Best Friend. I opened the link immediately as I know from reading past books that Meg Easton always writes a fantastic story. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed this book so much that I can’t decide if I want to just turn around and re-read it, or if I should go back to the first book in the Romancing The Spy Series and re-read them all. I am not kidding you. You will be hooked at the beginning and stay hooked for the entire fast paced book. These books all have extremely strong story lines that pay special attention to every single detail that you can think of. I love the strong family ties and the high personal values that all of the characters have. It is heart warming in today’s crazy world. The suspense is intriguing and constantly changing. No spoiler alerts but I was especially taken with the lines: “I’m an intelligence operative. I know when survival depends on giving the correct answer.” I laughed out loud at the line and it’s perfect timing. And there was: “I increase my patience endurance daily.” which is something I think we all need. I could write more about this wonderful book, but I think I really need to go get “Spies Don’t Fall For Their Asset”, the first book in the series. It was published in 2023 and I really need to go back an enjoy all of the characters and their stories again. I am now “busy reading” and I suggest you do the same!

How to start telling you about this book: heart swelling, fantastic, wow just wow, so much fun, swoony—I never use words like swoony—and in the case of this romcom there are so many more I could add and still not do it justice. It’s that good!
Meg has a gift for writing well rounded and very interesting characters. Miles is very charming, loves his family, is good looking, a perfect friend, yet being a spy still works for him even if he has to keep it a secret. We’ve been given a glimpse into the life beyond disguises and danger, and I love it.
Reese is quirky, beautiful, great with kids, intelligent, and very forgetful but still has a depth to her character that makes me want to be her friend. She’s the perfect girl for Miles if she could just get beyond her own secrets and have confidence in their relationship beyond being friends.
I was glad to see so many friends from previous books in the series and the family dynamic that opens doors to those who need it and somehow expands its boundaries to accommodate more. I am going back and read the previous books all over again.

Oh, how I loved Reese and Miles! It's no secret that I have loved this series right from the first book... each story gives the perfect blend of adventure and romcom... with all the great tropes I love! And this time we get Reese and Miles' friends to love romance... and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! These two had such a sweet friendship. I loved their easy chemistry and banter... it had me smiling right from the very start. I loved seeing them making that switch into something beyond friendship... in a way that felt just right for them! Once again, I found myself enjoying being brought back into this world of a family of spies. If you're looking for adventure that will keep you guessing, humor that will have you laughing out loud and romance that will make you swoon, this book/series is one not to be missed! I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next!

Gah! This is THE BEST friends-to-lovers rom com I have ever read.
I mean, when you've got quotes like these:
"Right now, [my eyebrows] look like very distant cousins. So distant that legally, they could get married."
"Someone whose history is so tangled up with mine that we couldn't tell one story without telling the other. To have our whole lives as a shared backstory."
"I hate when my mother says something reasonable while I"m trying to catastrophize"
...you know the book is going to be good!
Reese and Miles were just the cutest. Reese was a blundering, fun-loving, energetic, artsy soul who will win you over instantly. And Miles matched her step for step! Reese needed a green flag guy who would love her for who she is, and Miles delivered.
Also- the drama was so minimal. Hallelujah! You get so much depth and heart-wrenching moments as you see what Reese and Miles go through during the course of the book, but without any unnecessary drama. You'll just got green flags and happy days and belly laughs all around.
And the spy stuff! It was suspenseful and laughable and just so fun to read. I loved reading about another Lancaster who was in the field; it made it more dramatic!

Even though I haven't read the previous books in this series yet, this book has convinced me that I need to! I'll definitely be purchasing the earlier instalments.
Spies Don’t Fall for Their Best Friend is a wonderfully entertaining friends-to-lovers romance with the perfect blend of humour, heart, and suspense. Meg Easton has created characters who feel authentic and relatable, making it easy to become invested in their journey. The chemistry between the main characters is engaging, and their friendship provides a strong foundation for a romance that feels natural and believable.
The storyline is well crafted, fast-paced, and kept me hooked from the very first page. Plenty of moments made me smile, and the spy-themed elements added an extra layer of fun and excitement.

Once again Meg Easton has produced a totally engaging and entertaining rom-com in her Romancing the Spy series. Take Miles Lancaster, an organised and focused intelligence operative/spy who spends his days chasing down criminals or carrying out surveillance while his best friend Reece Wilder, is a libarian at the local middle school who has the ability to misplace her belongings regularly. They have been best friends for five years and share a range of fun activities such as murder nights, people watching where they create back stories for total strangers as well as regular texting conversations throughout the day. Unbeknown to Reece, Miles is not in client relations at his cover job and has been in love with her for years, but due to his job and Reece not wanting to lose her best friend, their relationship has never developed further. Then something happens that causes both of them to reconsider their friendship. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with its laugh out loud moments and I eagerly await the next book in the series.

Meg Easton has crafted two really great characters with Miles and Reese—so winsome, smart, and appealing. I love the best friends to more trope but sometimes books can drag it on until I get bored—but not this one. Miles and Reese both have some legit reasons for fearing making their romantic feelings known. There is nothing more heart-melting than a strong man who can be tender and Miles was particularly irresistible in his interactions with his niece and other small family friends. Reese, due to some past medical problems that stacked the odds against her being able to give him children, loved him too much to deny him that hope for a family. And Miles, having a dangerous job, was afraid of putting Reese’s life in danger. I loved the way they faced these concerns, acknowledging they were serious and yet choosing the risks. Last but not least, I loved the witty banter in this book. So clever and funny. It kept me smiling throughout. Highly recommend! I received an ARC from the author. Oh, I love this series. In this book we have Miles and Reese’s story. They have been friends for five or so years, but were too scared to lose the friendship to consider anything more. Miles is in the family business, if you know, you know. But Reese knows nothing about it. She is the librarian at a local school. She is quirky, scattered, and the kindest person you would ever meet. The story has a little bit of mystery, suspense and romance. The banter is top-notch in this book, the jokes and puns will either make you roll your eyes or laugh out loud. I love the connection of the characters, the trials they go through and the admiration they have for each other. And you cannot help but love the Lancaster family. I am so excited to read Blake story next. I highly recommend reading the series in order, you will not be disappointed.

I’ve enjoyed the other books in this fun romcom series so I looked forward to reading this new one and it didn’t disappoint me. Miles and Reese are best friends and I enjoyed the fun, witty banter between them. They secretly liked each other but didn’t want to ruin their best friends relationship. Of course Reese doesn’t know that Miles is an intelligence operative along with most of his family so he would need to come clean about that.
I really liked reading to find out what would happen if these two best friends admitted their true feelings for each other. This was such a fun romantic comedy that I couldn’t put the book down. I also enjoyed catching up with characters from previous books in the series. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

This series continues to be awesome! Miles and Reese were perfect for each other. A relationship built on best friend status is a great way to begin. Although they both have big secrets and haven't shared them in the 5 years they've been best friends, the core things that matter stay true. Yes, they are tested but will those secrets being them closer or end their friendship?
I so enjoyed their people watching adventures and murder-mystery nights! I liked how their personalities complemented each other too. Their hilarious banter made me laugh out loud at times. I also love Miles' spy family! It was great to catch up with all of them!

To be 100% truthful there is not one bit of this book I did not like. It's funny, action-filled, Reese and Miles make the best of best friends and even a better couple. You will be filled by happiness during and after reading.
There are no swears or alcohol and level 1 kisses only. Dual POV.
The best mom advice:
“You’re allowed to be afraid he’ll decide it matters too much. You are not allowed to make that decision for him because you’re afraid to hear the answer.”
“That,” I say, “was for the most perfect terrible first date I’ve ever had."
”Maybe a perfect night isn’t a night where nothing goes wrong. Maybe it’s what remains when everything does."

This was a laugh-out-loud, smile inducing, edge of my seat adventure that I could not stop reading. Action packed and witty.
Reese is so scatter-brained and I just loved her. Miles is the perfect calm and order to her whirlwind. These two just work. I love their friendship and how Miles always shows up for Reese and never lets her think badly about herself when she feels inadequate.
“This is one of the many things I love about Miles. He doesn’t simply tolerate my nonsense—he embraces it and enthusiastically contributes his own.”
Reese and Charlie’s friendship was also a favorite. The beekeeping scene had me in stitches.
The revelation of why Reese was hesitant to move beyond friendship with Miles made me a bit emotional but I loved how supportive Miles was when he found out.

Spies Don't Fall for Their Best Friend is a witty, he falls first, action packed, spy romance. Seriously, this series is the best. I think that when the series ends I will go back and read the entire series again! It is always great to reconnect with the Lancaster family. Miles and Reese are great together and for each other, but because of her secret, Reese will take some convincing. I was completely engaged from the first page and raced through the book. Then I was sorry I was finished. I love how Ms. Easton weaves the spy business into the romance as if it is just another day at the office! Her attention to the plot and the details is spectacular. Despite the seriousness of the business, there is also plenty of humor. It will be so hard to wait for Blake's story.

I've enjoyed all of the books in this series, but this one is definitely my favorite so far! It's James Bond meets the girl next door, and it adds so much depth to all of the characters in the Lancaster family.

I've loved all the books in this series. I've loved all of Meg's stories, but this series is particularly fun. I enjoy the family dynamics, the intrigue, and the interesting people the Lancaster siblings are falling for. This was no exception.
I'm a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope, and Reese and Miles have a lot of history. It's always interesting to see how people will react to finding out things aren't what they thought, and Reese was a real trooper. Loved it!

I love this series and this is a great addition. This story is full of fun banter, suspense and a sweet romance. It is a story that grabbed me from the beginning and couldn’t read fast enough to get to the end. Miles and Reese are best friends and so likeable, but they both have a secret that the other doesn’t know. I loved how the story developed, with twists and turns and adventures that surprised me, with some humor and of course a sweet and swoony love story and tender moments that brought tears to my eyes with how heartfelt it was. “I chose you a long time ago, Reese, and I’m going to keep choosing you every day.” A fantastic story to add to your TBR list.

A fun, cozy but not campy or cheesy spy & friends to more romance. I say this series is good for a reader who wants a litle bit of intrigue and action but not an intense spy type novel. The covert and action part of the story gets equal time with the romance and they blend together well. The heroine's personality really fit in well with the plot and how the story unfolded and utilmately ended. I know for some the friends to more trope is not a favorite. However, I thought the transition was done great, natural and seamless! Those two were sweet together. I think this could be read as a stand alone but best enjoyed as a series to get a fuller picture of characters in the book.

I loved this book from beginning to end. This series is fabulous and each book keeps getting better and better! Meg Easton’s attention to detail is phenomenal! Miles and Reese are the absolute best. They are so genuine and complement each other perfectly. They are witty, play the best games and keep you laughing, swooning, cheering and crying through every page. I’m so ready to read it again! I adore the entire Lancaster family and their strong ties to each other. All the characters you love in previous books are back. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense that you can laugh through and the whole feel of love for each other that just comes right off the page. You will love this book!
