Some people grow apart. We just paused - for six summers too long.
Cece wasn't supposed to see Theo again, not after the kiss they never talked about and the years of silence that followed. But when a summer escape to the South of France throws her back into the orbit of her former best friend, everything she thought she'd left behind comes rushing back.
Now Theo's tanned, tempting and every bit the boy who once knew her better than anyone. He's only in Nice for ten days, but the tension between them is impossible to ignore - and neither of them has forgotten how it felt to almost be something more.
One summer. One chance. And six years of unfinished business.
I write heartfelt, romantic fiction with all the things I love most: slow burns, found family, emotional depth, and a little bit of spice. My romance motto is: flirt first, kiss later.
My debut novel, The Imperfect Plan, released in 2023. My newest novel, Six Summers Apart, is the first in The Summer Hearts Series—a swoony, sun-drenched romance about old friends, missed chances, and unforgettable summers.
When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me daydreaming about beach picnics, rereading my favourite love stories, or working on a third-act twist in a café somewhere.
ANYA😭😭😭 The fact this is one of your very first books is truly astonishing. I am in awe. This was truly so dang sweet.
Second chance romances are hard to do. Its hard to connect two people back together from the past. But this truly was so perfect. 🥹
I am obsessed with Theo are how adorable he is. A man that obsesses and pines over his girl is always it 🥹 He was so patient. So kind. The small things he remembers and the affection he shows.
I had a whole movie playing in my head with the settings. I could picture the crossaints and the streets. How chaotic the settings were but also the peace in the shops. It was such a beautiful place to set a book. 🩷
Cecelia had a bad past with a relationship gone bad, but coming out strong on the other end to open her heart once more...it was truly beautiful. Theo knocked down her walls day by day.🤭
The characters were so loveable. I loved the connection we have with two bestfriends who are spending so much time together. It was so funny and sweet 🥹 I cant wait for book two 😭
👩🏼❤️👨🏽Second chance Romance ✨️ Friends to lovers ❤️🔥 Slow burn 🏖 Holiday Romance 🩷 He falls first
Thank you Love Notes pr and Anya for a earc in exchange for an honest review 🩷
This story follows Cecilia Hart, an aspiring author, and Theodore Finch. Celia and Theo were best friends six years ago, until Celia found herself in a relationship with another man. Six years later, Celia and her best friend, Siena take a three-month summer trip to Europe. During their stay in Nice, they unexpectedly run into Theo, who is visiting his hometown for a few days with his brother. As the pair keep running into each other, they decide to make the most of it and reconnect – after all it has been years since they’ve spoken. As they spend more time together, they find those unspoken feelings from six years ago are still very much there.
I loved this book so much – it was such a quick and light read. Both of the characters were so great, and I just kept thinking how nice it must be to be loved and wanted the way those two did each other. The way the author captured the characters’ emotions was incredible. Theo’s character was so great – he was almost too perfect to the point of it being unrealistic, but at the same time it’s a fictional story so that’s to be expected. I also loved the side characters – the banter between Nate and Siena made me want to read more about them, and the way Rae instantly forms a relationship with Siena was so cute. I would love to see a book on them in the future.
The writing throughout the story was so detailed and vivid that I could clearly envision everything, and it almost made me feel like I was in the book. The way the author describes the setting and the feeling of being in France just made me feel so nostalgic and reminisce my Europe trip from last summer. The way she described the breathtaking beauty of the architecture, how life seems to feel so much more slowed down, how you feel like you’re taking in all the moments and actually living in the present. It really made me want to just go back because she did such an incredible job describing that feeling.
Thank you to @lovenotes.pr and @anyaelizabethauthor for sending me this arc – I really enjoyed it and it helped me get out of my reading slump (yay!). This book comes out on October 1st, so be sure to add it to your TBR and give it a read!
This book was such a perfect holiday read! If you’re after a light, easy-to-follow romance that sweeps you away, this is the one.
Cece has spent the last six years in a relationship where she never truly felt wanted. After the breakup, she and her bestie Siena jet off for a three-month escape to France. There, Cece unexpectedly runs into Theo—the boy from her past who once made her feel everything she’d been missing. Theo is visiting his hometown in France with his brother Nate and his girlfriend Natalie. Though he’s with Natalie, he’s always carried feelings for Cece. When his relationship ends, he’s finally free to love her the way he’s always wanted.
Set against the backdrop of sunny, beachy Europe, with croissants, rosé, and endless summer vibes. The story follows Cece and Theo reconnecting after years apart. Their romance feels so natural and effortless, making the book a breeze to read. The atmosphere was absolutely chef’s kiss and had me daydreaming about booking my own European getaway.
I especially adored Cece and Siena’s friendship, their love for each other and hilarious banter really shone through and gave the book so much warmth.
And honestly, props to Natalie. She handled the situation far more gracefully than I would’ve, because if I had a man like Theo, I wouldn’t let him go so easily!
Let’s also talk about Theo and Cece’s chemistry—the tension was off the charts, and when things finally heated up, those spicy scenes did not disappoint.
Overall, I absolutely loved this story, and I’m already counting down the days until the next book comes out featuring Siena and Nate!
I also want to thank the lovely Anya for allowing me to beta-read this book and be on its street team! This review and all opinions are of course, my own and honest!
Loved, loved, loved this book. I was instantly transported, taking a tour of France through Cece’s eyes. Imagine being in a beautiful country then running into the one that got away? The yearning from both ends, the unanswered questions, the unmistakable pull to each other. This book has it all.
I felt everything in this book: heartache, longing, joy, love, butterflies, goosebumps, wanderlust, laughter, I can’t even name it all. Cece found her strength by leaving an emotionally, mentally abusive ex, and in the process she found herself, she made memories with her bestie, and she found love. Could you have a better summer? As someone who knows “un petit peu” of the French language, I loved the references, and the laughs that came out of me when I’d catch Cece’s slip ups before we find out what went wrong. Don’t get me started on Theo. Theo is chef’s kiss, golden retriever, caring, attentive, and down bad. That man melted me into a damn puddle, I swear. Mister Theo “You’re making it hard to be a gentleman.” Finch. SIR! These two have so much chemistry, they are meant to be. The characters have so much depth and don’t shy away from having real conversations.
I also loved the dynamic between Cece and her best friend Siena. Their relationship reminds me so much of me and one of my best friends. A few times I was thinking, did Anya write an actual conversation I just had with my friend? That’s how much I could relate us to those two characters. If you read this, you need to let me know who you think I am. Am I Cece or am I Siena? Knowing that book two follows Siena’s story is so exciting because I can’t get enough of this cast of characters. I am already longing for the next one so I can escape to another beautiful part of the world.
Honored to be a booksta friend first, then joined the street team promoting Six Summers Apart, and chosen as an ARC reader through Love Notes PR.

What to expect; -summer in France -friends to lovers -second chance -he falls first -slow burn
Loved, loved, loved this book. I couldn’t tell you the amount of times I spent smiling, giggling and swooning over this story. I felt the most joy reading this. Thank you Anya Elizabeth and LoveNotes PR for this arc.
The writing throughout the story was so detailed and vivid that I could clearly envision everything. The way Anya describes the setting and the feeling of being in France, made me feel so nostalgic. The way she described the beauty of the architecture, how life seems to feel so much more slower, how you feel like you’re taking in all the moments and actually living in the present.
The way Anya captured the characters emotions was incredible. Cecelia found her strength by leaving an emotionally, mentally abusive ex, I loved watching her find herself. She made memories with her best friend and found love. Theo’s character was great, he was almost too perfect to the point of being unrealistic. I also loved Siena and Nate, their banter made me want to read more about them, and the way Rae instantly forms a relationship with Siena was so sweet. I would absolutely love to see a book on them in the future.
Six Summers Apart by Anya Elizabeth completely captured me from the very first chapter. It’s tender, nostalgic, and full of the kind of emotion that lingers long after you’ve finished reading. Cece and Theo’s story isn’t just a second-chance romance, it’s a story about rediscovering yourself, healing from heartbreak, and realizing that some connections are too deep to ever really fade.
What makes this book so special is how effortless their chemistry feels. You can feel their shared history in every look, every hesitation, every memory that slips between them. Theo’s quiet devotion to Cece, the way he still remembers the smallest details about her, the way he never stopped caring even after six summers apart, absolutely melted me. He’s patient, thoughtful, and the definition of a “he falls first” love interest.
The South of France setting adds so much to the story, the cobblestone streets, the smell of croissants, the slow, sunlit days. It’s the perfect backdrop for a love that’s both gentle and all-consuming. I could picture every moment like a movie: Cece finding her strength again, Theo proving he’s still the one who knows her best, and their slow burn unfolding with perfect pacing.
The friendship between Cece and Siena also stood out to me, their banter, loyalty, and warmth added such a heartfelt layer. And I loved how Cece’s growth after a painful relationship felt authentic and empowering, showing that love can be soft and safe again after heartbreak.
Anya Elizabeth’s writing is vivid and emotional, with just the right balance of sweetness and ache. It’s romantic without being rushed, cinematic without feeling unrealistic, and it reminds you that some loves are worth the wait.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — 5/5. A beautifully written second-chance romance full of heart, healing, and the magic of finding your way back to the person, and the place that always felt like home.

If you’re already missing summer and want to live vicariously through someone else’s South of France adventures… this is the book for you. 🇫🇷☀️🍷
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5) | 🌶️🌶️ (2/5 spice level)
Six Summers Apart gave me all the “ahhh I need a plane ticket to Nice immediately” feels. The South of France setting honestly stole the show. And tell me, who wouldn’t fall a little in love with that backdrop?
The romance is sweet, angsty at times, and had me rooting for them. I loved the way Anya Elizabeth used six summers to build the tension and unravel their story. It’s sun-drenched, bingeable, and the perfect escape read.
If you loved Every Summer After or Love & Other Words but want it set in the South of France with all the vacation vibes — this one belongs on your TBR.
Perfect for: ☀️ Anyone already counting down to next summer 🍷 Fans of second-chance romance 📖 Readers who love books that double as a travel escape
I cannot believe this was a debut bookk!! it was sweet, there was longing and it was swoonyyyyy!!
As someone who had been to France, and knows a decent amount of the language I felt instantly taken back to my summer there, 8 years ago. I loved being able to see Cecelia grow, and find herself and her strength while on her journey, and I loved that although she found her true love she continued backpacking through Europe to truly discover herself after escaping her mentally abuse ex. I loved seeing her flourish with Sienna, and have such deep, well-rounded conversations and feelings with Theo.
I loved everything about this book, and im so so grateful I had the chance to recieve it as an ARC, the story was absolutely to die for, and I loveddddd the second chance trope that was the underlying theme of Six Summers Apart🩷
Definitely a recommendation from me, perfectttt for heading into the warmer seasons, especially on vacay 🙌🏻🤭

Tropes : ~ Second Chance ~ Friends to lovers ~ Slow burn ~ He falls first ~ Summer in France ~ The one that got away
Well, what a fun adventure this book was! From the first page I was hooked, I read this book in less than a day! The way this book was written pulled me in straight away and made me feel like I was experiencing what the characters were (if only I could smell the croissants). I adored our main characters, I found myself actually laughing out loud in some parts and smiling, I also really enjoyed seeing the relationships between all our other characters, Celia and Siena are literally friendship goals! I always love a dual POV, I loved seeing this story from both Celia and Theo’s point of view. When I say this is the perfect book for summer I truly mean it! I wish this book was longer, I wanted more time with these characters at the ending but overall such an enjoyable read and I would tell everyone to go read this, especially on a beautiful sunny day!
Six Summers Apart was an extremely immersive and magical reading experience! Anya made me literally feel like I was in all the places that her main character Cece had traveled to. It felt like the best vacation and I can literally feel like I was basking in the sun.
Cece was such a wonderful character! I admire her strength to leave a life that no longer served her. She chose herself in every way possible and it was beautiful seeing her grow and flourish to become the person she needed to be.
I also loved her friendship with Siena! They loved each other loudly and they made each other better people.
Okay and my main man Theo! Wow. Get you a man who knows what he wants. Theo is the epitome of a gentleman! He is literally so dreamy, and I love how much he encouraged Cece to put herself first. He also never failed to show her just how much he cared about her in the big and small ways. THESE TWO ARE WRITTEN IN THE STARS.
Highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a fun and swoon worthy romance book! I wish I can read it again for the first time!
This was so sweet! I loved the world building and how each traveled place was so well described. You'll want to eat pastries and drink wine after reading it! Theo was the ultimate golden retriever book boyfriend. I'm looking forward to the second book.
This book was cute. I loved that two best friends got to experience exploring the world. And not letting a break up ruin it. And falling for someone who came into one of their lives 6 years earlier. I enjoyed reading about the cute little niece that took her best friend away lol. I smiled, laughed and give it 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ spice 5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book was everything I needed and more! This book had so much emotion in it that I fell in love instantly. Celia had such strength and courage to walk away from her emotionally and mentally abusing ex boyfriend and to have a friend like Sienna who up and books a 3 month trip across Europe is amazing! Everyone needs a friend like her! Then there is Theo, and the chance encounter he has of seeing Celia again after 6 years! It’s like it’s fate! I love the emotion in this book and it made me cry multiple times but in the best way! It’s the perfect second chance romance and Theo is my favorite book boyfriend currently! To have a man that lets you go on the rest of your finding yourself journey and be there for you when you are done is amazing!! I love everything about this book so much
To anyone who looking for your spark again. It will come back; you just might have to look somewhere unexpected.
Six Summers Apart by Anya Elizabeth is a slow burn, second chance romance, characters based in England with a friends to lovers trope where he fell and falls first all over again. Starting this book you meet Cecilia Hart - newly single from a toxic relationship that used control, manipulation and gaslighting to keep her small - making her feel insignificant and full of doubt. Using this opportunity, Cecilia takes off on a three month trip backpacking through Europe with her best friend. As they naviagte this new euphoria and freedom, a chance encounter leaves Cecilia glimpsing back into the past - six years into the past to be exact. Meet Theo Finch, the man from Cecilias past and he's reemerged from the shadows of the past - completely and entirely unexpected. Theo has always seen Cecilia for who she was, knows her tells, when she is hiding things and everything that goes on in her perfect beautiful brain, but after an awkward night that led to him once again grasping for her too late; Theo cedes, removing himself from the picture because the pain of not being the one to kiss, hold and make her laugh was something he couldn't continue to endure to watch from the sidelines. Continuing to bump into each other, Cecilia and Theo's hearts are pulling them closer - an invisible tether that they cannot escape. Despite their own private apphrensions, they stay within arms reach but never crossing the line. One night on a beach leads Cecilia running once again, away from the feelings she has/had, from Theo and the realization that she may have been too late. But Theo isn't letting her go this time, not without lettting her know and feel his love, the words his heart has kept safe until he was ready to say them. After righting the wrongs, fixing the six-year ache that has them unraveling unspoken attraction and everything unsaid, they lay themselves bare with vulnerability and understanding that life takes it's toll on everyone, they fall into a cadence of balancing on the edge of fall or go back to bring friends. Determined to not let this second chance slip away to rectify an unfinished connection, they cautiously take this on; they have to let the walls down to begin again and they break them down together but they are working against time now. Promises said, words unspoken - life has them separated again but this time is different. Coming home felt different this time for Cecilia and she knew where it resided - in her Theo. It's their time now - it's a life filled with understanding, acceptance, obsessive love and affection.
Descriptive imagery, relatable elements from relationships to the want to be spontaneous and backpack for months across a new continent. A beautiful summer romance that has you stepping into Cecilias shoes and walking into the unknown and embracing the things you can't change and the things you can now. Accepting fate, that your time is coming and when it does - you'll have forgotten you ever hurt because you'll finally be getting everything you deserved.
Book : Six Summers Apart Genre: Romance Rating : 5 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
First of all, a big big thank you to @lovenotes.pr & @anyaelizabethauthor for giving me this incredible opportunity 🥺✨
Now about the book like omgggggg it’s an absolute masterpiece!! Like girl, what have you done??? How can someone write such a beautiful story that completely stole my heart 🎀❤️ I am usually a suspense-thriller fan, and I only pick up romance occasionally, but this book has raised the bar sooo high it’s going to be tough for anything else to match it ✨✨ This story is pure love like the kind of love we worship, crave, die for, and live for. It’s about our FMC, Cecelia, who has endured a toxic and unhealthy relationship, leaving her shattered and broken beyond imagination. On the other hand, we have Theo, our MMC, who has been searching for that feeling - you know that “home”for six years. They were once best friends who shared something special they never named, and fate brings them together again after all those years apart. Destiny plays its magic, and suddenly, they’re standing in front of each other once more. I won’t spoil the details because this is a story you need to read and feel yourself. It will touch your heart in places you didn’t even know needed healing. The moment they confessed their love literally made me sob & it felt like I had won the world.
And it’s not just Cece and Theo. I adored the bond Cece shared with Siena - honestly, if you have a friend like her, you can fight any battle. Nate, Theo’s elder brother, is another gem, carrying his own storms while standing strong for Theo. And last but not least, little Rae she is sooo cuteeee & yeah she is the life and soul of this entire story.
I think I should stop here 😭 but you can clearly see I am completely lost in this beautiful story. Honestly, I just want to wake up to this kind of love every single day 🎀❤️❣️
If you’re looking for the perfect summer romance to binge by the pool – or, for my Northern Hemisphere friends, to soak up the last golden rays of sunshine – this is it!
While holidaying with her best friend in the South of France, Celia unexpectedly reunites with Theo – six years after an unforgettable kiss. Old feelings resurface, and let’s just say… the chemistry is very much still there.
This book is undeniably a love story, but it never feels cliché. The slow-burn tension between Celia and Theo – sparked by their forced proximity – is realistic, romantic, and deliciously delicate. It had me craving a Theodore Finch of my own in more ways than one 🙊
There are a few spicy scenes sprinkled throughout, which I personally enjoyed – they felt natural and reflective of the deepening relationship between the main characters. They weren’t overdone, didn’t dominate the story, and were balanced beautifully by other elements like the strong friendship between Celia and Siena and the vivid, sun-drenched French setting that added so much charm and atmosphere.
Celia and Theo’s journey made me hopeful for my own love story – and reminded me how important it is to tell the people you love just how much they mean to you. Be brave, be vulnerable, and trust that one day, someone will see you and choose you for everything that you are.
Remarkably, this is only Anya Elizabeth’s second novel. I loved her effortless writing style and the way she kept me hooked while crafting such a heartfelt second-chance romance. I can’t wait for book two in the series!
Thanks to the author and Love Notes PR for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
Well this was the most adorably, sickly, sweet book I've read in awhile. It absolutely screamed whirlwind, summer romance, but with that underlying history that these two so clearly had. From starting out as best friends years ago, to that one kiss they shared that meant everything, but neither of them could voice it at the time. To six summers later, finally with the right time and right place. Its like everything came rushing back and they were finally both ready to express everything they had been holding onto for the past six years.
It was adorable, fast-paced and filled with so much love, affection and adoration, but somehow it just worked. Although it did at times feel slightly far-fetched with how quickly they fell back into each other, you could really tell that these two obviously cared a great deal for each other before they parted ways years earlier. Theo was like that character where you write a list of what the perfect boyfriend would be, and there he was immortalised on the page. He always had the right thing to say, and always saw and loved Cecelia for who she was. Whereas Cecelia got to rebuild herself and find the person she used to be. After being restricted in a toxic relationship for years, she truly made that summer her own and got to feel carefree, all the while knowing she got to return to the man she always loved.
If you love yourself a friends to lovers, whirlwind romance, then this book might just be for you. A 4 ⭐️ read for me.
My favorite trope is second-chance romance. I love the idea that the right people may have met before; but the timing was not right. And when they meet each other again in different circumstances, it’s like fireworks.
This was the PERFECT (yes, you read that correctly…perfect) second-chance romance.
Celia is coming off a horrible breakup. She’s vulnerable and needs to find herself after being controlled and manipulated. Her and her best friend Siena take off for a 3 month European adventure.
A couple of stops into their journey, she runs into Theo - the one who got away. Six summers ago, they shared a moment. But she panicked and brushed it off and they went their separate ways. A week in Nice, France together is proving that their time is now.
Theo is the epitome of “if he wanted to, he would.” He sees Celia for who she is. He respects her, cares for her, and is simply head over heels for her. While she needs time to decide if another relationship this quickly is what she needs, he gives her his patience. After 10 days, he goes home to England and her & Siena continue their trip. But all roads will lead back to him.
A huge shout out to Siena who was literally the best of friends. She had laughter & fun, but also the best heart to hearts and real talk. She was the true MVP of the book.
“Six Summers Apart” is the kind of book that sweeps you away and refuses to let go. From the very first page, Anya Elizabeth’s writing drew me in—I felt like I was strolling through the sunlit streets of Nice, right beside Celia and Theo, soaking up every detail of their world.
This story is swoony, deeply emotional, and profoundly heartfelt. The chemistry between Theo and Celia radiates off the page, so natural and magnetic that you can’t help but root for them. Their reunion is crafted beautifully—it doesn’t feel forced, but instead like slipping back into something timeless and true.
Theo is the kind of hero that makes you melt. The way he looks at Celia, the patience he shows, the quiet devotion—it’s everything. Their love feels both fragile and powerful, delicate yet enduring.
The romance is wrapped in all the tropes I adore: ✨ He falls first ✨ Second chance romance ✨ Holiday romance ✨ Friends to lovers ✨ Slow burn perfection
This was more than just a love story—it was an experience. One that left me smiling, aching, and wishing I could live in its pages just a little bit longer.
if you’re missing summer, this book will take you back to sunny days on the beach✨🥹
ғɪɴᴀʟ ʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ: ★★★★★/5 sᴜʙ ɢᴇɴʀᴇs/ᴛʀᴏᴘᴇs: • second chance • friends to lovers • summer in france • he falls first • slow burn 𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 (𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲) I couldn’t tell you the amount of times I spent smiling, giggling and swooning over this story before bed. I felt the most joy reading this just at the end of summer💗. this book follows newly single Cecilia (Cece) and her best friend Siena, both living their dream summer vacation traveling through europe. being so far from home and enjoying the french sun, she never thought she’d cross paths with Theodore Finch again after six years. one encounter isn’t enough though and the more they’re around each other the longing ricochets. as Theo puts it: “she was the one that got away”. I was smitten by this story, the vibrancy of summer love and the high-spirited friendship between the side characters🥰. I also found myself reminiscing of my trip to europe I took with my friend this past January, it was like time traveling for me🥹, though I wasn’t so lucky in finding my soulmate🫠🥲😂. I’m so excited to see what else Anya writes in the future😍!
☀️ Friends to lovers ☀️ He falls first ☀️ Slow burn ☀️ Second chance romance ☀️ The one that got away ☀️ Dual POV
I refuse to believe this one of Anya’s first books, it was so beautifully written! I felt like I was on holiday in France with all the characters, the writing was so descriptive!
I absolutely adored both Celia & Theo, what a beautiful connection they have, I could feel sparks from the moment they locked eyes 😩
The entire story was so fun to read, the tension between them, the friendship with Siena, the slow burn was absolutely exquisite 🔥
The start of the book was a tad slow, but I understand that was needed for context of their travels but once we got Theo’s first POV, boy things got spicy!
Overall this was such a fun light read, I absolutely loved it, did I pick up some nuggets for the next book? 👀
"Maybe loving someone didn’t always start with the words. Maybe it started with moments. With choosing each other exactly as we were. With croissants and dancing in the street and quiet mornings in bed."
I loved this second chance and love and living. I really enjoyed Cece! I loved that she was able to get out of a bad relationship and then go to another country to rediscover herself. I loved that her trip was about reconnecting with herself and to enjoy her best friend. I love that she was able to find Theo and get back the friend she lost and find the love she always deserved.
I really loved Theo. I loved that he recognized that his Celia needed this time to grow, reconnect and find herself again. I loved that he tried to be what she needed at each stage in the story. Also, who doesn't love a man who feeds you bread and coffee!!
I loved this story and need Nate, Siena and Little Rae's story!!!
Anya.. this was perfect. Cece and Theo have not left my brain. I am still swooning over that ending! 🥹
If you are in desperate need of a feel-good, friends to lovers, second chance, holiday romance, then you need to pick up Six Summers Apart. It may not have started out well for Cece, but it sure ended well 👀 This is the perfect summer read, and I felt like I was travelling through Europe alongside Cece and Siena. They had an amazing time, and I am currently sending in my application to join them on their next girls' trip as we speak
Cece and Theo's chemistry was undeniable from the start. Cece is out here trying to live her best life with her BFF after dealing with her ex for so long, but is struggling to focus on finding herself again because a certain someone keeps distracting her I don't blame her 😏 Theo is handsome, thoughtful, attentive, respectf, l and a gentleman (until they were behind closed doors 🤭). I LOVE a good friends to lovers trope. It has tension, longing, and a connection between the characters that you don't get anywhere else. Six Summers Apart did nodisappointnt. The fact that they still had such a strong spark after six years apart is incredible, and it made their reunion so special.
I have quickly fallen in love with Anya's writing, and I am so excited for book 2! Thank you so much LoveNotes PR and Anya for the e-arc. All opinions are my own.
This was a light, enjoyable read centered around Cecelia and her best friend Siena as they take a three-month trip through France, Italy, and Greece to reset after Cecelia’s breakup.
Along the way, Cecelia unexpectedly reconnects with Theo, someone who had been important to her six years earlier. Their chemistry is still very much alive, and the story follows how they slowly rediscover each other.
I loved the strong friendship between the two women and how their bond held steady despite life changes and romantic detours. There were fun moments of travel, heartwarming reunions, and even a charming niece who added a touch of humor. The European setting made me want to book a trip—and maybe grab a French pastry (or five).
While I enjoyed the journey overall, I did feel like some of the travel moments were cut a bit short, and the ending felt slightly rushed before diving into the epilogue. That said, it still left me smiling.
If you’re looking for a feel-good summer romance with a hint of spice (🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️), heartfelt friendships, and beautiful settings, this one’s worth picking up.
Listen up, if you love traveling and wish you could transport directly to the insta-perfect grids of the single summer holiday girlies, then this book is for you. If you’re in the US and want to escape the hell fire that is the United States right now, read this book. If you want to forget about the horrors of the world for short while, read this book. Now I won’t reiterate the summary, you can read that yourself. What this book is: slow burn, no 3rd act conflict, HEA (happy ever after), sweet, and of course spicy moments! This is a 3 on the spicy scale and you can easily skim over those parts if you’re not into that. Overall, this was a wonderful escape where you’re rooting for the HEA and close the book smiling at how adorable it was. Warning: the male main character is perfection and it will hurt your own feelings if you’re in a “less than ideal” relationship. But *sigh*, just read it and melt at their chemistry and know that the mail main character is the definition of a “if he wanted to, he would”.
This book follows Cecelia Hart as she goes on a 3 month trip to Europe with her best friend, Siena, after an awful breakup. Her ex, Adrian, was not a great guy, spending a lot of time tearing her down. So now she wants to go "find herself". While in Nice, she is literally bumped into by none other than Theo, her long ago crush. They reconnect, but after 6 years has passed and a damaging relationship, are Celia's feelings still there? How does Theo feel about it all? Read to find out where this goes.
I really enjoyed this one. The writing was so descriptive. It feels like you're there with them, taking in the scenery. The characters were relatable and grabbed my heart, which had me rooting for them. I recommend this one and can't wait for the next in the series to come out. I know who I'm hoping it will be 😉
This was such a perfect book to finish reminiscing about summer and had me on the verge of booking a flight to the SUNNIEST place I can find haha!
Cece was such a great FMC, she’s so strong and resilient (especially after her unfortunate past relationship) but she persevered and found herself in the process. I really enjoyed watching her grow throughout the story!
THEO MY MANNNNN😩😩 he is our fantastic MMC that is HEAD OVER HEELS for Cece, had me kicking my feet and giggling like a child the whole time!🤭 We love a kind, patient, golden retriever MMC that had my heart GRIPPED from the start!!
This was such a great story and I can’t wait for book two 🩷🩷🩷!!!
Thank you to Love Notes PR and the author for the ARC of this book! 4.5⭐️ and 2🌶️
I love LOVE a second chance romance😩 and second chance romance in FRANCE? Amazing 🤌🏼 I loved all of the characters in the book and their dynamics, Cecilia and Siennas friendship is everything!🫶🏼 And obviously Theo and Cecilia❤️❤️❤️ At first I was a bit unsure because why would a second chance romance happen while 2 best friends are on vacation? Will Cecilia abandon Sienna for Theo on their trip? But at the end I really liked how it all happened (I don't want to be too specific not to spoil anything!) I will be editing this review to a more in depth review but in the meantime, i LOVED this book! Thank you again Anya and Love Notes PR🫶🏼
Wow all it took was for me to read the prologue and I was right into my feels and knowing instantly this was going to be my next favourite read! That opening was so powerful and relatable!!
Siena’s wit is unmatched, I was honestly howling 🤣and I loved the relationship unfolding between her and Nate and also with Rae… there better be a book incoming!! (Single dad trope…must I say anymore).
Anya nailed it with the details. The description of everything is perfect. The setting felt so real and so gorgeous.
There is one chapter where Celia and Theo go to a quaint little postcard shop where people from all over the world write a postcard and stick it on the wall. I LOVED this chapter so much! I hope this shop is real?! Is it real?! Please say it is. And I want to go there asap.
The ending was so punchy and wholesome. It really got me in my feels and definitely set the next book up perfectly!! Anya you are so talented 🫶🏼
I can’t say I loved this book and I can’t say I hated like this book. The book kept me engaged, BUT something was missing for me. I’m not sure what it was, but it definitely was something. I will say that the way the author describes how the characters feel about the places they are in and the details of the buildings and shoppes even down to the clothing or the lattes and croissants are so wonderfully written and make you feel like you are actually there, but still something was missing. It makes you wish that a love like that would find a you like those two did in each other! Overall, it's a cute, easy read with low angst, low spice, and a sweet second chance love story.
