12 Disturbing True Crime Stories of Murder and Mayhem Volume 19 of the True Crime Case Histories Series ***This series can be read in any order***
In quiet suburbs and familiar neighborhoods, evil often wears the most ordinary face. This collection of twelve meticulously researched cases exposes the chilling reality that the most dangerous predators aren't strangers lurking in shadows—they're the people we trust, the neighbors we greet, and the faces we see every day.
From small-town America to international headlines, these stories reveal how carefully constructed lives can conceal unthinkable darkness, and how trust becomes the most dangerous weapon of all.
A sampling of the stories
The Pink Princess – A seven-year-old girl's excitement about Christmas gifts delivered to her door became the beginning of a nightmare that would haunt a small community. When the delivery driver who brought her packages decided she was a threat to his career, his solution defied all comprehension.
The Wrong Car – A college senior celebrating her final weeks before law school made the same decision millions make every weekend--she opened an app and requested a ride home. But the car that pulled up wasn't the rideshare she thought it was.
The Forbidden Closet – A nineteen-year-old's curiosity about her mother's locked closet uncovered an unthinkable secret that had been hidden for over a decade.
The Long Walk Home – A high school senior walked home from a party, unaware that one of her classmates was lurking in the shadows. For the next thirty years, he sat in the same classrooms where her friends grieved, attended the same reunions, and lived in the same town where her family searched for answers.
The Blue Earth Jane Doe – For thirty-five years, she lay in an unmarked grave, her identity stolen along with her life. It took the determination of a stranger who couldn't bear seeing "Unknown" on a headstone, and advances in DNA to bring her back to her family.
Plus, seven more shocking true crime stories that demonstrate how evil hides behind familiar faces and ordinary routines.
From teenage killers who turned jealousy into an eight-hour torture session to a businessman who used his sprawling estate as a burial ground for over twenty victims, these cases expose the monsters who lived among us, undetected and unsuspected, until their masks finally slipped.
Each story has been reconstructed through extensive research of court documents, police files, forensic reports, and firsthand testimony, offering readers an unflinching look at crimes that shattered communities and challenged everything they thought they knew about the people in their lives.

Jason Neal is a Best-Selling American True Crime Author living in Hawaii with his wife, who is also an author writing Women's Fiction as G.T. London. Jason started his writing career in 1989 as a music industry publisher and wrote his first true crime collection in 2019.
As a boy growing up in the 80s just south of Seattle, Jason became fascinated with true crime stories after hearing the news of the Green River Killer so close to his home. Over the coming years, he would read everything he could get his hands on about true crime and serial killers.
As he approached 50, Jason began to assemble stories of the crimes that have fascinated him most throughout his life. He’s especially fascinated by cases solved by sheer luck, amazing police work, and groundbreaking technology like early DNA cases and, more recently, reverse genealogy.
Another truly excellent true crime book. I found this book to be fascinating until I realized I was becoming quite angry about the harm done to these babies, girls, young women and men. There is a great deal here about all of the significant findings of these murders. Also, the book looks at one case where a schizophrenic man kills another and the problem with cases like this when they are brought to court. There is a concerted effort to examine how much leniency should be given to a person who is mentally ill. Altogether a great read.
Another interesting book about lesser known murders and crimes.
X-The pink princess- A beautiful seven-year-old girl that wanted to be a Viking princess when she grew up gets murdered by a delivery driver after he run her over instead of admitting the truth and getting her help he kills her.
X-The Wrong Car- A young girl gets into an uber after a night out but it turns out to not be her uber and she ends up murdered.
X-The Forbidden Closet- A daughter finds bones in her mom's forbidden closet and they turn out to be her newborn babies 😢.
X-The Long Walk Home- A girl goes missing after walking home one night from a party and it becomes a cold case for 30 years after being murdered, until it turns out to be a classmate all along.
X-The Blue Earth Jane Doe- For 35 years, Chile in an unmarked grave until through the help of a stranger she manages to find out who the girl is and inform her family finally giving them the answers they've wanted.
Plus 7 over horrific real-life murders were very sad endings for the victims.
Reads like a crime novel until you realize that these murders actually happened. In all of these cases, it amazes me as to the callous indifference to committing murder.
