This playboy bachelor baseball star meets a fiery young coach hellbent on making his life difficult, in monumental sports romance…Welcome to the third installment in the Billionaire Row Series, by Caroline Whiteley. Perfect for fans of Anna Huang, Lucy Score and Elsie Silver.
Jackson Straite hasn’t changed one bit. But I have, thankfully.
The star batter for the Yankees doesn’t recognise me as the gangly-legged teen who used to traipse around after the head coach all summer, otherwise known as my now estranged father. But I recognise him, not only from the countless hours I spent sitting on the sidelines of team practice staring, but from the collection of posters above my teenage desk from his underwear ad campaign.
Gone are the teenage pimples, braces, and thick rimmed glasses—thank you LASIK—replaced with a young, determined female coach tasked with turning around the team’s performance and winning the infamous club that shiny World Series trophy.
What stands in my way? Six feet and five inches of angry, arrogant man, who is more inclined to party than train. Manhattan’s hottest playboy bachelor is about to get a new house guest for the next three months. Not only am I now a glorified babysitter, but I also sleep just paces away from my celebrity teenage crush.
As we peel back the layers, not only am I surprised he still makes my stomach flip in a way I don’t want to examine too closely, but I also see a version of the man that he keeps private. He’s funny, kind, and more sensitive that he would like to admit.
Not only that, but we also share the same burden of watching fathers we idolised destroy our families. They say time heals, but perhaps finding the right person to stitch the broken pieces back together would be better?
He swings bats, she swings authority… and I was not prepared for the emotional damage ⚾🔥

Caroline Whiteley really said what if your teenage celebrity crush became your roommate… and also your biggest professional headache? Because that’s exactly the chaotic, emotional, banter-filled ride that Endless Destruction delivers.
This third instalment in the Billionaire Row series introduces us to Jackson Straite: Yankees star batter, certified Manhattan playboy, and a man whose life has been quietly unraveling since the loss of his sister. His talent is still there but the focus? Not so much.
Enter Teddy.
At just 22, she’s the new coach tasked with getting the team, and specifically Jackson, back on track. She’s determined, brilliant, slightly terrifying when it comes to discipline… and secretly the same girl who once plastered posters of Jackson’s underwear campaign all over her teenage bedroom wall.
Yes. The tension is immediate.
What I loved most about this book is that beneath the playful roommates-to-lovers setup, there’s a really raw emotional core. Both Jackson and Teddy carry deep wounds tied to the fathers they once idolized, and watching them slowly peel back those layers together felt incredibly genuine. Their connection grows from irritation to reluctant respect to something much softer and much deeper.
The banter between them is fantastic, but honestly the side characters elevate everything to another level. The dialogue sparkles, the humor lands perfectly, and the emotional moments hit harder because of it.
Jackson especially surprised me. Beneath the arrogance and party-boy reputation is a man who is grieving, sensitive, and quietly desperate to find his footing again.
This story is about growth, about letting someone see the broken parts of you, and about learning that sometimes strength means accepting help.
It’s funny, heartfelt, a little messy, and very addictive.
If you love sports romance with sharp banter, emotional depth, forced proximity, and a heroine who refuses to be intimidated even by a 6’5” baseball god, this one absolutely hits it out of the park.
4.75 ⭐️ Gah I love this series!! Hopefully we’ll get Chase’s story! I really love how down bad Jackson was for her right away. I love that she was a boss in her professional life. And I love the relationship building in this one. They worked hard and played hard together. This one’s third act breakup didn’t bother me as much as the other two books in the series, but there were lots of things off in terms of baseball. If I wasn’t such a big baseball fan it probably would’ve been perfection :)
Honestly I wasn’t all that interested in Jackson’s story, he didn’t seem that interesting to me from the other books but I’m so glad I read it anyways! The story is so sweet and just enough of a slow burn that you fall in love with the characters. Another great book and I cannot wait to read other books by her.
This series was wildly good! Fun and funny. But also a lot of heart. Great spice! This man was down bad and was so loud and proud about it! Heart eyes.
