عظات القديس مقاريوس الكبير

أيها الإنسان
أعرف أيها الإنسان سموك وكرامتك وشرفك عند الله. لكونك أخاً للمسيح. وصديقاً للملك. وعروساً للعريس السماوي. لأن كل من استطاع أن يعرف كرامة نفسه، فإنه يستطيع أن يعرف قوة وأسرار اللاهوت. وبذلك يمكنه أن ينسحق ويتضع أكثر. ففي ضوء قوة الله يري الإنسان خطورة حالته الساقطة. وكما أنه (المسيح) عبر الآلام والصليب قبل أن يتمجد ويجلس عن يمين الآب، هكذا ينبغي لك أن تتألم معه، وتُصلب معه، وبذلك تصعد معه وتتحد بجسد المسيح، وتملك معه إلي الأبد في ذلك العال، "إن كنا نتألم معه لكي نتمجد أيضاً معه". (رو17:8).

Macarius of Egypt (Greek: Ὅσιος Μακάριος ο Ἀιγύπτιος; Coptic: ⲁⲃⲃⲁ ⲙⲁⲕⲁⲣⲓ; 300–391) was a Coptic Christian monk and hermit. He is also known as Macarius the Elder , Macarius the Great and The Lamp of the Desert.

Excellent Patristic exhortations. He understands spiritual warfare from experience in an in-depth way. As with all of the Church Fathers, he's not infallible, and there were a few things which I question (no medical doctors for Christians, especially), but this an edifying and completely understandable devotional read; most of the homilies are not long.

الانسان في فكر انبا مكاريوس الكبير عبارة عن مملكة تتنازع عليها قوتان ... اما يتسلم الله مقاليدها و يتوطن علي عرش النفس البشرية وتبدأ النعمة سكناها في الانسان ...
اما يسلم الانسان نفسه للهلاك و الشر و تفارقه نعمة الله

The homilies contain many deep thoughts and one can see the wisdom of this man. Mostly, the writings are based on the World of God, but there are also many teachings that are not according to the World, but according to convictions of those times.
