I have no doubt in my mind that this book would kindle keen interest in science in kids. Umpteen practical experiments and science behind everyday occurrence are elaborated in a friendly tone, making this science text much more readable than the books we were used to, that spewed information in a serious monotony.
However, I believe, (similar to what I felt when I read the earlier book in the series for class 6), this book falls way short of its ICSE counterpart. In order to cater to the lowest common denominator, NCERT has reduced the syllabus so much so that, it would be an uphill task for the students who only rely on these books when they graduate to higher classes. IMHO this book should be taught in at least one class lower.
