I’m a bunny shifter whose future was decided by a cruel burrow. Now I’m choosing my own path… even if it means war.
In Blackberry Burrow, females like me were nothing more than property, used to breed and controlled by rules I didn’t agree to. With my first heat due any day, the rabbit shifter men had already started negotiating who would be sharing my bed, like I was nothing more than a toy for their amusement.
I’d rather mop a bathroom floor with my tongue than let that happen.
With the help of my best friend Fletcher, I ran—straight into the arms of two very large, very dangerous, and very growly wolf shifters. Linc and Copeland didn’t just protect me; they claimed me. Alongside Fletcher, they became my mates. My future. My family.
But peace doesn’t last long when your past wants you back… dead or alive.
The burrow has a plan to get their revenge, and my mates are their first targets. When I left, I promised myself I’d die before ever stepping foot on burrow land again. But now I’m going back to the place that caged me. Armed with a plan, determination, and a whole lot of rage, I’m ready to bop a few bunnies on the head if it means saving my mates.
They underestimated me before. But this bunny? She bites back.
It’s Kind of a Bunny Story is a standalone within the Hey There, Hop Stuff series. Expect possessive wolves, stubborn bunnies, heat cycles, and plenty of steam. There are mentions of past abuse, but all steamy scenes are fully consensual. The Hey There, Hop Stuff series will feature a different bunny shifter girl and her mates within the same community. Each girl will get her happy ending. The books can be read out of order, but the community and shifter communities will make slightly more sense if you read the books in order.

“With zero hesitation, I pulled back my leg and kicked his chuckle nuggets with every bit of force I could muster. He hit the ground harder than I had.”
🐰 This series is honestly so funny 🤣🤣 This book had more plot than the first two in the series. But I still loved it and cackled the entire time reading!
FLETCHER DESERVED BETTER, I SAID WHAT I SAID!!! He's the only mate I'll actually remember out of all three books. I liked It's Kind of a Bunny Story better than The Bunny Blues and it's because of him and him alone.
All three stories started off in a similar way, but this one had the least amount of plot, it was mostly smut and puns. I'm always here for the puns, but the smut with no connection behind it can get tiring, especially if it starts from the get go.
But this series is fun to listen to if you're not looking for something serious, plus, I've had some of Ashe's books on my tbr for a while, so it was about time I checked her work out. Hopefully I'll like her other series better than this one.
I'm fairly new to Sedona Ashe, but I've been wanting to read her Hey There, Hop Stuff series since the first book was released, so I decided to just jump right in with It's Kind of a Bunny Story, and it was an excellent cozy paranormal romance.
It's hard to reconcile the two sides of Charlee. There's the soft, vulnerable bunny who has been abused by her people and the bad bunny who fights against the patriarchy by demanding equality for the women in their burrow. Both are her. At first, it's only the vulnerable side I see, then Char flipped the script, and it was amazeballs! Loved her. Char guys are fantastic too. Fletcher, Copeland, and Linc are sweethearts. They're playful, protective, and all in. I loved the dynamic between them.
Do you know that rabbits sometimes eat their young? Well, I did, so the behavior of Charlee's burrow isn't at all surprising. They are controlling and abusive towards the women, use hired muscle, and act as loan sharks. Not to mention they've been dabbling in some things and are obviously up to no good. They have all the shifters fooled into thinking they're prey, and while nature might dictate that in one way, they are predators in another. I'm ecstatic that Charlee gets her confrontation moment; I have to say that I was very impressed.
The story went from a fast-burning romance to an action flick at the speed of light, and it was all laced with some pretty good humor. I really enjoyed reading It's Kind of Bunny. If you like (sort of) arranged mating, heats, found family, she saves the day, and cinnamon roll MMCs tropes, then I highly suggest not missing out on this one.
In last draft stage, not finished and polished stage.
This read more like a something still in progress, not a completed novel.
There’s no back story for the guys, just hints. There’s no world building, despite this supposedly being able to be read as a stand-alone (must read the previous). The characters are shallow, incomplete, and more trope than individuals. The FMC doesn’t match the background she’s been given. The rabbit MMC doesn’t match his background. The rabbit burrow WB is incomplete, and hence lack’s continuity. It’s Insta lust/love, with no romance or development, despite not being destined mates, or such. The story has some holes in important plot points, that are never addressed or compensated for. ….
All up, it’s an awesome story idea, with a whole heap of potential, but not yet ready to read. The proof reading and editing that would catch, fill in, and correct all of this, is 1-2 steps away from being completed.
Would love to read this again should it ever be edited.
I understand that the author got really sick in while writing this book, and I do understand having deadlines…. But I just cannot understand why this book had to be released when it was. It had so much potential, and I was so excited to read it, however…. I find it lacking and really disappointed. The first 2 in the series was amazing but this just left me feeling deeply unsatisfied. I do hope the author is 100% better now and if there is any future books in this series - I hope they are better written. I am so sorry to Sedona Ashe, please don’t take this the wrong way, but end this series on a low, the talent is there, the story was just lost.
I love this series it’s such a fun place to get lost in. This tiny but fierce bunny will do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones. I laughed so hard at parts of this story that I was thanking above I hadn’t been drinking anything because it would have been every where!
I'm really sorry to rate this book so low, since I enjoyed the first two in the series a lot.
I'm always having a difficult time liking a book when it starts off with full blown smut with the whole harem and I feel that especially for this book it wasn't doing it any favors. By that I mean that this series isn't known for the strongest plot, but for the cute, funny, a little bit dark but still fluffy vibes. There is A LOT of focus on the romance and the little plot is mainly used to enable the romance more. Now if the "romance" already happens in chapter one it takes away the tension/build-up, removes all the stakes, angst and basically everything that MAKES this series.
Also, it felt like the author tried mixing her quirky writing style with a heavy theme and this made the book somehow clash with itself (don't know how to phrase it better). Sometimes it felt like reading a parody of her own books, because the euphemisms for certain body parts felt so over the top/ridiculous, but then the book tried to be serious concerning the plot. It just didn't fit at all and gave me whiplash. To be honest the only thing I enjoyed about this book were the MMCs being dorky in their wolf form.
I don't know if there will be more books in this series. I kinda hope so because I think the concept of wolf and bunny shifters together is so cute, but at the same time I know I'll have a difficult time enjoying them if the author continues in same direction as this book.
While I did enjoy this addition to the series, it felt lacking it many ways. The biggest deficit being in the actual romance and relationship part.
I waited a year for the 2nd book after reading the 1st, and a year for this book after that, and I honestly would have happily waited more if it meant the author had time to write to her true potential. Especially if she had just changed the expected release date to a later one, instead of having the entire book dissappear off Amazon/Kindle when the deadline passes as if it didn't exist, and then reappear with it's release (the same thing happened with book #2 when it went past the expected release date as well) As someone with a chronic illness, I'll never begrudge someone for life happening, but the handling could have been better, and the book sadly showed its rushed nature.
Going into more about the book itself, the story immediately jumps into high heat, and I mean immediately. While this is not my favorite, I don't actually mind if time is given for the skipped groundwork to be laid afterward. Unfortunately, that never really happens, as the characters jump from the heat/non-stop spice to a different crisis that has Charlee acting mostly independently.
For most of the book, I kept thinking about how I wished Fletcher and Charliee had more of an established relationship (beyond friendship) before the heat and other mates were introduced, which happens in Chapter 1. I think this would have made a huge difference for the unit as a whole and in establishing Fletcher's role because the poor dude felt like the odd one out and kind of brushed aside. Linc and Copeland already had the established pack-bond/brotherhood vibes going on as well as the typical alpha-male role, and of course everyone is instantly attached to our female lead...meanwhile Fletcher was reduced to "Bunny Boy" (demeaning after a while even if its in a teasing way considering these dudes barely know him) and he's never really relied on despite the fact that he's the one who got himself and Charlee away from the crazy rabbit burrow and kept them alive and free for over two weeks.
Charlee was a female lead who is funny and badass in her own way as she saves the day, which is fun in itself to read, but not quite what I wanted or expected going into the book. I think the author's goal was to not have her be the fragile stereotype, but it felt rushed. An example, without giving too much away, is that at one point Charlee acknowledges that her actions may be falling into the "stupid female tries to save the day" trope but then continues anyway. Maybe pointing out the trope was a way to make it feel less like that or at least acknowledge it's existence in an ironic way...but for me it kind of just added to the frustration of her not at least looping Fletcher in as the man clearly would move heaven and earth for her and there really wasn't a logical reason for her to go fully solo.
At the end of the book, we also didn't get a teaser into the next one, which makes me think this may be the end of the series. I do hope that isn't the case, but if it is, hopefully once the author feels better she may consider writing a short novella catching up on each of the relationships and showing how the everything settled as I think that would help the series end on a higher note and feel more wrapped up.
These bunny books are so freaking cute. After three books, I still love the idea of a tiny little bunny winning over the hearts of big bad wolves. This one didn't have as much character development as the other two, IMO. I didn't really get a feel for the guys, except Fletcher, the bunny boy. I still loved it, though. Sometimes, you just need an easy smut read, you know? And I can always depend on the males in these books to be head over heels in love with the female.
This one has dark elements, just like the last two did, where the females come from bad burrows that abuse their women. I won't bother getting into details because basically everything bad happens to them. But you don't see any of it on the page in this one and this female fights back. I was all in when she kicked major butt, or tried to. We also get to see the characters from book one make an appearance.
Basically, if you love shifter books and smut, you'll probably like this. There aren't very many pages to work with, so there's not a lot of development for everything. But it still fit from the world originally created in the first book, so that you feel like you just plopped back into the story.
As far as the smut goes, this one starts out with it on page one, basically. She's in heat so it's inta-lust. You could also say it's inst-love for the wolves since they were quick to have her as a mate, but their feelings seem real enough as they worship her for the rest of the book. It's like that with paranormals anyway, so I don't get why people get upset about it. That's kind of the point, knowing instantly through scent that you love someone. But whatever. Anyway...yeah...good smut, cute characters, bunnies, wolves...can't go wrong.
It's definitely best if you read the other books first
I read the previous two books of "Hey There, Hop Stuff" when they were released. As I read this book, pieces definitely came back to me from the other books, but some of them were fuzzy. I think I would have enjoyed it more had I refreshed myself with the first two books, but I still fully understood what was going on.
Fletcher and Charlee escaped their burrow to avoid having Charlee getting forced to have random men "assist her" during her first heat. She wanted the ability to choose who she spent her heat with and bonded to, but that wasn't the way of the burrow. Fletcher, her best friend, helped her get away and to a pack of wolves who helped protect other shifters (namely bunnies) from such situations. Here, two wolves volunteered to guard her and also help her through her heat along Fletcher. These two, Linc and Copeland, were immediately smitten with her.
The first chunk of the book doesn't have a lot going on. It's just Charlee going through her heat, the characters kind of getting to know each other better, and setting the scene. Things don't pick up until Linc and Copeland suddenly and mysteriously get sick. I enjoyed everything just before this point and onward.
There's a couple of itsy bitsy little teeny tiny things that need correcting, but nothing worth pointing out specifically or removing points for.
Overall, it was a cute book with a brave bunny FMC, who I really liked. She has a fantastic friend in Fletcher, and I love that Linc and Copeland finally found their perfect mate. It was a good addition to the series!
It’s Kind of a Bunny Story(Better-Off Bunny Series Book 3)
It’s Kind of a Bunny Story(Better-Off Bunny Series Book 3) ~~ This final book wrapped the series up in a way that felt earned. It’s Kind of a Bunny Story leans into healing, acceptance, and finally letting Bunny step fully into who she’s meant to be ~ without losing her sharp edge or humor along the way.
I loved seeing Bunny claim her strength instead of just surviving. The relationships come full circle here, and while not everything is perfect or easy, it feels real. The emotional payoff was solid, and the found-family aspect really hit home. This book felt like a deep breath after everything Bunny endured.
I mostly listened to this one on Audible, and I’m glad I did. The narrator handled the emotional resolution beautifully, and it made the quieter moments feel just as important as the dramatic ones. Listening helped me slow down and really absorb the ending ~ which I needed because I wasn’t quite ready to let these characters go.
This was a satisfying conclusion that didn’t rush Bunny’s journey or cheapen her growth. It closed the door gently while still leaving that warm, content feeling behind.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it!!!
I’ve listened to a bunch of this Authors books on audible, some good & some not so good. The author definitely has a writing style as most of the books are very similar. This book was similar but I enjoyed it better than the other two in this series, she was a good strong character, yes she had a sad back story like the other females in this series but she was also kick ass! She wasn’t insecure or whiny she took control of her life and did whatever she had to.
The spice started quickly with this book and unlike the other two books in the series this one has 1 rabbit mate & 2 wolf mates. Her wolf mates got really sick and she snuck back into her old burrow and got what she needed for the doctors to try and save her mates.
Then went back to clean up the burrow that was run by greedy old men who just saw women as okay things for a good time.
***I also appreciated that in these spicy scenes the writer didn’t have any more homophobic scenes like she did in a few others books. Where the mates had to be these Alpha macho douche bags that would threaten to murder or harm another mate if he touched him or got too close to him during intimate times with their mate. 🤦♀️ when you’re writing a reverse harem everyone she be an active participant or at least supportive member of the harem, no threats just love & respect!

“It’s Kind of a Bunny Story” is the third standalone in this series. With the story standing on its own it’s possible to read it without opening the first two books, which is what I have done. But I have to admit there were parts where I wondered if I would have understood the details better if I had read the previous ones. So, in full honesty, I would recommend reading book one and two first if you want the maximum experience.
That being said, this book has a kind of humor I can truly enjoy. It’s the kind that makes me simultaneously chuckle and roll my eyes, leaving me with a big smile on my face. I also love how this heroine is a cute combination of vulnerability and hidden badassery. She’s definitely not a badass in the true sense of the word, but what she manages to do to save her men is truly heroic. And it means so much more knowing her power is all driven by love.
To enjoy this story, I have to admit I had to look past a few things: the insta-love, the lack of male character building and some parts that felt rushed. But overall it was an enjoyable read, perfect if you’re looking for a palet cleanser or something short, fun and spicy.
I binged this book in like 4 hours and I’m so sad it’s over! Wow Sedona keeps making the backstory for the women in these books worse and worse. Charlee ran from her burrow with the help of her friend and crush Fletcher. In their burrow, females are put into a brothel when they’re in their heat and there are no actual family groups. Charlee has been fighting and rebelling against this for years but her first heat was starting so they ran. Copeland and Linc are two wolves who volunteered to be her mate and help her during her heat. They’d given up on having a mate so they were thrilled to help. Later she ends up returning to the burrow in an effort to save the wolves from a toxin the burrow had created and she ends up risking her life by taking the toxin herself to help develop a treatment. I thought the chemistry between all four of them was well done and I love how much agency Charlee had as the story went on. I loved the crossover of characters from the previously 2 books and I’m curious how Boone and Reece are going to go.
I received an ARC of this book and am posting an honest review.
This is the third book in the “Hey There Hop Stuff” series and it was fine. It’s pretty short so we don’t get a super deep story and don’t even get that much time with our MC’s being together.
Charlee is a female rabbit shifter who escapes her warren with the help of her best friends Fletcher. The book picks up with Charlee’s heat starting and her confessing her feelings to Fletcher. We also learn that two werewolf shifters, Linc and Copeland are on their way to mate with her as well. The first couple of chapters are them going through Charlee’s heat when they are ambushed by mercenary coyote shifters hired by Charlee and Fletcher’s warren.
Linc and Copeland end up getting poisoned and Charlee takes on a daring mission to save them. Since it was such a short book we don’t get a lot of depth with the characters, but as with many shifter/pack romances they fall in love right away and have lots of spicy times.
Squee!! I was so excited to head back into the fluffles that are wolves and rabbits. We get the very beginning of this story in book 2. When Fletcher our 1st male good bunny boy, brings Charlee, our FMC, to the wolves for help.
This book wasn't out when I read the 1st two so I had to circle back around to it.
Its kick your heels cute with rabbits that are as fierce as they are timid at times. I do love that Charlie mostly saved herself in the pages and the wolves Linc and Copland and bunny Fletcher are there to support her.
@ Sedona Ashe if you get to see this I would love to have a Boone and Reese book. Whether its m/f mmmf or even mmff would be awesome. Reese is such a great character, and i feel there's going to be a story with Boone's place in the Burrows
It definitely feels like there can be a lot more bunny books.
It’s Kind of a Bunny Story is book 3 in a series of interconnected standalones, but it works perfectly well on its own 🐰📚✨. This is a shifter romance 🐺💫 with reverse harem, heat, and knotting vibes 🔥🐾💥. The FMC is scarred — both physically and emotionally 💔🖤 — and her story leans darker than the previous books ⚠️📖. One MMC (who’s also a bunny shifter 🐰🤍) helps her escape her personal hell 🚪🏃♀️, and that bond felt especially emotional and grounding 💞✨. The other two MMCs join later 🐺🐺🔥, bringing intense touch-her-and-you’ll-die energy 💀🛡️🖤 and full-on protective alpha vibes 🐾😤. There’s a serious amount of bunny puns 🥕🐇😂 that add much-needed lightness 🌈✨, but don’t be fooled — this book also dives into darker themes, sacrifice 🩸🕯️, and some triggering moments, so definitely check the TW list ⚠️📚❗. Overall, it balances humor and darkness really well ⚖️🐰🌑, with strong protective dynamics 💪🖤 and a cozy found-family feel 🏠💞✨. A solid continuation of the universe that adds emotional depth 📖💥 while keeping the bunny chaos alive 🐰🔥🐺.
Charlee and Fletcher is fleeing their burrow of archaic shifters. This is the third book in the Hey There, Hop Stuff series (and I really hope it won't be the last). We meet characters from the first two books and even though they all can be read alone, I highly recommend reading them in order for the most satisfying experience. I love the characters in this book just as much as I did the previous two. There are strong personalities and a lot of character development, despite this being such a short read. How the alpha knows just who to send (Linc and Copeland) when Fletcher comes knocking on their door (in book 2), I still can't figur out - but it all works! I felt like the action was amped up a notch in this 3rd book and I didn't mind one bot. A hilarious fast paced WhyChoose shifter romance that will make all RomCom lovers swoon. Here is to hoping Reese and Boone's story will be next.
Sedona Ashe is one of those authors that you can read whenever you need a good laugh. Her books NEVER disappoint. I laughed too many times to count while reading this book. Charlee's internal thoughts and comments are too freaking funny. I love that the guys' personalities fit with hers perfectly. Plus, the banter between the 3 guys.. OMG it's everything! They're just as goofy and playful as she is. I honestly don't think I could choose which of the guys is my favorite, even if my life depended on it. All 3 of them are perfection.
If you're looking for a book that's funny (seriously, almost the whole book is hilarious), sweet, and light, but still has enough action, intrigue and just enough smexy scenes with smokin' hot shifters to keep you entertained throughout, this is the book for you.
Overall a good read; it’s a shorter book but the structure is well done maybe a touch fast paced at moments but good. It’s not overly spicy maybe a two or so since the main spice happens in the first few chapters with her heat and all. There’s quite a bit of drama and some scares about death and heartbreak but it’s still a lighter story than a dark romance. There is talk of past abuse and trauma so if a reader can’t handle that then I wouldn’t recommend this book. It’s a fun why choose; found family shifter romance with guys who adore their girl and a fluffle that will do just about anything for each other even risk death which is very sweet and wholesome. Personally it wasn’t quite as satisfying to me as the first two books in the series but still worth the read.
Sedona Ashe has done it again! This is book three in the Hey there, Hop Stuff series of interconnected standalones about bunny shifters escaping their horrible communities and finding love with multiple wolf shifter mates. Charlee and her best friend Fletcher escape their burrow and seek shelter and aide with the wolves and find love with two reclusive wolf shifters that would do anything for Charlee. I'm obsessed with the relationship that they build and how Fletcher, being a bunny, doesn't feel ostracized or inferior. Of the three books currently out, I would say that this one has the most developed and complex plot to go with the scorching spice. If you like hurt/comfort, love at first sight, protective mates, and some light revenge, you are going to love this story!!! ARC Review
