Growing environmental concerns, climate change, pollution, excessive flooding, population, resource scarcity and many other relevant issues create a threat for countries and forced them to think about security of the environment. Thus, the notion of traditional conceptualization of security, after cold war era, has changed with inclusion of non-traditional threats like energy, environment and resources etc. Though, literature provide the studies conducted on the topics related to conflict and security relationship with environment but there exists a huge gap in providing brief and generalized overview of the security status in perspective of environment and any risks associated to that security at global level. Even, if some related indices provide any information, the construction of those indices is difficult to handle owing to the selection of so many indicators, the data for which is hard to gather and manage in order to get any generalized overview. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate environmental security of countries at global scale by using fundamental environmental matrices i-e., air, land and water which are necessary for existence of life on earth.
