The universe is not a mere collection of isolated stars and wandering souls, but a boundless, breathing web—an infinite tapestry, shimmering with unseen threads that connect every atom, every thought, every being. It is not a cold mechanism of random forces, but a living consciousness, whispering its secrets through the patterns of energy, intention, and dream. This is the reality of Entanglement: a cosmic truth that defies distance, transcends time, and binds all things in an intricate and eternal dance beyond the limits of perception.
Entanglement is not only a principle of physics—it is a testament to the hidden unity that underpins existence. It is an exploration of the invisible spaces between matter and mind, a sacred corridor where science meets spirit, where the language of quantum mechanics echoes the ancient hymns of sages and mystics. As I wrote this book, I was continually reminded that we are not mere witnesses to this web—we are its breath, its song, its endless unfolding. We do not stand apart from the cosmos; we are written into it, as threads spun from the same primordial loom.
This book is an invitation to peer beyond the veil of appearances and into the profound interconnectedness that governs all life. It draws from the quantum mysteries that challenge our notions of separateness, from the sacred traditions that whisper of the One Mind behind all creation, and from the timeless human yearning to remember our place within the vast intelligence of being. Every thought, every action, every heartbeat sends a ripple across the fabric of reality. Nothing is lost. Nothing is meaningless. Every moment is part of the great and living pattern.
Philosophers once spoke of the "anima mundi," the world soul—a consciousness that lives and breathes within all forms. Mystics across traditions have described the universe as a dream dreamt by the Divine, where separation is an illusion and all is one in essence. Modern physics, too, edges closer to these truths, as entanglement reveals particles influencing one another across impossible distances, as if whispering through a medium deeper than space itself. These are not metaphors. They are the hidden architecture of reality, now stirring into our collective awareness.
Whether you seek to understand the scientific marvel of quantum entanglement, to walk the ancient paths of unity and remembrance, or simply to feel your own belonging in the infinite mystery, Entanglement offers a glimpse into a universe more alive, more intelligent, and more interconnected than we have dared to imagine.
It is a call to awaken—not to something outside ourselves, but to the infinite web already within and around us, the silent music we have always known but forgotten how to hear. My hope is that these pages awaken a recognition deep within you—a luminous knowing, older than words—that you have always been part of the grand weave. That your life, your light, your journey, is a thread of meaning in the great unfolding. Welcome to the web of life. Welcome to Entanglement. Now, let us begin.
Phillip Harrison was born in Montreal Canada, and was a part of the Anglophone Exodus when his family moved out west to Edmonton in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He notes that “the move felt ‘a little alien’ to him” for quite some time”, as his mother’s side of the family had been in Quebec for almost four hundred years.
Dragonfly is his first book of published poetry and in it pages, Phillip takes us on a literary journey through our perceptions of life, death, and the images of beauty we forget are all around us every day. By opening the doors and windows of our own inner self, the poet demonstrates that more meaningful perceptions can be attained through reflection on these notions we have of permanence and impermanence. Having worked in both oilfield and manufacturing sectors, instilled an awareness of the problems that these industries are facing.
